This store does not exist. It is closed and when you make an appointment for an online consultation with Data Drs. they dont keep it. Stay as far away from this company as you can. It is a scam.
I have always had a good experience working with the folks at Data Doctors here in Boulder. I was surprised and concerned a couple of weeks ago, and the store on Folsom St. was completely empty. I am assuming, but did not know, that work will be done over the internet on my computer if needed. Guessing I would call the same phone number to schedule an appointment if needed, but not sure. Thank you, Sandra Ingalls
The folks in Boulder always do a great job. Computer repair isn’t easy but they always do what is needed. I appreciate them and will continue working with them for all of my computer service!
Complete waste of my time. I would not trust these people with your data. When you think of companies that actually care about their customers, well they are not one of those.Response to owners review down below: Your response clearly shows your dishonesty because that is not how things happened. Shame on you. When I walked into your business after leaving work the first thing you said was that you would not be able to retrieve my data at your place and that you would have to ship it out to Phoenix for $59. You did not ask me any more questions or gather any information. You didnt even take a look at my hard drive. You never suggested to plug it in at your store. From what you communicated, that was not an option. All of this could have been communicated to me on the phone. Your approach is to get people to drive down to your place of business so you can charge them ridiculous prices. Most Data recovery places I have spoken to ship the hard drive for free to get it checked out. Please stop lying and trying to cover up your unprofessionalism in your review responses. Again, shame on you.
Great place! Very knowledgeable! I trust them to repair my computer!
Data Doctors - Ash the tech is beyond Wonderful! She set up my new computer and instructed me on how to use all its new features. Her recommendations included changing several options - which will save me hundreds of dollars in the future! Both my husband and I will use only Data Doctors as our go to source for all our future computer needs. When you find the Best (Data Doctors) as a computer source- its your lucky day!!!!
Im not sure how Stephen Jenkins got his screen repaired when this store permanently closed back in February...
Checked my computer in there over a year with a virus and they had a hard time finding it and made a special trip to my house free of charge, to see if it was my network. End of story computer better then ever I wouldnt have gone anywhere else without having them look at it first. Great pricing. Dont forget their protection service with Carbonite and micro trend. Best deal out there.
I have had my computer cleaned up many times here and have been very happy. The staff have always been very kind and helpful
Data Doctors set up my computer and there were some things I wanted changed which they gladly agreed to do. The second time around around was the charm and my new computer is loaded and ready to go.
I am eternally grateful to DD for saving some video data that I had accidentally deleted off of my new Sony digital camcorder. (Sony, by the way, was of no use.) The staff at the Boulder store--especially Ash--was efficient and friendly. It was slightly terrifying to send my brand new camera to Tempe for the recovery, but they seem to have treated it well.I would have given them an excellent, but the Tempe office was a bit disorganized.
I have gone there twice for advice on laptop issues just to get an expert opinion, and both times they tried to swindle me and charge me an absurd amount.Bottom line, they charge way to much and try to take advantage of people with a lack of computer knowledge. This was my last visit.i spilt a very small amount beer on my laptop and some of the keys didnt work.I went there to ask if its possible to fix it yourself at home by ordering a keyboard replacement, or replacing individual keys. they said I was being foolish by having it turned just one day after the spill and that i was risking more damage. They said the best decision for me would be to leave it with them to do diagnostics on it and repair the keyboard for a base pay of $250+ and i would get it back in over a week . Their answer to my first question was its possible, but you probably wont be able to find the exact match for your model, and you wont know how to make the repair, and it will void your warranty so its a bad idea . They were very rude.Later i googled the issue and found out its very easy to replace laptop keyboards. i ordered an entire replacement for only 30 bucks and it took less than 5 minutes to install. This lady was trying to charge me upwards of 250 for something i was easily able to do on my own.advice: go to your manufactures website (hp,mac,etc...) and they have instructions on removing hardware for all models. couldnt have been simpler.search for resources/help online before you pay crazy $$$$s for some stupid shop like this to rip you off
I went in to get a screen issue fixed that had my Lenovo 710s screen blacking out at random screen angles. I paid $99 for a diagnostic fee and received my laptop back without any proof that any hardware analysis was done. The issue was still present and I was told that they were UNABLE to replicate the issue, which I instantly showed for a second time on arrival from getting the call.Im updating the review because THEY DID NOTHING! The screws are in the same place exactly, etc. I removed the screen and reinserted the cable to the monitor itself and FIXED IT MYSELF. They literally lied by claiming they re-plugged the video cables. What mentally insufficient, low skill scam artists!
Not consistent with pricing. Increased the price to avoid giving me a compensation for their mistake!!I had a problem with my laptop display, and they seemed to give me a reasonable rate on the screen + labor cost of 200. They had a $25 discount coupon on their website, and I had a copy of that. While replacing the screen, he accidentally got some scratches on the screen glass and offered me a $25 discount on the labor, which was actually the coupon discount, and denied to reduce the amount any further than 25. When I persistently asked him to give me a discount on labor for the scratches, he increased the labor price from 200 to 250, and said that he already gave me a $50 discount on labor from the start.
