All I can say is Dan rocks!I purchased a Tory Burch watch online, but it came with a very short strap. The store told me that it was the only size they had and I didnt want to return it. They advised me to get a new strap done by a cobbler.I was worried about the right color, the right length and width for the strapFound Fortunas on Google, texted the picture to make sure it could be done and dropped the watch at the store.Dan took the time to explain the process, showed me a sample of the leather he was planning on using.The new strap was done perfectly and matches the watch.Im a very satisfied customer!

The workmanship, skill, quality, service, everything is top notch at Fortunas! They make the old look like new! I have been coming here for a few years now and *each* time I get equally excited when I see just how wonderfully they repair the shoes.

What I like the most about the repair guys at Fortunas besides the fact that they could do the job pretty well was that they know good customer service. They told my shoes should be ready for pickup the next day, and they were indeed.

Dont waste you time and money. Terrible! The people at the counter are rude, they do sloppy work and are unapologetic about it.I recently went in to have new heels put on a pair of wing tips. Within a few days the heels fell off! I was out of town so I managed to fix them myself. When I returned I went to them and showed them photos. I then said I would like to get half soles put on as well. When they were ringing me up I stopped them and said, So are you gonna give me a discount or something because of the heels? at which the man at the counter sort of scoffed and said he would subtract the price of the heels from the total. Very rude not to mention I had to ASK for the discount after their screw up! I came back a week later to pick up my shoes everything looked in order. They were messy when I brought them in and since they dont clean or polish shoes when you have work done (I understand it is policy but it seems like a cheap, lazy policy) I began to clean them. There was also some kind of residue on them from the resoling process. After I had wiped them off I noticed small raised globs of something on the on the uppers. I scratched at it only to realize it was GLUE! In the process of resoling my shoes THEY GOT GLUE ON MY UPPERS! There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for getting glue on the shoe.I called to complain and they the man on the phone gave me a completely disingenuous apology and said I could bring them back. I said sure I *could* but I have to drive all the way back there (a 30 minute drive with no traffic. Its rush hour.) I began to get a little irritated and the man was very snippy with me. I finally said forget it Im not bringing them back and before I could finish my sentence he blurted have a nice day and hung up on me!Fortunas used to be great. I had polite service, and excellent leather and shoe repair done there including some very unusual repairs to the uppers of some vintage shoes and boots. Now they cant even do a half sole without getting glue on my shoes. Never again.

Second generation Customer. Any leather item we have, from shoes to bags to belts to cases, they are the only people I trust with leather. I have bone spurs in my feet and they modify my shoes to fit. They are craftsmen to be treated with respect.

I have an upcoming trip and to my dismay, my carry on suitcase handle was broken. It was missing a screw. I googled and called around and Fortunas was the closest luggage repair shop. The gentlemen were so nice and polite and attended to me promptly. When I asked if they could do it right away, even though it was an inconvenience for them, they graciously did at no extra charge. And it didnt break the bank either. My suitcase is good as new. Thanks guys!

This is a family-owned shop that has withstood the test of time. As a child, I remember this shop and the work they did on my parents luggage and shoes in the 1970s. Very high-end shop that is somewhat pricey, but well worth it.

This store has provided excellent service to this community for multigenerational years. They do it all. I had a rip in my leather coat from Florence and I was told that there was no way to repair it; Fontanas repaired it so professionally that I cannot even find the seam. I had beautiful boots and I was afraid to have them resoled for fear that it would be obvious. Fontanas fixed it so it looked like the original. I hope that this and the clock repair store are not casualties of the aggressive development. These stores give Bethesda its community character .

Overprice... Two belts in for altering the length, end up way too short. It supposed to take 2 inches off. Feel like 4 inches off. Not happy at all !
