After looking for a casual bite to eat, so happy we found this place. Great location on Newbury street, we had an enjoyable night to sit outside. A really good taste of Boston’s famous lobster rolls! recommend

This is a great establishment from top to bottom! The staff are so welcoming! It was raining when we visited, and we had my service dog with us, so we thought we’d have to order to go, but since the place was almost closed and we were the last customers, they let us dine in. They gave us recommendations and everyone loved it! My dog was also happy as they gave him treats as well ☺️🐶 The fries are good, the lobster is immaculate, and the fish and chips are BOMBBBB!!!! The food here is great, and it’s in a prime location near Copley Square. We all enjoyed our visit, I’m looking forward to returning!

This was my first lobster roll. It was good! I was surprised that they had red bean deserts. I got the shaved ice with red beans and it was surprisingly good.

The amount of quality lobster meat you get on the lobster roll itself is pretty impressive. At first I was a bit disappointing because I didn’t see enough mayo mixed into the lobster meat but the lobster meat was very flavorful even without a lot of mayo and seasoning.However echoing the sentiments of other reviewer’s I completely agree that the lobster roll bread is not the best. The role is sort of like a brioche bun which is very dense but wasn’t well toasted. The brioche roll itself looked awesome and tasted great but the density of the roll did not pair well with the lobster meat. I would’ve preferred a less dense roll that was well toasted and buttered.

Very disappointing. The server looked absolutely miserable the whole time although there was no one else in the restaurant and he was not busy at all. Maybe because he just wanted to keep watching the TV.The shaved ice was nothing like from the picture. The lobster roll was mediocre at best.

This place has amazing Lobster Rolls! Packed with meat drizzled with butter..OMG! COME ON NOW...want to get back on the plane and head back to Boston! Ruth provided awesome service. My daughter got a bacon sandwich...in Boston really?? But it looked marvelous. Dont forget the clam chowdah! Seafood tasted fresh. Parking can be a little challenging but worth the trip!

Only ordered a lobster roll but it was stellar. Literally just lobster on a roll with a weird butter sauce. But it tasted great and the lobster meat chunks were huge! This cost about $32

The lobstah roll is tasty, especially hot and buttered. Bread is a bit much though.

Decent warm butter lobster roll. Tons of lobster on the standard, but some bites were a little chewy. The clam chowder was dope though. I also love that its in an old sushi restaurant

Great service. Nice ambiance. Wrll cooked food... BUT... there was no flavor to the lobster. They gave me warm butter on the side. Even though I poured it all in, I didnt feel like it had any flavor to it. The lobster was cooked very well however. Maybe next time just pour the warm butter in before serving.

The most amazing lobster roll! Absolutely delicious. Followed it up with an amazing shaved iced, never seen anything like this before, it was so good! We will definitely be back.

A small eatery on the beautiful Newbury St. 3 tables outside, perfect for good weather. Clam chowder was delicious. Fish and chips were fantastic. My scallops had a funny taste, not sweet like they should be. The crown jewel tho was the lobster roll. The standard was 6oz of lobster meat but it looked like more. The roll was so good, grilled to perfection. Staff was very nice, fast service. I would visit again!

Not a bad place, but nothing special. This was my very first lobster roll, and while the roll the soft, sweet and toasted to perfect, the lobster meat lacked flavor. The lobster pieces were large and plentiful, however there was no depth to the dish. My husband had the lobster Mac and cheese, and in his words, the dish was meh. The server however was an absolute sweetheart, and I did enjoy the location.

Im giving two stars because I think the restaurant should reconsider the way training their servers – we were misled by their explanation on the menus, and had much more than what we expected. I believe part of it was on us not trying to get to the server exactly saying, but she didnt show any respect on us when we asked for a bill. My friend later told me he felt embarrassed. The food was nice though (lobster rolls)

Poor service and poor food quality make this one of the worst options in all of Back Bay. The clam chowder could be mistaken for Campbell’s, the lobster mac came with barely any lobster or cheese, french fries taste like a school cafeteria, and the chefs must have ran out of salt because most of the food was just generally bland. The fried clam roll was the only saving grace.

Preordered our meal well in advance but staff hadn’t even started to prepare when we arrived (not because restaurant was busy; they literally weren’t aware we placed an order). Potato roll was stale and the lobster, though plentiful, was…just ok. And expensive. All things considered, overpriced for what you get.

Nice menu selection with some tasty options. However, their lobster roll was disappointing. The bread was good and the amount of lobster was good, but the lobster itself wasnt very good. It was chewy/on the drier side. Flavor was ok but nothing more. There must be better lobster rolls in Boston, thats for sure.

I ordered through the phone……the server who took my order had no good customer service…….when I got there to pay he just presented me the pay device with out greeting me or asking my name or what my order was.I wasn’t even finished paying for it and he proceeded to take of the device out of my site I had to tell him to let me finished pay for it and he just continued taking the device out of my hands also he packed the kepchup packets inside the food and didn’t close the container so that’s not good higiene to put ketchup packet that everyone touched …….server need to learn customer service! Other wise food was very good in the past.

