I stopped in for a late breakfast while in town recently. It was wasnt too busy when I was there mid-morning on a summer Friday. The staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Nutella and banana stuffed french toast, hashbrowns and bacon. It was delicious! The coffee was hot and also had a great flavor.
Any resident of NJ loves a good Diner. The town of Bloomington is pretty old-school with brick buildings and local stores that are centrally located next to the University of Indiana. I found this little gem 2 blocks up from my hotel. Menu was simple and covered your basic Diner selections.Highly recommend the: B-TOWN Breakfast Stacks- Hoosier Haystack was an excellent selection
Easily one of the best breakfast joints in Bloomington! They do in fact have the best hash brown in town period.

Another great experience at B-Town diner this Sunday with my husband and two boys. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles and huge omelets. Thanks for the great service and great food. We come here a lot of Sundays and the staff make it feel like home. Proud to support a local hometown staple!
Ordered the Decadent Mac and Cheese along with a side of fries and this was the result. Waited 20 minutes for them to make our food and it came out soggy and not flavored. Mac and cheese said to be very cheesy yet tastes like buttered noodles. Fries aren’t fried all of the way and some still look raw. 1/5 wouldn’t order during quarantine.
They dont answer the phone to pee order. Food was really good though.

Called to make an order for delivery as their website says they do, man that answered the phone was rude and dismissive. I was hoping to try this restaurant for the first time, but based on this experience, I will not be trying btown diner.Edit: In response to the owner, I would have been fine with this explanation, but the person on the phone was rude and curt, and offered me no other solutions. I understand things change, but I would expect to be treated with respect when asking a simple question.
Everything is freshly remodeled and very cozy. The waitress was friendly and kept the coffee full. The food was great. I tried something new to me, the corner beef haystack. It was excellent. I would recommend the Btown diner and will be back.

This is a great place to have breakfast and Im sure for other food as well. Im a breakfast person having worked 12 hour nights for many many years. The selections were good. I had the Corned Beef Hash and it was very good. Definitely had the diner vibe. Would come back when in town.
The service is really nice, it is typically not too crowded, and prices are reasonable. There is a wide selection of food for everyone that is prepared pretty well. I personally love the hippie hash and the pancakes!
Man I normally just get breakfast a la carte, but my dad told me I should try the hoosier haystack with the bacons and extra cheese. It was friggin delicious. Tons of food for the price, and I cant wait to go back for more. Ive never had to wait and the staff is always friendly and fast. Absolutely my favorite place for a quick breakfast.

Food is good and in nice big portions. Wait staff is friendly and quick. This is a nice little addition to our town. Friendly to all ages and walks of life. I definitely will make this a common place to visit in my future. Also for being at its location the prices are very reasonable especially for the large portions they give.

A waitress was holding and feeding a pet rodent at the table behind me in between serving tables.I guess it was alright because she did put hand sanitizer on before returning to work.I really hope the health department shuts them down.
They get it. I went at 1:35 am, and the server was a total saint... quick to serve me, genuinely concerned that i was enjoying myself, and prompt and accurate to settle the bill at the end. I enjoyed the food so much that I went back the next day for an early lunch. Definitely worth a trip if you’re anywhere close

Great place to get anything u can think of for breakfast. Great lunch and dinner menu as well. Plenty of space with a great line up of services and cooks. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat in a great establishment with an even better atmosphere!
Amazing breakfast service. Food was prompt despite being busy, and my sandwich was fresh and satisfying. Bathrooms are single person only bit well maintained. Restaurant is kind of narrow, but the booths are comfortable and there is adequate seating. Great food, reasonable price, nice staff.
Open early. Good food. Reasonable prices. Handled a group of 20 on a below zero wind chill day. Pay attention to ingredients on eggs benedict...not what youd expect. Large B&G order could feed four.
Very good country fried steak A+
First time visitor.The food was okay at best. The lamps dusty with webs hanging from them just about every booth had split seats. The server said shed been there a couple weeks but could not answer any questions. I ordered fries as a side and specifically told the girl that of they did not have honey mustard I did not want fries. She brought fries and then told me after looking that there was no honey mustard. We were never offered a refill on drinks. We had to ask for syrup for pancakes and it was given to us from another table and in a dirty container. We did not eat the fries and she said she could take them off of the bill then came back and said she could not take them off of the bill but she didnt charge me for the drinks so it should even out. We were happy to try this place because of the reviews but ended up over charged and disappointed.
BEST place to grab some breakfast before we headed back home to our babies after an overnight stay for an IU event. Even as an alumna, I had never eaten there, but I bet it wont be the last time! The sausage patties were especially savory!
Unbelievably poor customer service!!! My family of 3 just left there after waiting an hour and a half for our food. The family the got seated right before us had already eaten and left and the family seated after us had already eaten and were paying. They never came to ask if we needed a refil and we were told that they were busy when we asked about our order. 😡

I have been searching for a long time for a place just like this... Great food.. the staff are always there to refine your beverage... The building its self was tight and limited seating but if you have to wait for a seat it is well worth it.. this place will definitely be a go to place again... Chalking it up as one of my top 5 restaurants in Bloomington ...

