Went to pay for my order today. on Tuesday was told I’d pay 60 something out of pocket. Today I thought I heard the same price (hard of hearing and happened to not have my hearing aids) when I got home I saw it was 86$ out of pocket and when I reviewed the receipt I realized I’m paying for extras I wasn’t even asked to get. When I went to call and find out what was what. For an hour I was just listening to a recording. I plan to go in tomorrow and sort it out but right now I’m just upset that I wasn’t informed of the extra charges. If I was asked and told I was getting no glare and extra stuff it’s no biggie. It’s the fact that I wasn’t informed and I feel I was taken advantage of
It appears my experience was not unlike what others have recently posted. I scheduled an eye exam and had the worst experience I have ever had primarily because of one front desk associate for the eye exams. I think it is a mixture of not wanting to do her job and not understanding how bad and rude she is. She was unable to find my insurance and told me rudely that I must be wrong. After calling my company in the office and assuring the desk lady that I was indeed covered she magically found my coverage after giving her the information a 4th time. After that she took me back for the pre-screening which was a joke. stand here, look here completely uninvolved in what she is doing and likely messed up the readings in the 30 seconds of effort that she put in. Absolutely terrible. I complete my appointment with the nice enough and competent Dr and when he tells me that I have a 0 power perscription I am a little shocked. Turns out miss dont want to be here at the front didnt have me take my contacts out. The one thing she did ask me was if I was wearing my glasses right now... Like turn around and look at my face? Not wearing glasses? After all that it turns out that I got a glasses exam and not a contact exam after repeatedly stating I was there for a contact exam. To my dismay the receptionist goes and tells the doctor this and then magically comes back with a perscription that was 100% guessed on and is different from what I have been wearing for years.This place is absolutely terrible. The doctor is nice enough but the office is being severely severely hobbled by one extremely rude and incompetent desk associate. Replace her and you might have a decent business.
Ive been trying to contact this office and they never answer.its been 2 months since i had my contacts exam and still havent heard back. Reached to customer service and no luck! But quick to charge me.
This was our go-to spot for my kids’ and my eye care. A new receptionist there was the worst. She rushed my kids through the pre-exam process, leaving them confused and panicked. She made the entire experience uncomfortable and because of her I will not be coming back. Also, the associates are commission hungry. This used to be a great place, but not anymore. Weird place for sure.
This will definitely be my go to vision place. Their eyeglass selection is huge. There were so many I wanted though I could only chose one. Everyone was friendly. The doctor was so incredibly nice and the exam was fast but thorough. Not relevant, but the doc was super adorable (like you want to put her in your pocket kind of way). They were also very cautious and took our temps and sanitized everything we tried on. Honestly, cant say enough positive things about this experience.
Do not go here. They never answer their phone. They’re rude and my contacts took over a month to get. I had to stop by the actual store to get them. Because they wouldn’t answer.
Called about my contacts being delayed, spoke to Allie and she helped me out. She went out of her way and figured out what was going on.However I went to pick up my contacts and the lady at the front was so rude and had an attitude. She even made me feel uncomfortable the way she was looking at me. She asked me a question and with mask on it’s hard to understand sometimes what people say so I asked her I’m sorry what did you ask. And she said like I said and she repeated her question. Just the fact that she asked with an attitude and she seemed annoyed made me feel unhappy about this place. Overall it had not been a good experience. Only a few people have made this first time experience in this place better but for the most part I don’t feel I would come back for my next exam. I truly value good customer service and I did not get that here. And my contacts were delayed for almost a month I was promised extra contacts for the inconvenience and I didn’t even get the and I asked the lady and she said idk I have no idea. So I just so okay thank you and walked out. She did not even care to find out for me.
Let me say when I got there they was not ready for me BUT they called me three times!!! Got there, got the exam. The lady that worked in eye with the doctor, the receptionist, she talked soooooiooo fast l, I asked her to slow down!! Remember I’m a Veteran!!! CHARGED ME $189,00 FOR ONE PAIR OF GLASSES!!! The customer service I received from one of the associates was terrible, snotty, made me feel I was in the wrong the whole time. tried being nice letting them know I appreciated what they did to silence and just rude body language. Other reps seemed nice but that one just rubbed me the wrong way left there kinda upset.
People in the glasses section are nice enough, but beware when you get back to the eye exam area.The woman with the giant eyelashes is super rude and stuck up. Always trying to answer questions for the doctor and telling you what you should be doing in place of him.I even had to call to get my eye results because she never emailed me the pictures like she said she would. The doctor barely spends time with you as it is, but the front desk woman, she is a major gatekeeper when it comes to being seen.
