Mice Problem! Ive been at this location for over a year without a problem. Since the new ownership there is an evident problem with mice. I dont want to bring anything back to my house. I dont know what to do. I have the largest unit there and its just too much stuff to move. I have to pay movers to move it.

The rates here are extremely reasonable and the staff has always been very kind and helpful. I especially enjoyed the help I received today from a very kind and funny woman, her name was Q Like the letter she said 😂 (My apologies though, I should have asked how you spell it). She made my experience very pleasant when I thought a payment had been made but I found out it actually had not. If I have ever had an issue with needing a little more time to pay they have worked with me. I would definitely recommend this storage facility to anyone. ☺️

The facility seems nice and clean, the employees are kind and helpful, there are large overhangs for my car by all the doors, so I can load/unload despite the elements but the push carts are literally always missing, which has made my moving process much more laborious, taxing and inaccessible as a person with a chronic medical issues. I’ve emailed and made complaints in person, as have numerous people I’ve spoken with inside the facility. It’s hard to understand why management seems to be apathetic or unable to solve this issue, and track down those responsible when the building is covered in cameras and we all have individual codes linked to our credit cards and identification.

The staff were extremely helpful at getting me setup and signed out successfully. I originally signed up online with a great deal for a unit I thought would serve my needs perfectly; however, the staff wanted to make sure I would be happy with the unit prior to completing the paperwork. This was a good thing since I definitely didnt want the unit I originally signed up for. They got me in an appropriate unit and still ensured I got a good deal. My closeout when just as seamless. If I need to use self storage again, I will definitely reach out to them.

The price was raised rice in one year, some of the time the security doors were wide open, the automatic lights in front of our unit would not come one unless I went all to the end of the corridor. We rented from one company and then Self Storage Plus took over. Cleanliness of common areas went downhill.

Everyone is friendly and helpful! They units are secure, clean, and easy to access. The carts and elevators make it accessible to those who have a hard time with mobility and help to make trips shorter.

Jamar and Julius have so far been the best customer service regarding Self Storage locations that I have ever received, very detailed with the information that was very much of help to me and my family on getting around the building without problems, also due to the fact that they waited around back for us at the entrance and helped make our loading trip all in one with they’re dollies.They even walked us to our storage unit helping us avoid not being able to locate our unit. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially Afri. The Facility is clean and well managed. The Price is reasonable, although they do have a tendency to bring you in low and increase the rate over Time. Yet, even so, their rates are still below market.

Terrible phone service. I called 5 times, prerecorded prompt tells you to punch in a number to get to the right desk, but never transfers the line and then hangs up on the customer automatically. Waste of time — if you loose business because owners don’t know how to manage simple things.

Very good starting rate, but price was increased a few months after I started. Staff at Beltsville were initially very responsive to contact, however this became poorer over time.

This is a new facility and the communication with the staff has been by far the best that I have experienced. If you have a problem they will be sure to get back to you to fix the issue in record time. The lady that I see on the premises is the young assistant manager or manager and she definitely goes out the way with the best customer service and friendlys attitude by far. Oh yeah, second the price and promotions are the best and it is a very nice facility. Their prices cant be beat. This place is so clean so neat you cannot beat it and cameras are all over the place and sensors.

I’ve been here for 1 year and rates have gone up twice since then, also they don’t have carts to haul stuff with so you need your own cart. I didn’t realize this and had a unit on the 3rd floor, so it’s impractical to have a unit on the 2nd or 3rd floor unless you have your own cart which I don’t ... the elevator is extremely slow, so when you have to carry things one at a time because you don’t have a cart, it can take an hour to get a carload if stuff.I’ve had 3 storage units over the years and this place is by far the worst I’m terms of functionality and at the same time it’s the most expensive. I’m cleaning my stuff out slowly and hoping to get out before the massive rate increase in November.

Not happy with the series of rate increases. Our rate has increased by over 110% in just 16 months. Very clean facility and easy to coordinate. Afra, who runs the location, is super nice and super helpful. I stored my stuff there for over a year and it was easy to move in, out, and everything was clean/dry/in good condition.

