Dishonest, disrespectful, and deceitful business practices. I was dealing with James Skeldon (Jim) at NESR Inc. the manufacturer of Sunboard Panels. We exchanged several emails going back and forth to finalized floor plans and estimates on a radiant heat project I was working on. After looking at their initial quote I expressed interest and call James Skeldon to let him know I wanted to move forward with the order. His secretary answered and immediately told me that “we do not accept Credit Cards!” I thought that was a strange but shouldn’t be a problem, as I budgeted for this. I later notice on the Sunboard Panel website, that they accept most major CREDIT CARDS. After getting the floor plan adjusted and a finalized quote, there was a significant price increase. So, I called Jim and asked the very simple question, “Do you accept Credit cards, because I saw that your website advertises this?” Jim became EXTREMELY upset and CURSED me OUT saying “I DON’T GIVE A S*** WHAT THE WEBSITE SAYS, WE DON’T ACCEPT CC” I stayed claim and asked if he’s willing to honor what his website says? Jim Blew a GASKET he said I can use PAYPAL, I said I don’t have a PayPal account setup, and other four-letter words were used, so I hung up. He basically yelled so loud that all my coworkers heard him on my phone. I felt completely disrespected and lost all trust in doing business with Jim especially after everything was going so wellJames Skeldon, whether you work for a small business or a major corporation, following ethical principles matters. You should take a business ethics course and while you’re at it, an anger management course would help too.
As a licensed general contractor, I depend on professional and reliable suppliers of material. Jim is one of the best. I give him the project drawing or my own drawing and dimensions, and Im all set. Sunboard panels, Layout, tubing, and manifolds. I wouldnt buy anywhere else. 5 stars isnt enough!
BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!The owner of this company, Jim, is dishonest and a complete scheister!! BEWARE of any dealings with this company.I installed radiant floor heat in 8 previous projects but none using Sunboard. In October 2017, I was asked to install 6000 sq. ft. of Sunboard on a project in Texas. I had 1 simple question on how to get the pex tubing from the first floor downstairs to the manifolds. Since there are no instructions or videos on the company website, I called Jim to get a simple answer. In typical condescending New Yorker attitude, Jim told me unless I was an engineer he would no longer speak to me. I advised him I was suggesting the homeowners cancel their order, which was over $30,000 and paid in full. The product had not been shipped. The homeowners contacted Jim and he told them to contact his installer in Colorado which they did. The installer spent several minutes giving his opinion of how lousy the radiant heat design company they had purchased materials from, the same company I used on every project prior. The homeowners never got the answer we needed so they contacted Jim to cancel the order. The company website boasts 100% customer satisfaction but in fact provides no satisfaction. Jim did refund $10,000 but refuses to refund the balance despite the homeowners agreeing to pay a $1600 design fee and a 10% restocking fee even though the product never left the warehouse. Jim now refuses to speak with the homeowners.Complaints have been filed with the New York Attorney General office and the homeowners are seeking attorneys to consider their situation.I have never given and business a poor rating and usually do not no matter how poor the business is. I simply cannot let this slide without informing potential DIYers. There are other options and other companies to deal with.
