I got interested in traditional archery about 9 months ago and quickly discovered selfbows and bowmaking. Obviously, this is a very niche hobby and very hard to find knowledgeable, experienced experts. I was really excited to find Viktor and learn that he’s so close by here in Boulder.I took a bowmaking class with him, and I learned more in a few hours with Viktor than I would have learned over months of reading, researching, and working on my own.If you want to make a selfbow, I HIGHLY recommend calling Viktor.

There is so much respect and honor given to this craft. Victor has shown master craftsmanship in each bow he creates. It’s truly amazing to see the process unfold from rough piece of wood to a beautiful full functioning bow. I love that he uses mostly all natural materials! My 9 year old son has a bow and has taken lessons from Victor. I’d say it has definitely improved not only his form but his confidence!

Both of my boys 8 and 11 take archery lessons from Victor. He has created a great environment for the kids to learn this craft as they are also exposed to his process of hand making all his bows from only natural elements. The experience has been most entertaining and enriching on many levels!

I became aware of this craftsman via Instagram. I have been an archer for 30 years and shoot longbows normally. I had long desired a selfbow with all its natural beauty preserved. That is just what I got! This guy is a master bowyer of rare skill. My bow contains a large knot with hollow eye and he has meticulously worked the growth ring with incredible skill. The bow looks amazing and has lost no strength at all. It is 50lbs at 28 inches and is whip fast! the string knocks as slimmer than my little finger and this seems to make for a very fast smooth shot indeed. It is throwing shafts as far as my 80lbs warbow and its a foot shorter! I cannot recommend this bowyer highly enough. Costly, but you pay for skill and I dont regret a penny of the price.
