We use to come to this store all the way from Salem to buy stuff. Today (08/21/2021) it was 8.15 pm when we got there. We only needed to buy some chicken. I understand they close at 8.30pm but we went in as it said open. The guy there was cleaning & he heard the bell when we enter and he saw we were standing there around 10 minutes. But he didn’t even look at us and at least didn’t say the store is about to close & he has no time to serve us. Really disappointed about the service. It’s not necessary to serve us if there‘s no time but ignoring the customer who’s waiting without uttering a word is highly unacceptable.
Good collection and portions of spices, but the meat is mostly stew meat filled with bones and fat. No options at all at the store to buy smaller portions so you end up paying more. The take it or leave it is surely disappointing. I will go for the spices but not for the meat.
Excellent customer service every time, super helpful staff and well stocked.Highly recommend
If you want to grab a quality lamb this is the great place for you. They always have fresh lamb meat and goat as well. Staff are friendly I reccommend this place.
I was simply looking for water here, and it took a good 5 minutes to find it.After doing so, I shortly realized that they only had 3 bottles of Smart Water and nothing else.
Not only must the slaughter be clean and as mercyful (halal) but the price has to be reasonable and adorable (halal) and this place has both with a smile and a warm scene of welcoming. Ill be going here from now on if anyone wants to know just give this place a try and youll be delighted. I was a little taken by the amount of oregonians that shop there I felt very welcomed.
Such a DISAPPOINTMENT by the owner name Adnan. On Thursday afternoon around 1:30 I asked him to cut me beef Shang and he ask me to come back after few hours since beef delivery is here. I went back on Friday morning and he hand me over $72 worth of bag was waiting for me. I took that bag in good faith and bring it home, find out No beef Shang meat in it. All the junk meat in it.(its almost like you askT-bone and you get chuck roast) Seriously? Not sure how much profit he gained by doing this!My advice to everyone DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM.He always have an attitude and his style istake it or leave it NO customer service skills whatsoever. He has two workers Name Owis and Oscar, Excellent guys but unfortunately Im not going there. He lost my business forever.
They don’t have anything in small quantities. I went to get goat meat and 3 lbs was the smallest one they had.
I had been to many times but recent times i notice that they are charging more money... Last time i bought goat legs for the soup and it was 7.99 per pound but it was $2 per pound. When i asked that i got the answer saying that lot of work involved in it. DAMN. Be reasonable.
The owner and the people work there seems friendly and nice. I do not check the expiration date when I buy stuff from them, but my wife started to check when I go home. Last week I bought spices that was expired. My wife noticed the expired date. I went back to the store and the owner exchanged it with no problem. I buy a lot of zero alcohols drink from them. My wife noticed that all the drinks we got from them have expired in April. I went back requesting exchanging a full cartoon, which is worth $36. I looked at the same type of drinks on the shelves and the store ground they were all expired in April. This time the owner refused telling me that I should not buy a lot of this drink. He told me that the he gets the drink with a couple of month only expiration date. I used to spend hundreds of dollars a week buying from this store. Not any more.
I am a regular customer here and I love this place. I love how polite, honest and incredible Wais, who works in the meat section, is. He is always honest and he provides an incredible customer service experience to people.
I have been coming here since the opening. This store is well stocked at all times. Great products and customer service.
This is a great place to pick up lamb, goat, and other Middle Eastern foods. The service can be a bit abrupt, but the lamb and goat are excellent.
This is an okay store where one can get the halal meats. However, buyer beware, unbeknownst to you, they would add charges for cutting meat. I recently noticed that they underhandedly added an extra $5 charge to my meat purchase since I asked them to cut the chicken quarters in half. They never tell that there would be a charge for cutting, or they would be adding an extra fee for cutting. This is highly unprofessional and fraudulent. When confronted, they just made up a policy that they do that, while nowhere in the store they have this mentioned.I suggest take your business elsewhere, such as Mingala or Bazaar food market, both of which do not add unauthorized charges for cutting meat.
Love this market!! We have been coming here over 6 years. My mom loves the different tea selection and all the spices! Many items you cant find anywhere else! The owner is super nice and helpful!!
A tad small but stuffed with imports, spices and fresh meat (they have a supplier and can tell you the day they harvest)
Disgusting costumer service. The employee that cuts up the meat was disrespectful to my elderly mother who was asking questions. And I quote “you’re giving me a headache lady” and when I intervene he said we should go shop somewhere else because we were asking too many questions. Will never step foot in this halal store. I’m more than happy to take my business to the halal store in portland even if it’s an hour commute. What’s even worse is the cashier and none of the other store staff intervened. Poorly handled. I would not recommend.
I have been visiting them for 4 years now. The quality of their meat products is better than the other places that sell goat meat. They get meat every Tuesday night, so if you are looking for fresh meat, Wednesday is when you should visit them.
I have been going there for almost 2 years. I got best meat most of the times. Excellent service and friendly staff.
Good place to buy meats
Great market, closest thing I have found to a German-style Turkish grocery in the Portland area. Lots of dried/canned/frozen goods for mediterranean/middle-eastern meals.
