Showed up at 6:03 and they close the doors on me on 8th. They wouldnt even acknowledge me. I was just there to pick up an online order. They wouldnt answer the phone. No wonder they went out of business in Cedar park. I spent thousands of dollars here, but would rather shop online if this is the kind of customer service they have.

We went to the Leander Kite Festival at Devine Lake Park on Saturday, and visited the HobbyTown booth.  I told them I needed to buy a kite, that I’d never flown one before and I was nervous about not being able to get it flying.  One older gentleman (I didn’t get his name) recommended a super simple kite and offered to put it together for me.  I did it myself, with his guidance.  Another kind gentleman, named Arthur, helped me get it flying.  He didn’t even have to run it, he waited for the right moment and let the wind take it!Everyone at the HobbyTown booth was very friendly, and it was fun to watch them help others get their kites flying.  They made my day, and I figure that deserves a good review.

I usually come for the huge selection of RCs and parts, but they have everything from models and paints to electric trains and toys. The staff has helped me sort through my parts and upgrade needs many times and really know their stuff. I usually price check online but its hard to find lower prices than hobbytown, and walking into this particular store is always so much more satisfying than ordering online. This is the only place you need for everything hobby in Austin.

That started shopping with them 3 years ago RC cars and trucks and their staff is very helpful knowledgeable and I learned a lot from them I still buy my parts there very good store and staff youd enjoy it by an RC today

One of the workers with gray hair was a big a hole. Was about to spend 230 on a rc car already it being a toy. 230 is alot. Additionally It needed a battery and charger. It wouldve totaled to 340. 340 for a toy. Manager was very unprofessional with comments like 75 bucks for this charger, but you dont wanna spend that much in a sarcastic tone. Just not something you wanna be telling your customers when 230 is what he makes in 3 days. So his comment was unprofessional.

Recently I’ve become a Hobby Town enthusiasm just purchasing everything from gliders to jet planes to multiple RC cars… No matter the time of day, everybody from Brad to Ethan to Jeremy to DJ and even the owner have been patient with me while assisting with knowledgeable information to help me pick the best item to suit my preferences. Also, any and all repair requests have been kindly promptly completed by the team! Keep up the good work!

Good selection of gundams and other stuff!

Recently i visited the hobbytown on parmer in austin texas and was excited to start my rc journey. i spent over 1000.00 dollars in less than a week purchasing multiple rcs and upgrades i purchased two latrax cars the rally car and the truck as well as a blade helicopter and another associated mini truck as well as chargers and upgraded batteries and upgraded brushless 2 in one motor system the whole shabang i was excited. the first day nothing but problems with the esc on the brushless system, i took the truck in and the manager whom didnt seem to care to much verified that there was an issue with it and i need to contact horizon hobby which has been done as well that day and still not heard back from them either. on top of the products being sub-par the service was awful from the manager, the way he spoke to his employees was completely unprofessional and id expect more from a corporation. i prefer to shop local and support smaller businesses versus amazon however amazon customer service as awful as it is, is still better at this point i dont even mind spending more money to have the personal one on one warm inviting experience which was not received at all...i will say that im truly dissapointed in my experience especially just starting this journey has put a bad taste in my mouth for sure. and im still sitting here with a bad motor that nothing has been done about

Today they had every paint color I wanted in stock. They are low on Gundam kits right now though.

The staff are extremely friendly. No matter the outcome, I always have a good experience visiting this store. It feels like nostalgic, personable, a place youd want to hang out.With that being said I just really wish theyd keep some modern technologies in stock. Im not looking for anything particularly crazy but being into fpv fixed wings and multirotors, I havent been able to find any parts I was looking for.

Its ok. Dont buy anime figures here some are hella expensive, but if youre looking for action figure repair stuff, model cars and trains items, and other stuff like that good place to go.

