Best and most authentic gelato I have eaten in the united states. It tasted like the gelato I tasted back in sorrento and capri. The cherry cream ice cream was delicious and the afogatto so yummy and creamy❤️ also great customer service the manager was so nice .This place is a hidden gem from Austin. Will be back for sure
We stumbled upon this gelato shop 2 mins before they were closing and boy are we glad we did! The staff member there was super nice. Let us sample a variety of flavors but I really loved the pistachio the most! It’s roasted so well and it’s has a deep nutty flavor but also creamy. The Gelato has a perfect texture. Not too soft, not too thick. A really great treat by this food park.
This place is fantastic! I’ve had gelato in Italy many times and this stuff is the real thing. The lemon, blueberry, basil gelato is incredible. Highly recommend!
Incredible ice cream. What a gem of a place! The affogato was soooo good!
Great gelato and very friendly staff. I found the sorbet to be slightly too sweet but it was still amazing and you could tell it was freshly handmade. It was about $7.50 for 2 scoops.
As Italian, I can say this is the authentic gelato! Definitely the best one Ive ever had outside Italy! Every flavor is made from scratch with high quality ingredients, simply delicious! I have recently ordered from them a tiramisù cake for my birthday, I received so many compliments about it from all my guests, it was SO good. On top of that Francesca and Dante are super nice and passionate about their work. This place is a MUST GO in Austin!
Bellissimo! The best tiramisu I’ve ever had. You can order larger portions ahead of time. Very nice owner and you will feel the Mediterranean warmth. Price is reasonable, do not compare with grocery store desserts. Gelato is also delicious. Grazie!
Ok place not offering anything different. Definitely not a 4.9 stars place.
Omg it is wonderful totally Italian and beautiful ingredients. Dont pass up real authentic gelato!
Sincerely the best gelato outside of Italy! Loved the pistachio flavor especially - so authentic. We also took home the tiramisu for later, and it was the most delicious Ive had in Austin. Really nice owner and great customer service. Cant wait to come back!
Wow, what a special place. Tried 3 gelato flavors on my first visit, and it was so deliciously authentic I just couldnt get the place off my mind. Had to go back a second time just 3 days later for the ricotta cannoli and espresso and I was in total heaven. Its been 10 years since I was in Italy, but this is the best Ive had since then, maybe even better. The prices might seem a little high, but you are very much getting what you pay for. Worth every penny! To top it all off, the woman working there is extremely friendly, happy to help, and passionate about her work.
The best gelato ive ever tried even compared to tens of gelato spots i sampled all over Italy. Fran and Dante make the finest quality gelato with some of the most unique flavors. They are the sweetest and most hardworking owners as well.
Have wanted to try this place. Finally came and got some pistachio gelato Togo. OMG! Can’t wait to try everything else. Higher price point, but definitely worth it from time to time .response: Well, Ill be damned! :D Certainly appropriately priced considering. Be back soon !
Great selection of flavors and for the most part the taste and quality are excellent, but I ordered the Affogato and it was horrible! Im not sure if it was just prepared poorly or thats just the was it is supposed to be, but mine was a small scoop of vanilla Gelato in a plastic cup with coffee poured on top and two Graham crackers placed on either side of it to where they were just soggy and gross in the coffee...just was bad, real bad. My wife and kids got small scoops of various flavors that they loved and I tasted them, they were good! The prices are a little outrageous tho as for the 5 of us all getting small scoops and me the Affogato we spent over 30 bucks and the small scoops are just barley over a taster, great for diet or health conscious but really expensive for what you get.
Awesome Gelato!! Way better than anything I’ve had in Austin. Truly authentic, made from scratch and delicious!
Whats unique about the gelato & sorbet here is that they make it themselves. They use natural ingredients that make their deserts taste fresh and full of flavor. I tried a couple of their flavors and decided to go with the strawberry sorbet. Very refreshing to eat on a warm day and has a authentic flavor. The sorbet is light too, so you can enjoy dessert without the guilt of eating a lot of calories. All in all, I enjoyed my visit and would come back.
This is an amazing stop for authentic italian gelato. I have tried the salted caramel and lemon meringue both are out of this world! Dont forget to bring home so tiramisu, its the best.
Wow! Absolutely amazing quality & service! I ordered the fig+goat cheese & hazelnut gelato in a waffle cone, and my husband ordered the almond+pistachio gelato. All the flavors were rich & the consistency was creamy— SO much better than ice cream!!Shout out to the owners who are husband & wife, appreciate your business & hard work! 💪🏼💗
This was a lovely place to visit with excellent Gelato and friendly customer service. I highly recommend the cheesecake gelato!
Forsure the best tiramisu I have eaten so far in Austin (I’ve been to multiple places for tiramisu) but this one is the most Italian tiramisu I’ve ever eaten, you HAVE to try!!
