Door install went great and works fine. Couple years on and I need to replace the seal around the door as Ive re-sided my house and painted the garage door. Ive called 5 times in ten days, leaving two messages, and was on hold today for 7 minutes before giving up. I have never had to try so hard to give someone money. I am going to call North Shore Door. All I need is stupid perimeter seal.

We had Derek from Overhead Door come and install a new model that included wifi and a camera in the ceiling mounted opener. Derek took the old opener and reinstalled it into another bay that didnt have one. This is a fantastic garage door opener, very quiet and you can open and close it from anywhere because of its wifi connection. It has bright motion activated led light that we love! Derek was very polite and on time. He really impressed us with his knowledge and efficiency with the installation, he even programmed my cars built in remote opener. We also had spoken with Sierra who scheduled the appointment and she was very professional and knowledgeable about the product. We have used Overhead Door for years and will continue to due to the quality products and great service they offer!

Pretty awful experience. I put down a deposit in February for doors and had them measured and ordered in April. I’m still waiting to have them installed (coming up on 6 months later). I get that everyone is having supply issues and I don’t fault them for not delivering on their originally planned schedule. What is irritating though is I can’t get a call back no mater how many times I ask. The best I can get out of them is a monthly email that says, “we don’t have your doors and will contact you when we do”. The garage doors are the only thing we need to move into the house.Pretty poor experience all around. Maybe if/when their supply issues turn around things will change, but they clearly don’t know how to set customer expectations or deal with the issues when they arise. Would recommend using someone else.I wanted to follow up on my previous post. I still have not received a phone call from overhead door nor have I received an email response from an email I sent on September 20th (posted below). Again, I get that the supply issues may be outside of your control, but I don’t think I’m overstepping in asking for a phone call to walk me through when I’m likely to get the doors (that you took a large deposit for). If you literally have no idea when doors are going to show up, then that needs to be said as well.Hi Jeff,Im sure this is a very annoying time to be in the garage door business and I understand Im not the only one waiting on doors. Im sure youre getting calls and emails daily and that gets old when the issues are outside of your control. That said, I need more info so I can decide what Im going to do. Did part of my order come in? Terrible customer service. Field technician showed up twice unexpectedly. First to get a measurement on the door they were to replace and a second time to install the door. I got called while I was at work wondering where I was so they could get the door opened to do their work. Sorry, but I’m not leaving work when this wasn’t even a scheduled appointment.After the door was finally installed(which was actually a well done job by the technician) i was informed by the technician that a few of the new panels were dented and he would be back to replace them. Months had gone by and I got a call wondering why my bill hasn’t been paid. Well, I’d prefer the job to be finished before I pay for it. Apologies were given and I was told they’d be on the case shortly. Instead I get an “overdue” bill in the mail two weeks later. Meanwhile I have a newly installed garage door with dents in it.I’ve called and left messages to have someone call me back so we can talk this situation over and get it corrected with no response. I hate to leave a bad review to a local business, but this one is well deserved. Definitely won’t recommend to anyone or be back.

John was nice enough to come over after my garage opener was installed to explain and show me why I was having trouble. (It was user error.) He was very patient and thorough in showing me all of the little things. I haven’t had a problem since!

This was the first time I used Overhead Door Co of Bellingham. The service was outstanding. The tech (John) not only knew what he was doing but was a pleasured to visit with. He fast and did an outstanding job. Shared with me what he did.

Called to have my Overhead Door-installed Galaxy 1000 fixed or at least looked at (the limit settings arent working) Automated call service disconnected me 3 times whenever I chose the service option. Stayed on the line the 4th time and was told that a service tech would call me back within the hour. 3 hours later, nothing. Called a 5th time, was transferred to a voice mail box which stated they would call be back asap. That was 5 hours ago. I dont expect to get a tech out same day, but at least a phone call would be professional. I remember when this company was small enough to care more about customer service. Their service techs have always been great, but the front office needs improvement.

We are extremely happy with the work by Overhead Door Co. this past Wednesday. We had one garage door removed because we were adding a set of french doors for a living room, and an old garage door at our shop removed because we were replacing it with a new insulated garage door and operator installed in its place.Overhead Door Co. originally installed the above garage doors as well as two additional garage doors on the main house in the 49 years since we have owned the property. Dave worked diligently to get the garage doors removed, carefully stacking and protecting one for future reuse on the main house. The other garage door (although it was not going to be reused by us) was dismantled with the same care.Dave installed the new garage door for the shop, paying attention to detail and working with the odd ceiling configuration to mount it. While Dave was getting the new garage door installed the original tech, Lars, that did our quote stopped by to help finish up the install. The two of them made sure the door was put up correctly and worked properly. Dave and Lars did a great job (and had the two key fobs programmed as well) . We asked if Lars could stay a few minutes to program the remote in the car which he agreed to. He made quick work of getting that programmed. We would highly recommend you getting your new garage door from Overhead Door, and if your old garage door needs updating they are great for that, too!

I called two garage door companies in Bellingham to repair the carriage assembly on my Genie screw drive on both doors - a relatively simple repair if it were not for the fact that they did not allow enough space at the end of the drive to get the carriage off. Barrys told me that they would have to charge their standard fee for a door tuneup which was $175 for the first door and another $150 for the second door (plus parts), so I tried Overhead. They came out and charged me $85 per hour (plus parts) and were willing to simply replace the carriage assemblies. They also came out the same day rather than having to wait several days to do it. Total cost was $143 (including parts and tax) and they tuned things up a bit as well and gave me lots of excellent information that will be helpful in the future when I eventually have to replace the entire mechanism. All of this and the service person (I think his name was Tom) was extremely personable and friendly and wore a mask against Covid-19 as well!

