Stopped on a Saturday about lunchtime to look at landscape stone. The crew was receiving a pizza delivery and offered my young son a piece which he happily accepted.Our grill tank was filled while we browsed and decided on stone from the helpful visual layout out front.Our selection and amount needed was written up and they were even able to deliver same day and fee was reasonable. The owner asked kindly if we had the area prepared (which we did).Very pleasant experience and will be back for future needs as customer service was great and no pressure.

I had sand delivered. I gave them dimensions of where it was going. They brought me more then I needed so I had to pay for extra because the guy didnt calculate it right plus they charged me an excessive delivery charge to come 3 miles. They sell by the scoop not the ton like normal places. The delivery guy didnt even place it where he was suppose too and made a horrible mess. Horrible experience.

2nd year of using Mapes for various projects around our Mystic Mountain property.Very knowledgeable and helpful, was able to give them a estimate of areas and they figured out how much product was needed, they were spot on with the amount. Service was quick and professional.

Buyer beware, Terrible service! Horrible experience!We had previously used a different vendor, but they were told had to use a small truck, they showed up with a huge dump truck, so we had to send it back, We called Mapes Mulch next day explained property situation and they verified would use a small truck and never said they couldnt deliver it where we needed it, they came out with small truck but wouldnt go down a small incline, they tried to say was an embankment, its not, my husband even sent them a picture! They did offer to take back but would never deliver to were we need it and we have a carport ordered and dont have time to pick another ( I guess well see if carport company will have a problem, I doubt it). Now my almost 60 year old husband has to shovel 2 1/2 ton ( also thought we were getting 3 ton for the price, be very wary of the scoop pricing, deceiving) into wheel barrow and move 25 ft. I called and spoke with the owner Rick( I think, Rick, so upset I dont remember) and he was arrogant and rude and said HE DID US A FAVOR, we would have had to pay to tow the truck out, no need for that, our neighbor gave permission to go straight out through his property if there was a problem. This company is inexperienced with its drivers, unprofessional in handling a situation and charging more per ton, because they go by the scoop? not tons. I would never recommend this company to any of my friends and if we had the time we would have refused the order and try to find an experience driver (our coal delivery guy hasnt had a problem doing it for 15 years), this driver shouldnt have either in my opinion. We had a garage size shed delivered to the bottom of the property about 75 feet farther down and they had no problem either! the worst part is how owner handled it, we paid for a delivery, not a drop off and I feel short changed for what we got, he could have at least gave a break on price considering the man hours its going to take to move it! Buyer beware!

Good guys

We have been using Mapes for a few years now. We use the ground bark mulch, top soil and mushroom soil. Everything looks great and the prices are very reasonable. Added this year is LP fill sation - check it out. Another new addition this year is local compost and manure peatmoss. Go check it out, you will be satisified.
