Recently our Honda Odyssey broke down on the way to Chicago (from Grand Rapids). We were rescued by Zielke Towing who recommended Advanced Import Repair. Our experience was nothing like you’d expect from an out of town repair shop. These guys went out of their way and made sure we felt like locals, even calling us the next day to make sure we made it home safely. Jon and his team repaired our vehicle quickly and for far less than we anticipated. We highly recommend anyone living in or passing through Benton Harbor use AIR for their vehicle repairs!

Car broke down while out of town, as far as we knew it was the clutch. My first call I spoke to Jane, she was professional, knowledgeable and very nice. Got back to me in a timely manner with a price for a clutch, which was very reasonable. Gave me a turn around time and have helped me with every question and concern that I’ve had. I have been using Advanced Import Repair for all of our vehicles for about 4 years. They always give great pricing and service. We now have a 2008 Grand Prix and 2014 Dodge Caravan. The mechanics are knowledgeable and willing to explain their diagnostic process and recommendations to a mechanically challenged person!

Visiting from Virginia with bad tires on my boat trailer. They troubleshot the wear pattern, checked bearings, axle, suspension, etc. and even called in a trailer specialist just to be sure. After all that, they determined the trailer was fine, and the tires were worn due to age and under inflation. They topped up my Bearing Buddies with grease sent me on my way (no charge!) for new tires at Discount Tires down the block. Very pleasant experience all around!

This place is awesome! I was referred here from a business around the corner. I called last week and they got me in quickly. When I called to schedule my appointment, Jane was super friendly, and was just as friendly when I walked through those doors! She greeted me with a smile and made me feel right at home (even offered me part of her lunch...I graciously declined, but thought it was the nicest gesture). Next, I met Jason. He took such good care of my car while doing a thorough check on my brakes and showing me what needed to be fixed, and went out of his way to explain the cost breakdown. He also gave me updates as he was working on it. I really appreciated this. This place is extremely fair and they really put their customers first! I am taking Grad classes right now and they let me hook into their Wi-Fi! I was able to hammer out some of my classwork while I waited for my car to be done. I also enjoyed sitting on their fancy leather couch equipped with drink holders and working headlights! Super Cool! I cant say enough about this great place! Great first experience with AIR. My vehicle was damaged by a local tire company. AIR was able to get me in fast. They complete the repairs and I was out the door. They even handled all the billing directly with the tire shop. Excellent customer support!

Set reasonable expectations and delivered far beyond. My car had mice eat through 3 sets of wiring in the dash. Jon and his team cleaned out the mess the little monsters made and installed all new wiring harnesses in week. I send my family and friends to him, because I know he really cares about people and doing the job right.

I dropped the car off for a noise other shops couldnt fix and a bad belt. Not only was the price reasonable they changed the tensioner for free after changing the belt and realizing it was bad. They also fixed the noise and gave me a laundry list of problems with the care I might want to deal with in the future. Excellent service.

From the first time I took my daughters Lexus in for brakes, struts and an alignment, to my wifes Kia for oil changes and any service I might need, the people at Advanced always explain everything in detail and answer all of my questions concerning any work done or that needs to be done. Highly professional and very knowledgeable as well as being a great value due to fair prices. I even started taking my GMC Acadia in as they dont just work on imports. I definitely will continue to use them for my auto repair needs.

People typically liken having to go to the auto repair shop with having to go to the dentist, but that is not the case here! I cant count the times that John and his staff have been the consummate professionals, clear in what needs to be done to repair my vehicle(s) issues, ALWAYS saves me money compared to other local quotes to fix the same issue, does it in an expedient and timely manner and actually fixes the problem. Refreshing in this day and age. You have customers for life and I wish there was higher than a 5-Star rating!

07 Tacoma had issues with transmission it felt like it came out of gear on a panic stop even though I had a reputable transmission shop do the flush come to find out these Tacomas have finicky transmissions it was about half a quart low. They topped it off and its shifting like its suppose to.

While on a weekend getaway with friends my daughter ran into some car trouble with our 09 Maxima. Everyone in the area was booked solid with the July 4th weekend coming up. I was recommended to have her car towed to Advanced Import Repair by few other shops in the area. (good reputation) AIR was also booked solid but Jane there was able to work us in. One of the techs worked after hours to was to troubleshoot our vehicle. They replaced the faulty part prior to our scheduled return to the area which meant we did not need to make a special trip. Cost was fair and I can thank them enough for getting out of tough spot in a timely fashion. Definitely 5 star service!

