I just wanted to give a shout-out on an awesome time I had in the store. I came into the store to buy some seasoning. There was a lovely lady who greeted me and gave me recommendations on which were the best to use for the chicken dinner I was planning to surprise my girlfriend with. She also took the time to answer questions about kitchen knife maintenance I had. Thank you Jennifer for your help.
This was an excellent experience! We went to get a new set of all-clad cookware and had the pleasure of working with Jill to find exactly what we needed. Her honesty and recommendations were greatly appreciated and spot on! If you need to buy anything from W-S, go to this location and ask for Jill :)
Wow! A+ service. Back story: I’m not a “gadget girl” but one of my BFFs sang the praises of Williams~Sonoma’s Beville pizza maker. This afternoon I popped into WS a snapped up the pizza maker and a couple jars of sauce, then stopped by Harris Teeter for some pizza toppings. Dinner was going to be delicious! When I got home I immediately opened the pizza maker box only to discover complete horror! The pizza maker had been used...and by used I mean food crusted in the corners, a burnt pizza stone and an interior top that was black as soot. Yikes! Of course I immediately called WS and told them the situation. The store clerks were profusely apologetic, so much so one of them left the store to bring me another pizza maker! That’s first rate service! Not only did the clerk show up with another apology and the pizza maker, she gave me a book of delicious pizza recipes. They made a bad situation better without the blink of an eye. A class act and superior customer service!
The Williams-Sonoma experience was positive at this location.
Very rude staff. I approached the counter for some help, and all three associates were talking among themselves. I was unacknowledged. Unsure if they saw me, I moved closer to them. All three made eye contact with me and then went back to what they were doing. I waved at them, and again all three looked at me and then went back to what they were doing. I understand being busy at work, but why not say hello? Very unprofessional. I was helped eventually, but I will certainly not be returning to this store.
This is a good location for Williams-Sonoma - right in the heart of Bethesda shopping district. Ample county parking available nearby. The street gets busy and the store is busy too. Tight spaces around the store - but that is expected at a location like this. The staff is friendly and helpful when needed. They do provide good recommendations and opinions on products - very educative! They have the regular products and also quite a few of the Williams-Sonoma only products (much before other stores).Overall good location for Williams-Sonoma :)
Ive been to this store 2x and both times, Ive received poor and/or rude service. The first time there, I was followed around while white customers were left alone to browse. I was so upset that I left without purchasing any of the things Id come there for. The second time I visited was to pick up an online order. Even though I had received an alert to pick up my item, the staff chastised me for arriving too early and told me theyre making an exception in giving me my item that I had paid for. If your system tells customers their items are ready for pickup, you do not get to be rude to the customers because they arrived early. I am not to blame for a system glitch. Needless to say, I will not be visiting this store again.
Waited on hold for 12 minutes before disconnecting the call. Don’t bother calling ahead for an inventory check or wasting the drive to here.
Nice store. Always fun things inside. I feel like theyre understaffed. If its not crowded, its great. Get a few people in the store, and its hard to get help. Theyre very nice. There just arent enough.
Worst customer service in a retail scenario EVER! Bought chairs and a table. Was told chairs were returnable, called 2 days after delivery, now I am 8 weeks later with no cooperation for delivery. Table was deveivered broken, now 8 + weeks later, no table, no date for new delivery, nobody returning my calls, etc... DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FORM THESE PEOPLE!!! They do not know what they are doing, Management should be ashamed that there is no accountability within their organization to simply take care of something like this which is very straightforward. This is why brick and mortar retilers are becoming a thing of the past, their service3 sucks!!!
The customer service experience was so bad in this store on more than one occasion, I decided to simply not shop there for household items. I stocked my kitchen with things from other stores (was new to the area). Then recently I went in to make a large purchase and I was pleasantly surprised by a very nice and helpful person. When I returned the next day to purchase one more small item, it was back to being ignored again; it seems as though the customers at this store irritate the people who work there! Ive rarely experienced a store wide issue like this!
As many others have said: William Sonoma items with some rude salespeople. A person I just spoke with over the phone had no idea of the product I was describing (an item on their website that said in-store only). She put me on hold and took a glance around, then told me they didnt carry it. When I asked if she could check their computer system to see if it was in stock, she said snootily: It would be on the shelves if we had it. I did ONCE chance upon a nice/helpful salesperson, but I dont think even she could stand it.
The staff was super obnoxious and rude.
Selection: The selection is wonderful and well assorted/merchandised to fit the physical space of the location. You will undoubtedly find what you came here for in the first place.Service: This location used to be chronically understaffed in Friendship Heights and it was 1000 times better than it is now. I would rather have to wait for a friendly sales clerk to assist me than to have my choice of sales associates, all of whom run the gamut from rude to despondent. If actively engaging customers isnt for you, than stay out of specialty retail and go work elsewhere.
Picking Williams Sonoma was easy-I love their stuff! I am very sorry to say we have had such a horrible experience. They are very unorganized (not this store, but the company in general) and I would caution anyone registering here. We have many many issues. The biggest ones around returning items. After our showers, we ended up with multiple of the same item (its gonna happen!) and brought them to the store to return for store credit. The first time we did it they refunded the person who gifted it to us!! How embarrassing! And then they refused to give us any credit!! So basically, embarrassed us to our guest and we didnt get our wedding gift. We contacted HQ and submitted a complaint and they said there was nothing they could do. We definitely would have liked AT LEAST credit for the expensive item we returned, or an apology! We got neither. Other issues involved my fiance (who is listed on our registry as co-registrant) unable to return or make any transactions. They inconsistently deny him and last time he tried to return an item for store credit, they told him they couldnt give him the gift card, but would mail it to me (to the address listed on his drivers license as well) It made no sense, but the worst part was the gift card never arrived. It has been over two months, weve called and they said theres nothing they can do and that it got lost in the mail. So overall, after sending all 200+ guests to their store, youd think theyd treat us a little better. Instead weve actually lost quite a bit of present value. Were seriously considering switching our registry before the wedding. If it wasnt so much work, we would have done it already.