Well worth the drive! Excellent natural flavors and the service is very good. It is an excellent alternative to sugary chain products, make sure you sample a few flavors before ordering, they are that good!
Extremely nice owner and heavenly desserts. What else can anyone ask for.
This gelato is the REAL DEAL! This is by far the most authentic Italian creaminess we’ve found in Austin. They hooked us with authentic Pistacchio, and Stracciatella. Came back this weekend for Rum and Raisin. So good!
After trying the cannoli, I now fully believe that all cannolis should be filled with ricotta. Crisp shell, not too thick. Delicious tiramisu!
SO good. Authentic gelato made from scratch with tastes that made us feel like we were back in Milan. Much needed in the time of coronavirus. 10/10 can’t wait to come back.
Great gelato flavours and a very creamy texture. Our favorite has to be the Almond pistacchio gelato. The lemon, lavender & mint was very refreshing and light.
Amazing little Italian spot! The gelato and cannolis were incredible and the owner is so kind. Highly recommend!
Amazing gelato and great customer service! Love their instagram page as well! Overall great experience 😍 will be back!!
Amazing!! I had the lemon 🍋 merengue and red velvet.
The only place in Austin with worthwhile tiramisu. The ice cream is also really good. The dairy free flavors are just as good as the regular flavors.
We stopped by in the 100 degree Texas heat and were blown away! I got the Lavender lemon and a homemade canolli dipped in chocolate chips and pistachios! everything was so light and fluffy and delicious and really hit the spot!
Best gelato Ive ever had and even better people! The owners are amazing and go out of their way for their customers.
Best in town, probably beat in Texas! Totally fresh and natural. Try the pistachio and the banana.
We came to visit our daughter and son in law from Ohio, and they have heard that Dolce bacio gelato was a good place to try. We loved it!!!! The gelato is so soft and light that I could have a ton and not feel overwhelmed by the flavors. So yummy and not too sweet, we are going to have to go back next time we come to Texas. The service was wonderfully friendly as well. Overall they deserve nothing but a 5 star rating.
Ive had many different flavors. All have been amazing. This is our favorite dessert place now.
So authentic! I could see the owner literally making right in front of me. She was so nice and her Gelato is one of the best Ive had here!
Rude owner. Chases ppl down over napkins. Her rudeness is easily displayed with the angry cursing emoji she has placed in the replies of this review. Customer service and her ability to own up to issues she creates is trash. Owner edited the review to remove the cursing angry emoji after being called out lol. Dont go here, there are plenty of other gelato shops in Austin to support that will be kind to people and also own up to problems and address them professionally. Also what does the be careful mean you keep editing your response to appear more professional, sounds threatening to respond to someone in this manner when they are writing a review of the business. From the other review I see on here Dolce Neve gelato on 1st street seems like a much better option. This review is on facts of what the female owner has done to a customer. Reviews are open for people to write their experiences. If you aren’t open to hearing about people writing of negative experiences they’ve had with this company or people grabbing a napkin you shouldn’t have a business.
Love this place. They are super friendly and make the best gelato in Austin...heck maybe all of Texas... I would definitely recommend you stop by and try it out.
Best gelato in America, its in fact better than the gelato I had in stresa Italy. The guy that runs the truck is a true gelato chef and is the kindest guy Ive met. Also had some fun facts about gelato being better than icecream, which I dare say his is!
Delicious! All the desserts are awesome.
Absolutely amazing gelato. The owners are also so nice, very helpful when I am not sure what gelato to get. Black Hawaii is my favorite :)
We were in Austin visiting from Georgia. We went to Italy in December and had some of the best gelato we’ve ever had. We’ve been looking for gelato that was as good as that and we found it in Austin Texas. Who would have thought! Looking forward to our next visit to try some other flavors. Very friendly owner. Thanks for doing it right!
I was craving ice cream around that area and searched for it and this was the first choice to get a quick ice cream, once I got there I realized it was Gelato. It was my first time eating gelato and totally LOVED it! I don’t care if I have to drive a 45 mins to have this again. I don’t know if the lady that works there is the owner or an employee, but she was very very professional and very friendly. I would totally give this place 1 million stars if I could.
Quickly became my favorite gelato place in town, which was previously Lick and Teo’s. Unique flavors that change frequently. Just had the Goat Cheese & Fig and the Peach, Mango, & Rose Water. Both delicious!
First time and this ice cream was amazing!!!! I will tell more ppl about this hidden gem...
