I was visiting family in NC when I had trouble with my 2018 Subaru. I was over 900 miles from my home and decided to bring it to Modern Subaru of Boone. I was able to make an appointment on-line. Modern Subaru of Boone has a very up to date facility. Their staff was very friendly and took great care of me.
Brad Collins was an excellent sales representative. The transaction was very easy each step of the way. I have appreciated the service at this dealership for 4 years, which is one of the reasons I bought a 2nd Subaru.
Waiting room is nice. About the only good thing I can say about the service department. Took a car in with overheating issues. Was told it was a water pump, which they replaced for $775.00. Didnt fix the problem, so I took it back only to be told I now needed a new radiator and engine rebuild, approximately $5,000.00 worth of work. Decided to buy a new car instead, from another dealership. When I went to pick up the car with the overheating problem, I was informed it might just be the radiator. Wont be going back.

As hard as it is to buy a new car right now, the team at Modern Subaru almost made it seem too easy! Lacy on the internet team and Ollie on the sales floor were amazing and so helpful with getting me in my new Subaru! I drove 1.5 hours to buy my car from them, and I’d gladly do it again. My car was ready and waiting for me as soon as I got there. The paperwork was quick and easy and they didn’t try to push a bunch of extra add-ons and options on me. They told me what they had to offer and left me free to decide without being pushy. Great customer service. Best dealership experience I’ve ever had!!
There are no words to describe how amazing my car buying experience has been with Modern Subaru. I have purchased many cars before and have had the typical sit in the dealership for hours on end before you finally get to complete the transaction. Modern Subaru handled all of my paperwork digitally. I scheduled a time to come test drive my car. I told them I wanted the car. I had an appointment the next day to come in and sign my paperwork and drove off with my new car in less than 30 minutes. Carley was a very knowledgeable sales person and extremely personable. It was a pleasure working with someone that was so professional and friendly. Modern Subaru has definitely earned a repeat customer from me.

I heard their customer experience was great, so I went there to purchase a car after a terrible experience at the Subaru dealer in Asheville.I was able to purchase the exact car I wanted at a fair price with great financing. Unlike all the other dealerships that we visited, they were not pushy and they helped us stay in budget.All of the staff, including the general manager, went above and beyond to meet our needs. They even recommended a delicious local restaurant for dinner since we were so far from home.
I wish the Service Advisor would ask you if you had any coupons. My bill today was just over $500 & I had coupons that I could have used in my car, but unfortunately I forgot about them. Other than that the service and attention to detail was excellent!!!

This was one of the best experiences, I have every had with a dealership. I called them about a car Modern Subaru had listed on the internet, and spoke with Kendell Berry, he told me he was not a salesman but a retired teacher. HE was very transparent about all the numbers on the price, and told me exactly what the price would be.He had the car cleaned up, with a full tank of gas and made everything a very smooth and pleasant experience. Then after the purchase, he called me 3 more times to follow up to make sure everything was great, and I was happy.He went above and beyond the service of any salesman I have ever dealt with. Called this morning about a last minute issue that come up with my car. I was just seeing if they had anything available and asking around turn around time. The person taking my call was audibly sighing and clearly extremely exasperated to be speaking to anyone. So just never taking my business here with that behavior as the first point of contact.

We came looking to trade our 2018 Crosstrek up for a 2021 limited. We had no idea how scarce cars were at the moment. We actually wanted a blue one but nobody had one and we needed to make the switch before several trips, one of which across the country and back.The folks at Modern Subaru were the first to find us a car and the white color with black trim has grown on us, nice looking vehicle.We have had several follow up calls and emails from the folks at Modern and they always ask if there is anything they can assist us with which I appreciate very much, I would recommend this dealer to my friends and family.As for the Crosstrek Limited we put over 5000 miles on it in the first 17 days and will have close to ten thousand by the end of July. It gets great fuel mileage, is fun to drive and comfortable on the long runs. The Harmon Cardon sound system and navigation is awesome and the safety and security features are too numerous to list but sure do make long trips easy.Thanks to the folks at Modern !!Roger and Sonya

Lucas was our first salesman 3 years ago and we were fortunate to have him again this time which reveals low turnover of employees and employee satisfaction with their jobs. This satisfaction is revealed also in how they treat their customers. Lucas has always been ready and willing to answer our questions and guide us towards our voiced interests.
The Tech that checked me in was very friendly and helpful. He checked for my service contract and recommended needed service. Unfortunately I did not catch his name. The service was done quickly, which was appreciated since I had to wait at the dealership.

Took our subaru in on Saturday to see if they would buy it. They agreed and offered me a price, I asked for a little more money, barely over $500 of what they offered me for it and they said there is no negotiating because of the miles it has to go straight to auction. I said ok and took what they offered me, here it is Tuesday and the car I sold them is listed on their website for sale on their lot. I was lied to, if your company is built on lies that is ok, however I am not to going to be silent about it. If you had simply told me that the price is the best you can do and left it at that it would all be on me, but because you felt the need to lie I will not recommended this business to anyone...

I have purchased a new Subaru and a used Toyota from Modern Subaru. I felt that both cars were fairly priced, and the sales process was smooth. Luca did a great job of working through some problems with me. Chris Poe - the service manager - is Americas best service manager. And thats no exaggeration. If you have worked with Chris, you know this too. I have been working with Chris for almost 10 years now. I think the guy is incapable of lying or even disguising the truth. Chris is as honest as they come. And when you are getting your car serviced or repaired, thats what you need the most. Chris also knows cars inside and out. I dont own a Subaru any more, but I take our Lexus and Toyotas to Chris. One of his tech is a Toytota/Lexus whiz. With Modern Toyota in the same building, they can get parts right away. I wish that there was not so much turnover among the service reps, but I have been working with Neal for years. He does great work - very honest, clear, and reliable. I recommend Chris and Neil to people all the time - without reservation.
Finally seemed to get my name right. Had kept urging me to come in but most options were already up to date. Everyone was masked but it seemed like a risky somewhat unnecessary trip.

