Been coming here over 6 years now, so happy to have a great source of meats and I absolutely love the fresh raviolis there along with the sauces in the freezer section.

Highly recommend the turkey gravy, they make it in house and its so good.

New ownership which is not that new anymore doesn’t have the expertise to give advice for cooking, is definitely not as clean. Just last night I arrived 15 minutes before closing and they would not slice meat because they had already cleaned the slicer. I looked around- olives all put away, cooked chickens gone- so when did closing time become time to walk out the door for employees? I guarantee Monterey Market and Monterey Fish are cleaning up after closing.

Been going here since 2010, but noticed a big decline in sanitary handling of meats, freshness, and store cleanliness. Went in about a month ago to buy some chicken breasts & wings. The kid behind the counter did not have gloves on and did not have clean fingernails. I only noticed this when I asked for one last item, sliced ham. He had just finished picking up with his hands and no gloves raw chicken.Now he’s reaching in and handling various hams looking for the one I requested. I then asked if he would wash his hands first. Insultingly, he looked at me puzzled, and said “Why? My hands are clean, see .....”. It was then that I noticed the dirt underneath his fingernails in addition to the fact he had not washed his hands after handling raw poultry.I did get ill from the ham I bought. Ii had only one small slice.The owner contacted me after I posted on yelp asking if I knew who the young punk was? Of course I didn’t. The owner insinuated he runs a clean, sanitary meat market. I am here to tell you he does not.I contacted proper authorities about my experience. They need to be shut down and clean up their act.

Fair prices good service excellent food!

This place is great, it is cheap, fast and the workers are very helpful. The meat is fresh and you can find all types of meat.

Great coffee, cheese selection. Helpful and friendly staffs.

Great cheap candy and poultry.

Great sandwiches at an affordable price it does take a while to make though.

What a shame that this place has lost quality and customer service over the past couple of years. The staff are ever-changing and do not know their products. The handling of the meats is questionable at times ( do they wash their hands often enough?). They simply weigh the meat, package them ( inconsistent practices among them), hand it over. No one seems to be in charge or care. And - worst of all, at times the placesmells a bit funky. Not sure what training in hygiene and infection control the staff receive. I wish the former dedicated Magnani Family could return - they were true Butchers who enjoyed their business!!!

Built on the old-school model, Magnanis Meats has berkeleys best selection of bulk olive oils, bone broths and stocks, a great meat selection, and some old school favorite canned italian goods.Some place are more for people who eat, Magnanis is for people who can COOK.
