Saleem is professional, friendly and motivated to give the customer exactly what they want. He never tried to sell me something I didnt need. And he was full of details and tips that would make my experience with hearing aids as trouble free as possible. One year after being fitted, Im extremely happy with the results. Brenda helps make communications with Saleem smooth and simple and I appreciated that a lot.

I was totally impressed by Saleem and Better Hearing Center of Austin. He first spent time to understand why I was in his office and what about my hearing I was looking to improve. Then he examined my ear canals with a video camera so I could see for myself what he was seeing. This was followed by an ear cleaning with him explaining what was going on every step of the way. No part of the visit felt rushed - he took as much time as needed and clearly explained everything he was doing. When I asked about trading in my existing hearing aids, he explained how his foundation takes them in and makes them available to the less fortunate. Hes a total class act.

What an amazing experience! In town on FMLA when my hearing aid went out completely! I called to inquire if they could assist since they carried my hearing aid brand. Brenda who first informed me they were booked solid and didn’t take walk ins due to covid, put me on hold and when she returned told me to call her when I arrived ans they would see what they could do!I arrived and handed her my hearing aid and credit card and when she returned she told me it was my cable which had to be replaced. I was so excited as I had suspected it was more than a battery or filter problem. I was in and out in no time and they saved me so much time and challenge! Needed to have impressions made of my ear and BHC was easy to talk to and professional to work with. Had a hearing test conducted while I was on site and it was much more thorough than anything that Id experienced at my internists office. All paperwork and billing was seamless as well. I had an appointment at The Better Hearing Center of Austin today (2/5/19) and I could not be more pleased with both the experience and the result. This is the 3rd time Ive had my ears cleaned but the first time with the Center. Ill never go anywhere else. The professionalism shown by Brenda and Saleem was top notch. Saleem described every aspect of the procedure to me as he worked and explained what he was seeing. I was in and out in under 30 minutes with a huge feeling of relief. Went for the hearing screening after reading all the good reviews. All the reviews are true and they were very friendly, professional, and thorough. They did not even mention payment, I had to bring it up before walking out the door and of course I made a donation. Class act you wont be disappointed.

I retired from the hearing aid business 12 years ago and like think I know a little about hearing instruments. I also have worn instruments for several years. Saleem office called to remind me of my annual check up a couple weeks ago. My hearing changed a little and Saleem asked me to try there latest aid, Alto 2 pro. I could not believe the difference, it was so natural and clear and comfortable. My voice sounded normal and not tinny. My wife has a very strong voice and in the past when I was wearing my old aids she would hurt when she got in the least bit loud. No longer the case. I am a musician and my hearing is extremely important to me. I recently woke up to find that my hearing was muffled and suspected an ear wax buildup. I made an appointment for the next day and at my visits, Saleem couldnt have been kinder and more professional. He explained exactly what he was doing and went about treating my ears with the utmost care. The most amazing thing is that there was no charge at all for the cleaning (only an optional donation that goes to treating the underprivileged). I will definitely return to Saleem and would recommend him to anyone with concerns about their hearing.

After swimming in our pool my ear became completely blocked. I scheduled an appointment and went in to see Saleem Assaf. Much like the previous reviewer, I contacted the Better Hearing Center because of stuffiness and tinnitus in my left ear that had been driving me crazy for a week. Long story short; Dr. Saleem completely fixed what had become impacted skin and wax in my ear canal. Not only is he a genuinely nice man; he really takes the effort to show exactly what the problem is, and how he is going to fix it. You can tell that he finds satisfaction helping people hear better. He certainly has a customer in me for as long as he practices.P.S. My visit was for an ear clean. I had an ear blockage for a few days that reduced my hearing and causing ear ringing with pain in the evening. It was disrupting my school studies and sleeping. I did an online search for a doctor nearby and luckily found Dr. Saleem who had plenty of 5 star reviews and I would agree. He did a phenomenal job in the examination showing me my blocked ear on tv with a camera and even revealing a developing block in my opposite ear that I actually was beginning to feel the previous day. He cleared both ears which was evident after showing me on camera after the cleaning. I felt instant relief after the cleaning but knowing certainly that my ears were fully clean after shown on tv was mentally relieving as well. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Saleem, he takes time to explain procedures and does a thorough examination. There is no fee for ear cleans, but after great services its hard not to leave a small donation.

