I am writing this review as I walk out of this supermarket. The lack of open cashiers in a heavy populated area is ridiculous. Lets not talk about the self checkout and every item you scan and associate has to be called to override. I dread coming to this supermarket because the lines are always long. You spend more time waiting online to check out then you do grocery shopping. This supermarket has to do better and I am sure I am not the only customer dissatisfied.
Strategy for a timely shopping experience: go with someone. One person does the shopping, and the other immediately gets a spot in line upon entering in the store. Expect to be on line for at least 45 minutes. You can use one hand to count the number of cashiers and probably have a couple of fingers left over. The renovations are nice though; youll have time to enjoy them while on line.
1st time at this Stop and Shop. I liked it aisle were clean and cleared. Food was stocked, the produce was beautiful like magazine perfect. Fruit and veggies perfect color and healthy looking. They probably knew I was coming by. Highly recommend.
The cashiers are nice but the lines are ALWAYS, ALWAYS long down the aisles. If you come here around the 11 a.m. to 6 oclock hour, expect to be in line for at least 25 to 30 minutes.I wish they had more cashiers, this would not only help customers, but also help the cashiers too.Plus, they are always low on inventory. I can never find the Fridays frozen wings, never. Even the variations of peanut butter is always scarce.Edit: Another day, another long line. Im doing laundry, thought I can come here and be in and out while clothes is in dryer.I think I figured out ONE of the reasons on why the lines are so long.The young gentleman cashier needed a void for something in my order, he went to call the manager TWO different times, being as only the manager can perform a void.No exaggeration, 10 minutes went by and no one ever came. Finally, a fed up customer behind me went to customer service to remind the manager and why was it taking so long? 1 minute later, the manager comes out in a lackadaisical manner. How long did the void take? 15 seconds.
I wanted to get some salmon portions from the fish market but the young man was taking a while to prepare them. It turns out he was a brand new worker and nobody was there to assist him in his job. The department should not leave a new worker all by himself. Many customers would not go to the department and would not care that he is a new worker. I understood when he said he does not know what he was doing and declined the transaction. I do not blame him for trying to do his job. There should have been somebody with experience to help him out there.
I frequent this store on a weekly basis and most of the time it’s not a bad experience. But I cannot understate how terrible the deli counter service is at this store. Most visits it’s hoping there are few customers at the counter, otherwise it’s a long wait. Today the worker told myself and another customer that it would be a long time before she could take our orders. Had to drive over to shop rite at that point. If the deli manager made sure that the other deli workers stepped in whenever there were more than 2 customers waiting then maybe it would not be such a train wreck…
Nice, clean store. The people are friendly and prices are reasonable. Theyre currently redoing the store so some things have been moved. But the employees are really helpful in showing you where a particular item is.
I really love shopping here. The gentleman with glasses at the deli department was really nice and cut everything how we needed. Also the cashier we had was awesome. I can’t remember her name nor is it on the receipt but she packed everything nicely and was really sweet! Keep it up guys!!!

I’m usually a happy customer at this location. Recently, I’m having issues whenever I buy their ice cream. It has freezer burn. Clearly the freezer is not working properly which they should look into fixing. I spend my $$ and get freezer brunt ice cream.
A little bit expensive but very clean, new redesigned aisles and new products. Great supermarket all around.

