The lady in the back supposed to be helping with the costumes was so rude. (Bigger, older lady) While we were looking 2 girls asked her if she had 1 of the costumes on the wall she said yes kinda snappy & asked what size she needed the girl said med she laughed & said really. Then a little boy asked where the alien costumes were she told him they didnt have anything alien & he said nothing & she said I dont know what to tell you, all while she was trying to be helpful to this fine man who didnt even seem to want her help & kept trying to walk away from her.

I placed an online order to be picked up in 2 hrs. No one ever texted or emailed that order was ready. I called and called the next day no answer. Finally I went to the store and was then informed that the costume was sold out. I asked the employee why wasn’t I notified or something and she had no reason other than their short staffed. I do understand that but someone had opened my order to complete it but didn’t... I feel they could have notified me. Then she stood there and canceled the order which made the refund have to come back electronically, when I could have got my money back while I was there inside the store. I decided to write this review because as of today I still haven’t got my refund. I was really unhappy with the service provided at this location and my son did not have a costume even though I thought I had already purchased him one .

They had a lot of baby’s first bday banners that you attach all of their pictures on and the tag above themAll said 4.99. When she rang it up it was 9.99 so she walked with me to the place I got it and verified it said4.99. Said we have new employees and this isn’t right . I asked if they would honor the 4.99 since it was their error and she was very rude . Never even said she was sorry . Tacky tacky

5 stars is for the employees. Store looks crazy though but with the number of staff they have, can’t blame them when they’re working with customers too. Really helpful and knowledgeable

Stood to get balloons for 15 mins. Several clerks at the check outs. I decide to ask, is anyone working balloons? They say you have to get in the checkout line. Mind you, they saw me standing there, no one said anything

Store manager EJ extremely unprofessional and rude, I was cut off before I could speak. I only asked for a simple ETA bc of the unexpected storm that passed through on my sons birthday. 12 balloons were missing out of 30 that I ordered 2 1/2 weeks in advance. I was only told it wasn’t on a store receipt and I could not be provided a copy to show this! That’s stealing and I disputed through my bank terrible customer service and all she had to say was I speak to everyone in this tone.

This store was really disappointing and in desperate need of a thorough cleaning! Not only did it not have barely any decorations, but the bins where they sold candy had melted..stuck candy in the bottom of the bins! The rest rooms were so disgusting, I had to go somewhere else! Needless to say, I didnt purchase anything..and I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone else to either! I hate giving posts like this, but it is necessary in this case..sorry!

Store shelves is bare. There is hardly no paper and cup products.

The store looked good, but one of the staff members said she was in break, on the phone, was sitting on a bucket at the registry. Leaving her co worker to cash out a line of customers by herself. Cool if youre on break but get out of sight, go to the break room.

The cashier was very rude and the manager was not helpful at all I won’t be back. Go to the crest wood location if you want actual help and good service.

Spent over 20mins standing in line, with a manager standing with her arms crossed just watching. Cashier missed several items after but was extremely rude when she noticed, so I just left them. I was getting impatient and so was the grandbaby. Second time with the long lines, first time I left and ordered from Amazon. Unfortunately I could not do this time.

I dont understand how the standard helium tank is 24.00 at Walmart and target. But here the exact same tank is 35.00. Absolutely nonsensical

Online & hours posted outside the store state the store opens at 7am. I show up 7:35, the store is not open. I call once & get no answer. I call again and the associate states they open at 8. Don’t waste people’s time. I go to pull off. The lady then comes outside and waves me down. She then comes outside and looks at the schedule. I guess she forgot what time they open. 🥴

I refrain from writing negative reviews because you just never know what goes on behind the scenes or how hard someone is trying to make things work. However, as a customer, I have absolutely never been treated so rudely and disrespectfully.I placed an order for a scheduled delivery of balloons and a party game which was to arrive at my home yesterday sometime between 11:00-12:00. Come 1:00, I still did not have my order. My sons birthday party was scheduled for 2:00. Again, I understand things happen so I wasnt upset when calling to check the status of the order. But an employee answered and told me they do not do delivery. I told her I had paid for delivery and received a confirmation email detailing the order and when it should arrive... at my home. She continued to argue, interrupt, and talk over me telling me they dont do delivery and it was my responsibility to pick up my order. When I said, maam, you absolutely do offer delivery services - its all over your website, I have confirmation emails detailing when and how my order will be delivered, AND I already tipped the delivery driver, she abruptly hung up on me rather than finding someone to help. I tried to call back three times and each time she picked the line up and dropped it, refusing to even answer my calls regarding the order I had already paid for. I called the fourth time and finally got someone else to answer. Requested a manager because by now I actually was upset. Waited on the line for several minutes when a very apathetic man came on the line and said it was that employees second day - no apologies or anything and said hed have to pass it off to someone else tomorrow when I asked to file a complaint. He then said Shipt never showed up to pick up my order. I asked if it was not their policy to notify the customer that their delivery isnt going to be delivered so that alternate arrangements can be made. He said just went on to tell me yes they should, but theyre too busy to do that... no offer to have someone leave right then and come deliver it. It was terrible customer service and I ended up cancelling my order altogether and requesting a refund. So far I have been partially refunded.