I had a unit with them for two years. Initially, the monthly fee went up by $10 every 6mths-year. Then it jump $10/mth three months in a row. I decided to move to a different facility at that point, but had to do it alone while healing from knee surgery, so it took a few days. I moved everything out by the date my new monthly fee was charged and asked if they would kindly reimburse me, since I was all moved out. I was assured it was being worked on, but it was not and no one ever responded to my several phone calls and emails. I have them two stars because the facility was clean and safe. I also got stuck in the elevator during off hours, which had been broken for more than six months.

It’s a bate and switch scheme. The price may be low at first but it will keep increasing every couple of months. Don’t waste time.

I cannot have asked for any better help, assistance, and information. The people that have helped me are stellar. They are patient very welcoming and cheerful. They helped me figure out what I needed and then matched that with what they had available they worked with me aboveAnd beyond and I’m very thankful

Ummm finding a moving cart can take a bit in this place on a good day. I think its 5 in the whole facility. No clear instructions on what to do to keep loading doors open. We propped something in place and within 15 mins mgmt came stating propping door will cause sensor to fault which will cost you$1200.00...😲 mgmt then explained what to do for the door to open automatically 🤔 maybe something in writing right there....go to U-Haul storage worth every penny.

It is rat infested and I have four units and I will never recommend someone to this storage. then they harass you to pay the bill but its okay.

I stored my stuff in that unit in 2019 when it was owned by different owner. Nane changed, employee changed. Not sure who is the manager there. But I cane across someone by the name of Tony who keep on saying g he is tge manager but I dont see any management quality in him. He love to argue. Price jacked up $10 two months abd notified to me. Prices are lot cheaper for new customers. I asked him many tines to ask his Dist. Manager to call me as Tony told me 2 months back that he will add $5 extra instead $10. That was not given to me last month as per his promise. He called me today to pay rent $74. I asked him that why it was $79 last month. He said he emailed me if it is OK $74?Fact is I never received any email from me. He keep in arguing non stop saying he is a manager. Manager never act like that. I asked him to pass my message to the Dist manager. He said he did. He didnt want to give his boss complete name. I asked him my storage size. He said he emailed me. I dont see no email.Not even that he is saying he said today is last day to pay rent abd late charge will be added tomorrow.Basically he is giving me run around faking me saying he emailed me sbd to his boss which is not true and forcing me to pay today or will see late charge.If Tony is really a manager, I will strongly recommend his boss to find someone who know how to talk with respect and dont many stories.

I have nothing but high praises with Self Storage Plus of Powder Mill. First off, the rates for their storage units are very good versus their competitors in the area. Afra Q warmly invited me in when I arrived to retrieve my unit in the main office. She clearly explained everything and made sure I understood the contract in detail. She also made sure I knew how to use the access gate and door and gave me a detailed overview of the facility. Q and her colleague walked me up to my unit to make sure I was satisfied with it and even gave me a demonstration on how to use the gate lock for the unit. I really like the location of the facility as well as the design of it too as there are multiple accesses to enter around the facility as oppose to just one main access point that I am accustom to with previous experiences with past storage unit facilities. I was even impressed on how the facility actually has a public restroom! The facility is also exceptionally clean inside and out. I highly recommend anyone who is need of a great storage facility to look no further and rent without hesitation with Self Storage Plus of Powder Mill.

I reserved a storage unit last summer and Im finally coming to the end of my need for a storage unit. Im sort of sad about it because Ive really enjoyed interacting with the staff here. Really helpful workers and always so nice and polite

I couldn’t be happier with this storage, from the staff to the facility. The ladies at reception warmly welcomed me, they gave me a great deal and an informing tour. Thank you Q and Nikki, you two are stars! The facility is clean, well kept, easily accessible, no strong storage smell, and my favorite feature (other than the staff of course) is the covered entrance, no more dealing with the elements when loading/unloading. There is a decent amount of carts available also.

I looked for several months to find a storage facility that met all my criteria. I found Self Storage Plus and easily booked a Very fairly priced storage unit. I went the same day and was greeted by Q, the manager. They were so helpful and friendly. Answered all of my questions even before I asked them. Q’s thorough tour and explanations were great for a beginner storage renter like me. The facilities are clean, there’s a restroom and nice carts to move your belongings to storage with ease. I would recommend this place to all. 10/10

Being that this is a newer facility, the lighting is state of the art, the floors are clean enough to eat off of and the overall appearance is 100% brighter and more inviting than other storage facilities in the immediate area. However, it is the complimentary cup of coffee, personalized tours and responsiveness that truly set this location apart. Afra Quays and her team have been very easy to work with and assist whenever needed. It would just be helpful to have a receipt forwarded for those accounts on direct bill without having to request one each time :)

We had to find a storage place fast after we moved out of our apartment. This place was very close to our home and a very convenient location. The manager and assistant manager were very professional and very precise as to how everything works there. They are always there to help if anything comes up. It was very clean and I felt safe every time I came to my storage unit. I would recommend 100%!