I scheduled an apt back in Feb, April 10 was the first available. I took it. For the Avondale store. Showed up and was told by an entry level employee that I must have scheduled it at another store, but couldnt tell me where. I and my hefty expensive script will go elsewhere. No one answers the phone you are on hold all day. Very unhelpful.
I came in for an eye exam and glasses because I was having issues seeing the computer screen clearly and also reading. The entire staff there was fantastic! The Drs Tech and Doctor were so friendly and professional, it was the best eye exam I have ever had. The Licensed Optician Chris was so great! She showed me my different choices and helped me pick out a frame that looks so good on me. She made it easy for me to shop and I walked out a happy customer. AAA+++ 5 Star Store!
The gentleman working there was outstanding. He died me for glades last time and they were perfect and he did it again this time. Always friendly and provides great customer service.
I’ve been to a different Visionworks and I love them. But this one is terrible. I told them that I have a new insurance and it was my first time there. I wanted to get my prescription for contacts and glasses. And when I went to pay, they charged me 50 for the contact prescription. They never told me the insurance didn’t cover it. I told them it was under my dads insurance so I didn’t know anything about it. And they waited to tell me until I was done with the exam. I would have never asked for it if I’d known it was 50. They don’t even do that much extra. It’s the same prescription, just translated. Why is it 50 dollars. And I went during the hours listed online and they were closed. I’ve never had such a terrible time at Visionworks. The eye doctor was nice though. Other than her my experience was terrible.
My mother died the morning..I decided to keep the appointment thinking I would get in and out quickly...Forget that thought..it was hell..it took them an hour to approve my insurance ..even though my appointment was made weeks before...this is the one and only time I will ever deal with them again...and I have several friends Ive told about their scrappy ...this company will never have a good record..it needs a better manager!
Honestly the best experience I have ever had. I was in an accident and broke my glasses. I have HORRIBLE eyesight. I can not function with out my glasses. I went in and was told they we’re booked for the next 6 weeks. I explained my situation and they squeezed me in. They are amazing. I am truly grateful.
This review is way overdue. Went to get an eye exam in December, and I was very limited on time/schedule. A lot of other places book you at noon for example but do not get you in for the exam til 12:30 because they want you to look around for glasses. I just needed the exam, and they made it fast and simple and on-time! Will go back there again for my next exam, 100% guaranteed.
Horrible experience, I was told my eye insurance company was closed and they could not verify my insurance. I had two options to reschedule or pay out of pocket. Whats the point of me filling out the admission form prior to my appointment? My insurance should have been verified prior to my appointment. This appointment was scheduled 30 days ago!
This Visionworks is great! Very clean and the staff was friendly and professional. We really appreciate Frank for going above and beyond to help us leave with everything we wanted. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant and we felt like they cared about us. We will be back for our yearly exams next year. Thank you VW staff.
Looks like I had a similar experience to other people. I was supposed to get a call back because I was trying sample contacts. Never got the call. When I called them, I told them I wanted to buy contacts after the doctor signs off on the script. I was supposed to get a call back when ready, which did not happen. I call them again and the automated system told me the location I was calling was closed. An hour early. I go to the store, which was open, to get my information. The woman in the front of the store starts to help me and I let her know what I went through to get my information and I get attitude from her, like she doesnt understand why someone would be frustrated. I feel like they were trying to make me go somewhere else. I have no problem with that, no chance Im going back to Visionworks.
Awful service. I wish they would have stayed at Desert Sky mall. Do yourself a favor and go to the Vision works location in Arrowhead Mall. I’ve been a faithful customer of Vision works since 2008. When they moved from Desert Sky to Avondale I was excited that the service would be even better. To my dismay it was awful. Crowded, understaffed, and the associates are very unhelpful. Since then I’ve gone to the Arrowhead Mall location and received excellent service. Against my better judgement I wanted to go in for a quick tighten up on my child’s glasses. Walked in and was told they could not help me or wouldn’t even sell me an eye glass repair kit without waiting an hour for them to sell it . Wow! I called America’s Best directly after I left and they told me to come right in and they would tighten the glasses for me with no problem. What a shame to be so understaffed that it takes an hour just to make a quick sale.
Staff went out of their way to assure our satisfaction, just before closing time.