Awful customer service. They don’t greet you. They will let you stand at the balloon counter for as long as you want until you finally ask for help, then they’ll tell you to go pay for the balloons at the checkout first. So inconsiderate and happy to waste your time.

Please do not order online from Party City. My daughters 1st birthday is coming up soon was I did indeed order all of her things for a 2 hour pick up. Party City charged for the items I had chosen, as well as an extra $100 for a pre authorized fee and $13.00 for misc fee. I went back in the store to ask for a manager for a refund, she just cancelled my order and didn’t issue a refund on my card the same day. I went to Party City on 280 and got my refund right away. I will never go back again. Thanks for ruining an innocent little girls birthday party.

This is my third visit in the past 4 months. Each visit there is only one person on register with line 10-15 people long. Moves terribly slow.

Yesterday I made a purchase and the woman working there told me lightning struck their system; but she could still ring up my purchase. Today I tried to return it and as soon as I came in the store and she saw me carrying a Party City bag she said, “are you going to make a return?” I said, “yes,” and she said, “ lightning struck our system so I can’t take a return.” I said “you could ring up the purchase after the lightning struck the system but you can’t ring up a return?” She said “you’ll have to come back tomorrow!” Really? Sounds fishy to me!!

I live nearly an hour away so I called prior to my visit. I asked explicitly if they had an item in stock (orange or yellow cheer pom poms) and the associate said they did. I visited no less than 1hr after my call only to be disappointed.

They had a lot of nice things. I was specifically looking for an Arabian costume for a party and they didnt have one. then I looked at the individual items to see if I could pull something together to make a costume myself. That didnt work either. But they did have a lot of other costumes and items that could be used for other themed occasions

I ordered online for curbside pickup. This effectively did not exist. There was no promises sign or location for curbside and phonecalls went repeatedly unanswered. I had to go in to pick up. Balloons were as ordered online and the attendant inside was friendly, but it was unnecessary for them to promise one thing online and deliver a different thing in person.

I think they are getting ready to restock or something because they didnt really have a lot of items to choose from that is why i said 3 stars.

Couldnt find an item (pompoms) even though manager insisted they could be found on back wall - no pompoms. Manager said they would look, then she walked away and did other things. What a waste of time.

Went to get two balloons blown up for Mother’s Day I requested Air instead of helium however the lady proceeded to use helium after blowing them up she failed to tie one of the balloons tight enough as soon as I stepped out the balloon itself flew away as I still had both strings in my hand this had been the second time i go there and once again did not like the environment will not be returning there

I absolutely love party city!!! They always have what I need to make the kids parties a complete success and more!!! My son theme was batman vs superman and everything was on point from the toys for the goody bags down to the napkins. The spectacular thing about it is they even matched the cake I ordered him. I would definitely recommend for that one stop shop. Depending on your party size be prepared to spend roughly$40-$75. Its really worth it though for those parents that are not trying to visit several stores

They have everything you can think of. All of the Disney characters for kids parties. I absolutely love it, and I highly recommend that you shop here!

If you are throwing a party then Party City is the place you need to go for party paraphernalia. However, the workers in this particular store are just rude. They dont care to help you very much. If going the extra mile is good, these people only go the required inch. Customer service is just not a focus. When youre in Party City, you start off in a good mood because you are getting ready for a party. Thats exciting. The employees in this store are professional party poopers. They dont answer the phone either. If youve had a similar experience or expect to, please like this review.

They have immense inventory. However, the staff wasnt very helpful. After an extended period of time of standing around waiting for four employees to fill three party balloons, my wife and I decided to leave. Finally, one nice young lady came forward and was quite attentive. I thanked her, especially since nobody else even looked around or looked up when we asked where certain birthday party items were displayed. Didnt hate the place but wasnt impressed either.

The prices are higher than expected. Decent selection on certain categories. Great atmosphere.

This location has lots of options and is well organized. My only gripe, and it is a small one, is the lack of help when you need balloons. There is only one person that completes your order. It might be a good idea to have at least two people assisting with the process. The staff is friendly and I like that they ask for ID when you complete your purchase. Who does that anymore?!?!?!?!

