Greg and the team over at Beachwood Bicycles were great. Called up looking to get into the MTB world, answered all of my novice questions and within the next shipment of bikes had me riding out the door.

Thanks to Dan for setting me up with a new rear 27 wheel for my 1978 Schwinn Continental II. I dropped off just the old wheel assembly. They removed the cassette from the old wheel and installed it on the new wheel plus swapping my tire to the new wheel with a new inner tube. My old parts were saved and returned to me and the job was ready later in the day. I installed the wheel and now Im fast as the wind. Thanks Beachwood Bicycle, my bike shop.

Purchased 6 bikes here over the years from BMX when the kids were younger to beach cruisers and hybrids as well as numerous services and accessories. Greg and his team are without exception polite, professional and extremely knowledgeable! Recommend them without hesitation for all cycling needs regardless of skill level.

Ive been a customer of Beachwood Bikes since 2010. I have purchased several bikes there and have sent many people there for new bikes. Everyone I have sent there has had a great experience. They are extremely knowledgeable, and at the same time, friendly and professional. Repairs are done right the first time and pricing is very fair. I just went there again recently with a friend because she wanted a new bike. As expected, the assistance she received from Greg was superb. The shop is kept beautifully and makes it fun to browse. Its my go-to bike shop, the best around.

Horrible customer service, bought BMX Bike from here, had a problem with the forks which bent, my son called the shop to see if it was something that would be under warranty, They told him no but he could try and call the bike manufacturer which we did and they we super helpful and said that they would send him out new forks, which at the time they suggested we upgrade and that they would discount the original price so we went with the upgraded forks from the bike manufacturer, they came in the mail my son put them on and ran into an issue, so he brought his bike back to this shop to see if they can help him out. They said I can fix in now it would take 2 minutes but because you didnt buy the part from us it will be 5 to 6 weeks, he left the store upset and called me to tell me what happened, I immediately called the store and explained to the person on the phone that we called and they told us to go through bike manufacturer, which is what we did, and I would have purchased the forks through them but they were under warranty through the bike Manufacturer. The person I spoke to said he would put me into the work Que and that they will give me a call in about 2 weeks. My son who is 15 and extremely upset that he has no bike which he saved his own money to pay for, and was told the issue could have been fixed in 2 minutes left a one star review, So the next phone call I got was from the OWNER, he was extremely rude and would not let me explain anything to him, toward the end of him speaking over me the whole time he stated that they will NOT service my sons bike unless he removes his review, I truly feel like that is considered bullying and threatening, how many other people did he bully into taking bad reviews down. I tried to explain the situation and maybe start over but he did not want to hear my story at all, he was rude and arrogant.

I am back to riding. I had total knee replacement surgery and want to keep the knee moving. For safety sake i chose an adult tricycle. The workers at Beachwood Bicycles were so helpful. So many things were explained to me and i felt confident that i was getting a great product. Thanks for the boost in my confidence. The bike arrived at my home late yesterday andto day it raining so no bike riding today. I cant wait to ride and get my knee moving again. If you need a bike go... run... to Beachwood Bicycles. You wont be disappointed.

I have been a customer of Beachwood bikes for many years and they always seem to impress. Very knowledgeable, courteous staff that take the time to answer any questions you may have. All the bike mechanic highly experienced, professional, and do quality work.While not currently in the market for a bike (always love to look) nevertheless they gave me good advice and answered my many questions. I came away with a better understanding of what I need and because of this, when Im ready to buy itll be Beachwood Bikes.

Good selection of bikes, parts,and accessories. The staff is pretty knowledgeable but dont always ask the right questions to get what a customer really needs. Average prices on everything.

My friend and I stopped in there looking for a bike for myself. Ended up leaving with two Electra Cruisers. Very stoked to ride them as soon as the weather permits. Staff was very courteous and our salesman (Creet...I hope I have that right) was knowledgeable and helpful. Got two baskets for the bikes too because you cant have a beach cruiser without a basket. Will return for future business!

Terrible service! We called and told them we were on our way to get bicycle break pads, the guy asked the number of the pads to confirm he had them. We told him we would be in there in 10 and he said see you soon, I have the break pads. We got there right at the time told and the owner would not open the door. We told him we just spoke on the phone and he didn’t care, he was so rude. Clearly doesn’t need anyone’s business. Other small bike shops around have way better customer service!

