Poor customer service dealing with the Menards card that would not read properly. Was told contact Capitol one, essentially not their problem.Cashier was friendly, customer rep however acted as if she had much more important things to do and very dismissive when asked if we could look into the issue for resolve.I have spent thousands at Menards for my projects with great results at other locations. Big Rapids store should reevaluate their standard if this passes for acceptable.
Im a big-time Menards fan! And this was easily one of the cleanest, most well-organized and well-stocked Menards Ive been to yet. A little off the beaten path but definitely a good place to get items that are out of stock at the more heavily traffic locations.Not sure when Ill be back but will be happy to come visit!

I come here for all my home/barn improvements. Im 5 miles closer to Alpine store but this place is way less stressful. Plenty of parking and never more than 1 deep in line.
Menards is a great place to shop. They have plenty of employees available to help. They have a large selection of items.

Youll find some good prices on things and the frequently have their 11% rebate on everything. The rebate is for merchandise credit only and con only be spent in-store. One big issue that I had was when I was shopping for a tamper, they were out of stock. I went to customer service and asked for a lookup of sku to verify and I was informed that it was OOS in all of Michigan. They did have a larger tamper available, and quite a few on hand. I asked them to cut me a deal to make the sale, but they refused! They didnt even ask how much of a discount I was thinking or even attempt to make an offer to keep me in the store ( didnt offer any type of ordering /shipping solution either) What business in this day and age refuses a sale?!?! What 10-15% in the scheme of things to gain a repeat customer? ESPECIALLY seeing as how the entire Michigan line of stores were sold out of the one I wanted. Ive worked retail all of my life if one form or another, and you just dont turn away business if you have an option to provide!!! So if they are sold out of something they normally carry, dont expect any satisfaction, just go somewhere else!It really is sad when these stores hire the younger generations with absolutely no business mindset, passion or even work ethic. If it was my generation or older, youd be reading about an incredible experience and recommendation to shop there!
Went there today. Part of our car port thingy was missing a bar. They replaced it no problem. Amazing customer service! Great store!

I went with my husband to pick up building material with our children, I pulled my mask down because I was extremely hot. I passed numerous employees. Managers even spoke to me with my mask pulled down, not one mention of my mask. Jodi came up to me and instead of asking if I needed help finding anything or help in general, she went extreme disgruntle mode and had the entire store in an uproar because my mask was down. She had a crowd of customers watch her actions and I even had to tell her to calm down at one point, she was red faced. She told me she was going to have the police called and me taken out in handcuffs-right in front of my kids 7 and under. This all happened in a minutes time, it progressed very rapidly with her. My husband wasn’t near, and I’m positive she would not have acted like this had he been standing there. Her General manager Steve is aware of her behavior and I have had multiple apologies from employees, other managers and the customers watching her actions. Nothing manager-like came from her (she is a manager herself, sadly) I understand they have a mask policy but they are forgetting what customer service is and have started dividing people even more. There is a right and wrong way of doing things and Jodi enjoys power instead of being a kind person. As for the rest of the employees helping us, thank you, job well done!

Yesterday my husband, 1 year old and 4 year old were in menards and as we were checking out we were rudely told the kids had to have a mask on to check out or be seated in the cart. Firstly it is unsafe to strap a mask on a one year old if breathing became a problem they cannot remove it for themselves. Also why is the cashier being so combative towards us? You could politely explain how this is your policy and sorry for the inconvenience it may be causing us. My husband and I always wear a mask and social distance. We are taking this seriously but we feel your mask policy is a bit strict on children when parents know what’s best for them, not you.

