Very cute cafe on Government Street with plenty of parking on the side. The coffee themed interior is decorated with market lights. The yellow on blue color palette makes it very vibrant. The coffee is good, the staff are nice. They also serve breakfast and lunch, but we did not have a chance to try it yet.
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and good iced coffee. Prices are on the high end for coffee shops. I had a large iced coffee with almond milk for $6.00 which included a dollar extra charge for substituting almond milk. Not sure why that’s their policy since almond milk and regular milk are the same price in grocery stores. Also, some local men were waiting outside to ask customers for money as they left. They weren’t real aggressive but did come right up to my car and some girls outside on he terrace moved inside when one gentlemen asked them for money. This won’t be my go to spot because of the prices and panhandlers but I will stop in from time to time.
Got a scone and a chocolate croissant, which both didnt taste fresh or that great. I assume the coffee is better.
Management targets and causes a hostile work environment for their employees at the Baton Rouge location. Lies and makes them sign a write up for something they didnt do. The owners need to fire the manager, because of her bad leading and ugly attitude. Coffee is great, just the management change alone would make the place perfect. The higher ups eyes need to be wide open.
Nice lite breakfast I had a waffle, yogurt, apple slices with honey and just a cup of dark roast. Deliciously bold coffee I was ready to take on the week lol.
Cute place with a lot of personality! More, the atmosphere is engaging and welcoming. The people who work at French Truck are absolutely delightful! Willing to answer any questions. They definitely seem to go the extra mile for their customers. Try the grilled cheese with fruit compote! So delicious!
Good coffee. I got the iced new Orleans. Only thing I would suggest is asking them to go light on the ice.
My reviews are biased toward 5⭐ but Id rate French Truck higher. Good, fresh beans, roasted perfectly. Young man at the counter knew his trade. Their cold-brew is delicious. When Baton Rouge was covered in ice, and and no power, it was a quiet haven to re-charge and charge the batteries
From the outside it immediately feels like a hipster coffee shop, enough so that a guy with a flannel shirt and a curved moustache was sitting at the window. Concrete floors, exposed filament lights, unfinished ceilings, pastel colors - its like they got it out of a magazine, as weve all seen this style a million times. When you walk in youll see they roast their own beans. The fancy cold brew machines line the counter. Pricing is fairly standard at $3.50-4.50 for most drinks (besides drip).Service is very friendly, always had a smile and plenty cheerful.Coffee was pretty good, I got what appears to be their flagship drink (milk iced coffee) and it tasted like nothing but milk - quite a let down. My friend got a pourover which was nice, though. All in all it feels a little too cookie cutter for my taste. Coffee was so-so. Service was outstanding though, so Id come back at some point.
Emma was the most lovely worker. She made a great recommendation and made the environment very comfortable and uplifted. Great experience with amazing beverages.
OMG. Great food. Especially the waffles.
Love the coffee and staff here. My son’s school is around the corner so it’s my go-to place for work when I have to drop him off.
Nice little place. Should have more vegan friendly breakfast options. I got the croissant sandwich, replaced the bacon with avocado... loved it!
The waffle sandwich was great and so was the iced coffee.
Cute little place with delicious breakfast and coffee. I had the yummy salmon toast. The combination of goat cheese, caper, and salmon was perfect. Also tried cafe au lait which was delicious.
Super great place for good, specialty coffee!
Interesting coffee choices, decent breakfast, great location and ambiance.
Delicious coffee and food, especially the breakfast biscuits.
The waffles are more like cookies way too sweet but the croissants are really good
The best coffee ever 😋
This is my favorite latte in town. Its definitely a 1-2 time per week treat because its a little expensive. But, the quality of the coffee makes it worth it. The menu is simple but good. The pastries are also great quality. Ive had some of their breakfast toasts which are very good.
Never have I ever felt so unwanted in a coffee shop. I have studied in coffee shops for years and always loved this place. But- this time was different. I was told I would be CHARGED for a CUP of tap water bc i had been “sitting there too long”. I was there for an hour by this point.I was also barked at to pull my mask on my face after waiting a few seconds after unlocking my phone with Face ID- (mind you, I work in healthcare and understand the gravity of mask wearing- I was 6+ feet away from everyone except my roommate sitting with me). The problem here was that I felt totally watched, and invaded. It’s just disappointing to try and support local businesses at this time when they do not treat you like a guest or as if they want you there.
