First of all the kid working the counter does not seem to want to help anyone and seems just stoned or something. I called prior before going there about a few games including Halo 3 and Gears of War and being told they would be anywhere between 5.99 and 10.99 but nope 15 bucks. They charge 30 odd dollars for a copy of the new Spider Man game for PS5 but want to gouge you on old games, a copy of Guitar Hero 3 for over 30 dollars and a copy of Left for Dead 2 for over 30 dollars and tells me its supply and demand? Um no sorry, I called other stores that had them for less but was out of my way and they confirmed different prices over the phone. Ridiculous! Not even Game Stop will gouge like that. Never going back. Oh and to add, they are lacking in customer service skills, also seem to busy talking to their buddies I stead of helping which they do not seem to gave the desire to help at all.

Always a pleasure of shopping there, and BS with Daniel and find some hard to find title for NES to PlayStation to Xbox and handheld just about any game system, over all great place to shop or routinely visit.

They carry alot of retro game/s and retro game related items. Same with new game/s and new game related items. You really have to come in and check the place out for yourself. A hidden gem is what you hear about shops like this one alot since its a really neat shop. They carry a whole lot of stuff.

A friend of mine told me about this place. Looks like he was right. Game Smash is the best video game store I ever been. I sold a few games. Then I bought 2 games there. The employees were very nice as well.

Never buy a controller from here, ever. They sell malfunctional 3rd party controllers advertising them as new when theyre broken straight out of the box, and when I tried to return them they said no because the box was opened they dont accept returns so now thats $100 they have stolen from me for broken paperweights. Unbelievable rip-off.

The employee on the phone was friendly and knowledgeable. Was able to answer my questions when I called. They seem to have everything someone may need for all the older game consoles if you get one that may need parts i.e. the sensor bar for the Nintendo we that my wife and I were buying from Facebook market for our daughter to replace her stolen one. The price he quoted was relative to price in Amazon. I will add more to this about them when I go there.

They were able to give new life to my console for a good price. The staff was easy to work with and all in all, they did a great job. My device has not had any issues well over two weeks later. Definitely coming back if I need any other repairs.

This store carries more used games than other major carriers. They also have hardware for just about every system, new and old, available.

I’ve been a customer since the fix & play days. Truly appreciative that they are still open and thriving. I stop in at least once a week to add to my collection and check for new arrivals. The selection is incredible. They have a lot of vintage and rare collectibles. I enjoy just browsing and soaking in the nostalgia. The prices are consistent with market. The staff are always welcoming and are happy to answer all the questions I ask. I haven’t needed a repair since the 360 red ring of death days, but they are always, ALWAYS, fixing everything in store like the precision video game surgeons they are. These guys know their stuff. They have a passion for what they do. If you’re in need of anything game related, Game Smash is the place to go.

Came in from out of town to take a quick look through the store. The store manager was quite rude to me when I went in. The employee was nice enough, but none too helpful when it came to my questions. When looking around I noticed that a lot of the prices seemed much too expensive compared to other stores and online; much higher than what I would consider making a profit off these items. I do not recommend going to this store.

I love this place. I just started collecting retro gamesz Ive been all over the valley and these guys have the best prices. Very knowledgeable on the old games and collectable games. Way more games here than the other places Ive been to.Definitely my go to shop for retro games.

Great selection of used games. Prices are a little higher than ebay, but you get your have right away. Was pretty busy when I stopped in midday, seems like a lot of people come to get their consoles repaired.

My experience at Gamesmash was extremely disappointing. The employee seemed really agitated everytime I asked a question, and all of the prices were outrageously expensive compared to Fallout Games or Retro Exchange. Most, even more expensive then eBay. The selection of games was great, but everything else in general, made for a poor experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone-Austin

I am extremely disappointed at not only the customer service but also the retro games that I purchased. Let me explain on why I am disappointed. My wife and I wanted to surprise our 4 year old with some classic Mario games for the N64. We called around different places and we fount Game Smash, we noticed it was going to be a hour drive one way so we decided to call before we made that long drive. The gentleman at Game Smash said they had a good selection of Mario games for the N64. Before we made the purchase I asked what there return policy was they said I had a 90 day warranty so we decided to purchase the games. The games were pricey we spent almost $400 on retro Mario M64 games. Went home cleaned them as instructed with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip and we noticed that half the games didn’t work. So I called the store the next day and a gentleman said that a manager has to be present to do exchanges so I called the following day and the manager was present. So I brought the games that didn’t work and the receipt with me and drove another 1 hr one way to exchange the non working games. When I got there I explained the situation and the clerk refused to test the games to see if they worked and screamed, “ALL SALES ARE FINAL!” It’s disheartening that I saved to buy these retro games to play them with my son only find out that they don’t work and I wasn’t allowed to exchange them nor get my money back. Please learn from my experience if you choose to purchase used games or retro games from this place have them test the games in front of you before you purchase them because they will not exchange them nor refund you. Great customer service, brought in a bunch of old games, consoles and my xbox one for repair. They gave me good money for all my old stuff. And cleaned and fixed my xbox one while the other people went threw my old gaming stuff. Highly recommend this company

