Everything about my experience was 5 star worthy. Loved the online reservation that allowed me to pick all the dresses online ahead of time. A lot of additional options to choose from in the store too My stylist, Liz, was a dream. She never tried to upsell me. She was present, patient and asked questions about the venue and my groom to help give good feedback on dress styles. She had a list of place ready to go to refer me for my fitting. She even helped select my crown. Liz made my day I even teared up in the store. Thank you Liz and BHLDN Bethesda for helping me pick the most important dress of my life

I had such a great experience at BHLDN in Bethesda! Even though i was trying on wedding dresses during a time with covid restrictions, the experience was so fun and enjoyable! Melissa B is the greatest and I highly recommend her as a stylist! She was so kind and supportive and really knew what she was doing! Everyone loved her! Found my dream dress and I can’t recommend the group at BHLDN Bethesda enough!

My sister (MOH) and I came in for a bridesmaid dress appointment. Our stylist, Larissa, was incredibly helpful and made the experience so enjoyable! Although my sister arrived a little later, as the bride, I worked with Larissa to pick a mix-and-match array of options that looked beautiful and effortless! This process could have easily been daunting, but she asked questions about my vision and was able to help pair different dress styles and materials. My sister tried each option on, and ultimately selected one for herself. She was then able to share feedback with other members of the bridal party for them to make a choice. Highly recommend this location for a lovely and personalized experience!

I had a great experience at BHLDN Bethesda! Not only was the place and dresses gorgeous, my stylist, Kaeli, was amazing!! She was very knowledgeable, very helpful and gave great tips and tricks about the dresses I liked. She definitely made my experience even better! Can’t wait to walk down the isle in a BHLDN dress.

My experience with BHLDN, with Liz as my stylist was everything I could have hoped it would be. I was visiting the area from Florida and knew that I wanted to try and find a dress at BHLDN. All of the styles that I wanted to look at had been pulled for me and it was the most stress-free and fun experience! I ordered my wedding dress and veil with overnight shipping and they arrived the next day in perfect condition. 10/10 would recommend this BHLDN!

BEWARE OF ORDERING ITEMS TO SHIP---This is a problem with BHLDN in general, not this specific store. The store is great and they have a good selection of formal dresses. Unfortunately I went in a pinch to get a dress last minute, and while they were able to order the dress for me and have it shipped to my house, I just recieved the package right on time only to find out they had shipped me the wrong dress. The order was correct (I double checked), so again this is not a complaint about this specific store. But if you are searching for something last minute I would look elsewhere as this company clearly has some issues with order fulfillment! Now I have an event in two days and have to scramble to find a dress elsewhere :( extremely frustrating.

I went to BHLDN looking for a bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding and the sales person was super helpful, listened to what I had to say, and we found a great dress that I loved. The next day, I purchased the dress, received my confirmation email, and checked purchasing a dress off my list.Then, a full month after I placed the order, I get a vague and dispassionate email saying that theyre sorry, the dress I ordered is no longer in stock and my order has been cancelled. Thats the complete explanation. So I call them and they are genuinely very sorry, but theres nothing they can do to get me the dress I ordered. The explanation is that they must have miscounted the number of dresses they had in stock and so me and other ladies who purchased this dress are out of luck. They can send me a different color at a discount, but whos to say that the same thing wont happen again.Be aware that BHLDN might end up causing serious issues for your wedding. What if I had bought a wedding dress? What if all of the bridesmaids were wearing the same dress in the same color and just one of us had our orders canceled? What if the wedding was in a month and I was suddenly out of a dress? Planning a wedding is hard enough without having additional headaches thrown in from this store. I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere.

I’m not one to typically leave a review but I had the best experience at BHLDN that I had to share. The booking experience was so smooth. Jennifer and I spoke on the phone multiple times prior to my appointment and made sure they had all the dresses in store and ready for me to try on. She answered all my questions and accommodated all my needs. I had a dress shipped there and waiting for my since they didn’t stock that dress. Free overnight shipping is always a plus! I then arrived to the store and had Melissa as my stylist and it was the most positive experience. She was helpful, kind, and super fun to be around. The COVID-19 precautions also made me feel safe. My experience at BHLDN was beyond positive. I literally have nothing bad to say and am just so grateful. Plus I found my dress!

I went bridal gown shopping with a friend and we had a wonderful experience! Our attendant listened to what she wanted, made good suggestions, added GORGEOUS accessories, and there was NO pressure to buy anything today. 10/10 would recommend and appointment here!