Ive been going to many eye care places and by far Vision Works in Gateway Village is the best! The people there are simply amazing, they treated us like friends and we love that. Especially Tameisha, the office manager was amazing and welcomed us with a beautiful smile. Selena also was great, she helped my daughter so much in selecting her new frames and did it with such an awesome attitude. Again thank you!
I forgot the ladies name that helped me out but she was great. Very nice and patient and very helpful. Although I had to wait a while because they were busy once she started with me she was great. Didnt seem like she was rushing me or was tired (although it was the end of the day) or anything like that. Very good customer service. Much appreciated!!
I had my glasses on the coffee table and my littles came home after school. Some how, they ended up on the floor and stepped on. Yet no one did it. Took them in and Ernest was a miracle worker. I absolutely love this location even though I have a location closer to my house. This is the place to go.

The young lady Tameisha (I believe that was her name)that helped me went out of her way to explain everything to me that was going on with my appointment. She didnt make me feel like I was being rushed or if I had any questions about everything. She will go out of her way to help and make this a great experiences for you. I been trying to order contacts for the past week and was so fed up with trying to use the website and calling the store at least 5 time in the past week and leaving messages that were never returned. I decided to just go to the store and was told that I had to wait 45 minutes to just get my contact prescription information. I’m running out of patience with this company. The person inside the store told me there’s a person in the back that will call me. I could clearly see she wasn’t working and could easily help me for 5 minutes to just order my contacts and be done with this situation. This will be the last time I use this company. This is ridiculous

My first time at Visionworks and itll be my LAST! Customer service was horrible, Tamiesha, was quick to blame others for simple mistakes done within office. I called to finalize my order-front desk rep stated they were super busy took down my cell # explaining she would call me back tomorrow. It has now been 2 weeks I called in today wanting to know what was going on with my contacts. Rep stated my order had been finalized barley 2 weeks ago I informed Id be picking up my order tonight before 7pm. Arrived @6pm and my order was not finalized nor was anything entered into the system.
Tameisha and Liz where the best face to the office. Then Dr. Hale topped it off. I had issues with my last appointment at a location down the street with contacts I was having allergies to. They got me in ASAP and got me in some of the best contacts I have ever had. Dr Hale knew exactly what brand to try. Got them in and had me try them on. I was beyond amazed with the fit. I will forever be returning here as long as these lovely beautiful helpful young ladies are working and Dr. Hale is in. My new eye care TEAM.

We bought 4 pairs of glasses, (2 pairs of prescription sunglasses and 2 regular prescription glasses) we were treated great from the doctor all the way to Sam in the front. She took a good amount of time to explain what frames and lens were covered with our insurance and what benefited us. Thank you
I went in on a Saturday morning and was greeted by Samantha. She helped me out every step of the way. She helped me pick out a pair of glasses that I normally wouldnt have even looked at. Im really picky and she was patient with me the whole time. I would definitely recommend this location and Samantha.
Hands down the best customer service !!! Walked in on a busy Saturday and Tamiesha worked her magic to get me seen same day .. first off when I walked in I was greeted by a lovely young lady Samantha ... after selecting my glasses I was told it can take up to 2 weeks to get my glasses.. well again the service was outstanding I picked up my new glasses today ! They look great btw.. my old pair were glued together.. the need to get glasses ASAP.. and they did ! They were all amazing .. definitely referring to friends and family ..!! And will go back on a regular to get my eyes checked .. the doctor was great he wasn’t pushy I didn’t want progressives and he didn’t push me to get them unlike another place that insisted I get them and ended up returning them ..

I called the Avondale location two weeks ago and last week I called to give them my insurance information because I did not have at the time I called to make my appointment. I showed up today and they could not find my information...and told me I must have made it at another location...which I did not! I asked them if I could have there Goodyear location phone number so that I could make appointment at that location...and they gave me the wrong number. I googled Goodyear location and finally talked to a very nice lady by a name of Angie who was professional, knowledge and just and awesome person...who was able to get me in on the same day. Will definitely go back to the Goodyear location but I wont be visiting Avondale location. They had no idea what they are doing. Just waisted my time.
This is my second time purchasing eyeglasses and contacts, although the first initial visit was pleasant, this second time around I felt like they where unprofessional, staff does not seem happy to help customers, manager was talking about other patients issues infront of different people which is very unprofessional. The Doctor was okay, but overall I will not be going here again. They really need to focus on there customer service skills, and definitely hire more staff so customers won’t be waiting around for 1 hour
I went in the other day to buy contacts and Tameisha was very helpful at helping me find the best price and deals. Contacts are expensive but I’m glad she was there being patient and compassionate working with me to find what was best for me:) The world needs more Tameishas!!