This is the place to go when you want some retro classic games. Looks well organized inside. Just two things that through me off. Why are the arcade games not on? And the customer service was not helpful. No greet, no assistance while I was shopping. When I asked questions employees gave me a small reply, like I was bothering them.

Directed here from a local Game Stop, and WOW! My nostalgia went up through the roof. Staff was friendly and took time to answer questions. Will definitely be returning for more business.

The store was dirty, disorganized, and gross, their customer service is non existing. The employees are rude and not even close to friendly. They dont pay attention to the people that are looking. Not very knowledgeable as far as I could tell. Wont be going back there.

Been wanting to stop by for awhile and finally had the time. Brought in 6 games to get resurfaced and they did an amazing job! Both gentlemen in there were super nice and very helpful answering some questions for me.Was really impressed with the store, they have EVERYTHING, N64, NES, SNES, GB, you name it!Highly recommend this store! 5 stars!

I was hesitant to use this place because some of the bad reviews, but my son’s Switch stopped accepting game cards four days before Christmas, and his major gift was a new game card 🤦‍♀️. So My options were limited.As soon as we entered, Dan greeted us and complimented my son on the condition of his Switch. That made my mom heart happy. Then he explained that he had stayed late the night before, so there were very few repairs in front of ours, so it would be fixed hopefully that same day. He then talked to my son about Fortnite, and talked to us both about a game I played when I was a kid (Maniac Mansion!) and showed us a few systems. Dan was really cool and made my son’s day.The repair took 24 hours, which I expected and prepared my son for, so we weren’t upset at all. When we came back in to pick it up, I brought in game cards to check the repair, but Damien already had one ready and checked it in front of us without asking. He also explained that there’s a 90 day warranty on the repair, so if it stops working again we can just bring it back in. They were a bit busier today, but Damien was helpful and courteous as well.Overall I couldn’t be happier with the choice to send our switch to them for repair. They finished it quickly & in time to save Christmas, and my son is already asking when we can go back to explore a bit more. Thanks guys!

I do not suggest going to this store. The store owner has time and time again belittled me and my intelligence, they have refused to help me when they sold me broken games or messed up with their repair of my console and they are now selling at inflated prices. I tried to purchase an OG Xbox controller there and it was above 45 bucks. Pokemon Diamond Version is over 200 bucks there. The employees are not rude, but often unsure of things and give bad information (and do not stamp my discs, so if I miss it and there is a problem they do not have to honor my purchase) on games. The owner himself, as I have stated previously, is very rude when asked questions and acts so high and mighty. I have been going there since it was Fix&Play Electronics, which I have heard from numerous of other shop owners of the same trade, had closed down and reopened under the name Game Smash due to them passing off reproduction carts as legitimate ones. This store is no longer trustworthy. I hope those of you reading this take my review into careful consideration when choosing a preowned game store (as of right now I would rather go to Game Stop than deal with this guy ever again). I suggest Fallout Games, their selection is not as big, but they are much nicer and willing to help.

Really cool shop! I brought in my ps4 to get my hdmi port fixed, and to my amazement it was done later that evening! I have had 0 issues with it since and I even got to pick up a bunch of my childhood favorite games! A+ 10/10 business. and their employees are cute too 👻Edit: Its been a month and I still havent had any issues with my PS4. Works as if it were brand new. Ive gone back and gotten great customer service when buying/asking about other games and even gotten some interesting recommendations on games that I had never heard of that were absolutely perfect for me. I seriously cant recommend Game Smash enough.

I went to game smash because it seemed like they had a good selection of games and systems, and indeed, they did. But I did notice immediately that their games were way over priced and were not cleaned or tested. I also noticed that they systems werent cleaned either. That didnt deter me though, because I know how to do all of that. I picked up a couple games and went a couple times. On the last time that I went, 02/19/2021 I wanted to pick up a game cube. As I stood at the counter I overheard they would only give this kid $7 dollars for a PS1. I offered to buy it for $15 because this kid was getting ripped off! Now I know you cant do that, but what was done was done. When I came back in they told me that they were offering only $7 because they Lazer didnt work. I was still going to buy the game cube, but when they were testing it to give it to me it didnt read discs. It was the nicest one they had. So I just wanted out. I will never go back there againHorrible customer services and they lie. The Lazer on that PS1 does work. Im floored.

