Service was horrible. We went in to get drinks from the bar and we were never greeted, there was no eye contact and felt as if we were given the cold shoulder. We decided to just order drinks and while ordering the bartender never gave us any eye contact. Therefore, we canceled and left. Will never return, I am shocked at the level of disrespect! Do better its 2021! I love supporting businesses but I cant support a place where they dont even acknowledge customers.

I stumbled upon this place. It was well stocked and I found bitters I normally schelp to Towson for. The cocktails at the bar are creative and well made

Nice selection of delicious wines that lean heavily toward low intervention and natural. Whoever buys their wine has really good taste. I’ve had multiple bottles in the sub twenty bucks range that were outstanding! Quick delivery too.

Benzil the chef is the BEST!!! So talented and very creative w the menu but very simplistic! The staff is over he top friendly and will go out of their way to please you! Very casual! The tunes are great which creates a great ambience and fun place to hang out. We always sit at the bar and interact w the locals and the staff and always a great time! It’s a great experience and encourage everyone to come at least ONCE!

This is a really good wine bar, especially by Baltimore standards. Some of these negative reviews are bizarre. An intelligent wine selection. Obviously hand-picked. There are no mass-marketed industry wines (think Santa Margherita) that are in every faceless so-called wine bar. Instead, the mix is clearly what the buyer believes are the best wines for their respective types and prices.Service is good, at least as good as it can be when hiring under-40s in the Millennial era. Ive had brilliant, knowledgeable servers. Ive had others who suffer from typical Millennial cell phone lag. But even those are competent and friendly. Its not a romantic spot, but they never promised that. Its a very good wine bar in a city bereft of lots of genuinely quality spots.Nice job, Grand Cru!

This wine bar is generally a nice relaxing place to be BUT they are charging double for wine as I had a bottle of Avinyo Petillant Blanc that generally is a $14-17 bottle of wine cost me $38. I understand theres a pandemic and you gotta make your money somehow but this is ridiculous.

Great cocktails (had the ginger smash and the whoosh). Great music and ambience. Chill vibe with friends and locals splitting a bottle of wine or catching up over drinks. Wife and I talked and read a book. Deviled eggs were great.

Not what it used to be. Cold shouldered service. Waitress told us to get our own water from the cooler, and the place was nearly empty. Attitude. Unprofessional. Servers spent more time on their phones than facing customers. Why do they have a server that is wearing a T-shirt for Nicks Fish House? We wont be going back any more.

Wine selection is good and the atmosphere is cool. However, the bartenders were not very welcoming and one was constantly on her phone. I would expect better service from a cool wine bar!

Manager is incredibly rude. My table was served by an okay bartender, and the manger seemed to find his way to our table to make our experience “better” but he was really just lecturing us on our manners and turning us all off. The location is great, the bar has great potential, but poor mananegment can really ruin a place.

Definitely improved with new ownership but service is still wildly inconsistent. Food options are limited and often overpriced. Wine selection is great and cocktails are usually well made.

Today I was on my way to an interview but mid commute my phone was dying. Because I’ve never been to the place I was going to I was depending on my phone for directions. I walked around Belvedere Square and didn’t see a place to charge my phone without sitting down and buying something. Because the place was filled with only white people I felt nervous to ask for a favor being black. It’s sad that in our society that would be my position. Being desperate I wandered into Grand Cru and saw an open outlet. I nervously asked the bar tender if I could use the outlet and with a big smile she said “of course!!” She even offered me a seat at a more comfortable booth and agreed to watch my phone when I needed to use the restroom. This may seem small to some but being a professional black woman who still experiences racism this experience meant a lot to me. I was having a horrible month having to quit a job because of racist practices. I just want people to know how smiles and small acts of kindness can do so much for our world. I didn’t catch this ladies name but she was working at 1:00 today. Thank you so much for being you and bringing light to someone’s dark day.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. Went there after a movie for a quick drink and snack. 20 minutes after ordering an overpriced meat and cheese plate it still hadnt arrived. I went into the empty bar to ask our hipster wanna be bartenders what was going on. I was sorry to interrupt their session on beard grooming best practices, but it was clear they never even considered starting our meal. Dont waste your time or money going here, unless you need attitude from a bunch of too cool, heavily disassociated bartenders with no customer service know-how.

You go here to enjoy social experience. Beer price on tap is obscenely overpriced. Must be 5-5.5 times cost if thats beer then it extends elsewhere in wine and food. Honestly I cant figure out how costs need to extrapolate that much per increment.

I used to really enjoy going to Grand Cru. Our usual bartender would set us up with our beers for lunch, and then for a second round, we would buy a six pack from Grand Cru, get two clean glasses, and go back outside and BYOB the rest of the afternoon. That all changed last visit. There was a bartender we didn’t know. First off I stood waiting at the deserted bar (with her attitude, it is no mystery why it was deserted) for 15 minutes while she sat in the back dining paperwork. Finally I get my first round as usual. We then come back to return the glasses and to purchase our sixer and get a couple of glasses. She snips, ‘it’s $2 per glass.’ I told her, I don’t want to keep the glasses, I just want to use them while we sit outside drinking the six pack we buy from you. ‘Well we have a liquor license and we have expenses.’ Expenses? For me to drink beer I bought there out of glasses I will bring back to the bar? Does it cost $2 each to wash the glasses? ‘Well, we have expenses.’ Ok, can i just use the glasses we got our first round in? Since you’ll have to wash those at an expense of $2 per glass? ‘I guess, whatever.’ Ok, so at this point I had had enough. I asked her to just let me get two more drafts and we’ll call it a day. ‘Do you want to close that out or run a tab?’ My reply, you can close it out, this is my farewell toast to (No longer) Grand Cru, I won’t be back. Someone needs to go back to customer service school.

Drinks and food are pricey. This would be good for two people to meet, but not great for large parties. The option to walk next door for other types of food is nice. I probably wont go back due to the prices.

Visited for my B-day requested a bottle of champagne first suggestion was an $100.00 ( I deferred) Then I was offered another bottle of champagne for $50.00 ( I dont know enough about champagne pricing ) I agreed the purchase ( its my b-day). Paid and gave $10 tip. Was served nice! I immediately looked up the pricing of the champagne on line and several pricing for $ 24.99. How can you charge $50.00 for a bottle of Brutt. I just enjoyed my day but will report this to the alcohol commission. Lets be reasonable in this beautiful country. We mistreat Born and raised citizens.