Excellent customer service both in person, and over email. However they only have tiny carts to move your stuff now. Which means it takes two to three times longer now to move your stuff from vehicle to your storage unit etc. This is why I score only 3 stars. It is especially bad if you are paying aomeone to move your stuff into a unit! They need to have large carts for customers!!! (Otherwise I would have given this storage facility 5 stars!!, that is how important it is to have lots of good sized carts).Employees are super nice and very helpful (they get a 5 star rating!!) Storage units spic and span (clean) and ther is a nice clean bathroom available for customers!!. Great prices when you first rent a space (free first month, and pretty good thereafter). But aware though prices go up after the fevery 6 months by almost 15% and late payment penalties are vrazy high($69 for a $282 space!!). But that seems to be true for all storage places. One concern though... People tend to piggy back into entrance gate with their vehicle behind legit folks who enter their own code at the gate or the doors to get in. They arent supposed to but they do. Would like to request that everyone needs to enter their code in the drive through gate, or the entrance doors in order to be able to get into the building. That ought to help with security and safety concerns!

So I never rented a storage before ever and I needed a space that was inexpensive and something clean short term and where there would be excellent customer service so id decided to try this place and although covid-19 did make it hard to do that but Nicki and the scary person(co worker)both who are actually sweet and very professional got me a nice size storage and a great price even though I wasnt at the facility that long the storage was clean spacious with great customer service awesome experience I even recommended it to my mom and my mom loves it. great job you guys ill recommended it to anyone else if I can. but did I mention great price.

Super friendly staff and the facilities are very clean!

While they may have nice people working here, they are extremely disorganized. When I first arrived there were stinkbugs all over my floor and after being told they would be cleaned that night, the next day I arrived and they were still there. Thats only the beginning. They put the wrong unit number on my statement for months to the point when I came back I couldnt even get in my storage locker because they had overlocked my locker, thinking that I hadnt paid, when really the payments were going towards another locker. They dont have access to any humans to talk to if you have a problem after hours. The staff here clearly do not check or correspond with their customers well (or check in with them during their rental) and I will not be using their services again.

Nikki is incredible, she was extremely helpful and got things completed with no difficulties at all. The facility is immaculate and the price for the space was excellent. Truly a pleasure to work with, 5 stars does not do their service justice.

Some of my items were destroyed by mice and their insurance company refused to replace them. And no, I had nothing edible in my unit. So my close to $600 went out the window.

The service is absolutely superb. Afra, the property manager, is very helpful and thorough. She runs an efficient establishment and is very detailed when giving explanations. My family and I just moved here from another state and she made this part of transition really smooth. I would recommend this storage company to everyone. You won’t regret it!!!!!

She had a line of customers and had to keep running back and forth to serve 4-5 more people BY HERSELF! When my house sold I needed a place to store some belongings while I waited for my new house to be ready. I did an in-depth search as I looked for both climate-controlled storage AND a good price, and I found Self Storage Plus. Im so glad I did. Its convenient to the ICC (Rt. 200), to Route 1, and to I-95. Its a new facility, bright and clean, and they have a variety of sizes of units so you can find exactly what you need. At first I rented a 5 X 7.5 unit; I recently upgraded to a 10 X 10. All of my interactions with the staff have been professional and friendly. If you need storage and are on a budget, I highly recommend Self Storage Plus.

In the beginning awesome experience, great price, great location but there is a rodent issue. All my belongings were in bins except a rack of clothes, no stored food, no dirty dishes and I still saw mouse droppings everywhere. I had to moved out a few days later. Bring lysol bleach wipes, gloves and trash bags. I reported the issue, no response.

Clean and organize location; plenty of parking; THE PRICE, half of what I was paying in Washington DC, 20 minutes drive from the District of Columbia. The General Manager Ms.Afra Qays, very professional and accommodating to our needs. I went for one unit and ended renting two large units for my Catering business.
