At this point this review is related to excellent customer service that I received very recently. When I get my first basket of the products I ordered I will leave another review on the products themselves.I am participating in a forthcoming zoom event and decided to purchase the chili dog package as our whole family loves chili dogs adults and children alike. I was also privileged to participate in some additional products from farmhouse delivery. Unfortunately, I forgot to put the information in my recent order and the time had passed for me to add it to my order. When I realized this, I sent a note to Farmhouse and hoped for the best. Much to my delight they responded first thing this morning, only a few hours after I had sent them the email.I received a communication from Casey S. regarding my specific situation advising me they would fix the problem for me and I would see the products in my order, which I will be receiving on my order day which is Thursday (tomorrow in this particular instance.)I am very impressed by the rapid response and the ability to solve my problem from one email advising them of my situation.Frankly, customer service is as important, if not more important to me than the product itself in 99% of everything I purchase. It was very easy for me to give them a five star rating in the customer service department. Thank you Casey for your prompt response and for solving my problem!!
One of my favorite companies in Austin! What a fantastic idea that is being executed so well.Local, responsibly produced foods organized in such a delicious manner; we are excited for dinner every night now that we’ve subscribed to the meal kits. For the price, I can’t compete nor think of a better option. The time it saves and the quality provided is tremendous. On top of all that, Farmhouse Delivery occasionally throws in free stuff or awesome coupons. They make sure to over deliver and have earned themselves a loyal customer.Thank you! Keep up the great work!
I really love the ability to get access to products I would normally need to go to the farmers market, delivered to my home. And I love the idea of the sustainable packaging.Unfortunately, I dont live in a large home, and sometimes I end up with so much packaging its a problem (they separate the items so much). Ive had several instances of items Ive ordered not arriving, despite being on the packing list. The first time I called and corrected it. The second time, within the same month, I decided to downgrade them from weekly groceries that I rely on to monthly groceries I use for treats and to support local businesses.A more minor (but expected) problem was that some of the vegetables would arrive needing to be eaten that day, or already turning. Thats kinda normal for local farming, and I had a tolerance for it, but if you are going with a service like that you should have your expectations set appropriately and order 10-15% more vegetables than you think youll need, and be ready to be creative with what arrives.I really wanted to love them, but they just werent reliable for me as an on-going delivery source. I will still continue to use them, and recommend them, just with the caveat.
Outstanding - I have access through Farmhouse to great produce and local foods Id have trouble getting myself, and Im able to support local farms as well. Once in a while something is missing or wrong - a very normal occurrence with delivery services; Ive tried several - Farmhouse staff adjusts it BEFORE the order is charged, courteously and cheerfully. I am so pleased with them - I started with them when the lockdown began, and they continue to be excellent.
Quality products at very good prices. Everything from meal kits, pre made items, quality meats and farm fresh produce. If there are questions or problems the service is backed by a very high level of customer service.
Ive been a customer for about two years now and I love Farmhouse. I get a weekly bushel and I have added on some staples - like eggs and a growler of kombucha. The meat bundles are terrific and I love the flexibility I have with the ordering process. But the very best part is the peace of mind that I am getting the best food for my family and doing the right thing by purchasing from our local farmers and ranchers.
Last week they missed several items on the order and were supposed to credit my account for those items for this weeks delivery. However, this week, they texted that they had delivered my order but they never did. I called several times and was told that I would be called back. So far no one has. My neighbor also gets deliveries from them and last week they also left my neighbors items at my house. This is no way to run a business. I dont plan to use them again. Its too much of a hassle on something that is supposed to be hassle free. I now need to get my account credited for the amount charged.
I love being able to order delicious local food and the flexibility of being able to order 1 or more meal kits without a contract. Food is delicious and staff are always helpful when I have questions or an order issue.
We use Farmhouse for all of our grocery shopping! We get our produce box each week and love trying the different meat options (their bison and shrimp are our favorite!). They have so many grocery options there really is no need to go anywhere else. On top of that, they have incredible in-house Farmhouse Kitchen products - we love the Garlic Magic, Basil Pesto, Romesco Sauce - really you cant go wrong! Highly recommend giving them a try.
Love, love, live Farmhouse Delivery! We do the meal kit and add groceries and extra meals as needed. The recipes are simple and delicious and the variety of groceries they offer is great. I love that it’s local and that they’re delivery bag/bins are reusable, you don’t end up with a bunch of cardboard and plastic like you do with other delivery services.