Had to have a bottom section of the door replaced and Jeff came out to look things over and get some measurements. He was great, on time, friendly and most importantly knowledgeable. The time came for the install and Pat came out. Once again he was on time, super friendly and really knew what he was doing. He took a lot of extra time to review things and discuss general door health. After he left there was an issue with the opener and I called the office who immediately put me through to Pats cell. Pat came back without question and we walked through several things and tried several settings. He even took the time to explain the inter workings of the opener and how/why it does what it does. It was determined that the opener had a bad board which is what lead to the need to have the bottom of the door replaced, (my fault). Lars came out to install the door opener and like the previous visits, he was on time, super friendly and very knowledgeable. He was even able to setup the old remotes for the new opener and spent extra time explaining the benefits of the new parts. Replacing garage doors is not the most fun thing to spend money and time on but Jeff, Pat, Lars and the ladies in the office (Christine I believe her name was) sure make it a lot less frustrating. Had a garage door torsion spring break on a Saturday morning. I sent an email in via their website and was answered promptly when they opened Monday morning from Jeff. I had said that I would either like an appointment or if they were booked about a week out unless it was an emergency. I brought in my springs and they were able to cut new ones for me (and way faster than I was expecting). Great customer service so far, but it gets better.I go home and install the springs, but the door felt like it bound up about two feet off of the ground. I call in the next morning and speak with Jeff to let him know I better get on the schedule for the next appointment. He asked what kind of problems I had with the install, and when I described them he knew what the problem might be. I went home that night and within an hour my garage door works! There were a couple of times Jeff could have just said lets get you an appointment, but with his knowledge was able to help without an extra charge. I am grateful for the money I didnt have to spend, but more grateful to have our garage door working! Thanks Jeff and team! Its not like a garage door is an everyday purchase, but if any one I know is in the market for a door or service, I wouldnt hesitate to steer them towards the local Overhead Door Co.

John from Overhead Door came to my home to explore fixing a 20-year-old two-car garage door that was buckling. I was most interested in repair vs. replacement simply because I dont like to create unnecessary waste.He was able to repair the door buckle by adding a metal strut across the width of the door. He also added a new seal at the bottom of the door and inspected other working parts. The total repair bill was less than $300, and now my door looks great again.That felt like a fair value to me. I had previously contacted another garage door repair company in Bellingham and they would not even come out to look at the door without me committing to replacing two panels at a cost of over $1,000, plus Id be responsible for repainting the new panels.Im glad that Overhead Door offered a solution that was in line with my repair vs. replace wishes, and that they provided service that was friendly and efficient.

Amazing service! A broken coil trapped my car in the garage an hour before pickup at my sons elementary school. Pat was there within 30 minutes and had me on my way. In less than a week, parts were ordered and Lars had it working perfectly. I would recommend this team to anyone!

I was pretty disappointed with my experience with Overhead Door Company when I was looking for someone to replace my garage door. The gal that answered the phone was nice but not super helpful. She asked me to send pictures and that someone would follow-up with me by the end of the day. I never heard from anyone and about a week later she emailed me to follow-up. I wrote back and told her I hadnt heard from anyone and then I never heard from them again.

The original, low-quality garage door that came with my now 11 yr old house gave out a couple of weeks ago, leaving our cars outside (which was better than having them trapped inside!). I worked with Jeff to discover customize my door, operator and accessories, got an estimate and was able to have the door installed within the time frame I needed, before I had to access to the garage for some other work. The installer - Christopher - arrived when scheduled, was great to work with, and I could not be more pleased with the finished product. I cant believe how quiet the door is now, compared to the old one! Every detail of the product and installation was several steps above the previous one, including a battery backup that will allow us to still use the electric operator during temporary power outages. We had our torsion spring mechanism replaced by Overhead Door and they had told us we needed to replace the Opener unit.So we put and order in and a few days later they had a cancellation and fit us in. David B. showed up on time and got busy replacing the whole opener unit. He worked quickly and efficiently. My wife came home as he was finishing up and asked if he could help program the opener to her in-car button. He gladly help her and also installed an exterior opener pad for us at a great cost!!We are extremely impressed but how professional and helpful the staff of Overhead Door Company had been!! Called for an appointment 2/19 morning for a service call. Lisa at OHDs office hooked me up with a service call for 2/20 ... less than an hour later, Lisa called back with a spur of the moment opening in their work TODAY! John, an old pro arrived 10 minutes later, diagnosed the problem - even had to call Lift Master for information about our openers reluctance to open the door - got the info, made the repairs, replaced batteries in our original remote and programmed both a back up remote and my wifes car to open the door! So we talked at length about quality and prices and he was more than knowledgable and helpful through the whole process. My very old automatic garage door has broken in two different places within the last year. Both times, Overhead Door sent John right over. Last night, the spring snapped at about 8 pm. I called Overhead Door at 8 am this morning, John was here before 9, and the door was operating by 10 am. The companys prices are reasonable and I appreciate that theres no pressure on homeowners to replace their equipment (even when its obviously outdated). Our condominiums replaced garage doors and openers approximately 7 years ago. Installation was quick and professional. John, the lead, on the project was extremely helpful in programming the openers, keypads and our vehicles. Just this past week I accidentally disconnected one of the safe-t-beam sensors which, for some reason, froze the opener. John called to schedule a visit, and arrived withing 25 minutes. He had the problem diagnosed and the opener operating within 10 minutes of arriving. That is what I consider, service above and beyond.