We went there to get tea. The tea section was very small with few choices. And many of the teas were already expired. Told the owner about the expired items but he ignored and said it’s just a tea. They don’t go bad. Left without shopping. Never been to a store with so many expired items on the shelves.
They have the best customer service! The care for their customers and what they like and want. We love your store and will be back no doubt!
Very very helpful staff. They were so nice and they helped me get exactly what I wanted. All meats are halal, both fresh and processed with a grocery inside.I dont know if its just me, but I couldnt explain why all the fresh chicken was deskinned. I didnt like either.I had to go for the whole frozen instead of the fresh for only that reason.
Its a good place to go for a quick bite to eat but if youre looking for an amazing gyro then there are a lot better places to go, but overall not bad, just not great
This market has overpriced items. Some of the products are expired and unsafe that they are not investigated by the health department. The pricing is way over the normal comparing their stock items to other halal and normal groceries stores. I do not recommend this market.
A lot of Turkish products that we missed.
They are providing fresh halal meat very tinder and delicious, I love their grocery selection......
A good place to get goat meat. Occasion goat liver too. Have good collection of middle eastern sweets as well
They are getting better. There are a lot of good products. But, they should sell more Turkish products because of quality. I usually get halal meat, chicken from this market. It is a good place for shopping.
Very nice store. Prices were very good on produce! Very fresh. I didnt look around a lot but, loved the pinatas. Folks there were very friendly.
Friendly staff and great verity of food from across the globe. Highly recommend to get authentic middle eastern spices and desserts. The halal offerings are A LOT which is great too.
Ive been a regular since they opened. Love the hardworking staff. They are honest and customer oriented. Will not upsell just to get the product out the door--provide suggestions as to what halal meat is appropriate for the type of cooking you intend on doing. Small shop, big personality and heart.
This is an awesome halal Middle Eastern grocery shop, with in-your-face halal products Ive not seen before. The first thing I noticed were the halal variants on pork bacon; pork is, of course, not halal. Heres beef and turkey bacon strips.Strolling past freezers, stocked with bags of cuts of meats, and past shelves, filled with the ingredients needed to make all kinds of Middle Eastern snacks and meals, I stumbled across several brands halal SPAM.Continuing past racks of beans, rice, and other staples I round the corner to see both basic spices and pre-mixed seasonings for every dish Ive heard of. Not just the basic selection of spices commonly found but about five times that number. Im quite impressed.
We love this little market. So much goodies its hard to decide what not to get. Great service. Great prices. And the dates are mouthwatering.
Great service !
Best goat meat in town. Nice people over here, well-spoken and polite. The young man behind the meat counter works hard to give you a good clean cut of meat any way you want.
Good quality halal meet. Good service and everything clean! They do fresh cuts and your choice of cuts...
Has lots of options and variety
From A-Z all meat products are hand slaughtered HALAL. Reasonable prices and lots of options. Great store. Five stars
Meat is good come try
Price is a bit higher compare to other halal stores. Meat quality is most of the time good than other stores. Owner needs to be a bit polite with welcoming and smile rather than grumpy.
Had a worst customer service experience ever. I was waiting in the meat section with my family and the guy showed up after 10 mins then asked me to wait for a couple of mins. Hes just checking his mobile and looking into his smart watch then helping others customers who came after me. Finally, after 20 min he started working and I thought its going to end but he took another customer and started billing his things. Very frustrated with his behavior.
A really pleasant place to stop to shop for Indian spices.
Always great produce and great prices. They carry variety of spices, tea, authentic camomille, Roses tea. Many different type of dates, tea and coffee with cardamom.
Nice and clean meat. Always good service. Fair prices
Had a worst customer service experience ever. Owner needs to be a bit polite with welcoming and smile rather than grumpy.
Excellent service good quality meatThanks
This place is so clean and nice Customer service
Good just cashier not so friendly
It is the best Hala market I seen in Aloha they have very fresh Halal meat and they have many traditional food too
It’s better if you go on Tuesday nights or Friday, that’s when they get deliveries . This os not a butcher shop.
Fresh meat I love it
Good place to shop for halal meat - clean and fresh. Also good collections of Middle Eastern/Indian/Pakistani spices .Nice friendly staff.
I got goat meat 3.50 pounds packet. No meat, all ribs and bones, low grade. Charged me 7$ each pound. I felt cheated.
Meat is always fresh. Good chicken plus the restaurant next door
Very best shop for authentic goods
Yesterday was the first time my family bought meat there comming from Albany or and we can’t tell you how tender out lamb chops was omg it took us 4 diff stores til we found a good one also prices are good service was great Javaid and Cathy
Good halal meat options as well as internatiknal products.
A very small and friendly middle eastern grocery store.
They had a wide variety of things that are difficult to obtain like Labne (Lebanese soft cheese, soooo good) and they had the best quality lamb, for the best price Ive seen around in their freezer section. They were friendly and helpful when I asked questions.
Large selection of hard to find halal foods, spices, drinks and best of all has fresh halal meats.
Only Halal market in my neighborhood. Great people.
Ive been getting meat from here for the last3 months, a little concerned with the amount of blood their beef has. I dont know if anyone else every noticed that.
Recommended place to get Halal meat around beaverton though they are little pricey.
Fresh meat, nice service, simple and clean, will definitely re-visit