Pretty expensive. My favorite gelato place has been Dolce Neve gelato on 1st street. I wanted to try out another gelato place. You can really taste the difference right away. Dolce Neve is so much better and they have a big selection. Plus it’s not as expensive. Couldn’t even finish it
Wow! This is a real Italian gelato! You can definetely taste the fresh ingredients inside, not the artifical flavorings I usually taste when I have ice cream or fake gelato here in U.S. The owners are super friendly and kind, they gave me few samples explaining me how they make it. I had strawberry sorbet (made with fresh fruit!!) and the pistachio..man..wow! Amazing! Has been definetely like be back home. They also have othet desserts like cannoli or handmade Tiramisu!Best gelato in Austin, highly recommended
With their Gelato I found a piece of Italy in Austin.Delicious gelato like the owners ❤️Forza ragazzi 💪🏽❤️
You can tell the owner is really dedicated to his craft. Hands down the best Gelato Ive had.
Amazing Italian gelato and amazing people! When I miss Italy I come here, have some stracciatella and talk to Francesca and Dante. They are kind, friendly and 100% Italian! I really feel at home here...
So good!
AMAZING gelato! Francesca is friendly and is so passionate about her business! Incredible experience and delicious vegan options! Will definitely be returning!
Love how passionate the chef is here who prepares all of the gelato. He wants you to enjoy your dessert and is confident that you will. Definitely a weekly tradition
Francesca is super nice and is incredibly passionate about the gelato she makes. She let me try a few flavors while I waited for my poke bowl from Poke Me Long Time, so after I had dinner I went back and got a cup of the best coffee gelato I think I have ever had! Every flavor I tried was delicious, you cant go wrong.
Pistachio was soooo good. And they had a walnut/Nutella gelato hidden, amazing. They’re closed in December but will be back end of January. Def recommend, they’re really nice as people as well.
Go for the gelato, but stay for the amazing humans that are the heart and soul of this remarkable business! The flavors they create are phenomenal and unique, but they also have everyones traditional favorites. Francesca is sure to remember you if you are a repeat customer, and she makes you feel like youre a lifetime friend. This is definitely the BEST gelato in Austin.
Having a company luncheon at Hull Supply i tried the lemon gelato and it was delicious thanks i know where you are located not no more ice cream or snow cone i am hooked ...
The best tiramisu I have ever had in my life! I am really looking forward to their gelato next time I am in town. An absolute must visit place for dessert-lovers!
Just had the most amazing cassata cannoli here! The chef let us try several flavors and they were all incredible. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. Get one of everything!
Dante came to one of our parties and set of the cutest gelato bar. My guests loved it and they loved speaking with Dante. His gelato is delicious and authentic! We will absolutely use him again for our next event!
Amazing place, the chef takes so much pride in her work and takes the time to explain every gelato to you. The flavors are super fresh and authentic. I plan to go back soon to try the gelato taco! 12/10 would try again
Not as good as the reviews
The most incredible gelato I have ever tasted!! I FINALLY had the opportunity to try their gelato at the Austin Rodeo and they did not disappoint.
If you are in Austin YOU absolutely have to try Dolce Bacio! This is real Italian gelato - incredibly tasting! And its not just about the gelato - Francesca and Dante, the owners, are super nice !! I am definitely planning on coming back on my next trip! ;)
This is the best gelato i’ve ever had! They always have new & fresh ingredients — every time I go I’m in for a wonderful surprise. The owners, Francesca and Dante, are such lovely people and are so passionate about making their gelato with fresh ingredients. 10/10 recommend.
This is a hidden gem! We we just passing by and decided to give it a try. We are very picky when it comes to food, especially sweets. But these people make the best tiramisu! Its amazing! And tiramisu ice cream... You have to try it! Difinitely recommend!
My husband and I went to Dolce Bacio last week and it’s the best dessert in Austin! So delish, fresh and we Loved talking to the owner. She loves what she does and it shows! I highly recommend the cannolis. They were too notch! We got pistacho, cookies and cream and then regular ricotta in the cannolis. We will definitely be back, VERY SOON!!
This review is for all of you ice cream fans who, like me, crave ice cream on a regular basis. The kind of ice cream aficionados I’m referring to don’t like to settle for a run to the local corner convenience store or HEB to settle for anything less than delicious homemade ice cream. Well, if you’re lucky enough to live in East Austin or happen to be near the 2200 block of E. Cesar Chavez, you need to check out Dolce Bacio. Francesca, the proprietor of Dolce Bacio and gelato maker supreme will serve you up some of the most delicious gelato you have ever tasted. I ordered the Stracciatella and my friend ordered the Pistachio gelato. We both ordered cones. The gelato was so delicious that we started eating our cones before we realized that we were eating the other person’s cone. So, at about midway into our treats, we switched up and traded. Good strategy. I can’t tell you which flavor was better. They were both fantastic. I’m delighted to have a go to for real home made Italian gelato that is so close by. I think you’ll be delighted too. Thanks Francesca for the exceptional gelato and the little Italian language lesson. So glad that you and your husband decided to open your business in Austin.