Best coffee house coffee in town and delightful batistas.
Great service, safety measures. Staff remembers regulars even masked up! Great to have an option where staff take masking seriously..
Always my go-to for a lovely cup of coffee when I visit Baton Rouge! Online ordering was easy, and my pourover was ready when I arrived.
Yes awesome just please bring back the old citron truckThe coffee is not the heavy typical Louisiana smoke roast. Its a nice change and done nicely. The oji drip if you havent tried it then please do. Its lower in acid and great on a hot summer day. I add a touch of vanilla and honey to it 😋
Dont really know, Ive never been there. I did eat acoss the street at pork city grill. It was fan tas tic!
Cool Vibe
Wonderful coffee, food, and atmosphere
I like the New Orleans style iced coffee, the quinoa salad, and the pastries. The employees are super nice and helpful and that means a lot.
Coffee was amazing. I got the NOLA iced coffee and my mouth waters when I think about it. Cookies were yummy as well. Easy, relaxed vibe without feeling too hipster. No comfy places to sit which would have pushed it to 5 stars for me.
A bit too pricey to make a regular stop, but the coffee is consistently awesome.
This place is backwards...been 2x now...no menu at order line 4 food on wall nor before ordering...large drip coffee only in paper cup unless you rationalize with help...the idea of having the service freshen you coffee or a partial refill results in a snide comment as I received by 2 different employees with one stating you should thats done by the person near register but Ill do it this one time and refills are not included but Ill go ahead anyway. Typical of the age of this generation to have anything other than a dont bother me attitude. As an entrepreneur I find this operation disappointing to put it mildly. My wife orders a latte and nobody calls out a number or a name, let alone deliver to a table. This place is fortunate to enjoy a lot of traffic. But, I will never return.
Excellent coffee. Cold drip and pour over were wonderful. Great flavors.
Parking can be tight, but the vibe is good, and there is a great mix of folk here working, hanging, chatting, and reflecting. Ive enjoyed two decaf pour-over coffees, but I hope they can bring the decaf to the espresso machine sometime soon! Oh, and I like that I receive a real mug (no cardboard or plastic!) when I order my pour-over to have there.
Great coffee and atmosphere.
YUMMY! You can always find a French Truck by the bright yellow exterior, calling you to come on in and get a NOLA iced coffee. Not bitter and not too sweet either, this drink is perfect on those hot humid days (of which there are PLENTY of in new Orleans..) The service was prompt and fast, and theres not much seating but thats ok. Its more of a quick stop type coffee shop anyways. You can actually see through the back area where they process and package their beans--very cool!
Such a cute place to get breakfast on a Sunday! The staff was so nice and friendly. I realised I made a mistake in my order after I received my food and offered to pay again for the correction but they immediately corrected my order to what I wanted with no charge!
Good latte. Great space.
Good coffee and breakfast selections. :)
Great atmosphere and excellent menu
Good place for great coffee, the prices are not outrageous, and the service has been great. They also offer a fairly wide variety of coffee types such as Japanese cold drip, pour over, and the regular coffee fare. They also carry teas as well as some great sandwiches and foodstuffs. if youre ever in the area its definitely worth a swinging by.
The best iced coffee on this side of town
Excellent cup of coffee in an excellent trendy atmosphere. Great Cafe Ole! Plenty of seating and relatively great speed of service.
Coffee was good but doubt we will go back. They guy making coffee skipped one of our drinks to make a drink for a girl he was flirting with. He didnt answer me when I asked for lids and straws.
Amazing coffee and a really nice atmosphere for working or hanging out.
Wish they had more parking spots but other than that - excellent! Would recommend
Fantastic lattes - hot and iced! Their pastry selection is okay, but not standout. Bags of roasted whole beans are great. They offer demos on Saturday mornings, which are a ton of fun!
