Surprisingly excellent service here for a small restaurant. The food tastes home made and the best of all. Reasonably priced, not expensive at all. I always like to try each restaurants version of French toast. This restaurants French toast is delicious comes with bacon and maple syrup. It was a really great experience, and I would recommend this place for breakfast.
The service was great. The food came out very quickly. The food was good. The decor is interesting. My only issue is that the place is older and small so its not set up for handicap people.
Quick stop for breakfast before heading back to Vegas. Pretty busy restaurant and Im glad I got to dine here (cause of the raving reviews on Yelp.)I sat at the bar so it was quick in/out.I didnt want anything heavy so I ordered the French toast with 2 pieces of bacon. The French toast was delicious and I loved the top melted butter. Not a long wait for the food which is great.My server was Amanda and she was very nice and pleasant.Definitely a restaurant Id recommend for Brunch.
24th street Cafe is much more than a Cafe, a place to get breakfast, its a delightful dining experience. The servers are so personable, attentive, well, I just cant say enough good about it. Oh, and by the way the food is fabulous, portions are plentiful and special orders dont upset us could be their theme song.

Lunches are equally as good.I’ve eaten here numerous times over the years, they have consistently been served fresh, hot and delicious. Everything is always great.Most of the waitress’s have worked here for years. Donna was my waitress and she did an outstanding job.
Best food in town hands down. Customer cares phenomenal. Menu is always changing because they make things fresh from fresh ingredients. The owner actually travels around finds new dishes and new recipes and brings them back to cell does the local people of Bakersfield

I had the Cajun omelet, hash browns and toast (also a pumpkin pancake). Euphoria is what is happening between my tastebuds and brain. Sorry for not having a meal to show.. the delicious aroma was overwhelming. The service was also as good as the meal.. very pleasant. Cons: parking.P.s I don’t care if I have to walk a mile to come back. See you soon
Our family has been coming to this restaurant for many years. We have never had anything here that wasn’t perfectly prepared. A very consistent kitchen and everything is just spot on. I hate to add more customers by this review because I wish this place was a well kept secret for the old timers . But they deserve the compliments. You will not be disappointed here.
Everything we had tasted so good! I was in the mood for something sweet so I got their Belgium waffles and they were delicious. My friends ordered some savory dishes and after having a bite of theirs, I can say Im overall impressed with the food in general. Will definitely come back if Im ever in the area again!
Cozy place. Dont order the Greek salad unless you want a huge bowl of cucumbers and not much else. Wasnt impressed.
Great coffee and homemade chocolate chip cookies topped off with a awesome cup of coffee. The girl that worked the counter was super nice, great customer service with a great smile. We will definitely be back next time we visit Kings Canyon.
One of my favorite breakfast spots! Great coffee and food and its always nice to see familiar faces. Only thing is beware there is a 15% fee for a pick it up order but rather then that its still one of my top 5 spots for breakfast in Bakersfield!!
Stopped over here for lunch on the drive back to LA. Great, friendly service. The food was excellent with big portions. Not too greasy, which was nice and the milkshake was excellent as well. Highly recommended.

Such amazing food and and a very friendly and great host.We went for brunch on Sunday and had a waiting of 45 mins but the food was totally worth the wait.We loved the food, the house coffee was amazing.I’m very big on hot chocolate but this one was too sweet for my taste.Other than that everything was on point.The portobello mushroom burger was delicious and their fries were the best.We had ordered silver pancakes, Belgian waffles, their famous chicken friend steak and eggs, grilled cornbread, chilli cheese omelette .
Everything you want in a breakfast diner. Fast, friendly service. Food was plentiful and cooked fresh & properly. Super cute, comfortable & clean “classic” diner setup (booths & counters) with a big, enclosed patio (thanks COVID). This place is doing it right, and it was packed because of it. Keep up the good work!
Love this place. There is always at least a small wait so dont expect to be sat immediately. Food is delicious and service is fine. One of my faves for breakfast.
Too many good things to say. My dad says 5 stars for the zucchini breakfast. Cinnamon roll was to die for. My steak was perfect. So much more to say but definitely the place to go.
Have you tried their cinnamon bun with butter? I know it sounds sinful but its an absolute must! How about their cajun seafood omelet?? Oh my just typing this is making me drool... absolutely love sitting at the bar the customer service is just as good as their food.
Best surprise ever!! Staff ultra friendly, clean, safety measures taken, nice atmosphere. Its right on traffic location and business district but noise nor environment didnt interrupt or disappoint. Parking a bit tight but plenty plus street parking. Great menu and variety, great location, good value, ( a bit more on price but considering the good food, selection and in the city AND the location upgrade, worth it!). Will go back!!
Over all was just ok, service was good. I had the chicken fried steak my fiance had the sausage scramble. Steak had a few chewy spots over all her dish was better then mine, i will not be going back there any time soon