Be careful he takes away parts to fix others Hes digging a hole to cover another hole. he keeps your game for more than 4 months doesnt call you and every time you call they say your part hasnt arrived when finally you say Im taking it somewhere else and go and pick it up they give it to you in pieces and say the it cost more and the game itself to fix it why couldnt he tell me 3 months ago when confronted he says hell mace you or threatened to get his gun out of his truck and shoot you then he called the cops twisting everything

Ill start off by saying this place has a decent selection of retro games and its nice to see that there is still a great community of people keeping the old games alive. HOWEVER, the older gentleman (who Im assuming owns the place) needs to stay out of his own store. Ive given this store more than a few chances to win my business, which Ive given them a few times, but this older guy is literally spewing negative/combative energy to the point where I dont want to return. I would consider myself a High-end Collector as I like to collect sealed/graded/CIB games, but the owner seems to label any person between ages 21-30 as a reseller and becomes incredibly dismissive right off the bat. I walked in today to look for a copy of Zelda: Master collection (which I didnt expect them to have due to rarity) and saw the older gentleman at the front of the counter. I wasnt greeted, I wasnt told to hold on for help, I wasnt acknowledged in any way shape or form. I perused around the store for a minute to see if they had a copy of the game, which I didnt find, and felt as if my business wasnt wanted at the store. So I left.Now, Ive had a few great interactions with some of the other employees. Chatted up about some of the old gaming days and the current state of the resale market. Genuine, good ol fashioned conversation. But when the older guy is at the shop, I can feel the tension from the employees. They visibly look uncomfortable inside the shop when hes there. Ill take my business to Fallout or to Offerup. Some random on Offerup is likely to leave you feeling more satisfied with your buying experience over shopping at this store.

I havent visted but i was wondering hold long does it take for a hdmi port fix n how much will it cost ive been tryna to get my ps4 fixed for a minute now but havent got around the time to stop by can i get a response back?

We just took in mine and my sons ps4s to have them cleaned and the Hdmi fixed on mine. We got them both back in about 7 hours and they are working fantastic. They gave us a deal for having two repairs done. We picked up Cold War and played all night with ZERO issues. Highly recommend these guys!! :)

They have what I need when I needed it at a decent price. Ive yet to sell or get something repaired but Id suspect itd be done too, as Ive seen a worker fixing a gaming system with much focus.

Great place and the staff is awesome, I found MarioKart 64 and Luigis Mansion today. I wish the had the arcade on they were last time I was here.

Let me start off by saying how great these guys are. Between my kids and grandkids we have a lot of videos games and they are tough on them. These guys have fixed all my issues for our consoles and we havent had a single issue. Plus they have more games than any other store we have gone to.Jolly good work boys!

I’ve got my ps4 deep cleaned the other day and my ps4 started randomly turning off when I’m mid game. Its happened twice now and also there’s a new wire hanging out the back of my ps4 keeping me from looking inside. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t there before I gave it to them so that they can clean the ps4. It appeared after they cleaned it. Does anyone else have the same problem?

So glad I found this gem! Saved me by fixing our overheating PS4 for a VERY reasonable price. Fun place to visit too with all the vintage games and gaming systems. We will definitely be going back for any of our gaming needs.

This place is a gold mine for collectors and gamers alike. I originally came in to have my Playstation 4 repaired, I didnt realize they have a large amount of classic games.. I was able to pick up several games I needed for my Nintendo game collection. The employees are very knowledgeable with games and systems, and even set up consoles for me to test out some old games I wanted to play. They had my PS4 repaired and ready to go within an hour while I was browsing their store. I could not be happier with the customer service. A+ Guys. Enjoy the pizza i had delivered, you guys deserve it.

Been coming there for quite awhile, have the membership and usually its a pleasant time and timely. My receipt shows the Employee who ruined that today is Dallas. Literally took an hour to trade in 3 games and buy 2 with that store credit. About 35-40 minutes waiting in line and finally making it to the front he told us he had to help the other 2 groups who were standing in line behind us before he could help us (no clue why). There was no confusion about who was next as we were all in line one after another. 20 minutes later we got to checkout and he spent the 30 seconds he needed to help us real quick. Im not sure if he is new to helping customers but everywhere else you help the person next in line. Saw the manager with the goatee peek his head out of the back a few times but never came out to help any customers. I see how my business and loyalty is rewarded. Good thing all my store credit is used up so I have nothing keeping me to go back.