Could NOT be worse customer service. Ive been in several times where management and check out is arguing with each other and rolling their eyes in front of customers. VERY unhelpful in person and on the phone. Told it was too busy in store to answer my question o the phone and was hung up on. Awful, awful customer service, Id avoid this store at all cost.
I like come in to look at all the pretty things and equipment. Its very expensive with quality kitchen wares. Very helpful staff.
Very good selection of quality cooking and entertaining merchandise. Top notch staff who are very customer service oriented and knowledgeable about the merchandise they are selling.
I really like Williams Sonoma as a company so this is a review on this location alone. Compared to other Williams Sonoma locations I have been to, the customer service, selection/stock and atomosphere of this store is not great. If you have time, I would highly recommend visiting a different location.
Update your google hours, I drove an hour because it’s says open but they actually closed
The people were very helpful. But the store was quite small. They may not carry everything you need.
Worst customer service experience. The cashier was very rude. I needed to return a gift. She decided my transaction would take too long and asked me to step aside to help the person behind me. I am or was a loyal customer to William Sonoma. I will NEVER go back to this location. Make the drive to another William Sonoma location. Its just not worth the awful experience.
Very good supplies and food ingredients with good service, but very expensive.
Super helpful staff.
Nice staff. :) On the first Saturdays of the month, you can bring your knives to be sharpened for a dollar an inch. Call ahead. :)
Awful experience trying to return a defective item. The manager was rude and unaccommodating. Have had wonderful experience shopping at Sur La Table and Bloomingdales. Will not return or shop from W.S. any longer.
This store opens at noon on Sundays, NOT 8am. Can’t believe google is providing false information 🙈
This is a great location! I always get wonderful customer service.
One star is being generous for the customer service in this store. From the moment you walk in, its as if theyre angry that you even showed up.I was passing by the store on a Friday, and saw an advertisement for a Valentines day baking kids class for the next day (Saturday). I went in, inquired, paid the $30 per kid x 2 for the class, and was told the class was the following morning at 11 am. I confirmed the time multiple times with two different sales associates. Fast forward to the next morning, I show up at 10:45 (15 minutes early) with my beaming 8 and 7 year old beaming daughters, to find out the class actually started 10 am. Quickly deduced that the sales associates from the day prior had incorrectly signed my 7 and 8 year old daughters for the Sunday adult class which started at 11 am.Mistakes happen- I get it. My kids will get over this. At this point, the response I am expecting from Williams Sonoma is something along these lines : Im so sorry maam, I do apologize. Let me refund your $ 60 dollars right away.Oh no, not the case. I was informed by Travis, their General Manager, that I would have to show up for the adult class on Sunday. Um, my kids are 8 and 7, why would they want to join an adult class- not to mention we werent free. When I said no thanks, please just refund my money, I was then informed he would have to check if he could refund my $ 60 dollars. Really? For your mistake? Travis then proceeded to ignore me and continue taking care of other customers, while I waited, with my now two much less beaming and increasingly disappointed kids watching the other kids finish the class walk off with their beautiful cookies and desserts. After being ignored for 10 minutes, I asked Stacey (literally standing next to Travis the entire time) if she could help me. Travis while taking care of other customers kept interrupting my retell of the story to Stacey with helpful interjections like The sales associate who signed you up yesterday is very experienced, Im not sure we can give her money back and This weekend is so confusing because we have adult and kids classes. Eventually, after pleading my case, Travis reluctantly agreed to refund my money. Wow- thanks Williams Sonoma. Your generosity is astounding. Not even once, did Travis apologize for the mistake on their sales associate part. Again- I understand sales associates make mistakes. But dont blame the customer for YOUR mistake. Stacey for her part- tried to be helpful. She offered some free cookies to the kids. No thanks- at that point I was beyond cookies.Sales associates like Travis are what drives customers to shop online at Amazon. Lets see: I pay less, get things shipped to my door, if I dont like it, I put it on my front porch. All that, and no dealing with incredibly rude and condescending sales persons who act like showing up to their store is a hassle and aggravation for them.
Update: After filing a dispute with my credit card company, the store refunded my purchase. Unfortunate that I had to escalate this (especially since I all I wanted was to exchange the used product for a new one, understanding that this was probably an honest mistake), but Im satisfied now that the issue has been resolved. Word to the wise to those who use cash or debit cards, you might not have been so lucky.Original: I write this negative review reluctantly, but I feel compelled to express what I perceived as brazen and blatant disregard for my long-standing patronage of the Williams Sonoma brand by one of the managers of this store. In early January 2014, I purchased a product at the store but when I opened the box at home later that evening not only was the product the old model but it was also used! One of the store managers, Roman, was perhaps one of the least empathetic managers I have met; he was brusque, effectively called me a liar, and refused to exchange my product for what I paid for. Even after I called the main Williams Sonoma number and explained my case (btw they agreed that the store should exchange my product, like folks who understand good customer service), he refused to exchange the defective and used product they had sold me for what I had paid for.I have come to enjoy the Williams Sonoma brand, but I recommend avoiding this store and shopping at a different store that actually cares about customer service, especially if you ever believe you may have to return/exchange something.
Great location with a knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Safaron and a few unusual things.
It is across the street from where Google plus it. It is between shophouse kitchen and cava
