Thank You Books is my FAVORITE bookstore!! The staff always knows what books your heart needs. I order online because I live out of state, and the books always come so quickly and are wrapped beautifully and it makes me feel like I’m opening a present every time I order a book! Would 1000% recommend.

To borrow a title from Hemingway, it is truly a Clean, Well-lighted Place for books.It has been years that I have lost the habit of pleasure reading, but upon discovering Thank You Books )and making the decision to make time for pleasure reading again) this has changed.On my first visit, I told the staff person that I have fallen away from the reading habit, and I asked her to recommend a book for me. Jokingly, I said that if I read it and didnt enjoy it, I would not return. I was back the following week and asked her for another recommendation.Now, I have read two books that I likely would not have chosen on my own (and have enjoyed thoroughly). I can hardly wait for them to open today to get my following recommendation.This is the experience that Amazon cannot replace. Thank You Books is owned and staffed by caring, literate, and passionate readers, and even if it werent within walking distance from my house, I would drive across three counties To go there.

Simply the best! Everything you want in an independent bookstore — wonderful book selection, warm and inviting surroundings, and the nicest most helpful booksellers in the business. I always leave with a smile on my face and a stack of books in my arms. Cannot recommend highly enough.

A nicely curated selection of books, many with hand written reviews and recommendation posted on the shelf. Classics are mixed in with just published books emphasizing the fact that literature doesnt age as poorly as action movies. Bring time to browse, to communicate, to get inspired, and leave with a book that you cant wait to crack open.

I hate to draw too much attention to this perfect piece of paradise because Thank You Books is my absolute favorite place in Birmingham! Truth be told only a monster wouldnt enjoy a locally owned bookshop, yet the owners of Thank You Books make this space truly special through its curation.I have never seen such an impeccable selection of children and young adult books, and I can always find something eye-catching on their diverse display tables. They have genuinely thought of everything and even have a small shelf set aside for paperback picture-book favorites, which make a notably cheaper but also travel-efficient option. I overuse that spot during little ones birthdays to pick up a smattering of my nostalgia as gifts. The wall of recent staff picks is a place I secretly treat as a Cosmopolitan mag personality quiz to see which team member I am reading most like that week, and to find new things I may not even know existed. I havent taken part in a book club yet although they do offer them, however, I have caught a story-time or two on Instagram live and think its a sweet gesture that they have continued during the pandemic.Ultimately, this little shop can do anything a big box bookshop can so I just dont go anywhere else because I am not the kind to question perfection!

This is very good bookstore. I’m so happy they opened in the neighborhood. We haven’t had a quality bookstore around here since Smith & Hardwick in Forest Park and more recently The Jaybird on 5th ave closed. There’s an excellent inventory, and of course, they can track down most anything needed and get it ordered for you.

This store is delightful and obviously run with so much care. I ordered some merch because its such a cute name and shop. It came with the sweetest note and thoughtful packaging. If I ever come through town, Ill be there in a heartbeat.

LOVE this store! The owners are super friendly, and they sure know their books! They are passionate about what they sell and can make recommendations to any reader. The book selection is excellent and unique- many current bestsellers alongside favorite indie publishers and collections such as the New York Review Books Classics and Europa Editions. Ive even seen a handful of titles and authors here that cannot be found right away in most chain bookstores. The kids section is adorable, so bring the family! Plenty of works by local and state authors are available too. Dont overlook the goodies- journals, logo tees and tote bags, and gifts for readers. Overall a charming and cozy shop. You wont leave empty-handed!

They took the time to find the perfect book to help inspire a young boys reading. They also directed me to other sources that they did not carry. A true sign that the goal was more important than the profit.My own special order arrived quickly, another tell in their quality of customer service. I am happy to support this local business rather than send my money off to a distant corporation.

Cute little bookstore

A small quiet dream of mine has been fulfilled- to have a charming neighborhood bookstore within walking distance of my house. My first purchase was for my husband who has a soft spot for design history and obscure facts! ‘The Secret Lives of Color’ is the most amusing and interesting read giving an in-depth synopsis on the origin stories and backgrounds of different color names and their historical influence. The owners are incredibly gifted in the literary arts and it shows through their thoughtful selection. I cannot wait to visit again.

Thank You Books is an absolute blessing. I always dreamed of having an independent bookstore in my neighborhood - and now its here! Kristen, Laura, and Elizabeth choose each title with care - and they are all well rounded readers. During this very weird time in all of our lives Ive loved getting a little package from TYB, but I miss being able to browse their shelves and listen to their recommendations in person. This is a great local shop to support - they have a lifelong customer in me.

Thank You Books in Crestwood is my favorite bookstore ever! Incredible character meets genuine and joyful business owners. The meticulously sourced books and crafted layout make for a really cool experience. You cant help but want to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa (2 doors down) and just read until they close. We bought all our Christmas gifts and grabbed a few things for ourselves. GO!.. Because you will fall in love with this place.