One of the best lobster rolls in Boston. The bread has a slight sweetness to it and differentiates them from the rest. Plenty of lobster. I got the hot butter roll and you get lobster butter on the side to add on. Been there many times will continue to go.

So good. Lobster bisque and lobster roll were fabulous. Chicken tenders were clearly made in-house with a nice tempura style batter.Most Excellent!!

I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The lobster roll was delicious, with fluffy fresh rolls and the perfect amount of butter. The clam chowder and the Harvard Chicken sandwich were also fantastic! It is rare that I walk away from a meal this satisfied.

Worst lobster roll i had in Boston. The standard one is about 27 bucks each with plenty of lobster which is great. However, the lobster smells so fishy that i threw up and my boyfriend also got a stomach flu. If you think this is some good tasting lobster roll, you should try more others.

One of the best lobster 🦞 roll I had ever had. They pile the lobster on a toasted soft sweet roll topped with butter. This was worth every penny😁.

Ok I get it, C19 rules are hard to follow for some restaurants but when all of your seating is out side seating and when all of that seating is empty and your still open for 30 more minutes according to your Google maps entry and you still tell the customer who just rode an Uber from their hotel to your restaurant that the driver couldnt locate because your sign is a laminated b&w print out that you have no seating and you only have togo, that while that customer is waiting for the second uber and you lock up your shop at 9:22pm while your customer is still waiting on that Uber, its really hard to give a place that has that much appreciation for their customers who shell out 34 bucks for a lobster roll that had a huge chunk of shell in it... Much more than 3 stars..

Absolutely the best new England clam chowder and lobster rolls! Everything tasted so fresh and savory. The battered shrimp was perfectly crispy.Very friendly and helpful staff10/10 would recommend!

I called at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and asked for dine in . They were wonderful and said If I got there as soon as possible they would accommodate us. I read great reviews online. I had been in New England for 10 days and had not yet had a Lobstah roll or whole fried clams (shame on me). My expectations were extremely high and unfortunately I was very disappointed. The clams were strips not whole( my fault) I did not read the menu . Never thought a place like that would not be serving whole clams. Not at all what I wanted. They were ok says my wife. The lobster roll was a decent roll with a good amount of meat ( 6 oz). Not the best I have had but not bad. The biggest issue was how tough the lobstah was. The best part of the dinner was by far the Lobstah mac and cheese. It still had the tough Lobstah but the dish as a whole was very delicious. I dont think our waitress really wanted to be there ( it was Christmas Eve after all). It was reflected in her overall attitude. Overall it was not bad but not good enough for me to go back or recommend it to anyone. I was in Boston for a Christmas morning flight back home. Sure wish it had been what I was looking for.

Bland and boring. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

The food was pretty good, but the experience was disappointing. We stopped in for a quick lunch while in the area, and (while I understand lobster is market price) found the bang-for-the-buck wanting. $72 (including tip) felt like a lot for two lobster rolls and one Coke when consumed underground in a restaurant that looks as though nothing was updated or renovated after its former life as a cheap sushi joint. For that kind of money go to the north shore or the cape and have a day.

I met Chef Kenny at their Columbus Ave location, and I had such a wonderful experience, I realized I needed to pick up a roll from the Newbury Street location on my way home from work.The woman working has a name I’ve never seen before, and I asked her how to pronounce it. The white man who had been on the phone until then asked me playfully if she shouldn’t be Asian since her name sounds Asian to his ears.I responded that no, it doesn’t, and I don’t think you should ever tell that joke again. The joke is racist, and it is clear from his reaction that he’s told that racist joke before.As soon as I told him the joke was racist, he told me to get out. I told him no, and I proceeded to explain to him why the joke was racist.Don’t eat here.

Their menu selections are fewer than expected but the lobster roll was good.

Wow all they place is pure lobster in there lobster rolls. I’ve eaten at seven lobsterRoll places now and this one is definitely one of my faves. They toast the bread just right! Will be a frequent place I visit since I live so close.

Awesome Lobstah on a soft roll!

Delicious, fast, fresh, friendly, and locals. I got the fish and chips (the Marina Bay) and a side of onion rings. Top notch restaurant, I highly recommend! Excited to go back.

Garbage at it’s finest. Obviously fake reviews. Lobster was tough as a steak, scallops tasted old and fish smelled like bleach. Only thing ok was the clam strips which was obviously cooked in French fry oil. I should have know when not one soul was in the restaurant on a holiday and it’s the busiest street in Boston. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else

FOOD HEAVEN/PERFECTIONNNN.. Its a small, cozy joint with friendly service. The Lobstah roll is out of this world!! The clam chowder is amazing and so is the lobster bisque. My cousin and I drizzled our bisque on top of our lobstah roll and we almost needed two per person because they were soo good. 10/10 recommend!

Omg this place is a gem, fair price for a lot of lobster. My go to regular place now for amazing lobster, no fillers. You gotta go the owner is soo nice. Clam chowder also has all clam which is soo good.