Came in to buy coffee pods (Menards has the best prices on pods, IF you are not a loyal brand shopper) and left with a box of coffee pods, 2/18 gallon totes, and 8 Christmas gifts/stocking stuffers! Got some GREAT bargains, which is NOT unusual! I recommend shopping here, but be aware, you have to wear a mask.
Went in there and I am exempt from the mask rule due to a medical condition when I was asked to leave I tried to educate them on the rules under HIPAA and ADA and that they could not deny me access to the store and was met with we will call the police. I understand that these are trying times but to deny someone with a disability is just wrong. From this point on I will gladly do business elsewhere and pay a little more for my supplies.
I had an issue with rude and confrontational employees previously at this location (long before COVID was a thing), but I assumed it was just people having a bad day. We all encounter people like this from time-to-time, and should give them the benefit of the doubt. Ive never experienced them at one store in multiple encounters. (Looking at other reviews, it seems Im not the first, and likely not the last person to experience this here.)Today I was met with outright hostility toward not wearing a mask, when Im both medically exempted AND immune.The employee was shouting at me in the store that I had to leave. I did point out two other customers and two employees who were improperly masked on the way out. She insisted, you worry about you. (I was kind of thinking the same thing about her, honestly.)By the way, on several occasions the employee came closer to me than 6 feet, as she stepped in front of me to physically block my path, despite my trying to keep my distance.Ill happily patronize other businesses that have learned to balance policy and courtesy (like Home Depot, Lowes, Meijer, Kroger, and Walmart, to name a few). Ill not give any more money to Menards and will be encouraging everyone I talk with to also shop elsewhere.

Will never shop here again walked in the store without a mask walked by multiple employees with nothing said went to the building department to order OSB right away the employee asked if I had a mask and I told him no I just need some OSB and was told he would not sell me anything if I didn’t have a mask. Should have walked out then but had a friend (who had a mask) place the order walked back to the front of the store past multiple employees with nothing said by them and paid $600 for the over priced OSB without a mask. As other people have said Lowes does not act this way so they will get my business from now on. Last I checked this is America where we have the freedom to make our own decisions on our safety and well-being. Menards stop being communist.
A cashier was rude and wouldnt help my husband buy something to surprise me all because he didnt have his mask on. Mind you this was the second time in the store and the only reason why he didnt have his mask on was because menards cashier said she would have a large item ready for us that we already paid for by the door but she did not. Customer service sucked to say the least.
Went here towards the end of the night in a rush to get some last minute supplies we didnt realize we needed for a project, including 10 2x4s. Their staff allowed us back into the lumbar yard and helped my husband load our lumbar, plywood, etc. even though they were in the process of locking it up. They were literally lowering the gate when we managed to finally pull around to the lumbar yard. Staff went far above and beyond even though we offered to just come back and pick it up the next day, they insisted on helping us out that night. Great customer service!

I know there are great employees here, but there are a lot of rude ones. Menards needs better customer service training.
Went in looking for some trim and a few pine inch boards . The trim is absolutely a mess. All mixed up in the rack, a lot of VERY badly warped trim and some even broken in the rack. The pine boards are of such bad quality that I spent nearly 30 minutes just to get 10 1x4x8’ boards that did not have cracks and that at least were somewhat straight. Lumber quality is horrible. Also the store is a mess and there is stuff all over blocking the isles so badly you can’t even get a cart down some of them. Sad really this used to be a great store.
Putting in a downstairs spa/bathroom. Did all of our shopping and took it all home that day. Had everything we needed.

Violating MHD rules and regulations on wearing mask. Staff is rude and Lexi the cashier was running around to other cashiers saying dont serve him, because I told her mask should be worn over nose or they dont do any good.

Mostly in stock items if they have it on sale. Store generally clean and tidy. Staff isnt overly friendly if you need help, almost has of they are bothered by the request. No matter as Menards is generally less expensive than the other big box stores.

Last night November 9th 20 20 around 5:00 p.m. I went into the Menards store and started getting yelled at by a returns employee that I need to wear a mask.I tried to tell the person that I have medical problems and she said it doesnt matter we are private property.I then told her that the American disabilities act protects people with disabilities. She continued to say it doesnt matter we are private property.this morning I wrote a letter to Menards general office and also filed a complaint with the department of Justice for disability discrimination.Now I guess it is a wait to see what happens.

I have pulmonary hypertension and heart failure and its hard for me to breathe normally and I had my mask off just to get some air and not have labored breathing and the workers were so rude to me about it. I cant help that I have health issues.