I took my grandsons wheel there this morning for repair. The service was very prompt and friendly. The technician showed me that a wheel defect had caused the inner tube to be punctured. He repaired the wheel, replaced a new tube, remounted the tire to the wheel, and gave me advice on the correct air pressure for a childs bicycle. I was in and out of the shop in about 15-20 minutes. I cant speak highly enough of the courtesy, expertise, and friendliness of this shop. And the cost was less than I expected. I cant recommend Beachwood Bicycles highly enough. Very nice place to do business. Thank you Beachwood.

I want to start off by saying this is the first bad review I’ve ever left.. I went into this place a couple weeks before Christmas to have two tires put on my sons bike. They were a little busy and they ended up putting tires on for a very good price. I tipped the bike tech very well, in fact more than they charged me for the service. I told the gentleman at counter I appreciate him getting me in and they will have a good customer being I own four bikes.. so this past Saturday the 13th, I showed up at 10am when they opened and I walked up to owner and his two workers slitting outside the shop. He told me first that they weren’t going to be open for 15 more minutes even though it was about 10:10 at this point. So he then proceeded to ask me what I needed and I asked him if I could have two tires put on. He replied very sarcastically “ no, not at all” w a smirk on his face. He said” it’s Saturday, and even if I did it, u would have to leave the bike”. I would’ve been fine w him saying, we are really busy Saturday and you would have to make an appointment or let him know in advance. But to reply w a smart comment, I understand why people on here had left reviews about him being an arrogant owner. The reviews of this guy on here seem to be dead on when it comes to his arrogance.. What a great place. I went in to get a cheap bike seat for my son to use for a trip next week. He only uses the bike may be once a year, so I didn’t want to spend a lot. They were out of cheaper bike seats (only had high end seats for serious riders). The owner just gave me a cheap spare they had for free! Thank you so much. Another awesome experience at BB this week...my third bike purchase with Greg. Great sales and service experience each visit over the years. Over 20 texts and calls over 2 weeks to get the details just right. Much better to deal with experienced, local professionals...no thanks to dealing over the internet or Walmart specials! Absolutely terrible, worst person I have ever spoke to gave me the most attitude because I didn’t buy the bike part from them, after they told me to purchase it from the maker of the bike part.

Never disappointed with a trip to Beachwood Bikes. They have a varied selection of bikes for all disciplines with all of the gear and accessories that you may need. The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to answer questions. If you have a mechanical issue, theyll get you squared away and turning over the cranks in no time.

Being there is very few bike shops in Ocean County, I find myself at Beachwood Bikes often. I understand not wanting to work on bikes purchased else where, that they dont sell or covid but the pompous, arogagant attitude isnt just the worst of it. Trying to get parts was like it was beneath them. The serviceman first gives me a bit of an attitude like iam annoying him, then sells me the wrong part, that he diagnosed from my bike and said was the right one. Everyone makes mistakes, I come back with the part and another part he said to bring back once I removed it to, to replace. After a few minute of finding the correct original part n 5 minutes of looking for the other, he say he doesnt have it. Ok, what is it, can you order it? NO, Google it your self, Idk what it is. WELL HOW WHERE YOU LOOKING FOR IT. I try to be courtesy n friendly but they are just terrible n it take humility not to snap in them

Ive had family members have work done on their bike and they had to bring the bike somewhere else to fix what this shop messed up.When they originally tried to speak to someone to get the problem solved they were treated very rudely.If you are looking for customer service and quality work I would suggest that you look somewhere else!

I read the horror stories about the owner of this place and thought he couldnt possibly be that bad. However, after a visit to the shop I was proven wrong. Extremely arrogant and unhelpful, wont even touch your bike unless you bought it from him. I guess business must be so great that you dont need customers, makes sense when you charge double your competition. Wish your business all the best!Edit: Owners response is laughable. You think Id ever come back here? You did not attempt anything, you refused to even LOOK at my bike let alone evaluate it or give me an estimate. I said I didnt buy it from you, and you refused to even let me bring it in the shop.

On a whim went to Beachwood Bicycles to see if they could adjust the brakes on an off road wheelchair. They did it quick and charged minimal. If i needed a bicycle or bicycle repair i would consider them for sure!

