I tried their sandwich on their food truck during new years celebration in Austin.I liked the grilled cheese sandwich, I had the O.G on Hawaiian buns($6)My issue is the size of the sandwich for the price, its not worth it.Probably not my go to place.

This location is a little further south than Google maps suggested - its in a bright yellow shipping container type building. The grilled cheese combinations were all creative and delicious. We especially loved the goat cheese and mac and cheese options!

Pretty good grilled cheese sandwiches here.At around $9 for a sandwich, I wished they were bigger as they arent very filling by themselves.

First thing on my list when I moved to the states: Get a proper grilled cheese sandwich. After browsing my Instagram feed I found the right spot. Burros! A small, not really a trailer but more like a container, kitchen on the S Congress Avenue. I didnt paid much attention to the opening hours so the first time I have been here was a Tuesday and it was closed.I came again a couple of days later and have been let down. I ordered the Waylon and Willie and it was so delicious. Everything is made fresh and its hot, no gooey cheese or what soever. The bread toasted to perfection, cant wait for my next bite!

I was so excited to try this little shipping container eatery because I love grilled cheese, especially when its fancy, but I was sadly a little disappointed. On my first visit, I got the Via 206 (sourdough, cheddar, gouda + balsamic apricot fig) add smoked prosciutto, and it was pretty tasty, but just so so greasy. I felt really gross while and after eating it. They heavily lubricate all the sandwiches and make them on the same buttery/oily griddle press type thing and its just overkill for me. On Fridays they do a brisket special featuring meat from La Barbecue that sounds so good in theory, but same issues for me--excessively greasy, so much that it takes away from the actual ingredients. This could just be a personal preference because I always see people eating there and they seem completely satisfied. I really wanted to love it, but I just cant get over the exorbitance. On a positive note, it occupies a lovely little space on south congress with some shaded seating available on site. Parkings really not even much of a problem since its a bit south of where the stores and restaurants begin. It shares a space with a juice/smoothie trailer thats nice and healthy, so even if you do indulge in a sinful sandwich, you have the convenient option of grabbing a green juice to go to balance out your insides. Another positive is they use high quality cheeses, local breads from Easy Tiger, and have a large assortment of unique sauces that you wont find at your typical grilled cheese place. No matter what I say, in all honesty Ill probably go back because lets be real, its cheese and bread, two of lifes greatest pleasures.

I had no idea this was a grilled cheese truck. The name made me think it was a goat taco truck. We had the Via 206 and the Grilled Glory. The bread was high quality and everything was toasted perfectly. We ordered just before closing and so the Grilled Glory was short on fig jam. Still good. We took advantage of the paypal offer; however, Im not sure Id return since $5+ for a grilled cheese felt expensive.

Good food, but nothing extraordinary. I ordered the Croque Madame (first visit) and a sandwich with brisket (second visit). Portions are OK, but if youre really hungry it wont be enough. Sandwiches are not worth the price (considering the taste and portions provided). I personally wouldnt go back again and would not recommend.

I absolutely LOVED this place- I mean who hates a good grilled cheese sandwich? I had the Via 206(this is a mind blowing sandwich and you MUST try it!), and my hubby had the Coppola(which was also very very good!). We got the tomato soup and dipped the grilled cheese sandwiches with it. Service was good, and the food was even better! The only bad thing was that they ran out of their King Hawaiian bread, which I heard was incredibly delicious. Definitely will have to come here again to try it out! :)

I came here on a day that was special. Burro Cheese Kitchen paired up with another well known trailer, La Barbecue, to produce the ultimate brisket and cheese sandwich. They did a pretty good job of achieving their goal and I had trouble finishing my meaty, cheesy and greasy concoction. My wife had their vegetarian option, which she said was delicious as well.

The primary reason for the 1 star rating is that they added a $2 tip to my order without my knowledge or permission. As soon as I saw the charge on my card, I contacted them to report what happened. I have not heard anything back, but I will be sure to update this review if they make things right. A very shady move and while it may have just been that one employee’s actions, the fact they haven’t responded doesn’t bode well. Avoid at all costs I say.Justin did reach out, as seen below. I believe he is working to make things right, and when that happens I will update or delete this review.

Burro Cheese Kitchen catered our wedding on 10/7/17 and it was perfect, we had a special request for a Caesar salad and they had no issue changing their menu for us, We are beyond happy with how everything turned out. And of course, the grilled cheeses were AMAZING!

Burro Cheese Kitchen does not serve regular ole grilled cheese sandwiches, theirs are artisan grilled cheese sandwiches. Their combination of breads, cheeses, and fillings create a marriage of grilled cheese delight. I have had two of their sandwiches, both are great, perfectly made. The Via 206 is made up of sour dough bread, cheddar and Gouda cheeses, and top off with balsamic apricot fig. The Waylon and Willie is made up of sour dough bread, aged cheddar, Gouda, caramelized onions, pepperocinis, and a spicy maple bacon sauce. Excellent sandwiches!