I would give them 0 stars if possible. It has been over 2 months and I still havent been able to get my contacts. they never call when its ready; then schedule you 3+weeks out once you contact them; only to try n reschedule you once the 3 weeks come. went for my appt and everyone left early; they said they called once again (which they didnt)... to reschedule me ... AGAIN!!! still havent recieved my contacts... still cant get any answers besides when would you like to reschedule.. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE; DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE
I had a wonderful experience at Visionworks! I booked my appointment with Tameisha and she was very informative of what I needed, she took my insurance and everything was verified when I came in. Ash was my pre-tester, she answered all of my questions and got me back with the doctor in no time at all. I bought my glasses from a girl named Val and she helped me understand my insurance benefits and got me everything I needed. I’m super happy with how everything turned out. I purchased frames & lenses in Aug 2017, when I received my glasses, they had a large scratch on the lens. Took about a week to get them back. I have only worn them once or twice since then and I noticed today that Ive got 2 deep scratches on my left lens & one deep scratch on my right lens - both in the center of the lenses, they shouldnt scratch this easy. Im very disappointed in the quality, considering what I paid (just under $300), I expected Transition lenses to be of much better quality. I will never purchase my lenses there again. I have glasses that I wear on a daily basis and are over 6 years old; they dont have these deep scratches on the lenses.
Called to schedule a appointment spoke to a very friendly lady by the name of Valerie she was very helpful and Im looking forward to my upcoming appointment at the avondale location.

While I was there it was very busy and Tameisha was alone but was confidently helping customers. She has a great sense of humor and was very quick even though she was alone! I would recommend this location to anyone just because of Tameisha!

Avoid this place like the plague. The two gentlemen they have working the front are absolutely worthless. They lost my prescription and my order.
Went here cause this was the only place with same day apt.....now I can see why it’s a horrible place, new trainee broke down and cried cause she couldn’t do the job also told me all wrong information, then I sit and wait for eye exam while I hear the manager of the store bad mouth the new employee on the phone to her boss. The eye doctor didn’t care he just wanted to go to lunch. Neither front desk or dr inform me that with my insurance I have to get both eye exams together or wait another whole year so now I’m waiting cause I was told when I was about to leave after buying glasses (which I caught the salesPerson lying by not tell me everything involved with my lens just saying you’ll need this till the bill was huge for just glasses, then I find out other options not told to me) no communication in regards to glasses order, I got my glasses finally and so did my wife but they haven’t told us fully about our order. I had to call myself and they were confused then were like ohh they are delayed(my wife contacts) and we are still waiting nearly 3 weeks from exam and 1 week since we pick up glasses. Stay away

If I could rate the doctor and the store separately, I would give the doctor 5 stars and the store 0. I had a wonderful experience with the eye exam today, but it ended there. I then worked with a very inexperienced and unprofessional associate. She started quoting prices to me without checking my actual insurance policy and proceeded to keep changing the price when I pointed out that I thought it was incorrect. When I got uncomfortable with this practice and asked to take my prescriptions with me to shop elsewhere, she shrugged and said that was fine without asking for my business or getting anyone else to help. I wonder if management knows that the employees are letting customers walk out the door? Don’t go here… Spend your money somewhere that wants your business.

I liked the doctors. However the customer service sides is quite poor. I got my eyes examed a 3 weeks ago. I ordered/paid for glasses and contacts. A week later my glasses are ready but not the contacts bc they didn’t order them like I requested and paid for. So she claims she ordered them that day. It’s week 3... I called... person 1: “please hold and we will check... we will let you kno pls hold”... person 2: “let me go check... it looks like I need to check pls hold” ... person 3: “I’ll go check and we will let you know”... by person I’m like look are they ready or not.... response: the glasses are ready and ur contacts aren’t ready. Me: so the person when I came in didn’t order them, last week the person who called didn’t order them, and now I have to wait bc ur ordering them today”.... week 3 My contacts STILL haven’t been ordered.I’m annoyedUpdate: 4/12/18: another week has gone by... and they promised to send my glasses and contacts Saturday. I was told it would be overnighted n to me by Tuesday. I speak to Joy n she tells me that they still haven’t sent them and they overnighted it yesterday. She says “I called you yesterday to leave you with a tracking number but you hung up”. Duh I hung up... 7 minutes on hold waiting for her to figure out who called ... yesterday she didn’t know who called and why for... today she says she is who called ... I’ll never get anything from this location again.
I came in with my kid for a eye infection appointment and one of the stuff members was very rude and kept talking back at me veryyyy unprofessional putting words my mouth and would not stop! Aron is his name !

From walking in and being greeted by cindi, to having tameisha welcome me back to the scheduling side it felt great . although my insurance wasnt accepted . i still had questions and she nailed each one .. I set up an appointment to get my eyes checked and provided my insurance, apparently there was issues with my insurance and they didn’t bother to give me a heads up I show up to my appointment and they had canceled it staff was rude.
Worst customer service ever.. they were supposed to order my sons contacts and apparently they forgot to do it, even when I already pay for them .
As soon as I stepped in this place for a question, they were super rude and treated me like i was stupid. If only they knew i am a teacher with my doctrine degree. How stupid THEY are....
