Just went in to the Bend location to buy more material, about $3000 worth in the past couple weeks and return a $24 bundle of shake I didnt need, with a receipt. The guy said that it looked smaller then the other bundles and wouldnt return it. I dont need your shake or the $24, but it would be nice not be called a dishonest liar when you are honest and giving you more business. Pathetic. Hope you feel good about that big decision you made today at work, you might even have saved the company. I wonder what business values have been passed down from the generations they talk about at Miller Lumber Co????? Glad there is a a choice in town. See you over at Parr Lumber

Miller Lumber is a true multigenerational family owned business. They’ve been serving Central Oregon for over 100 years. I appreciate their experienced staff and easy access and parking. The support they’ve shown the community over the years is something you would never see from a company that’s not locally owned.

Knowledgeable service and competitive prices. If you are looking for a wide variety of quality building products, I highly recommend this yard.

Ron needs to get a different job outside of customer service. Poor, just poor.

Most of the time you need to find and load your on order, or be prepared to wait a good while for help, not due to anyone standing around but seems more like always understaffed, or time management. Yard guys should be able to stop restocking to help waiting customers.

The person who helped me seemed very disinterested in my project. Tried to give my business to the local folks vs. the big box. May need to re-think that in the future.

Customer service was extremely poor . Employees were very unfriendly. I bought lumber and then had no direction on where to pick it up at.

This is a real lumber yard with all kinds of construction related items inside. If you havent been to a lumber yard you go inside before you go into the yard, check for any rules if its your first time. This is also the only place around Bend that you can find the Occidental leather tool bags and they had a great selection today. Ive both two sets of bags from here. They dont like returns, and thank fully all Ive had was an exchange and even that was difficult. Dont bother price comparisons here they are more expensive, but if you ask a question they will either know the answer or tell you they dont know and I always take their suggestions because they know. My only complaint is when things slowed down awhile back they let the inventory drop so low that I thought they were planning to close. Right now its full. FYI, dont expect the same service when you go to different Miller lumbers, Ive used this one enough to be known and I get treated well, I went to the Madras one and I was ignored, even worse they helped other ppl who arrived after I did. So if you dont know construction this place can be a little intimating.

Im an experienced home remodeler and DIYer. Ive gone into Miller many times as its very close to my home. When I go to a local store, I expect better lumber than Ill find at the big box stores and some friendly knowledgeable service. Miller offers neither, the lumber is better at the big box stores. The last fence boards I bought there were very warped, and they were picked for and handed to me. One board had a hockey stick curve in it. The staff seems unhappy, and more keen at having a laugh at the people who shop there than helping. I much prefer Parr Lumber, or the big box stores.

Not the friendliest salespeople inside.. That being said the yard guys are always awesome and you cant beat their prices on 2x8 Cedar!

Needed to buy nails for a house we were framing by the college, thought Id save time and buy them at Miller... They wanted $53 for a box that costs $31 at the nail supply shops.Similar experience when trying to pick up a saw blade and router bit. Counter person was indignant when I asked why their prices were so much higher. Its ok, I just wont ever shop there again and will recommend to my contractor and superintendent friends they DONT shop Miller.

Moved to Bend 19 years ago. I’ve completed half a dozen construction projects since I’ve been here and I come from a commercial construction background. (Career in contracting and large project dispute resolution). Tried to price materials at Miller Lumber in Bend after I arrived, but encountered officious and insulting staff and used other suppliers. Now, 19 years later, I tried them again. Could have been the same guy, overweight, officious and demeaning. Worse, he knew what I was asking about (a Hardy product) but played dumb, declaring loudly they don’t carry any “economy Hardy products.” Found out he knew exactly what I was asking for, which is carried by other Miller stores in the area. Avoid Miller Lumber in Bend Oregon.