I tried this service once, ordering over $150 worth of meat and veggies and feel totally ripped off. I didn’t receive the products promised and those received were subpar quality at best and a lot of throwaways. Moldy fruits and veggies upon delivery, two pounds of “tainted” boar meat leaving it inedible and feeding to the dog (at $10 a pound I’m paying for meat I expect much more or at least better quality than what I got). No chicken breast (as listed on items to expect) among many other disappointments. As much as I loved the idea and was thrilled to support a local Austin business there are much better other services out there. I’ll never order again and can’t recommend them.
This is definitely our go to farm fresh food source. The delivery convenience, selection, ease of ordering and the absolute best customer service is really hard to beat. The folks that work here are very warm and kind. You can tell they love what they are doing. I love that they are doing it to provide us with healthy foods and its also healthy for the environment. I used to have a host of health issues, but after much prayer and the blessing of finding fresh food sources Im so thankful Farmhouse Delivery exists.
The quality of their produce and meat is superb, but delivery fulfillment and customer service is severely lacking. Have had several missing items, and just had a complete wrong order delivered.
Love, love, love Farmhouse Delivery and their meal kits. I left for six weeks to try the competitor, Lettuce, and came running back to Farmhouse. Their customer service rocks, their meals are delicious and healthy, their produce and meat is fresh and local and supports local farms. I can add many other items to my meals like eggs, hummus, cheese, etc. I have not needed to go grocery shopping for the past 2 years except for household items nor have I had to think about meal planning. Farmhouse has changed my life for the best! Thank you.
The Customer Service is incredible. They work extremely hard to get everything that’s been ordered and supporting local is the best feeling. Love farmhouse!
I really wanted to like this service. I love the idea of supporting a local business and local farmers. It was also a bit of an adventure to learn about new fruits and vegetables that I wouldnt typically buy. Initially we had the option to list dislikes to have some control of what was received, however with the covid19 spike in demand, you can no longer do that if you subscribe to a produce delivery so you have no control over what items you will receive. You just get a surprise box of very expensive items of things you cant really cook with. The portion sizes are not proportional to each other and not consistent week over week. One good things is they are very generous with greens and have a wide variety of fresh kale, spinach, chard, lettuce etc but they give teeny portions of fruit and root veggies. A lot of the time the fruits and veggies are moldy and gross. This is supposed to be fresh from the farm but everything is older than what you can get from the supermarket. They also deliver groceries, meat, eggs, bakery items etc but the prices are insane. For example they sell Malk almond milk for 8.99 for a 28oz bottles but the bigger 32oz bottle is sold at target for 4.99! This is true for all their items. They sell strawberries for 8.49 a pound which is more than double the price of organic strawberries anywhere else and I guarantee that you will throw most of it away because it will be disgusting and rotten. So if you are shopping for a family it gets very expensive very quickly.Overall I am keeping my subscription until we get through this pandemic as a supplement to what I can get from HEB but I will definitely think about cancelling once this is all over.
Great service and feel good supporting local food here in Austin. Prices are no more than Whole Foods and it’s delivered to your door every week. Has changed the way I cook, now I use ingredients that are in season, not just what is on sale.
I am not sure if my experience is an isolated event. I found out Farmhouse Delivery charged me ~ $40 more than what was in my invoice/order summary. Upon contacting the customer service, I was told that there was a $9.99 subscription fee for 1st buyer, and the other $30 discrepancy came from the the fact that 2 bags of chicken (~5 lbs) were delivered, even though I ordered 2 lbs. The interesting thing is how farmhouse delivery kept the definition of “order quantity” vague. From the perspective of customer, it is natural to assume the “quantity” refers to lbs, given that the cost in original invoice is calculated by $8.99 x 2 = $17.98. But apparently the “2” is interpreted by farmhouse delivery to be 2 bags of 2.5 lbs/bag chicken. The logic is unclear to me, and It is hard to judge whether the “flexible” interpretation is put in place by design. The produce delivered was of reasonable quality though. No complaints in that aspect.
I love Farmhouse Delivery for their wonderful selection of produce, meat, dairy, and eggs for my family and me, but today I wanted to share a different reason why I am so grateful for their services. Two weeks ago I thought Id lost my wedding and engagement rings forever - a very long story short our daughter told us she threw them away, and I was trying to come to grips with their loss. Yesterday I received a call from our delivery driver, Amanda, who told me she was going through my old bags before she left and found two rings at the bottom of one of the bags (!!!!!!). To say I am overwhelmed with gratitude would be the greatest of understatements. A million thank yous to Amanda and Farmhouse Delivery for brining my precious things back to me - it takes a special person to do the right thing when no one is watching, and I am forever and ever grateful.