Amazing! This gelato is sooooooo good.... I come from Italy and this would be a great gelato also there... Also the desserts are delicious! Congrats to Francesca and Dante for the superb products and service!
Delicious gelato. Reach vanilla, very peachy peach and the strawberry is heavenly.
Great gelato, friendly owner!I had Dolce Bacio’s gelato last night, and it is really perfect taste, consistency and flavor. The owner is very friendly and it was a pleasure to meet her! Will be back!
Proper Italian gealato and other delicious desserts, including excellent tiramisù. Highly recommended to everyone looking for real Italian gelato
Awesome gelato great owners!
The gelato was sooo creamy!! My favorite was milk & cookies.
Delicious super authentic Italian gelato. The real deal... on wheels! Also Francesca (co-owner) rocks!!
Amazing Desserts. The owner explains things really well - very friendly.
Best Gelato ever!I like so much to go there...they always surprised me with unique and seasonal flavors and everytime I think I found my favorite! They hand make all their gelato on their truck with high quality ingredients and fresh fruit.Highly recommended to everybody who looks for superb artisan gelato made by authentic and smiling italian gelato makers!
YALL this gelato is SO good!! It’s like i’m walking on the streets of Florence :) Francesca & Dante are true artists and love their work - everyone needs to go try this place ASAP!
Such charming people and delicious gelato!!
Awesome gelato and great customer service. She helped recommend flavors and pairings. If you find yourself on East 6th definitely check out this cute little authentic gelato stand! Comes with authentic Italian accents!😀
Last night, I had to have gelato. Yes, it was in the 40s outside. Yes, it was raining. But I REALLY wanted gelato. After dismissing several options, we decided on Dolce Bacio and were so happy we did! My husband had the tiramisu (light, not too sweet, a pure delight), while I had a scoop of stracciatella and a scoop of chocolate gelato in the medium cup. The stracciatella was amazing, with just the right amount of dark chocolate shavings. The chocolate was rich, dense, and creamy, everything I want in quality chocolate. The owner herself was so kind and enjoyable to talk to, and we loved hearing her story of how they came to Austin. You can ask for samples of the different flavors, and youll want to, theyre all so good. All in all, an excellent experience of great service and amazing desserts!
Best gelato Ive ever had and the customer service is fantastic!
Authentic desserts from an authentic Italian! Made a quick stop here on the way to our next destination. After perusing the menu, tasting testing gelatos and speaking with the owner about her preferences and personal faves we decided on the affogato (about $5).Creamy, delicious ice cream topped with whipped cream on top of coffee. Does it get any better than that? Together the mix of mildly bitter coffee and sweet creamy vanilla ice cream is the perfect treat while discussing our next stop. The truck offers a variety of desserts from gelatos and sorbets to cannellonis and even gelatos for your pups! I think next time Im in the area Ill try out the cannellonis!
Great Italian gelato! Freshly made, good ingredients: coffee and passion fruit to die for!!!
Canoli was great! Totally recommended!
Brand new Gelaterio on 6th Absolutely The Best.My partner had the chocolate flavour and enjoyed it immensely.I had the Passion Fruit Gelato and OMGoodness!!!! I havent been able to have any passion fruit since leaving Aussie over 2 years ago and this reminded me how much I miss this flavour. It is THAT good.Francesca and Dante are trained artisans who really do know their gelato. Go there, try it, you wont be disappointed!!!
WOW-my wife and I were walking down six street and stumbled on this gelato ice cream truck. We tried four different flavors and all were absolutely delicious. I got the chocolate gelato on a cone and it was as good, or better than any ice cream/gelato that I have tried anywhere – not just in Austin. My wife got Nutellaflavor and also thought it was scrumptious. The only reason I didn’t go back to get a second cone was because my wife shamed me into not doing it. I can’t wait to try the watermelon ice. The service was helpful and top-notch. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We will be back.
Authentic Italian Gelato and Desserts! Finally this is not chemical ice cream but real Artisan Gelato and desserts made from Italian Chefs!
The best Artisan Gelato in Texas!Weve been in Austin on holidays; I met these guys by the chance and I couldnt believe that their gelato is REAL artisan gelato. Usually overseas Italian food is not so good.. Im Italian and I know the real gelato! If you eat Dolce Bacios Gelato you can dream Italy!Love it!
This authentic Italian gelato is hands down the only gelato you should get in Austin. Francesca is very friendly, puts heart into her craft and will recommend her favorites that you gotta try (hint: they’re all good). I went after ramen and enjoyed the best Tiramisu gelato that she made only 20 minutes before.... c’mon tell me that ain’t unreal
IMO the best and most authentic gelato in Austin!