Dont believe there on line answer as to having a product in store. I looked up Big Rapids mi store and typed in deer hunting pop up blind. Site said they have them in stock. Drove 70 miles round trip and no blinds. Employee said they were sold out last weekend. 4 days and they couldnt put that on their site. Call first and hope you get someone who will actually look to see if they have what you want. Disapointed in menards.
We had some wood that was on clearance. We got up to check out and rang up full price. We went back took a picture, turns out their staff put a bunch of the wrong wood in the clearance section. We were buying 2 pieces there were 6 other pieces there. They would no honor their mistakeWe wont go back to menards in big rapids

Never in my life have I or my husband EVER been treated more disrespectful by the staff at this store, or any.. Accused of saying something to a store employee that was absolutely NOT true and treated with so much blatant disrespect and arrogance that I cannot even believe it. And then asked to leave on top of it. I’m just absolutely in shock that a place of business can think they can talk to a patron that way an expect you to just be ok with it. Menards will never in my lifetime get another penny of my hard earned dollar. So much for tact, dignity, and respect in today’s world. Never again will I step foot through your door.

Idk if you are aware but wearing a mask isn’t a law... you can’t force people to wear them especially people who have chronic lung issues! If you’re wearing yours, and you believe it’s protecting you from others not wearing theirs then what’s the problem? Sounds to me like you don’t believe the bs you’re trying to sell??? Lost a long time customer and I will not return even after this stupid rule is thrown out.
I stood looking for a hammer drill for a good 5 to 10 minutes and I couldn’t find it and employees in the area didn’t ask if I needed help. So I decided to takeoff my mask and experiment a little bit. Within minutes I had four or five employees ask me to either leave or put a mask on. Yet in 5 to 10 minutes of looking for something, I had no employee asked me if I needed help. Seems their priorities are a little out of whack. They have completely forgotten about customer service in this time, instead becoming a store that just enforced the “law,” a “law” that isn’t enforced at Lowe’s or Home Depot.

We placed an order online for twelve bags of water softener salt and proceeded to the order pickup in the rear of the building as we have done many times before.Upon speaking with the employee at the order pickup, he said we needed to go to the garden center. After going to the garden center, the employee said we needed to go inside the store and speak with the customer service desk. Once I walked all the way through the store, customer service was finally able to help retrieve our order.I question why there is signs on the door saying order pickup is in the back, and then get the runaround for a half hour to actually pick up the order. It seems like the employees arent knowledgeable on how their own store operates.
I was very, very pleased that Menards is following through with insisting that all customers wear masks. This is the 1st store that I have been to in Big Rapids that is overseeing this safety measure to ensure that the Corona virus is less likely to be spread. Thank you.

A follow up on why you should not use this company. I ordered a swing set online to be delivered to my house, paid for extra shipping to have it send by the second day. The product should have been here 2 days ago so I went to the store to find out what was going on. They told me I could return the product because their online system messed up the order BUT there would be a 25% restocking fee. Just so you know, I never received the product, the extra delivery option wasn’t adhered to and their customer service representatives didn’t know what they were doing. One said they wouldn’t deliver it to my house and that the option shouldn’t be available online, their GM said they would deliver it to my house when it was delivered to the store a week after it was supposed to come. I’m gathering this is how this big business works. They take your money, don’t deliver on services agreed upon then if you don’t want to buy their product anymore, even if you hadn’t received it yet, they charge you a fee for their incompetence. Menards as a whole is a joke, go local, spend your money to fund your local businesses that do what they say they will. Boycott Menards as much as possible. They steal your money, lie to their customers then staff the angriest, most worthless employees and teach them to further their cause.

Menards is much better than Lowes. They have a much better selection and their lumber is in much better shape. The people are very helpful and pleasant. Still cant get over seeing the Amish horse and buggie tied to a light post.

Dont online with Menards. You cannot contact anyone or receive any help from them. I ordered a fire pit over a month ago. And have not received it yet. So I went to the online pick up in store option because I had seen the item I wanted at the Big Rapids location. I get a call an hour later that the product I wanted is only half there. No one has contacted me still about my original order and they still haveyoney. .