The guys are very helpful and very nice. I do wish they would do a better job on consistency, when it comes to how they support the product they sell. I got a Traxxus from this location and week later something broke. I took it in and they said Traxxus has a warranty and one of the nice associates got on a call and had them send the part to the store and in return they gave me one they had in stock... AWASOME.. My neighbor got a similar Traxxus from the Cedar Park location. He got a total different response. He was told that they cant help him, but to call Traxxus, which he did and they are sending him a new part which will take few weeks to arrive. A few days later, another part in the Traxxus I got from this location had an issue again. I went in expecting the same level of service, but I was told to call Traxxus. This was them without even looking at the car. I told them what they did last time for me and then the associate took the time to call Traxxus and get the issue fixed. Just like the last time they gave me the part and sent me on my way. AWASOME..Now here is my dilemma. I like to buy local so I dont have to give my money to Amazon of the world. Small business is good for my community. I wish Hobby town would be more consistent when it come to support after the sale. When selling the product, they could have done a better job in setting the expectation after the sale, when it pertains to support and warranty. They can take the approach that after the sale we are hands off when it comes to warranty repairs and that I would need to call Traxxus for the issue. The other option would be to offer something Amazon of the world cannot offer. On-site support for the product they sell that are under warranty. If Traxxus is willing to ship the parts to them and all they need to do is give me the one in stock they why not give that added value of buying from them versus Amazon.I tell my staff be the Zebra in the herd of horses. You have to stand out and offer something your competitors dont. In that I feel Hobby Town still have room for improvement.Over all I like to shop at Hobby Town just keep in mind not all Hobby Town are the same but I wish they were. Consistency is important because it help set the expectation.

One of the largest selections of gunpla ive seen in awhile for decent prices. Also has a decent selection of vehicle model supplies, terrain makings, and hobby paint.

What a cool place the staff is awesome

Knowledgeable and friendly staff pointed me in the right direction to get my Nitro truck back on the track after 15 years on the shelf. Was also able to pick up a new motor for my boat locally instead of getting it shipped online. I like to shop locally so Ill spend my money here whenever possible and Id suggest you give them a shot to do the same.

Went in to get a good deal of paint and other supplies to get back into gundam model making. When there an employee took a call about master grade gundam models from a customer. Not only did the employee not know how to differentiate between model types (which take a good chunck of the store) I told the employee how to tell the difference. Well after he hung up he goes I dont know what that meant but it must be japanese for I need to get a girlfriend.I walked out. I dont want to shop at a hobby shop that makes fun of people for being into things that they themselves sell. If you dont like that customer base dont sell those items.

This store is pretty darn cool! They carry a nice inventory of nostalgic toys for all sorts of ages. Neat and clean... Impeccable customer service with knowledge!

This place is what keeps this whole shopping center relevant. Feel like going to Frys but dont want to cry? Give HobbyTown a try. Friendly staff, hard to find speciality parts in stock, and good location. Every time Ive needed soldier or a small enamel paint on the weekend theyve had what I needed.

This is a nice local hobby shop, for those looking for supplies for their hobby. They have a little of everything, and particularly seemed focused on radio controlled toys. I would recommend this for a stop.

They are a bit expensive however they do offer hobby grade items and not just toys.The staff are all experienced and knowledgeable about the hobby items they sell.Wide selection to choose from, in a range of RC crafts. Fun stuff like Chinese Paper Lanterns, Metal Art puzzles as well as detailed wooden puzzles!They even offer many games, toys and crafts for the youngest family members.

1st time in store recently looking for a birthday gift for 11 year old son. The staff pointed me in the right direction for both a RC truck and boat suited to the needs for entry level. If youre done spending money at Target for cheap cars that are slow and dont last this is the place for you.

Customer service is 5*. These guys are great, always ready to help and answer questions. The store is 5*, well organized and fully stocked. I will not even consider going somewhere else.

Decent selection. Typically helpful staff. Convenient location to work etc. Sometimes awkwardly friendly staff but no reason to deduct based on that. Giving 4 stars as Ive run across quite a few parts they dont carry. Overall good place though!

MAYBE IT WAS THEIR NIGHT OFF............................Unless I walked in with a stack of money hanging out of my mouth and in each hand (or shopped there frequently), I was practically invisible, until I walked up to the register to actually give them money to pay for my merchandise.Lots of good items, but very lame and worthless employees...not once did any of them offer me any help. Instead they concentrated on (and fluffed) another customer for 15 full minutes, who probably visits that store a lot.

Its a good place for some hobbies but for others like drones and 3D printing which is what Im really into it is not good at all. Also prices are overblown quite a bit especially when Frys is right across the street and sells everything they sell plus more. Ive Loved HobbyTown since I was a kid but it seems that times have changed and Frys electronics is the new leader.

Super helpful staff, great selection of stuff. Any hobby you are interested in they have something for you. Break your stuff? Dont throw it away! Chances are, one of the knowledgeable, helpful staff will be able to find you some parts to get you up and running again. If youve ever been interested in looking into a hobby, you have to go visit them! They are packed with inventory! Highly recommended.

I always enjoy looking around and asking the staff questions. The on hand stock is great meaning when I need a part I can usually get it here. I have never had a bad experience working with the staff here.