If you want a bike I would strongly suggest avoiding Beachwood Bicycles. I went over there yesterday and decided on the bike I wanted, discussed all the details of it and chose accessories, he stated it would be ready for pick up today, he provided me my quote via email like he said he was doing for customers and I responded immediately with the go ahead. This was at 5:30pm. Just now at 11:30am the following day I get an email that he sold the bike to someone else. So I respond that Im very frustrated and may need to look elsewhere. So after all that he responded with a long email explaining how inundated they are (understandable with covid) BUT I was dealing with emails until 11pm last night (We email exchanged at 530pm)...the last thing I ever like to do is lose a customer especially by no fault of my own. Take some ownership! Unreal! Very poor way of handling business. I took my business to Manasquan Bike Shop who not only had the bike I was looking for but it was even cheaper Glad I didnt give Beachwood Bicycles my money.

Amended: I’m happy to say after a while, Beachwood Bicycles has reached out to me and corrected the issue below. Thank you.Beachwood Bicycles. I will never shop here again I’ve spent over $500 here this year alone and another $60 here today. I bought 3 tubes. I’ve never used tools to install a tube, I make certain the rubber hub guard is in place and I always blow the tube up before I install it. I had received a bad out of the box tube and returned attempted to return it with the receipt because it had four small holes in it. This rant isn’t because they wouldn’t replace the tube or refused a replacement. It’s because they insisted repeatedly that I punctured the tube and it didn’t come out the box that way. Never call a customer a liar. Especially an honest one. My other son is need a new bike this fall. Anyone have any recommendations?

The salespeople in the shop are very honest, help you with the purchase and fit of the bike. I asked for a bike that will inspire a me to work out. the owner Greg showed me the Specialized Sirrus Sport Disc. This bike is light and comfortable to ride, and loaded with high quality components. The rapid fire shifters are quick and smooth. The lower gears make steep inclines a breeze. The disc brakes are amazing! you know that you are able to stop in an emergency. I think I was most impressed by the build quality and attention to detail. The bike is a work of art to look at and a dream to ride.

Called the shop looking for advice on a new mountain bike and spoke with Greg. He was very helpful and spent almost 20 minutes going over different suggestions and pricing. Thank you for spending the extra time, see you guys soon to make a purchase.

If you don’t spend thousands on on of his bikes he doesn’t want to know you. The owner is a condescending jerk if you don’t. I have a simple Schwinn and every time I took it there the owner would talk down to me and make negative comments about my bike. The shop is close by and convenient so I would bite my lip and swallowed my pride because I didn’t want to spite myself. The last straw was when I got a flat tire and took my bike there to get it fixed. I called to make sure they were open and when I was told they were I rushed my bike there. When I walked in with plenty of time to spare the owner was vacuuming the floor and he started yelling over the noise of the vacuum, that the repair shop was closed. He wouldn’t even turn the vacuum off to talk to me. The bike mechanic walked out of the back he yelled for him to tell me the repair shop was closed for two weeks. The guy was sorry there was nothing he could do. The owner closed his repair shop in my face even though I called. I don’t know how he plans to stay in business by treating coustomers so poorly. The guy is just a poser because if his shop is so high end what’s he doing in the poor part of town.

I have not actually visited their shop, but was very impressed in dealing with them in their boxing skills and shipping of a recumbent bike from NJ to Oregon, not an easy task! Thanks guys, It arrived in tact and secure, great job!Best Regards,Paul Carew

Brought my sons broken bike here yesterday, at first they were not sure if it was fixable, but they were able to order the part that was needed, while I was there they didnt try to sell me a new bike to push anything on me. My son is attached to his bike so Im happy they could fix it

This is an amazing shop that can help everyone from a first time rider to a professional cyclist. They took my iron horse and brought her back to life! Its a bit of a drive for me to do business there but its worth every dime. Great service, excellent mechanic, friendly staff and friendly dogs. The turn around time on a complete tear-down and rebuild was about a week! A week in the middle of summer!!!! I love this place and will keep coming back as long as i own a bicycle.