My dress shipped extremely fast! Was very happy to find a beautiful gown and a great plus size selection. I ordered my dress Monday and had it in hand Saturday!

Megin was AMAZING!!! The dresses here were all beautiful and the lighting everywhere made them all look even better. What a beautiful shop! And I was so impressed by the prices - most were less than $2000. But this experience was made complete by Megin. She felt like family! She quickly picked up on my style and interests and helped me select the perfect dresses to try on. LOVEEEEEE ❤️

I cant say enough good things about my experience at Beholden! I am not much of a shopper and was worried I wouldnt be able to find the dress I was looking for within my budget. Needless to say, I wasnt super excited about the prospect of dress shopping. My day began with 2 long hours at Davids, so we walked into this appointment tired and beaten down.Things completely changed once we walked into BHLDN. The representative that was assisting me, Sarah, was fantastic. She was so incredibly personable and made me feel comfortable/not pressured into anything. I could tell right away that she was not just trying to make a sale (which I definitely felt some of that pressure at Davids) and that she genuinely wanted to help me find the dress. Long story long, I did find my dress there and it was within my budget (prices are typically in the $900-$1500 range)! I am not the type of person to be excited about clothing, but I am so excited about my dress!Sarah also gave me great advice when looking for a tailor, since she had worked beside one for many years. She even reminded me to take a video of the tailor showing me how to bustle the dress so I wont forget at my wedding.I cant thank Sarah enough for making dress shopping such a positive experience!!

Terrible experience w/ shipping. I found a bridal gown and shoes I liked for my bridal shower in the store but couldnt find my size in the store. The store agent said they can order it and overnight it to me but I called the store multiple times and no one would pick up, ultimately I ordered it online. They sent the dress via Lasership which allegedly dropped off the dress in front of the building instead of our designated lockers and the dress was lost. The shoes arrived three weeks later and were dropped off in the designated locker. BHLDN did not take responsibility for my lost dress and suggested I file a claim w/ my renters insurance (in which my deductible is more than the dress cost.) I am grateful that the dress was less than 300 USD so it was not a huge hit for me, but I am absolutely aghast at their customer service attitude and their inability to resolve this. I needed a dress urgently but their inability to resolve this led me to go somewhere else. Needless to say I will not be returning to the store or buying anything from BHLDN/Anthropology/Urban outfitters again.

Planning a wedding can obviously be very stressful especially now with covid. I had been almost dreading going out and trying on dresses because I did not know what to expect.I can honestly say BHLDN went above and beyond to make my appointment feel very safe and fun! I ended up having the perfect day and finding my dress!The manager Jennifer was amazing while booking my appointment and Melissa D did a fantastic job in helping me pick a verity of dresses to try on and walk away with the perfect one.I would HIGHLY recommend not only for the gorgeous dresses but because of the amazing staff as well!

Shoutout to Liz! I had two appointments with her and she was very sweet and helpful. She asked questions to get to know me and help me figure out what I wanted. Also love that she was very mindful about my budget and wasnt pushy at all. After narrowing down dress options, she provided a list of the dresses I liked and a list of tailors I could go to. The dresses themselves ranged from romantic to bohemian to sleek, so theres plenty of styles. I was looking for dresses under $1500, but I saw a lot of amazing options under $1000. Had a lovely time wedding dress shopping here!

No frills experience. Warmly welcomed by multiple women waiting to assist. Quickly taken back and introduced to my stylist, Liz. Asked if we would like beverages (champagne, water) which was pleasantly unexpected. Brought over to a shared area with my 2 dress shopping helpers. They had 5 of the 8 dresses I had asked to look at which was actually just fine. I tried on one that I had been pining over online and it was just as beautiful as I had expected. I will warn that they have minimal sizing - I think either 2-4 and then 12-14s. I am in between and it definitely took some pinning/clipping by the stylist to make it fit my body but she was so relaxed it made it a great experience.Only complaint would be the area to come out and show your friends/family your dresses. When there are multiple parties there trying on dresses simultaneously it can get very loud. I do wish it had been a little more intimate of a scene but overall would recommend the dresses to my friends in the future! I will be making the purchase of my wedding dress from you all soon!