We have used Farmhouse delivery for the past 3 years or so and have enjoyed the quality, variety, and the process completely. Its a fun game to see whats in the bushel each week. One kid off to college to we adjusted to a bit more in each delivery but every other week which is great to be so flexible. Some of their items are a bit expensive for what they are but the guarantee and quality support this.
Excellent quality and customer service. Lots of great items available for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike!
Poor quality, bad service and overpriced. do not recommend
6/14/2020 I want to update this review to inform everyone that after posting the following review, I was almost immediately contacted by Ms. Megan Prast, director of customer experience for farmhouse delivery. Ms. Prast apologized for the bad experience we had and went out of her way to make amends and to have us try the service again. Ms. Prast was very fair with us and we have since used Farmhouse Delivery again. This time our experience was satisfactory and I am hopeful the if any problems arise in the future, Farmhouse Delivery will continue to be responsive to us.In retrospect, I think the service makes good sense to encourage local growers with our business. The products are more highly priced than in the grocery stores, but that is okay with me in order to support our local farmers.Sincerely,Peter WolvertonThese people are very dishonest and unresponsive. I advise against doing business with them.My son gave us a $100.00 gift certificate to Farmhouse Delivery for Christmas 2019. When we returned to San Antonio in late March 2020 we set up our account online and claimed the certificate. We called and confirmed with a lady by the name of KayCee that our account was set up and the credit was posted to our account. We then had to wait until April 28 for our first delivery by reason of the crush created by the pandemic which was understandable. Our first delivery was incomplete and the produce was only fair in quality and grossly overpriced. The invoice was for $49.98 including a one-time set up and bag charge of about $10.00. However, the charge was made to my credit card rather than against the $100.00 credit from my son. Assuming there was just a mistake, I called Farmhouse Delivery and left a message when no one answered the phone. I called many times thereafter and never was able to talk to anyone nor did I ever receive a call back despite my detailed phone messages. I sent emails as well, none of which were ever answered. I then filed a billing dispute with AMEX and they credited the $49.98 charge after investigating my complaint. Still I have never had a response from Farmhouse Delivery. The result of this experience is a loss of $50.02 from the gift from my son, a single partially-filled order of mediocre produce, an unresponsive team at Farmhouse Delivery, and a very bad taste in my mouth.
Farmhouse Delivery is the best thing thats happened to me in a long time! I am a busy person whos constantly on the go and I hate eating fast food more than anything in the world. Farmhouse delivery drops fresh produce, scratch-made bread, and all kinds of pantry staples on my doorstep. I like that the produce comes from farms in my area and its nice to have a variety with every delivery so that I dont eat the same thing every week. Recently these guys started including recipe cards with my delivers that include quick ways to prepare some of the items that were in my bushel. Farmhouse is a good value and super convenient. I would recommend it.
Farmhouse generously delivers weekly to our remote spot just outside Austin city limts. We love the inventive supper club meals too (highly recommend). Local organic farm produce delivered to your table, what could be better?
I love Farmhouse Delivery! I get a medium bushel of fresh, local produce delivered to my door every other week. Its super convenient and keeps me motivated to cook healthy meals for myself. There are lots of great additional items to add-on as well.
Really enjoy this service. Good produce and can also buy meat, eggs, etc. as well, delivered to the front door, while supporting local farmers and food artisans.
Great service, and Im really enjoying the meal kits and Farmhouse kitchen items!
Farm house delivery had a cooking presentation for a group of people in which I had the opportunity to take part. I was astonishing with how easy it was to make a spiral sweet potato dish! They made it live in front of us and allowed us to get a taste of mixed fresh veggies with a splash of lime, liquid aminos and my personal favorite red wine vinegar; delicious!
Farmhouse provides fresh produce to your door! They also have a variety of locally sourced products from fresh meats to pasta sauce! I really like their bundle packages for ready to cook meals - great ingredients and you know where your groceries are coming from! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful - I highly recommend!!!
An extra, unexpected $20 fee charged was not a good surprise. I have emailed twice and called about 3 times to find out about this charge and received no response. I was a happy Greenling customer but the customer service (or lack thereof) of Farmhouse is very disappointing.