Personally its one of the best grocery stores in this area other than the spanish grocery store around a few blocks away. This stop and shop has EVERYTHING and the staff is nice if you need help with something. 5 stars all the way!
I used to shop here, but the quality of the produce isnt that great. If you get it right after they get their new shipment in, it might be okay, but otherwise the produce we get from Stop & Shop tends to go bad very quickly.They are usually short on people staffing the lanes, an issue that encouraged them to install self checkout lines which do help a little.We continue to go here only for the sake of the pharmacy, however they have recently replaced everyone in the pharmacy, and enforced new draconian measures that make getting your rehired prescriptions a lot more inconvenient. I understand these measures are in place because something bad happened, but it is too much for me if it delays the medicine I need.
Ive bought pasta and wheb I poured into the boiling water there were tiny insects in it, Ive also bought packaged lunch meat and sour cream that were both old.
Its a good supermarket, I usually can find everything I want.
The grocery manager Jeff is incredibly rude. I asked for some assistance with an item and he basically told me to screw off. He is a bitter man who will be depressed for the rest of his life knowing that he works in a grocery store. He should be fired immediately for treating a customer with this much disrespect.
I hate when you go to self checkout and it doesnt scan certain things annoying as heck. Staff is awesome though so it makes up for it
This particular Stop and Shop is extremely over priced, especial vis a vis Shoprite stores nearby. Its poorly run and not well organized. There are never enough checkout people. Above all, when you need help all but a few staff are surely and unhelpful. AND SOMETIMES THEY HAVE A STUPID ROBOT WANDERING AROUND. WHAT IT, DOES WHO KNOWS!
Elaine a produce associate has no clue of customer service. I asked her where a particular vegetable was and instead of showing me she just pointed! I asked her to show me and she pointed again. W.T.H. why was it so difficult for her to walk me over to what I was seeking. Then I see these signs misplaced and rotten tomatoes! I could not purchase any vegetables after seeing the care behind this actions. Will not shop here ever again! Now all my fellow Google followers will know of this location.
I agree with the less crowded affair here, that’s because customer service doesn’t exist here. Not only the staff at the check out walking away or pretending they’re busy when there’s a problem. That’s the first prob. But the pharmacy is even worst, no caring or very responsive with any accurate answers. Btw what happen to the cool pharmacists who’s been there for years and they were replaced.. Why?
There’s always lines they stretch down the aisles for the two registers they ever have open the self checkout line will stretch all the way to the bakery most days, staff is mostly rude. Dont go here go to the one in Clifton on Rt. 3 instead, a little bit of a drive, but you will get out of there quicker

Prices are a bit high but its convenient and I like their selection of tropical vegetables which are really good looking and fresh. They also have coconuts which now with the health craze its good to have some coconut water. Its a good inconvenient place to go shopping
I think they forgot to place (In CAPS) the SUPER before Stop & Shop. This happens to be one of the biggest stop & shops Ive been to even bigger than the Super Stop & Shop I worked at on route 27 Franklin Park. This supermarket is clean, well organized and the ideal place to go food shopping 🛒.
This place is less crowded than before the pandemic, but the customer service has gotten worse. There are zero baggers and you (and the cashier) have to bag the groceries. When I asked an employee (there was only one) at the bakery where a certain bread was (it was in the circular and I held it up) she said, If you dont see it over there we dont have it. Its a fairly large bakery area and I asked, Which shelf would it be on? Over there, she said, vaguely waving in the direction of the baked goods on the floor. Plenty of loud children running around, not being properly supervised by a parent. The aisles are cleaner than they used to be but still some groceries are picked over, although not completely stripped the way it was several months ago. Prices here arent inexpensive, and the money isnt going into customer service. On the whole its average and nothing more. Improved customer service would raise the vibe to 4 stars, for sure.
**PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS**Posting this review as I am currently standing in this looong unnecessary line! This is the closest stop n shop to me. I used to work here as a cashier years ago and let me tell you the customer service is atrocious!! Every single time you come here it is only 2 registers open and here I am almost 8 months pregnant with very swollen feet having to wait in this long line for no reason! The so called managers do not manage anything either. They truly lack customer service skills here. Nobody knows where anything is at and the other worst part is they are ALWAYS OUT of things! Please avoid coming here!!

I came to purchase some crab legs seafood department was very helpful they did not have the king crab which I prefer but overall good service.

Lines to check out longer than the Mississippi. Especially Fridays and the 1st of the month. But the biggest issue is that they are Always out of cheddar rice cakes.