Where too start... um.... well, customer service doesnt exist in this place. The owner doesnt work. Meanwhile, 5 customers are looking for help. Wouldnt you think a tech store should be able to ring up more than one item at a time, Nope!. I drove an hour just to see what they had and because of the staff and WAY OVER PRICED ON EVERYTHING IN STOCK, I WILL NOT GO BACK. I WILL TELL MY FRIENDS AND SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME. There was only one guy behind the counter. I guess he was helping other customers when I came in so I just looked around, like persons do. Still with no acknowledgement that I was there, I was done looking around, had questions and stared at the one guy for almost 10 minutes waiting for him to realize I exist, awful! They pretend that these things are only available there and charge whatever they see fit. The collection there is subpar at best. You probably can find a rare game but will pay to much and its not professional or clean at all! Like they gave up on life and its, youll either buy it or not! This tech store doesnt take debit cards only credit 😤, and they only want cash for some games, which Im not sure if they understand what year it is. All in all. The ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN ANY STORE! EVEN QUICK TRIP CONVENIENT STORE UNDERSTANDS CUSTOMER SERVICE! At least they greet you coming in the door to get gas.. I AM NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER. I really can not believe the lack of the owner leaning against the counter and not caring about the, what could have been a long time customer. Im a IT coder. I will start by saying the customer service, lack of communication and professionalism is Infuriating. Dropped Xbox off and was told it would take 2 hours to fix the hdmi once started. 4 days later, several calls, mixed stories and us stopping in day 3 to be promised it would be fixed the next day....We get a call that it cant be repaired. We went out of our way to give our business to a local game shop to support a small business. I myself am a small business owner and know the value of each person who walks through my door. Not mad that they couldnt fix it....We were upset because they took 4 days to decide it wasnt worth their time to fix it after getting the run around, I lost it when the tech stated We couldnt afford it and talked to me with such disrespect. They also tried to give it back to us not put back together. I could go on and on....Main thing to take from this...DONT GIVE THIS GAME SHOP YOUR BUSINESS.

I took my PS4 in for a deep cleaning and now my PS4 works just like new no more overheating and they are super nice

Still kinda bugged that they left the HDMI cable out of the bag when they are bagging my purchaseCame to buy my kids an xbox360, employee left TV cable out of bag making me take the 14 mile trip again because they have no business phone operating.

Absolutely they best game store in AZ. I came in just for a PS4 repair and didnt know about the games they have. Its wall to wall full. I am in video game heaven. Its a long drive, but I am in love!

Gamestop is garbage. This place has better stuff good prices alot of different games

Horrible service. Horrible attitude. Lazy and dishonest. They failed to repair my power supply cable after taking it in 3 times. After the 4th time they sent me home claiming it was okay to use and it overheated again and ruined the motherboard. Its sitting in their shop now because the manager or technician Ive asked to call me back with an explanation hasnt done so and has avoided my call for over a week. Dont go here unless you want someone without experience to practice on your system and claim they fixed it for a quick buck and give you bad attitude about their mistakes.

Just walked out of this place with a cart full of games! Owner is amazing and really down to earth and easy to talk to. Makes me feel like a kid again, and prices are reasonable. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME.Wouldn’t hold a game for far driving. Went back on original trade offer. Sold defective game. Tried making me wait for an hour to change the battery in a cartridge, only to find out they bought the game in defective and most likely never tested it. Bad attitude. Returned funds to my card but took a few days to get there. Horrible customer service.

Just had my playstation 4 serviced here for overheating. They put in a new fan and even cleaned the stains on the top of the system. Looks brand new and has been working flawless all day. Thank you guys!

*Updated review* Great store, and friendly staff. However, they have it very crammed with arcades games I’m assuming they are trying to sell? Makes it very difficult to browse as the store cannot accommodate more than 10 people with the machines in there. Lots of great stuff and finally checked a few games off my list. However, they tend to over price some games. I understand they need to make a profit. However, the logic on how the representative of the store explained the pricing of the products did not make much sense as some of the same items I searched with his logic were 70-80% overpriced. I would go back, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to make a trip to this store. Great to visit at least once if you are looking for that nostalgic feel.

Awesome place if youre a collector. Solid staff. The arcade cabinets upfront are a pleasant nostalgia trip. I personally would rather buy my old school game at a well lit building then behind an alley wondering if the craigslist guy is going to mug me. I think thats worth something.

Finally a gamestore with games in stock. Been all over the valley and only find over priced reproduction games and trash games. Love the selection, Ill definitely recommend you to all my friends.