I don’t know if it’s the coffee itself, the water used to brew, or some combination, but the coffee here is consistently awful. The mediocre food can’t make up for it either. Please consider getting better coffee. It can really go a long way in improving the overall experience. On a positive note, wait staff is always friendly.
Service was amazing, waitress was very sweet. Then the food came out very quickly. Food was fantastic! Should have seen the size of my husband homemade omelette Wow!!!!! Would highly recommend.
The waitress that answered the phone and took my to go order does not like her job so rude then when I picked up order .. not one smile not one hello all attitude tossing things everywhere..did not give me plastic forks or anything with our to go order .. just terrible terrible attitude .. I still tipped her for my to go order because I am not that type of person ... but she is giving b town a bad name.. I dont know her name but Brown hair maybe it was curly but it was up ..tan face cute girl to bad she does not smile and look miserable.. I left me my food so annoyed from her
I tried the shrimp po not. It was not only delicious but I couldnt eat all of it. Everything Ive eaten there has been better than expected. Our waitress provided a pleasant experience that my friend even commented on later. For the amount and quality of food, its very affordable.
I thought it was a decent place. Nothing fancy and only had one waitress for the entire place, but it is rather small. The 24 hour breakfast is what brought me there. Took a while to get our food, but it was a weekend night and busy. Neat place with the perfect location . I will for sure go back. The cost was moderate. Friendly staff and it appeared to be a rather clean place.
This was my first time coming into the diner and I have to say I was impressed with the staff. The waiter we had was one of the best I have ever had. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was honestly the best I have ever had. My coffe cup never got below half a cup and before I left I had a to go coffee waiting for me. Great service and amazing food. Only reason I did not give a 5 star was unfortunately the seats were very outdated and wore out. Only half of mine had a cushion on it. But honestly, I’d sit on the floor if they keep up this service and delicious food!

This place is great for breakfast! I usually get an omelet and it comes with hash browns and toast. They brew coffee from a local roaster and it is always fresh and hot! The staff is very friendly and keeps our drinks full. We go here often.
I had the Eggs Benedict and some great conversation with the waiter because luckily I was there at a down time. Eggs Benedict was great as was the waiter very friendly. Will definitely return and will use this as a great breakfast spot to bring visitors.
Food was great service was not on the other hand it was around 1 PM no where to sit all dirty tables. Then waited 10 mins and finally had to get up and find a server to get a menu. After I finally got a server she was good but not good first impression walking in the door. This place was recommended by a manager of the business next door also.
Server was great. I was the only person in the place, but still no gravy for biscuits and gravy. My hash browns were made from black potatoes apparently. They weren’t burnt, just black. I’m not sure how they tasted because I was afraid to eat them. My ham and cheese omelette barely contained any ham or cheese. I dropped $15 including tip for basically scrambled eggs and a coffee.
Great service, blah food. While the coffee was good, and the eggs werent bad, the bacon, hash browns, and toast left a lot to be desired. Its also more expensive than other breakfast places, so either step up the taste/quality or lower the prices to that of the run of the mill greasy spoon.
Wasnt really a big fan of it. My sausage links were overcooked the waitress forgot to bring us our silverware we had to go find her to get them. And my tea was either old or the tea urn wasnt cleaned prior to them adding it to the urn. I had really high hopes for B-town diner but now I know for next time i will not be returning. Sorry for the low rate.
Ive given btown diner a couple chances now and both times werent great. My first visit, lunch hour on a weekday, we walked in, found a seat, and waited. And waited. Until finally, we were noticed by the young lady texting on her phone at the kitchen door. She took our orders, food came promptly, and was pretty good. Second visit, same as before, waited an incredible amount of time. Different server this time, took our order, same prompt delivery of food. Sandwich bread had mold. I picked it off and ate that sandwich, because I was hungry and had to get back to work. Told the server and didnt even get a break on the bill. But whatever. Diners beware.
My partner had a super delicious shrimp po boy. The potato (+veggies) pancakes that I ordered were good too, dont get me wrong. But that po boy was something else. Definitely coming back for it.
Where to start. I was there around 1 in the morning with some friends. I knew not to expect too much cause I had heard the food was not very good and that the place was worn down. We had a nice server but the food was dismal at best. The biscuits and gravy didnt look like biscuits and gravy. Looked like there was small pieces of ham in it. The server took it back and said they had a new cook. The new batch wasnt any better. My friend got the cheeseburger with fries. The cheese on the fries never did melt. The burger was ok but lacked flavor. My other friend got pancakes and they were dry as could be. The coffee was old and overall it was not a good experience eating here. Im sure there are other food items we can try to give the place a second chance. You cant beat the location where B Town Diner is at. Its right there on Walnut where all the bars are at.

