Came specifically on a Thursday because the website said you were open and you never opened. You should fix your website. We drove an hour to visit.
Delicious variety of brews! David was very personable and catering. I was a little bummed there was no food, but everything else more than made up for it. Will definitely be back if we find ourselves in the area again.
My partner and I recently visited every brewery in Boulder. It was a daunting task but somebody had to do it!Of all the breweries we tried this one had the best beer in our opinion. The selection of beer styles is fairly large and each style weve tried has been exceedingly well done. This is very much an industrial micro brewery. If youre looking for ambience, a kitchen, and a sports bar like feel youll have better luck on Pearl St. If excellent beer (and maybe a game of darts) is more your goal however, I can not recommend Stein enough.
My wife and I were visiting boulder a few weeks back. My brother in law has been living out there for a few years and we were lucky to have him as our tour guide. J Wells was one of our stops and we loved it. great place, nice people. Its on our return trip visit list. might be our first stop from the airport. good luck guys keep up the good work and great customer service.
Great time here! The beer is always good, I love the laid back atmosphere and the staff are friendly! Really great place to hang out with people at the end of the day!
Beer was tasty and the taproom was small and pretty quiet.
Remember when Metallica started in a garage? Well expect the same great things to come from Stein Brewing Company. Explosive flavors, great beer, hidden talent that will blow your mind! 😎
Wonderful friendly bartender. Let me borrow a lighter. Great undiscovered beer!
My wife and I stopped by the other night, and what a treat it was. The taproom sits among auto body shops in a light industrial part of town. It couldnt be less pretentious. We split four beers. My favorite was the cherry sour. Id never had a sour beer, and this was a great introduction to the category. Just a little tart and not too powerful on the fruit flavor. I easily could have downed another pint or two. Well be back for the good beer and the low-fi, unpolished atmosphere.
I worked across the street for a few months and went there several times. The owner is always talking to customers and Ive had some great conversations with him about homebrewing. Always has a few different beers and he is always trying new things. Its easy to miss but its simplicity, great beer, and easy atmosphere make it a small brewery worthy of adding to a brewery tour. Its basically in a garage/warehouse, so only downfall there
Tasty beer for a reasonable price.
My hubby and I love this place so much. Hop Haze is an excellent IPA and the people at J. Wells are great company - both the staff and the clientele. If you are a beer lover, J. Wells is a must do while in Boulder!
Very impressed with the IPA and chocolate stout! Not every day happen over to a brewery with 9.6/10 quality beer. The bar tender was really nice.
Rude staff who didnt honor the complete Groupon as stated. Of the full flight, only a beer or two were even worth finishing the taster size. Skip this one, as there are so many others nearby that are much better in quality and service.
Soooooo goood. The owners are the best and I can’t wait to go backs. Super friendly people and vibes. The drinks are awesome too. :)
Great brewery with a good variety of beers. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, would strongly suggest the Rye Kolsch.
Awesome hidden gem of a brewery. Was thoroughly impressed with every beer that I tried and the live music on Thursdays is super fun!
Good beer. IPA is excellent. Quiet. Unpretentious. Funky.
They would not serve me because I have trouble walking after driving for an hour. Apparently they have an attitude problem. A shame I have to leave that one untried as I am working on visiting every brewery in northern Colorado.
For me, the beer is far too bitter. This might be great for fans of IPA, but just not my cup of tea.
Hop haze and Jr IPA is great, fun little place and a great deal from groupon. Good garage brewery
Amer-IPA 6abv lo floral great bitter and hop finish ; CM-Stout 6abv w/choc nibs lo floral/malt, no roast, disappointing ; dry taps.- small garage space ; wifi pw doesnt work ; dog friendly ; impossible to see from the street.
Jamie Wells is the man! The Hop Haze is the best beer in Boulder County. Period.
Me and my wife came to boulder to visit as many craftbrewwries as possible and stumbled upon J Wells, my wife loved the chocolate stout and I thought the hop haze was really smooth, well definitely come check it out again to see how theyve been progressing
Cool little tap room with good music and beer.
Fantastic brews and in a friendly casual atmosphere. A must stop for anyone with a thirst.
Hop heads, done well! Small space busy cozy :)
Newer female server is pretty unfriendly; where is Will?
Great beer and very friendly people!
Mmmmm milk stouty goodness
My favorite small brewery in Boulder. Try the Chocolate Milk Stout.
Exciting things happening at the brewery!
Havent seen Kristina and the service has been awesome the last couple times I came in. Made up for a bad experience.
Nice, chill smaller brewery.
Pretty cool place
This place is chill and the beer is brewed well