Visited in March to try on gowns. When you schedule online they ask how many people will be with you and offer a drop down menu of up to 3. I ended up coming to my appointment with 5 people and they didnt even bat an eye, just pulled up an extra chair. They had pulled all but one of the gowns I had requested, which was helpful. My stylist, Maura, was very sweet and funny. We had a great banter in the changing room together and she had a wonderful energy about her. When I decided on a dress she was excited along with my entourage and brought out champagne for everyone. Overall a lovely experience.

Can say enough good things about my experience here. Such a beautiful selection of dresses you wont see elsewhere and the experience was far better than any other bridal shops Ive been to. We had gotten a little lost looking for the place and were 10 minutes late but they greeted us with rosé and made sure we still had the full appointment time. Sarah was my stylist for the day and she was so sweet and helpful. She made sure I was able to try on each dress I was interested in and did a great job of clipping everything so it fit my body well. She gave me her honest opinion of the dresses I tried on which was so helpful. I never felt like she was trying to push me to buy something, rather to find a dress I loved and felt great in. She made sure I left the store with all of the sizing and contact info I would need to order. She made sure it was a truly great experience.

I had a wonderful experience at BHLDN. It was exactly what I was looking for when I approached bridal shopping. I had originally bought a dress somewhere else, online, but it didnt make me feel like a bride. I wanted to experience the trying on element, but didnt want the hoopla or the consultant trying to sell me something I wasnt too fond of. I worked with Erica, and she was great. Super easy to work with and didnt make me feel weird for being alone. I fell in love with a dress and ordered it as soon as I got home. The process was incredibly easy and just what I wanted. It may not be for some brides, but it was definitely for me. I recommend BHLDN 100%.

I went twice to shop for my wedding dress, and both consultants were extremely kind and helpful. Free champagne was a nice bonus :) all of the gowns are unbelievably beautiful

This was to be an amazing experience, I was so excited to be shopping for my wedding dress and loved BLHDN dresses. When I got there the woman in the photo never introduced herself and only had one dress hanging up that I choose online. I told her about other ones but she said she had no idea if they had them. I tried to make conversation and have fun.. she was just a body... no help, no expression! Thankful I brought two friends who shopped for me.This is how bad it was, I only really like one dress and ask her if I could try it on again.... she had no idea which one and was totally disengaged. She told me I had 15 minutes left so I understood and got dressed only to have her walked to someone else never say good bye or please call me if I can be of further assistance. We were not even offered water!!! Now I am searching for the dress I loved there but did not want to buy from her! Aghhhhh ... make sure this is not who waits on you!!!

I am leaving a review for my experience in late June 2019. I made an appointment at BHLDN in Bethesda/Rockville and brought my mom and two close friends. The store is beautiful. However, our experience was very unpleasant and made me stressed and unhappy. Our consultant did not introduce herself, barely spoke to us, and walked away and was on the phone or at her computer while I was trying on dresses, only coming back to put me into the next one. She didn’t ask any questions about what I liked or thought about things. She probably said less than 10 sentences to us then entire time. Also, I am a size bigger than the samples. Just because the samples CAN zip up, doesn’t mean they should. It was hard to feel beautiful and to get an idea of what things should look like when she didn’t clip me into them to make it look more flattering. It was almost comical- I could hardly breathe in one or two. With two of the tighter dresses, she told me we “shouldn’t bother trying them on,” so we didn’t. The whole thing was just so dejecting and unpleasant that I felt really disappointed with dress shopping and thoughts this is just what it’s going to be like. I had made a last-minute second appointment for that afternoon at Georgetown BHLDN since they had a dress that Bethesda did not have, and it wasn’t until I had such a fabulous experience there (I will leave a separate review) that I realized that my first one was not the norm, and was actually really wrong. I went back and forth about leaving this review, and I know that everyone has bad days, but I really feel that BHLDN needs this feedback. I am leaving two stars because the dresses are gorgeous and the setting is so nice, and because a benefit of having a consultant who rushed us is that I got to try more dresses than you normally would in an hour.

I was so excited to go here and honestly was underwhelmed. The dresses arent what I had hoped for, but worst of all the stylist took away from the experience. She would spend thirty seconds introducing the gown and selling us on it before letting me express my feelings. She was also clearly unhappy about the number of people I brought, but its my day and my experience. They made it special, she took away from that. I will say they have great prices on their gowns for the amount of detail that is available.