Service takes a while, but worth the wait! When I went, I got the Burning Mac. It was delicious! I would reccomend it to anyone who can take some heat. Besides the wait, the food is also a bit pricey. I believe my sandwich was 8 or 9 dollars. There is a convient smoothie shop right next to Burro also. I will definitely be back!

I’ve been wanting to try their sandwiches forever and I was stoked for my grilled cheeese with balsamic fig jam, yummmmm. In my mind, it was definitely worth the $8. But, I couldn’t taste the fig and the cheese seemed to have no flavor. It was really weird. My friend who ordered before me, mind me I got my sandwich in under a minute which I thought was spectacular, never got her sandwich. So she asked if they called her name and she didn’t hear it, but they forgot to make it. Since we’d already eaten one sandwich we didn’t love, she asked if she could just get a refund, but the guy working said they can’t do refunds. I felt like we wasted our money.

One of the best grilled cheeses I have had. Great staff as well - friendly and knowledgeable. Loved the beautiful light location under a giant oak tree. Try the Via 206 - beer bread, cheddar, gruyere & balsamic apricot fig. So so delicious - unique enough but not too off the wall in the foodie type of way. Best of all, they feature Oregon cheese and Stumptown Coffee - cant get much better than that. (:

This place has, beyond all doubt, the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches Ive ever had in my entire life. The Via 206 is my favorite! I first tried Burro this year during SXSW and have since followed them to their SoCo location for another meal. The location has some seating but during a busy time that can quickly become crowded. The sandwiches do take some time to make but the wait is well worth it!

Very, very expensive for what you get.Big Kahuna ($8): A grilled cheese on Hawaiian bread with smoked ham. I thought the only thing particularly remarkable about this other than the unusual (worse than usual) bread choice was the nice chargrilled flavor it had surprisingly acquired from their grill.Waylon & Willie ($9): Grilled cheese with caramelized onions and a maple bacon sauce on sourdough. It was also supposed to come with pepperocinis, but they were out when I visited. A pretty regular tasting grilled cheese sandwich, for $9.

Parking: like the rest of Soco- park on the STREET. This place is right across the street from Amys. Look for the bright yellow trailer.Whats great about this place:- fresh bread made by Easy Tiger (also have gluten free sourdough)- fancy cheese choices & creative sauces: balsamic apricot fig, jalapeno cream cilantro, spicy maple bacon, dulce de leche- good portion; filling- customer service (see below)What could be better1) youll have to be patient (we waited about 10 mins to get our sandwiches)2) Making your own can add up $$; if you dont watch out... you can easily end up paying $13-$18 for a grilled cheese sandwichBEST Sandwich: Hubby & I created our own: Sourdough + gouda + almond pesto aioli $6.5. I think it was everyones favorite.Thoughts:1) Get SOURDOUGH-- I didnt get to try the kings hawaiian bread, but that sourdough was superb! They grilled it so it was perfectly crispy on the outside-- reminds me of Fricanos sandwiches.2) Great customer service. You know how the ends of the bread loaf are smaller than the ones in the middle? Never fear. Here... when this happens here, they just double up your sandwich. (aka you get 2 smaller sandwiches instead of 1-- which ends up being HUGE- portionsize)

The stylish bright yellow shipping crate turned trailer is very eye-catching, and seating is provided on a grassy patch underneath a giant oak tree. The owner created a very clever logo out of his last name (who wouldnt adore a Swiss cheese burrow?). On the very busy night we were there the service was friendly and they were great with offering helpful suggestions for those choosing the create-your-own option. There are two sides to the menu, so be sure to look at both. One side features six gourmet grilled cheese options for an easier choice, and the flip side is create-your-own where you pick the bread, the cheese, the sauce and any fixings. All the ingredients are artisan quality: there is bread from Easy Tiger and a gluten free option from Wild Wood Bakeshop, gourmet aged cheeses, and hand crafted sauces. Cheese options included lavender cheddar, bosque blue, brie, havarti and manchego. The sauces all sounded so amazing: balsamic apricot fig, almond pest aioli, jalapeno cilantro cream, chocolate sauce and dulche de leche. Add-on options include smoked ham, prosciutto, rosemary and basil.Since I was a burro virgin and have fond memories of France, I went with the first side of the menu and ordered the croque madame. Every bite of my sandwich made me happy. It was alternately savory and sweet, with delicious melted fontina cheese and thinly sliced ham, pesto aioli and a whisper of the dulce de leche sauce. My favorite bites were the fried chewy end pieces of the sourdough bread with the baked in cheese attached, so yummy!I highly recommend the side of olives and cocktail pickles ($2), which is a perfect compliment for grilled cheese. On my next visit Im going to save room to try the fried pears ($4).