I dont know how the service is here because we went while they were closed, but the cars are imaculant and a wide selection too and Ill be honest I dont know much about reasonable prices for these cars but from what my friend said he wanted one of these cars but he would probably go somewhere else to buy it because of the prices so on that you will have to be your own judge but its a nice selection of Subarus
My experience started with an online search for a Subaru CrossTrek last year. I wasnt sure at the time if I was even going to actually purchase a Subaru. I was contacted by Amy first and then she connected me with Luca, who I met when I went in to purchase my CrossTrek. I also met Tony that day and then later I met Jodi via Zoom. This space is not large enough to say all the nice things I have to say about my experience with Modern Subaru of Boone. I have owned Toyotas for years and went back to the same dealer to look at their new vehicles before deciding on a CrossTrek. I walked out of there feeling like I would never want to work with a dealership again. Working with Modern Subaru of Boone was a totally opposite experience and I was treated with kindness and respect from start to purchase (and then afterwards). They have a staff that they should be so proud of at Modern Subaru. I will never purchase a new vehicle from anyone else.

Great service but the sales staff dont wear masks, like two completely different businesses. There are many signs but sales customers, managers, and staff are very cavalier about COVID. Also, the Subaru pricing is high, better off going down mountain if you are concerned about safety or prices.

The dealership is fine for maintenance and they do a fine job. As a dealership in general, I dont care for the vibe or atmosphere that I have when I am there. The staff is friendly and helpful and the waiting room area is very nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are very nice, and very clean.

Ive have had such a lovely experience when it comes to this dealership. Everyone we spoke to was attentive and patient with my many many questions. The sales rep, Laurel, that helped us pick our new car was very wonderful. She was walked us through the entire process and was willing to stay later to help us fill out the paperwork. The delivery specialist, Jodi, is also amazing. She went to great lengths to help us get our appointment scheduled and was willing to make it work on our time. She is personable, informative, and very nice. She made learning all the new little tricks I didnt know about my new car an easy task.
My dealership is doing a good job of customer service during the pandemic. Most wore masks and observed social distances. They sanitized the car when they completed the service.

This was our very first time shopping for a car at a dealership, and it was not a good experience. We did test drive the car and that went well. In fact, everything went well until we decided not to buy. The gentleman that was helping us was very nice for the most part, but when we told him we would have to think it over he got hostile. He was very rude and extremely pushy. I admit we went back and forth a lot, but this is a big decision and our very first time. I didn’t expect to be attacked for turning a car down. Also, there was another gentleman to our left that was busy on his cellphone and pacing back and forth. He was also acting aggravated and that was very distracting and unprofessional. I work with people everyday and would never act in that manner at work. We went to another dealership and found the perfect car for us in our price range and the people were fantastic. We will never be back to modern Subaru. Very disappointed.

I have NEVER done a review before but felt compelled I had to here.While a Griswold Family Vacation from CT to Jefferson, NC we were forced to contact Modern Subaru of Boone for some service. The customer service we received was fantastic. Polite, professional, and fast. No false promises and open and honest about services, like we often get up north. I even over heard conversations with other customers where they didnt try to up-sell for other services. One customer needed a couple filter changes and the customer wanted to do them himself. They explained how he could do that without pushing him to get it done. Up north they would have said there is no way and probably would have stretched the truth about how it needs to get done, just so they could do it. If Im within 200 miles of Modern Subaru and need service - it will be worth the trip to know Im getting great service with honest people. Thank you to Matt Greene and the service crew at Modern Subaru for getting our vacation back on track!

We were pleased with Modern’s handling of recall and basic service for my wife’s Toyota a few months ago. Today I stopped in with no advance call to discuss a nuisance issue with my Subaru which, by the way, was not purchased from Modern. They took the car right in. It took about 15 minutes for them to let me know what repair was required, that it would take about 1 1/2 hours, and that it was covered by warranty. They gave me a ride to and from Boone while they did the repair in the time they estimated. Great job!

We purchased a 2017 Subaru Outback and returned to the dealer twice for a couple of issues. We have been greated and treated with respect on both occations. Polite and helpful to our concerns on both visits and unlike other local dealers I have dealt with in the past I had a pleasant outcome .

Go to the Subaru dealership in Johnson City, TN instead. My buddy got the same make and model but they tinted her windows and added a rack to her car. Modern Subaru told me that the paperwork from my bank wasnt coming through on the fax but they could finance me at the same rate. When I signed the paperwork it was the same, but when the final invoice came I realized Id been charged extra.
We enjoy bringing our car in for service with the courteous staff at this location. We are able to get convenient times and the service is great.

We had just moved to the mountains and discovered that our Equinox was not going to handle our steep rugged driveway. The day we went to buy the car we were in a hurry as there were 20 inches of snow in the forecast. The staff at Modern Subaru were great! So efficient but didnt cut corners on our experience because of our hurry. I love my Forester so much and it conquers the driveway with ease! Just took a family vacation to Orlando and the car was so comfy!

When we arrived we were greeted by Hayden who offered fantastic customer service from the start. When we were curious about specifics, he printed off information to share. The people there where all super nice and helpful. Not once did I feel pressured into buying anything I wasnt comfortable with. Going there was the best car buying experience Ive ever had. And their stock on the lot was pretty impressive. Would definitely suggest going there and would go back myself.