This place is crazy, they only have two cashiers open on a busy day. I was in the line for 30 minutes.
Its stop n shop.What else needs to be said? Well actually a lot can be said...FIRST. This store and its staff needs to be commended because like many other grocers and retailers they stayed the course from day 1 of the pandemic so the rest of the world could continue to eat and supply their homes with untold amounts of toilet paper and everything else we thought would end our world if we ran out of. they opened every day so our lives wouldnt be as disrupted as it probably should have. They put themselves in harms way for US. Thats the most Neighborly and American that it gets FOLKS.SAY THANK YOU the next time youre in the store cuz not only am i sure theyll appreciate it....but they DESERVE it🙏👍👌

Clean.. deli employees wanted to go home.. guess it was bad timing on my part... but really its no Aldi in price comparison.. my bill was $60 higher shopping at Stop and Shop..Thats a bit much!!! I guess employees attitude cost extra on the bill... lol

The worse pharmacy staff! They are rude and nonchalant. You can tell they don’t really want to be there. They will never go out of there way to assist you. There attitude is clear, this is my job and I hate THIS PLACE. They give people the wrong medications all the time. They do not follow pharmacy protocol and when they are called out they continue to be arrogant. The support staff are just as rude. Enter at your own risk!

I havent been to this Stop & Shop location for years....and out of necessity I decided to give it another try. They definitely made improvements and I think that its great. I definitely will come back to do my regular shopping at this location
The reason I decided to post a review, is because I dont feel the same about this store, I continue to shop here, because it is my neighborhood supermarket, however, whenever I can shop somewhere else I do. Now my review is not based on products or rude cashiers, because after 19 years of shopping here and spending thousands of dollars annually, Ive never experienced that. My review is solely based on my experience with customer service or customer concern or care. No, Noone was rude, just lack of empathyand not by everyone, just by senior management. About a month ago, I left my wallet in a cart, after 2 hours of me realizing I went back to the supermarket to inquire, I had hope since Noone attempted to use my cards, the asset. Manager on duty that night was awesome, she also gave me hope. After that night hope seemed to fade when my attempts to get management to view their security cameras, just to determine if my wallet left the store, thats all I needed for closure. Now to be clear, I am not blaming the store for me leaving my wallet behind, I am, however disappointed with no communication from them to this matter, no concern for their patron, no empathy. I am a Healthcare provider and an educator, if i cant afford to lack empathy for my patients and students, it would and could be detrimental to their healing or learning, intry my best to go above and beyond for all who come in contact with me.Again, I am not attacking your store, I just wouldve appreciated a phone call from someone, whether you viewed the camera or not.SincerlyDisappointed Patron.

I will NEVER shop at this store again. On a Saturday morning two months ago, I had a full cart and I asked the reps controlling the lines for the self-checkout registers 9 or 10 with the long conveyor belts. They told me I could not because I had too many items. I told it was not true because the customers who wer at those registers both had full carts. I then went to the manager who told me i was right and that I had the right to request for those registers. Fast forward to yesterday, I asked for registers 9 and 10 and the rep controlling the line asked me if I had seafood. I asked her what that had to do with anything. The person before me who went to register 10 had seafood and she did not ask him if he had any. She then proceeded to tell me that she had to ring it up because a customer failed to pay for seafood last week and I asked her what that had to do with me. I asked her to show me any sign in the store that says that if you have seafood in your cart, you cannot go to registers 9 or 10. She could not show me any. What a shame. I have been a loyal customer of this store for more than 13 years now. This store is definitely setting itself up for lawsuits. Train your Workers properly. This store used to be a decent store. Stop profiling!

My absolutely favorite supermarket to shop! They offer fair prices and super savings. There produce are always fresh and appealing. The meats are fresh and not as costly as some grocers. Good supermarket goods of high quality and quite reasonable prices, clean and comfortable.
The treatment from associate Kim in the self check out was unprofessional. I asked her a question about an item ringing up different from the advertised price and she answered me with an attitude stating I needed a digital coupon. I asked her if I can be accommodated because I was unaware and she refused with a sarcastic remark and gave me attitude. I worked in customer service for 15+ years and customer satisfaction is extremely important. Having an attitude and no personality is a bad reflection of the business.
Great place to shop
First time going and I loved it. It was super clean and very well stocked. No uppity snooty staff or customers. Didnt make you feel unwanted shopping. I will definitely go again. Only thinking is the number listed calls the pharmacy. I need to know the hours of operation since everything is different these days with the pandemic.
I really like shopping at stop and shop but you should have more Organic vegetables most of the veg are withered and not fresh.