Coffee to Strong for me
New Orleans iced coffee is the real star here but Ive never had a bad brew. Always consistent and the staff are always pleasant. Nice quiet inside for conversation.
Best coffee in town, great food and service
Love their different roast varieties!
After waiting half an hour for our drinks when there were very few people ordering, our coffee was done of the worst Ive had. This may be the worst cup of coffee Ive had. I would not recommend going here unfortunately. I did not try the pastries but the only reason I did not give a one star is the location is a nice place to sit and relax. Hopefully they change whatever means of making coffee they currently have, whether it be staff that does not understand how to make it or poor ingredients.
A little known thing about French Truck is their excellent food menu. I love the Quinoa bowl with a hard boiled egg.
Best whole bean coffee in Baton Rouge
Heard great things about this place and was excited to try it. Staff was so rude and unhelpful that I walked out. Definitely wouldnt spend that kind of money on coffee to be treated so poorly.
Very quaint but cool feel to this place and the French truck sitting out front is very neat. My late was good, but Im not enough of a coffee drinker for that to carry any weight. My friend Wes, however, says that this is his wifes very favorite coffee place around here!
The only good thing here is Nola coffee. Even then, I am not sure if it is worth it for me to drive 15 minutes for it. I ordered their grilled cheese and asking for salad with croutons. I had no idea they even charge a dollar extra for croutons. Then, it took them 25 minutes to bring it out. And the server told me I hope you dont mind the cheese on the top.. because we ran out of croutons. I was just shocked. First, you charged me an extra dollar for croutons, but you didnt even have it in the first place and cheese?! Who asked for cheese.... I was just really disppointed in their customer service. I probably wont go back and especially for their overpriced lunch and pastries.
Limited selection but very tasty sandwiches. Coffee and its variations are excellent.
Fantastic Coffee Shop. Atmosphere is great with large windows and ample natural light. The staff is always polite and greet you with a smile. Its close proximity to my home and downtown make it great to stop in for iced coffee. I only wish it stayed open a little longer then 6pm.Highly recommend if you are in Baton Rouge/midcity.
Really great coffee. Great service as well. They really pay attention to what you want. My only complaint is its kinda pricey but.. You get a great product so.
Had the Oji cold brew and a breakfast sandwich. The coffee was lovely, clean and fruity. After taste was a little rough, but Im not familiar with the brewing method. Sandwich was good and came with a bit of strawberry and mint compote which was fantastic.
My toast was okay. My coffee was okay. 3 stars.
Great little coffee place. Coffee was good. Have food and desserts. The location itself is very nice. Atmosphere is great.
Great customer service and wonderful food in a cool, relaxed environment. They can get pretty busy at times, which is a bummer if youre looking for a quiet place to work, but in their less-busy hours its a nice place to sit down and write, read, or chat!
Iced tea was good. Quiet place to think, work or relax. Outside and shaded indoor seating.
Looking for a coffee and stopped in here. I think they have some of the best coffee Ive tasted. Forget Starbucks, CCs seems pedestrian....try this place. More than one location in town. Good luck yall!
Love the coffee. And the staff is always so friendly.
Cool little custom bean roaster and coffee shop offering baked goods and sandwiches. Very nice adaptation of an old building in a trendingpart of town. Great service, good coffee, excellent baked goods!
Coffee is okay, gorgeous but packed lobby area. My boyfriend enjoys their fresh beans but they’re in house coffee is just okay. Not many options (or flavors)
Great little coffee place with interesting specials and pastries, and a friendly staff.
Phenomenal experience. Courteous staff, great ambiance and the food and coffee was excellent.
Stopped by this place last week and thought of leaving them a quick review. A great place to enjoy your coffee.
They really need to keep the water pot full, this would make it a great place
Such a rude comment. My day was fine when I reviewed your place a year ago. My low rating was not about having a bad day, but rather having a bad experience with poor service, overpriced pastries and overpriced coffee.
Interesting menu and very good coffee drinks
Good coffee, good breakfast items, good atmosphere, slow service. If you order something hot to eat get ready to wait 15+ min. Espresso takes on average 5+ min.
Great little spot. Only reason I didnt do 5 stars is because it was Hot in there.