I ordered a country fried steak, and it was severely over cooked. Could not chew it. The waiter said he would send it back, I was Leary that the cook would be angry and do something to my food so I declined. I still had to pay even though I only took 2 bites. They have a no refund policy but expect you to take the chance of spit in your food or worse. Been there 2 times. Will not go back. The waiter was very nice.
Would be higher, but the service was noticeably slow... we actually saw a couple who came in 5 min before we went in leave before we had even gotten our food. Perhaps a one-off but several other reviews seem to indicate slow service is systemic. Food was decent... nice variety.
Sat down with another person and was not given a menu, drink, silverware, or approached for 15 minutes. People sat around us and were helped while we waited for any sign of help. Finally we had someone help us, got us drinks and a menu, no silverware though. Ordered from a different waitress and given plastic “silverware”. Got the food and it was cold and had been sitting out for a while. Final waitress we got was nice, but everything else wasn’t.

Waited for someone to welcome us, show us a menu or just acknowledge our existence in their restaurant. It did not happen, we left. Would like to mention someone walked in after us and was taken care of, ordered his food. I wouldnt worry about it, we wont be back.
Amazing breakfast comfort food at a very fair price
The food is wonderful, but this last time i went the food just was not as good and it took forever for the waitress to even come take our order. They all just kept talking amongst themselves, which was super annoying. Eventually when she did take our order she seemed annoyed, our food came back cold and overall I was disappointed. When it first opened up it was a great place, great food, great staff and great prices. I hope it can get back to that.
Our family always love trying local favs, was told this was the place to go. Reminded me of our local diner at home. Atmosphere was nice, enjoyed the hipster vibe. Service was good. They were busy so it took awhile to get our servers attention, at least she was busy though and not just hangging out talking. Food was really good, pancakes were a little gooey in the center but thats the only thing to complain about.

They bring water to start. They know there customers and take music requests. The food is good, and they sre understanding if want something wild and specific. The coffee is well made and the environment is very cozy.

I would give b-town Diner a big old three stars because Im usually in b-town diner at 3 a.m. Now from my memory, which isnt great, the service was good and fast. The food is pretty greasy but for my level of intoxication it probably saved my life. I would recommend b-town Diner but only if youve been drinking!
The best breakfast food in B-Town! Had a Rooster stack.. easily two portions - MASSIVE ! Amazing flavor awesome crunch on the hashbrown. The waiters were super nice and kept refilling this Brown County Coffee - I call it my happy liquid !! Thank you !! We will be back with our friends 🎉🎉🎉

One of the best breakfast spots in Bloomington, however they could stand to renovate a bit (especially in replacing wobbly tables). Overall, the service is usually very good, and the food is good as well. Get their coffee for a strong start to your morning!
Decent place. Food is relatively expensive but large portions and pretty tasty. Hoosier Haystack breakfast is great.

This is not the restaurant for me. The air was stagnant with no flow, the food was very greasy as if they used one skillet for everything. The tables were sticky, and flies were everywhere. Literally felt nauseous and couldnt finish food after 2 bites. Not a fan
Small and mighty! Family reunion group of 25 adults and children. They let us make a reservation last minute, separated each of our checks(per our request) had our table ready, waitstaff was friendly and EFFICIENT, food came quickly and was delish!
Saw the sign this morning on the back of the van. Awesome service and food. My son had the stuffed French toast with bananas and nutella and I had the California chicken sandwich. Both were great. Definitely will be going back.
Best pancakes Ive ever had!! And their portions are huge. I always have leftovers for lunch or dinner. I get the Hoosier haystack! So good!

I was running late, and the courteous, efficient staff (server was Anna) got me seated, ordered, served, and out the door in 20 minutes even though the place was busy. Good breakfast, to boot.