The day before flying out to my destination wedding, I decided to stop last minute at BHLDN to see if I could find a new dress because I had fallen out of love with the one I had custom made. The manager, Jennifer, made it possible to find a dress OFF THE RACK that I completely loved!!! She was so helpful, kind, and understanding with my situation and state of emergency. This was the second time I had visited BHLDN, I should have gone with it as my first choice. This negative review is on customer service and how BHLD manages negative feedback: I ordered a beautiful dress from the Bethesda store by phone. Fearing an impulse buy (I already had a wedding dress) I changed my mind and returned the UNOPENED box with the dress to the store. Three weeks later I found the box at my door step with a note saying the return was refused due to dirt on the bottom of the dress....so either I was originally sent a dirty dress, or the store staff exchanged my newly purchased dress for a soiled one (the dress looked pristine to me, but what do I know). Either way, I really loved the dress and decided to wear it on my wedding day!My recommendation is don’t buy online (and definitely don’t return an online purchase) and don’t post a negative review on the BHLD website, they will take down yours (as they did mine) and all other reviews (including positive) for that particular dress which is why I’m writing this review.

I only give this store a two star review because I did find my wedding dress here and it was the dress of my dreams. However, I will say the store experience and stylist I worked with are the reason I felt I needed to review my experience at the Bethesda store.I myself work as a bridal stylist and so I am very familiar with the process of picking a wedding dress. I know there are time limits and schedules for incoming brides after my own appointment. At the same time, I know as I have been working at this same job for two years now, that there are ways to make a bride comfortable and enjoy herself during the limited appointment time.Immediately as I walked in I felt rushed. The stylist appeared frustrated because I hadn’t picked out all the dresses I wanted to try on prior to the appointment. I had selected one off of the website but wanted to have a chance to briefly browse in person (since I know dresses can appear differently online-again I work in a bridal). As I browsed she kept reminding me I only had an hour long appointment and I felt so rushed that I stopped browsing and didn’t feel I got to really look at all of the dresses.When I started trying on the stylist was really not attentive. I am a younger bride and I feel like perhaps she wasn’t taking me seriously because of that even though I was very intent on buying a dress. I’ve always known since I first learned Anthropologie had wedding dresses that I wanted a BHLDN dress.She did not style me with veils, as I always do with my own brides, and it made me feel like I just wasn’t getting the try on experience I’d dreamed about having. I had to ask her to see a veil and when she pulled one, it seemed to be the first one she saw, as it didn’t go with the dress at all.I’ll stop here, but could go on about my disappointment. This was a one time experience that now I feel is tainted and I won’t have back. I was able to find my dress after a second appointment and looking back through pictures, but not because I was helped in any way. Even when I found my dress there was no excitement, no sign. We ordered online, got the free shipping and got out of there. If you go to this store don’t expect a good experience. They have beautiful dresses and that is about it.

So disappointed. My daughter bought a gorgeous dress that after 60 days she tried it on and decided a smaller size would be better. They refused to accept the dress back, even though its only been tried on twice and she now has to pay a ton of $$$ to have alterations and the dress will not look as great as she anticipated for her special day. We offered to bring the dress down for inspection, pay for postage. they were totally unmoving. Extremely upset and disappointed and will not be recommending them to anybody. If she had bought it last week - not a problem so I just dont understand their issue. Its not gone out of style or been put on sale so again, I dont see the issue.....Status update....Jennifer at the store was super helpful, called us back and told us although it was very much not their policy, she was sympathetic to the circumstances and we could return the dress and she waived the shipping fee and gown handle fee and overnighted a different size to my daughter. Thanks for your patience and understanding:)

Wonderful boutique with excellent staff!

All of the girls were absolutely amazing and deserve an honorable mention for going above and beyond. I had a wedding crisis with a dress that I was having a bad reaction to that I had already purchased at a local boutique. (Figuring this out 1 month before my wedding date!)Right from the start, when I initially called the Bethesda store, Christina was more than helpful and friendly while scheduling my appointment. She assured me that eveything would be ok and that it would be no problem to get another dress in time!Gaby was my stylist at the appointment and listened and empathized with my wedding crisis. She pre picked out dresses she thought I may be interested in upon receiving details of what styles I was looking for mentioned over the phone. She also walked around the store showing me several other options.Everyone was very supportive and understanding, and made me feel normal!!Elizabeth was also amazing when I called to order my final selection a day or two later!Thanks for A+ customer service, relatable and supportive employees, and esp for the overnight shipping! I got my dress earlier than expected, and am going for alterations tomorrow! I wish I had just come to BHLDN first, since I had a terrible experience for several reasons at a local boutique.Thanks again! I would give 10 stars if I could!