Dr. Saleem Assaf and his receptionist were extremely friendly. When I called to set up an appointment, they were out of the office, but I left a message and was called back the very next morning and given an appointment time for that same day! When I arrived, I was attended to immediately. Dr. Assaf listened to my concerns, took a look in my ear, saw wax build up, removed the wax (there was no discomfort at all) and then took me to another room where he did a thorough ear evaluation, testing the range of my hearing. He was so informative and instead of dismissing my concerns as being in my head, he addressed the reasons I was experiencing the weird things happening with my ears, and gave me simple tricks I could do myself to relieve them. All this was FREE and the only thing he asked was that I give a donation of whatever amount I chose because after so many donations, they pay for a hearing aid for somebody needing one. I absolutely love this business and recommend you give them a try because they will treat you very well and they deserve success.

I made an appointment in May 2012 to test my hearing. My family told me I wasnt hearing well--I was only 39 at the time so didnt want to even think about needing hearing aids. I went in and had a great experience with Saleem and Brenda. I have moderate hearing loss and got 2 Oticon Intigas. I love them: great sound, easy to care for them, practically indestructible, very discreet. They are Bluetooth and work with my phone and iPad and TV (I also got the streamer). I recently had issues with both hearing aids. Saleem sent them off for repairs (at no cost to me) and Oticon actually replaced both aids. I couldnt believe it! He also gave me demo aids to wear in the meantime. Awesome customer service. Worth every penny!

I have been accompanying my elderly parents to their healthcare exams for the past 10 years and have never seen more thorough, professional, or compassionate service as we received from Clinician Saleem Assaf and Patient Care Coordinator Brenda MacArthur.My 92-year-old mother has a profound hearing loss which has gotten worse over the years. Her regular ENT and audiologist have told us her problem is primarily in her brain and offered no hope for any improvement. Though her mental acuity is excellent, her quality of life has become intolerable since shes also losing her sight; essentially cutting off her contact with the outside world. I felt we needed a different approach and decided to seek a practice that solely dealt with hearing loss and assistive technology. I selected Better Hearing Center because of its compelling testimonials.We were seen immediately and when Assaf entered the exam room I was immediately struck by his slow, clear voice - my mother had no trouble understanding him! Too many healthcare providers make no effort to ensure that patients - especially the elderly - understand them. Very often Ive witnessed my parents responding incorrectly to questions theyve misunderstood, which can result in life-threatening diagnoses and treatment.Assaf then checked my mothers hearing aids, cleaned them thoroughly, examined her ears, and cleaned them as well. After giving her a series of tests to determine the severity and nature of her hearing loss, he used a device that interacts with her hearing aids and is capable of adjusting the aids features to optimize their performance. This technology has never been used by my mothers previous audiologists, meaning her devises were provided without customization that would have improved their performance. Both of us were then given advice on ways to enhance my mothers participation in conversations. She told Assaf she was very pleased with the improvement in her hearing, and he told her that after 3 weeks, if she wasnt satisfied with the improvement, she could come back and investigate newer hearing aids.As if the experience could have been any better - there was NO CHARGE for the two-hour screening! Costs are incurred only for hearing aids, ear molds, etc. And there was absolutely no pressure to purchase anything. Assaf even gave my mother a couple of hearing aid cleaners she had lost. This has to be the best healthcare experience Ive ever had!

At age 51, I knew I had some hearing loss, and I dismissed what my wife told me, as she is a quiet talking individual. However, when my co-workers started joking and telling me in matter of fact terms that I had a serious hearing loss, I started to investigate what my options were, starting with my doctor, who referred me to a ENT specialist, who in turn said - You need hearing aids, and probably needed them 10-15 years ago! I spoke to my ENTs audiologist, another at a big box store and went to Better Hearing at the referral of my neighbor who also just recently was fitted with hearing aids. After my initial meeting with Saleem, I knew I was at the right place! His testing of my hearing was thorough, and he explained to me all the options. Once I had my HAs we had weekly visits where adjustments were made to ensure the HAs work to peak efficiency for my ears.If you think your hearing is lacking - I would look into hearing aids NOW. I learned from my doctor and Saleem, that hearing lost now is gone forever, hearing aids will slow the rate of loss, and aid your current hearing level. The hearing aids available now are not your Grandmothers type aid. They are extremely high tech with Bluetooth technology that allows you listen/talk on your home or cell phone through your hearing aid, additionally the sound from your TV can be pumped in through your hearing aids... My wife likes them more than I do... When I explained to my sons teenage friends what all they do, they said WOW! (I think a few were envious!) My co-workers now enjoy me speaking a reasonable level, and they are able to get my attention when I am more than just a few feet away from them, not to mention not constantly repeating things on the phone...Saleem and Brenda are true professionals - Im glad I made the move to Better Hearing... It has had a truly positive change in my life!
