Donald did an excellent job fixing my door. I usually do things myself but was having trouble coming up with a solution to fix this particular problem. Donald was able to come up with a clever solution and fixed it right up. He was friendly and I felt very comfortable having him at my home. Service was also very prompt with good communication from the company.

This company takes bad customer service to a new level. Delivered 2 doors one week ago. One is partially installed. Didn’t show up for 2 scheduled install appointments. They are really good at scheduling appointments and not showing up. Zero quality control of their jobs.

I called OGD to troubleshoot my garage door opener opening & closing randomly. When I placed the call the operator told me that the tech would do a diagnostic and have all parts needed on the truck to do the required repairs. When the tech arrived the first thing he said was that he is not allowed to open up the opener housing. When I told him the issue I was having, he pushed the wall opener button a few times and looked at the operation of the opener. Then he tells me we need to replace the opener. He charges me $380 deposit for an install of $767.00 that he will do on his next visit in a few weeks. After the tech leaves, I did my own trial and error and discovered that the remote for the opener was warped and causing the unit to open randomly. I called the corporate office an hour after the tech left to cancel the new opener install job and get a refund on my deposit since the tech misdiagnosed the issue and I actually did not need a new opener. I was told that a manager would call me back. As of now…..no one has contacted me.

Michael my repairman was very knowledgeable and efficient. He was able to quickly trouble-shoot the problem and affect a solution. Very personable and professional.

Initially a technician came out and misdiagnosed the issue. I was charged $455. On the second visit I was charged $200 after someone on the phone stated the original repair was under warranty. The tech did a great job but management was lacking. Sometimes it is better to advise your customers that a new system is needed rather than repair something that keeps falling apart.

They offered same day service, on a Saturday, and did not charge a weekend fee. Our technician showed up on time, was polite, courteous and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem, offered different packages for us to choose from, and did not push the most expensive option. He completed the work very quickly and our garage door has never been quieter in the 4 years we have lived in the home. Competitive pricing. Absolutely recommend. Could not be happier.

I had this company come out to my home, I needed my springs replaced. I asked a couple of times what the price would be. The answer was the installer will tell you when he gets there. The installer gets to my house measures the springs, then quotes me a price of $750.00, I told him its not happening, he calls the office they try to explain why it would cost so much, I told them it should be $300.00 max. The office then tries to sell me on the springs $420.00 for the same amount of work the installer was going to have to perform anyway! The problem with this is that (OGD) is a knockoff of the real Overhead Garage Door in Irondale, and trying to charge 3 times the money! I just had the real Overhead Garage Door come out replace the springs, lubricate the hinges, rollers & springs for $250.00 and thats exactly what it should cost for this service!

Tech arrived on time, was very knowledgeable, and was able to efficiently solve the problem. Would definitely use them again. Five star service.

We had a technician come out the next day after we called, assessed the situation, and had an appointment for the following day from 2:00-4:00 PM. Unfortunately, the tech was sent via dispatch to another job, and was unable to make the assigned appointment time for that day. The job was rescheduled for the following day, at the same 2:00-4:00 time slot. Once again, the technician was sent to another job, 1 hour 15 minutes away, for a 2:00-4:00 time slot as opposed to our home. The lead to two consecutive appointments missed, due to the technician being sent to other job sites. To add to it, we were not notified once, by anyone at OGD, that the appointment was going to be missed or that the tech was running behind schedule. We had to call to ask about the appointment and where the technician was located. Eventually, the technician arrived at 5:30, 1 hour 30 minutes after the original time slot.I attempted to call for a week to speak to a manger, and finally received a phone call back (after 10 phone calls), only to be told we apologize for the missed appointments, but at this point there is not much we can do as far as a financial refund, but we can extend the warranty. So, much for making things right for an inconvenienced customer.On the positive, the technician that arrived to take care of the issue and installation was fantastic. He was thorough, went above and beyond fo us, and did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend the technician, as long as the appointment schedulers and dispatch allow the technician to arrive on time to the scheduled appointment and not send him to canceled appointments or to other jobs.

They were prompt to call me back to setup appt. Came when scheduled and did a good job replacing my springs. When I setup the appt I asked about the $50 daily coupon and was told it would be applied to the invoice. After completion, invoice was emailed to me where I discovered coupon was not applied. I called and was told they would see if there was anything could be done and I would hear back from someone soon. It has been 6 days and never heard back. I would have given 5 stars but with lack of response after repair, I gave 3 stars. Tech gets 5 stars.

The person that took the initial call was very helpful and pleasant to speak with. The service person was very was courteous and made sure I understood what the problem was and what he had to do to repair the door. Upon completion, he made sure the door was fully operational. Wonderful service!!!

Requested replacement of chain drive openers with belt drive for a quieter system, OGD installed two basic Lift Master units, I immediately called OGD and expressed my concern and disappointment. OGD sent the installer back out and tech said there was nothing he could do and acted like he had no idea of the quieter Lift Master unit that I was inquiring about but he would look into it once he got back to the office. I made three additional calls over the next 2 business days and was transferred to different people/departments. All that I received was a promise of a return call, six weeks later... still waiting! Seems like once they have your money they are not very interested in any further communication.

My garage door was damaged by the tornado of 25th March and I thought the door was beyond repair. Called OGD and Scott came that same afternoon and fixed it. Saved me a ton of money and I will recommend OGD and will use them in the future.

I paid in advance to have perimeter seal added to my garage. The tech, Kailex Duncan- Hughes, advised me he would return 2 days later on a Friday but no-call no-show. I called the company to request a refund over a week ago and the agent advised me someone would be calling me. Again, no follow-up. This is a scam company. I highly do not recommend.

Lack of communication is a huge issue. My 76 year old mother was injured during the demo and install of her garage door. I spoke with the sales person who did not show great concern. The installers were great but need more training on safety. My mother was allowed in the garage to fold laundry while the demo was taking place and the spring popped off and she was struck in the head. Fortunately only first aid was needed. No communication in regards to the injury. Pictures are the day it happened and two days later.

Honestly your technician is a keeper because he definitely knows all about his profession.

It has been a long time since we have received service as expeditiously as OGD gave to us. We were going out of town when the garage door remote was accidentally triggered and the door came down on the car breaking the door cables and some of the runners. We called OGD as we were driving away. Their representative came that evening, called us while on the road, gave us reasonable quote, fixed the door, called us again to tell us he was finished, and locked everything safely. What a relief for us !!

I purchased 2 new garage door openers from Lowes, and called this company to install them. They said they don’t install openers when purchased through a 3rd party. I thought that was weird but OK. I then asked if they could recommend someone else and I was told no and hung up on.Sorry for giving you your first non-five star rating, but you definitely weren’t any help to me. It’s fine if you don’t want to do the work but there’s no need to be a jerk to me.I then called Magic City Door and they were very friendly, professional and willing to install them.

I feel that the price charged for the garage conversion from a torque bar to an external spring was about $200 over charged for 1 hour of labor. $500 for the conversion.....

Technician was timely and seemed very knowledgeable; however, could not solve my remote programming problem. It seems that when I purchased a Chamberlain controller for a post 2010 Liftmaster garage door opener it would not work with my 2011 model because the 2011 has a purple “learn” button, not a yellow one. The tech explained that I could not program my wife’s 2018 Toyota Highlander opener control without first getting a working remote. Subsequently, I exchanged for a Chamberlain Universal 2-button remote that said it would work with the purple button. It did not. It seems the opener (which worked remotely on my wife’s Former Toyota 4 weeks ago) has no ability or programming to learn. My consternation is, “Why did the tech I paid $35 for a house visit not check the opener?”