We enjoyed a wonderful meal here with top-notch friendly service, great food, and a happy atmosphere. The place is run like a well-oiled machine, with a gentleman who checks in your table, makes you smile, and makes you feel like your business is appreciated. This is an old-school, indie gem that I always try to scour a city to find! My son had stuffed French toast and sausage, I had a crisp, fresh salad with a scoop of delectable chicken salad, and the best iced tea w lemon. Our glasses were never empty. The bloody Mary’s look stellar!
Prior to COVID-19, this restaurant was a must. At that time, the line cooks demonstrated expertise in their profession, the food was cooked to order and to perfection, and the excellent service had no comparison. After being shut down for the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant management made changes. These changes resulted in a decline of all services. My wife and I have returned five times, and each time we hope for some indication that things are returning to the way they were once before. But, each time we leave slightly disappointed realizing that what once was never will be again.

What an excellent breakfast spot! We stopped by on our way through town and am sure glad we did. They have an extensive breakfast menu from pancakes to fish tacos and everything in between. The location is a classic old school diner with good service to match. I highly recommend the pumpkin pancakes! We went on a Saturday morning and didnt have any problems walking right in and getting a booth.

The 24th Street Cafe is my go-to spot for breakfast in Bakersfield. I sit up at the counter and Donna always takes the best care of me, keeping my coffee cup full. I’m a creature of habit so I don’t usually stray from my scrambled eggs, sausage patty, potatoes and toast but the other things I’ve had have been great too!

Good spot for breakfast or lunch. Definitely got that oldschool small town cafe vibe. I got steak and eggs with biscuit and gravy and my wife got crepes. The steak was good and the crepes was filled with too much creme cheese but it was okay. Something noticeable was the Himalayan Salt and the mixed peppercorn grinder. Its a bit tight inside with limited parking. Service was good. Overall its was a good experience.

Old school diner. I had the patty melt with fries and slaw and it was plentiful and tasty! Service was outstanding and prices were more than fair for what you got. Parking can be a challenge and really small bathrooms. Very busy at lunch time but that was due to the high quality of meals. My friend had the Reuben and it was gigantic but he loved it.

It was a cute spot and people were friendly. However, the food was kind of lacking. I had a Roast Beef sandwich with potatoes. The sandwich was pretty bland and the meat didnt have any flavor. The potatoes tasted purely like oil with an aftertaste. Im not sure if we just didnt order the right food items, but it was overall pretty bland.
The service was great.... however I dont see what the fuss is about.... food was below average at best. I dont understand why this is 1 of the top places in town for Breakfast unless its the service..... dennys is better n thats pretty sad
I am a traveler. I had an iced Chai latte and breakfast. It was the best Chai latte in America so far. The breakfast I had was Quinoa bowl, which was healthy and delicious.
My first time today. Had the steak and eggs with biscuits and gravy. It wad really good. Hope to return soon.

My favorite brunch place in town. Theres a unique sense of community and history that you get here, and the food is extraordinary! Amazing menu for breakfast and lunch. The trout was especially tasty on the breakfast menu and not something normally found. Hard to decide as so many yummy items. Will be back

Ok so I never usually review restaurants but I had to review 24th street. I drove from Shafter to Bakersfield to eat here for the first time with my friends and I just have to say I am so amazed at how amazing and caring all the staff members are, including the owner. Our waitress and owner were very attentive and would constantly ask how we were doing. The owner even had a conversation with us, which is so rare now. Literally couldnt ask for a better service! If i could leave 10 stars, I so would! Once again, thank you so incredibly much! Will be back soon.
Ive only gone for breakfast, but I enjoy it every time! The sandwiches made with English Muffins are great. The coffee is excellent and the servers are always attentive and friendly.
First time Ive ever been to this restaurant.I specifically went for the search of PUMPKIN PANCAKES 🤤🤤😍😍.May i say if youre like me and love pumpkin pie, then its a must stop spot and try the pancakes... My daughter and I shared pancakes and french toast. It was a decent spot. Plan on going back and trying other items.Parking sucks 👎👎. Its difficult to find anything close and that doesnt have 30min meters. I parked about a block or 2 away and walked. And NO PHONE TO GO orders weekends....

Food was good. I had chicken fried chicken and biscuits and gravy($13). Went at 830 am on Tuesday. It was a little busy but service was prompt. Takes time to find parking spot. Cars everywhere makes it seem like the place is packed out but its really not bad. Walked right in and got a table. Within minutes I was sipping on coffee. Waitress was really prompt and friendly. No flavored coffee creamer. They use pink salt and raw brown sugar which I really liked.

The place was very clean, the service was okay but only reason, I gave it 3 stars was because the pastrami sandwich i ordered was substandard the pastrami was extremely salty and dry like beef jerkey. I will go back but I will just order a different item.

Everything here is good, but you cant leave without trying a cinnamon roll. They melt butter on top, and your stomach never forgives you. But its worth it. Super friendly spot too.