My truck engine light came on and I took it to Advance Import & the service I received was wonderful, they worked with my warranty company for me sent in all my paperwork that the warranty company needed for me and because I had to make my sons graduation they got it repair done ahead of schedule. The service is outstanding, pricing is fair... If not cheater and the quality of work is great and I forgot to mention they did a follow up call about 2 days later. No other place is touching my truck again!

My wife and I recently moved to southwest Michigan from California. I had been looking for a reputable auto repair shop that was local. I tried out several and was mildly pleased. But then I developed a bad brake problem on my vehicle which I needed repaired ASAP. I had seen the very positive reviews on Advanced Import Repair and had always wanted to try out that shop. I called them with the brake issue and they had me come in right away to diagnose the problem. While there, they not only diagnosed the problem but took me into the work area to SHOW it to me. I was then given an estimate as to how much it would cost to repair the problem, which I felt was very reasonable. They had me bring it in first thing the next morning and I had my vehicle back in time for when I needed it.I need to say I really enjoyed meeting everybody at that shop. There is a friendly helpful family feeling about it which made me feel valued. They also are extremely qualified, I believe, to service just about any kind of vehicle, domestic or import, for just about anything.I think I found my reputable local auto repair shop!!! 5 stars for them!

I recently had their services they gave me better then what I expected. My vehicle been down for a month, so I was expecting a 3-7 days for diagnostics and repairs. I dropped my keys off to them and told them to call me, expecting a call monday. I got call the same day, it could be fixed that day if I wanted. Absolutely sold me! I was so happy and thankful for them. Now Im back up, Highly Recommend!

Took my vehicle in for Front end alignment and was charged, only for two other shops to say and show me the adjuster bolts had NOT been touched!Stay away at all costs! Scam artists

The worst experience I ever had. Went in for alignment and new tire mount. They fixed those things and said for alignment then needed to do some other things they did thoses other things. Then after that my whole suspension links broke I went there to show them what happened they wanted me to pay to get them fixed after they installed thoses things wrong. They could see that the new parts they put in where bent. I ended up just leaving and going to a dealer but learned my lesson if you get to a place and a customer is complaining about there engine being sabotage and has lost power and another after him complaining about a sensor in his tank installed in properly. You should just turn around go elsewhere.

Had an excellent first experience. I took my car in because I suspected the alternator had failed. They confirmed my suspicion and quoted a very reasonable rate. Upon picking up the car they showed me the old alternator and explained exactly where it had failed. They mentioned a different shop didnt put some brake lines back properly, so they went ahead and corrected it for me free of charge. Customer service was top notch, overall great experience.

The service given by this business is truly refreshing. from the time you walk in the door you are met with a friendly conversation and immediately get the feeling that they know what they are doing. Thats followed up by them asking questions as to your needs for repair and even though I had been to another business that told me I needed one thing, Advance Imports found that what was needed was something different and after doing a diagnostic on my vehicle they discovered that my problem wasnt as serious as I had been led to believe. Had the heater core replaced and found a leak a few months later. Was unable to take it back due to they havent answered the phone, so I took else where and found out they broke upwards of $2500 worth of parts under the dash, I will never be back.

I cant say enough good things about John and his staff! I experienced car trouble while driving through BH on I-94. I called them and described my problems and John invited me right over to take a look. Knowing I was just passing through, he got the car right in and began work. He provided me with my options, and recommended the less expensive fix given my vehicle has nearly 300,000 miles on it. I went to grab lunch while the repairs were taking place, and John called with bad news. The part that had been delivered for the fix had a flaw, and there would be a delay in getting a new one by a few hours. He gave me an option to do the more expensive fix for nearly the same price as the previously agreed upon less expensive one so the car would be done more quickly and I would be back on my way. As a business owner myself, I recognize a place that is run with integrity, care, and pride, for the customer, employees, and their work. Well done John and staff! Under new ownership with a new name Advanced Import Repair- We were stranded on on the freeway with a pretty severe breakdown. Things were looking pretty dire until we saw the faces of the good people here. It turned out to be our good luck that we happened to break down so close to them, even though we were almost 5 hours from home. Jon Vanlandingham is one of the nations best mechanics. Were thrilled with the way our car handles, now, after having it fixed locally, already.

This business is under new ownership and Im not impressed at all, I am 78 years old and stopped in to bring the old owner John some Christmas cookies and was abruptly met by the new owners telling me there is a $50 checkout fee. I just stopped in to see John and drop off some cookies I didnt mentioned I needed anything done,good luck with that customer service.