I think the only reason I give this store a star is because the girl that checked me out was very nice and polite. Now this review is strictly about the store in Hoover Alabama. My grandson needed a costume so I asked my daughter to call and make sure they had the costume before I had to drive out of my way to pick it up. She tried 2 or 3 times and nobody would answer the phone. Do I told her that I’d just run to target because the store maybe closed. So after shopping at Target and being unsuccessful, I decided to call Party City again. After 2 attempts I decided to drive out there. Much to my surprise, it was open. I had a hard time finding someone to help me and when I finally did, the girl acted put out with me.....like she didn’t have time. There were literally maybe 5-6 people in the store. So I told her which costume and size. She reluctantly brought it out and, my fault, didn’t double check her. AND surprise surprise, she brought me a small when I told her the large but of course I didn’t notice till I got home !! So my daughter tried to call them again and NO answer. She called the 280 store and they answered and told her that they have gotten many complaints about the Hoover store not answering their phones. I’m sure this store has lost business due to their poor customer service. Hopefully this review will help management tend to these problems !!

Im actually love party City and the help that you get from the employees there but were walking around you know we get everything we need for my granddaughters first birthday party and employees help us and we go to check out and theyve already hung up half of everything I have and the cashier looks up at me and wants to know if my daughters got a mess and she would not let us check out until she either put a mask on or left the store while theres employees putting items out on the shelves that do not have a mask on

Phenomenal for Halloween but you need to go a month before Halloween to get all the good stuff. The staff is so friendly and always helpful even when you go the day before halloween. They have beautiful large blow up balloons. Love this store.

Checkout line was slow. Employees need to prioritize mopping the floor, putting back returns and checking out customers. However, my son and I was able able to find what we needed.

The bathroom here was disgusting. I couldn’t let me toddler use it or change my baby in it. There is no excuse for how nasty it was. The toilet was covered in pee and poop. It was on the wall and on the floor. There were pieces of toilet paper torn up and scattered around. It was unbelievable.

Help me and my son had so much fun in here like enough said the girl working the register to put up with minor. Ignace about the LOL dolls and help me pick out the one who wanted by doing any many miny moe it was just funny as hell and she actually picked out the one the very one I needed out of the whole series

Wanted cheap sombreros and beads (got some with red peppers) & bandanas. They had everything we needed at a reasonable price. Lots of every kind of party supplies I could imagine. Staff was very nice and helpful.

The manager displayed poor customer service by failing to help an elder employee, her own employee, bag several bags of large balloons. The elderly employee struggled to get the balloons in the bag while the manager handled the cash register. Leading by example is an important character of a good manager. But not at this store.

PartyCity in Hoover was fantastic. Several employees were on staff during a very busy day and they were all helpful and polite. Total opposite in every way from the 280 store. We left that store and went to Hoover.

Great place . Daniel went out his way called the other two stores in the near area to see if they had the supplies I needed and they did! They actually went and picked the items up for me from the other two stores. Thats what you call awesome customer service !!!

Really terrible experience with this store, had to email about it. Would not go to this location again. They did not offer the level of service Ive seen at other stores. Filled my online order with 2 different items, neither which was what Id actually asked for and tried to tell me it was the same thing. Didnt seem to understand what an item count is.

I had to wait 30 minutes in line to check-out. It was,1 person on a cash register and about 5 minutes before I got to the head of the line. Another cashier came. Too long. Party City should have been prepared for the crowd. It is the same each year at this time. Very disappointed.

The store doesnt have most of the items listed online (even the ones that dont have online only next to them). This isnt really the employees fault, but its frustrating. The store is always understaffed- again not really the staffs fault. What is the employees fault is the attitude. Anytime you ask for help they pretty much took their eyes, and point in a general direction. Its not even worth going in. I would rather order off Amazon.

Parts of the store were very messy and a lot of the shelves were empty in one section. When we got to the register, there was one employee who was awesome. She was greeting everyone who came in, helping another employee who seemed to be new, and checking out guests all at the same time. She was very friendly too.

They have always had lots of party favors but pricey unless you find it on sale. Never enough people to check you out and customer services skills lack. If you are not in a hurray and dont mind the lack of customer service go.

Called ahead to make sure of the item I needed was available and the young Man assured me that it would be there and well in stock. When I got there no one knew about what I called about and a waste of time it wasn’t available.

Worst customer service ever! They only had 2 registers open on their busiest weekend of the year. It took 30 minutes to check out. All I bought was a wig/beard combo. When I got home to get ready for a party I found the wig had been worn before and smelled like strongly of smoke. I explained this to the store when I went back and they refused to return the item. This store had always been terrible. Dont waste your money.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! This is the worst party city in America! I went with two other friend to get confetti balloon filled with helium there were two workers that were no help at all! The only decent person to help us was the lovely Stephany! Thank you so much Stephany! If the whole store had workers like you, I would be giving this store a 5 star rating unfortunately the two hags you worked (one of them being a so called “manager”) with on 02/16/19 around 10 am ruined my experience. Party city needs new employees or at least needs remediation for those two!