Our weekly Farmhouse Delivery bushel is like having Christmas every Friday. We love getting fresh fruits and vegetables, some of which we have never tried before, and incorporating them into our meal plan for the week! I stumbled upon FHD while looking for farm fresh eggs and milk - we get 2 dozen eggs and 4 gallons of fresh milk every week right off the farm delivered to our door. Great service from people who care!
Several years back I received my first Farmhouse Delivery bushel. After being a member of other companies of the same service, I can say hands down, Farmhouse Delivery had the best produce, customer service, and local variety. The thing I like most about this company is that they are truly local. In a time when that word gets thrown around, the closer you look, the more you find that many other companies are pulling inventory from all over the place. Farmhouse sources from farms right here in Texas. Because of that, they are also truly seasonal. When trying to make a positive impact on the current food systems, I believe these two things to be undeniably important. In addition, they are often throwing eclectic fun events (Shakespeare in the park, Gumbo cook-off, EAUFT, etc) that benefit many of Austins non-profits! I highly recommend them!
WENT TO FOOD HEAVEN.....best best best of all food products in this area..probably on the planet. An air conditioned van visits your home with pre ordered clean food from farm to table and staff could not be more accomodating .....you will want to move back on the farm after this. RUN to sign up!
So far Im in love with the service and food. I have cancer and its hard for me to cook or grocery shop on bad days. This has helped me eat healthier.
I buy free range pasture raised non GMO clean eggs from Shirttail Creek Farm through Farmhouse Delivery. The BEST eggs in Texas.UPDATE: Shirttail Creek Farm eggs are now available at Wheatsville! 😊
Liscense plate LBV reckless driving from slaughter all the way down manchaca driving around 290 near Lamar Blvd driver cutting other cars and flicking people off sunday 6/8 around 6pm
Slightly expensive but the quality and options and ability to customize is worth it for me!
This was my first time using Farmfresh delivery. The thought behind this service is great, supporting local farmers all while receiving cleaner locally sourced produce. Unfortunately, the amount of produce for the price is high and no quality control on the produce has made this experience unpleasant. The tomatoes I received were squishy on the bottom, cucumber was squishy not salvagable, and the squash is already starting to go bad. I will be cutting parts of the squash out to salvage some of it. I basically just threw $40 bucks away... My search for a good source of Organic local produce continues!
Actually this is a FARM to TABLE service company... Good seasonal and more produce along with other goods for the discerning kitchen :)
Underwhelming amount of produce for $30 and a surprise $20 “joining fee” that was never disclosed until they charged my card for it. Very unimpressed and will advise anyone I know to either shop directly at the farmers market or to use a different CSA service.
Farmhouse is amazing! I love their fresh produce and great selection of local meats.
Farmhouse Delivery is quite possibly my favorite Austin business! Not only do they keep my table blessed with the finest local produce and artisanal goodies, but they are 110% committed to supporting local farmers and food curators who grind it out daily to make our world and bodies a better place. FHDs success is attributed to pure love and compassion for what they do.
Delicious locally grown food delivered to your door.
Awesome company delivering fresh local produce right to your door
Amazing, amazing fruits and veggies and an awesome group of people dedicated to clean food produced by local farmers. .
We had two boxes delivered and proptly cancelled.First off, I am coming from a place where our farm-to-door service let us choose exactly what we wanted in our box (they were only partially local). So we are a little spoiled in that regard. These guys dont really give you a choice, they just avoid your dislikes and give you what they have that week. I figured, ok I can live with this. Ill get to try a few new things each box.For our last box we just received, they scratched off 75% of the items we were expecting to get and replaced with totally obscure things that are really hard to cook with. we were given almost no fruit, just a few apples. kind of a bummer. then, our delivery sheet mentioned they had to replace our tomatoes with cucamelon, which were not inside the box. The sheet also said we got hatch green chili peppers, which were also missing. So we ended up with like 25% of what we were expecting to receive and feeling kind of cheated out of what we paid for.Im totally a believer in this kind of service, but man you need to offer some sort of consistency. I get it that local farmers cant just pump out everything you want, and there will be week to week variance and unexpected things happen...but more of an effort could have been made to to make sure the boxes contain what they are supposed to, and then explain when they dont. Our sample size was really small and we are already unhappy.Temper your expectations and dont expect this to be a replacement to grocery shopping.
Good customer service and amazing products.
The bundles are lack luster and their cancelation process is absurd
Great place
Love this concept,