It’s so funny looking at all the reviews about the a*whole owner of this place from 2 years ago and I go to return a tube I bought that had a hole in it and the owner tells me that I put the hole there and will not refund me for MY mistakes... lol guess some people don’t change, not even after 2 years

Over the summer I was trying to get a bike and at this point I had been to many other bike shops. I went to Beachwood Bikes and found a bike that I loved. They had to build it so I left and then was going to go back later. Something happened so they said I could come back the next day to receive the bike. The next day came and they sold the bike to another person. I was very very disappointed. But it doesnt matter because I got a wayyy better bike at a shop in Howell

Ive been a happy customer for over 15 years. Have purchased 5 bikes and have had others customized.

I had my bike fixed here at Beachwood Bicycles. It needed more repairs,but the owner could not be bothered to help me finish getting it fixed. This is not your neighborhood bicycle shop. The owner is arrogant. I suppose he feels he has enough business selling expensive bicycles to professional cyclists. The mechanic is great, but due to the owner, I can not recommend this place.

I have been to Beachwood Bicycles before to have my bike looked at, including brake pads and a new seat and they helped with the bike that the kids had. However, something changed today. I brought my bike in to have the chain looked at as it seems to be slipping at times. So after that was explained, the guy wouldnt even take a look at it. I was told they dont deal with department store bikes and mine isnt a high end bike. Sorry, but that was attitude is elitist and arrogant and I felt like I was being looked down on. My bike is about 20 years old and I dont remember where I got it, it may have been another bike shop. I have dealt with other bike shops in the county and out of state and never had they given me grief about having a less expensive bike. They worked on it, no questions. Beachwood Bicycles has lost my business.

It is not about the money with Beachwood Bicycles they give affordable repairs, fast and courteous service and is willing to advise you over the phone the best they can. It is my go to place !

I communicated with this shop about a used bike they were selling online. I made them an offer, they countered and I accepted. Then they messaged that the bike had been sold. This is suspicious becuase the bike had been online for 2 months. Im guessing they used my offer to squeeze someone else who had been on the fence. Also they described this 4yo bike as having under 1000 miles, but wear on the crank indicated heavy usage. Buyer beware with this shop.

Great :LBS. Deals with quality bikes which is to say not kmart or walmart bikes. I have been dealing with this shop for several years and recommend anyone looking for a quality bike to go there. That being said if you dont want to spend the money to have a good quality bike then avoid the place as they dont deal in the lower end models. If you want the better bike this is the place to go and they deal with 500-10000. Starter to pro bikes- I hate going there because I always see something else I want to try.

You would be better off going elsewhere ! I went in to get a brake cable for my sons bike, that was bought there, and they sold me, what was supposed to be a superior cable to the original ONE PIECE cable . as it turns out, this SUPERIOR cable had to be dismantled, cut to size, and then reassembled with a special crimping tool . none of the employees mentioned this to me until my second trip back . I can tell you with absolute certainty, once you cut the originally bonded ball end off of any cable it is no longer nearly as reliable as the original bonded ball end . Of course when i went back they said they would do this for 10.00 . which in itself is no big deal ! But why not mention this to me when i bought the cable in the first place . Also . when i first called to find out if they had the correct cable i was told to bring the original to match up because they have a HUGE selection of cables . Yet when i went back, suddenly, we dont have that ORIGINAL CABLE, the one we sold you is CUT TO FIT UNIVERSAL ..... Not to mention, when i first called, i said hello, good morning, and it was nothing but silence until i began to elaborate as to why i was calling. In other words, they dont even care to say hello or good morning to the people who give them business . This is all too typical in the new world of inconsiderate people who feel no need to be courteous . AS if they are the only bike shop in town . BTW dont believe all the five star reviews you see here . Oh, one more thing, i went to the bike shop in lacey and picked up the ORIGINAL DIRECT FIT CABLE for 17.00 and the Gentlemen was courteous and appreciative of my business .

Had the pleasure of visiting this place after a ride.You enter the shop to a welcome greeting and quickly realize these guys (Greg,Adam,Jeff) are all about bikes.They are stocked up, and with all the best parts for MTB (diety,renthal,enve,chromag,shimano,sram,hope,i9,etc)and the list goes on and on with upgrades you can get without waiting for shipping. You leave learning something or with something you want/need. Very satisfying feeling shopping here.

Every time knowledgeable and friendly. Recently took wheel in for new spoke, retape and truing, done perfectly. Asked another shop if they can retape my Tubeless wheel, they asked me what is a Tubeless wheel?. It is worth it to go somewhere where the workers are also local, well versed MTB riders.