Great staff and the Gundam selection may not be as expansive as the one in cedar park, but it certainly makes up for it by having some rarer kits and also by having a large rc selection

Wonderful stuff for the nerdy hobbyist. Make sure you double check for prices online before purchasing. Found a small drone that was priced at 50 in store for 40 online.

I went to see if I could get a charger for my drone. Unfortunately I couldnt find the charger but the man I talked to was too cool for school. He came up with an idea about a conversion charger.... Great atmosphere

I would have given this store a Five Star Rating, bu they have completely Stopped selling Anything which has to do with Gas, or Nitro Aircraft. They dont sell engines, gas Props, Or anything else for Has powered aircraft. This is a Big Mistake because Gas power IS coming back in Force. I need to find another place to get my Gas powered Airplane supplies. I suppose I will just start doing ALL of my Aircraft shopping online from here on out.

Great place to visit. Wonderful atmosphere. Awesome flight simulator up front. Found many nitro rc vehicles, aircraft, and even electric trains. Had a great time, many hard to find things.

Above and beyond customer service. I worked directly with Chris, the owner, about a return issue and had it quickly resolved in one day. It also happened to be the day after Christmas and they could not have been any busier. My experience lead me to believe this store will do anything within reason to ensure complete customer satisfaction. This has been my only issue after shopping here for more than 15 years and has reaffirmed my customer loyalty.

As a long time scale modeler, Im glad that places like this still exist. More and more you are seeing the extinction of models and model supplies at the bigger stores so you end up needing to order everything onlineBut with a place like this down the road its so much better to go and put your hands on exactly what you need

It is refreshing to shop at a store where the staff is knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. They dont just sell RC vehicles, they collect, modify, play and race them. Many thanks to Chris for guiding me though my purchase!

This place is so fun. They have RC cars, planes, kites, science kits and hobby kits galore. I also found the best kite ever here so it will always hold a special place in my heart. Parking has never been an issue for me. PRO TIP they host special events near the Frys parking lot. (car races and such) Call the shop and ask about these events.

Hobby Town USA has to be the greatest hobby shop within 200 miles. I have great experiences every time I find myself looking for a new toy or hobby.Chris, the owner sets out to make sure customer service is the best it can be. I had an issue where I purchased an RC and the price dropped several hundred dollars. There was nothing much Chris could do but he did all he could to make it right. I will continue to support Hobby Town USA, their staff, and their attention to detail with their customers.

If youre into models or remote control cars/planes, then this is your local source. They also have stuff for the general hobbyist and diorama builder, but the selection can be limited. I also didnt see a huge selection for the model train enthusiast, although you can find the basics there.

This store is so cool! I could spend all my money here! Everyone working here has a grear understanding of everything in the store, and theyre all super nice, helpful, and friendly! I cant wait to go back!!

Decided to stop by on a whim. I felt like a kid again...the feeling of nostalgia hits you as soon as you walk in the door. They stock quality goods of lots of different hobbies and have high-end RC car, boat, and plane kits. The staff is really friendly and knowlegeable and will have answers to any questions you might have. That really helps for someone like me, who was new to the RC car market. They have community events for the various hobby groups and member forums. I had a problem with my particular model and had to contact the owner, Chris. He was professional and courteous and he returned my email within 24 hrs of my initial inquiry. He and his staff were very pleasing to work with. I highly recommend you use their expertise and professionalism and ask them many questions you might have about anything you are interested in buying. They will have all the specifics and information you need and will help you to make an informed decision on which model suits you best.

Good selection, the staff however did not seem to be knowledgeable. Asked a couple questions on RC boats know one could answer it. I then asked about brush less motors and ESC again they could not help. They have two locations not to far apart. I visited the other location a couple weeks later. I had much better luck there. They were able to answer all my questions and provide great advice.

This store is great! They have everything you can think of. I have been in there a few times for gadgets and puzzles. The staff there was always willing to show me around the store and had helpful advice and recommendations on RC toys for just getting started. I have seen some of the staff racing their cars out there on Saturdays so i am sure they are knowledgeable enough to handle pro questions as well. I am on the United Way Committee at work and they were kind enough to donate a car to one of our raffles. Taking care of the race community and helping where they can in our every day community. I cant speak for all Hobby Towns but this one is an A+ in my book!!Update: Was in need of some neodymium magnets and showed up to the store early to wait for them to open. They actually opened 6 mins early and were extremely helpful. Great vibe here.

Wonderful place to by all your hobby needs from painting to car building. Bought an RC here at a cheaper price than eBay or any other online store could offer. Staff was savvy of his products and knew what he was talking about. I recommend this place to anyone with a hobby who needs a place to shop cheap.
