From the moment I walked into the store I was greeted very nicely and immediately approached surrounding the circumstances of what I would like to do that day. We started off on the right foot and Jeff who took care of me was fantastic. The store was immaculately clean, well organized, neat and well presented. All items hit the four (p’s) in relation to my background in marketing. Product, price, position and place of items were very well presented and detailed. Jeff guided me through my whole transaction process and was extremely fair, genuine, kind and understanding. There are plenty of shops all over for pawning and collectibles, and I chose Collectors Coins and Jewelry because of the presentation, honesty, fairness and integrity. He even stayed open an extra hour so we could do business because I was in the area. The man is a gentleman and one of the good guys in business that was built on bullion and collectible transactions/bartering. All in all the experience was 5 stars and if you are looking or around the area, I suggest you check out the interesting and valuable items he has in his inventory. I can see a very promising future with this shop and a Jeff. I had a pretty good amount of scrap gold to sell, so I decided to visit a number of gold buyers in Nassau County. I spent half the day visiting pawn shops and getting a wide range of prices from the 10 or so shops I went too. My last visit was here....I met Peter (he introduced himself, not one other person did all day)....He then educated me about the purity and prices of each type of gold I had (14 K 18 K and 24 K).When he was finished he gave me a price that was $240 more than the best price I got all day.Save yourself the headache, come see Peter and dont waste your time going anywhere else. I went to 3 other jewelry stores and 2 gold buyers before selling my wifes 2 karat diamond ring. It was GIA certified, which is a good thing. I am very happy that I dealt with David. I did not feel that I was getting ripped off at all. David explained everything to us. He even educated us on the diamond. Stuff we did not even know when we bought it. He gave us $1,000 more than any other competitor. You have to stop by his store its so beautiful.

Im a coin collector, and this has to be one of the top coin shops on Long Island. When I first went in I was met by Peter, and right off the bat he wasnt like the owners in other coin shops. He cared about what coins I had and just didnt pass me by. I went in to send my coins out to get professionally graded, and Peter showed me which coins were worth to send in. Shiny things.One of my earliest memories was walking with my Grandmother on Grand Ave while she ran errands. L.H. Martins, Woolworth, then a quick stop at Carvel (now a Checkers) for a flying saucer before a visit to the fabric store across the street from the old, vacant school.Grandma wasnt going to take a small child with ice cream into a fabric store, so we walked slow. However, I stopped. Shiny things in the window at 1846 Grand Ave. I finished my flying saucer as Grandma told me about the shiny things, then to the fabric store....About 10 years later I got buzzed into the place for the first time to buy my mother a present with the money Id earned from a paper route. I cant recall exactly what Id bought, but it was shiny.My love of shiny things hasnt changed, but my knowledge of them has grown into a passionate hobby that began with a flying saucer with Grandma and a jewelry shop window.To anyone reading this, this place is pretty awesome. A small shop that has outlived every other in the neighborhood. This place isnt Pawn Stars. Its a relic; an old school Mom and Pop establishment with Mom and Pop ethics and standards. I recently visited Collectors Coins & Jewelry to trade in some old gold & silver jewelry for extra cash and my experience with them was Great. I went in not knowing anything about selling gold & silver. David & Peter took time to explain everything to me (what I had and what it was worth). They were very informative & made me feel very comfortable. They have Outstanding Customer Service!! They dont make you feel pressured into doing anything.I went back because I had my Tennis Anklet which needed to be repaired. They fixed it with no problem and without charging me some outrageous price. Two weeks later I had to take it back to them because I broke it again :-( . David helped me with fixing it the first time. When I took it back the second time it was Peter who helped me. Peter remembered who I was and asked me what happened & I explained my problem. He noticed that my tennis anklet had broke the second time in the same place which they had repaired. He ask me if it was there fault. That right there is Outstanding Customer Service. He was willing to take the blame fully. I assured Peter that it was NOT his work being faulty as to why it broke. I truly felt it was something that I had done, pulling the wrong way which broke it. Peter was so nice about it he said, He would take 1/2 the blame so I didnt have to pay the full price to get it fixed again. Then after he looked at it again he told me what else could be done to insure it holds more securly this time. Peter is also helpful with saving YOU money where he can. I again went back in order to have something fixed. The conversation we had regarding this item (a ring), I was going to add additional gold to it. This would have cost me additional money. Between the time It was dropped off and fixed Peter thought of something else that could be done to fix it which would cost less money. When I pick it up, Im sure it will be beautiful. Just like my Tennis Anklet was.Orginally I was just trying to find a good place to take my old gold and silver and Ive found a place to take all my business when it comes to jewelry. They treat you Very Fairly and make you Feel Like a Friend. I would recommend this business to other people and I will definitely be going back.Thank you Peter and David!!
