I have dealt with Nate in several ways: I rented from him, searched for cellos from him, and purchased a bow from him. He is extremely knowledgeable and always has fascinating tidbits to share. One of the many wonderful things about him is his honesty and sincerity. When I returned a bow to him that I had tried out, I was dismayed to have to admit that I noticed something wrong - some looseness in the ivory on the frog - and unsure as to whether the problem had developed under my watch. He was really lovely about it. He trusted me: I had not been careless with the bow, and rather than charging me for the repair he thanked me for pointing out the problem. I recommend doing business with him!

Nathan Slobodkin really knows what hes doing. He gives kids a great how-to on caring for their stringed instruments, and genuinely cares about his craft. Be sure to call for any appointments, as he does make his own hours.

Very skilled and knowledgeable craftsman with a wide knowledge base and very responsive and wonderful network of other craftsmen for what he doesnt know. Worth every penny and definitely under charges for his skills.