The company was unprofessional, dishonest, and way overpriced. I made an appointment for 2pm, and arrived on time only to find the business closed with a sign indicating it would reopen in 15 minutes. I returned in 15 minutes and found the store technician assisting another customer. Thus I had to wait around until 2:40 to receive assistance when I had a 2pm appointment. The technician told me it would take him 4 hours to examine my laptop for problems, and assured me he would call me back either later that day or by noon the following business with an update. When I asked for an estimate of the cost he told me it could cost as much as $179 depending upon the problem. I did not receive a call by noon on the next business day, so I called at 1pm and was told the technician would call me back shortly. I received no callback, so I called again at 2:30, and again I was told the technician would call me back. This time the technician did call, and acted irritated as if my inquiry was pestering him. He told me that it takes 8 hours to examine my laptop (recall he told me 4 hours when I dropped it off), and he would call back at the end of the day. The technician did call back at the end of the day and stated he found 9 infections which had damaged the Windows OS, and quoted a price of $279 to fix the laptop ($100 more than the high estimate when I dropped it off). Ultimately I picked up my laptop (having paid $34 already), and took it to another shop. The only reason I picked this store was due to its proximity. I didnt want to drive all the way to Denver, but I wish I had because there is a company that will do the work for less than 1/3 the price (only $90).
Very professional and very quick service!!
Nice and honest guys at this place. I recommend them.
Went for an interview, sounded very promising. After a great interview I thought these guys would be great to work for. I was told I would be called back, never was. So over a few days I called back a few times to get information and was basically told to stop calling. They just left me hanging. If they are going to treat potential employees this way. Im sure they will treat their customers the same.Based on my personal expirence I would not recommend this company.
So this was 2 years ago, but nonetheless it happened. I just was reminded of this experience after my room mate just mentioned he went there. So I bring in my lenovo laptop that had stopped working, we try out different chargers yadadada and then realize they have to take it apart. So I keep calling, oh we still have to get to it and then eventually after over a week and a half they tell me its the motherboard and there was nothing I can do unless I got a new mobo. Well I figured due to the mobo for this model not being on the market anymore and it would be expensive to buy it from somewhere else, I would get a new laptop. So thats what I did. However, my old lenovo had two ram sticks in it and my new laptop only one, so I took one out to use in my new one. And guess what? My new laptop stops working. So I go to turn my old one on AND IT WORKS.So it was just a faulty ram stick the whole time but I paid 100 bucks to have them blow me off for a week and a half and then LIE and say its the motherboard. By sheere luck I happened to take the faulty ram stick and put it into my new laptop to find out, because otherwise I woulda never known. In a week and a half they didnt even bother checking the ram and then lied about the cause and kept my money. scumbags
Devon set the expectation that a quote or quote range for data recovery would be available upon bringing an iPhone 7 motherboard to the store. Drove all the way down from Denver to be told: Want to send out to tecs, 4-5 days for evaluation and no idea on possible cost.Take your business to iDenver, these people are clueless.
I knew my 8 year old MacBooks problem ... had researched it well ... had all the classic symptoms and the answer. Doesnt matter ... Data Docs still wanted to do a diagnostic at $99 - Kaaaching. I asked if they could get the part(s) .... and received an extremely vague answer ... like maybe/baby - maybe not. Went home .... asked my friend if he could fix it .... Yup ... $125.00 ... Easy/Peezy within less than a week .... Laptop works like a PRO again. Save your money and find a genius nearby. They are out there and closer than you think.I read your response Data Docs. You should be more consumer accommodating .... even if it means having your customer who knows what SHE WANTS sign a WAIVER. Id have signed in a heartbeat for a new inverter cable and board ..... but your vague stringent/no flex attitudes sent me out the door. Wheres the two-way in your business? Gone .... You rule and run the entire show like a pompous dictator in the free world. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? Maybe youre too young and seemingly perfect to remember what SHARING and NEGOTIATING with a potential customer entails. Im sorry I bothered you but your operation is arrogant and rude. If thats what keeps you in business, enjoy! Peggy Bashline
Patrick was great, personable & knowledgable and fixed problems easily.
I brought my Toshiba laptop 2 months ago, and they said the motherboard is dead. I asked to install a new one, and it did not work. I dont know if they want to steal my money or not till that moment! I purchase another motherboard that is working, and they installed it and claimed it does not work. After all that, I told them not to do any thing and I want my money back. They did, except for the deposit. When I went home, I thought maybe I can open my laptop and sell it as parts on Ebay or amazon. BUT THE BIG SURPRISE IS that most of the parts were stolen from my laptop, mainly, the SSD, Rams, SSD connector. I went back to the shop, and they said we dont have any of what you claimed missing. Their shop sucks, this is the first and last time to deal with them.
Poor service and wasted $-ignored complaint. I experienced a double hard drive crash with mirror drives. I took in the server and they said one had failed and the other was failing but they could rebuild the content of the failing drive. I told them I had the data backed up so the critical part that I wanted saved were the hundreds of software programs on the drive. $660+ and a week later they gave me back the server with Windows reloaded (and the data which I already had) on to 2 new drives. No software! Plus, they told me the drives were $129/drive but charged me $179/drive! Had they told me that I would only get the operating system on the new drives when they analyzed the drives I would have purchased a new server for $1000 and been up and running the next day, instead I wasted a week and a lot of money to get the old server with just the operating system and a couple of new drives.I complained and they promised to get back to me after checking with corporate but never did.
JUST WENT THERE AND BUSINESS IS CLOSED PERMANENTLY
These guys are super misleading. They require you to come in, then they give you an estimate from $60-1200 and dont even do the work there. They didnt even have a phone cord, you had to bring yours in. Gees. What a joke of a business.
Great advice and service!
Data Doctors were horrible. DO NOT go there! It was a total rip off. I felt like they took advantage of my lack of computer knowledge to completely overcharge me. When they took in my computer to Fix it they deleted essential software like Microsoft Works which created a huge hassle for me as a student. The screen resolution was all messed up when I got it back, they had no idea what the problem was and I ended up figuring out that they had put the video card back in wrong. ME! These people were complete idiots, and I could have bought an entirely new labtop with how much it ended up costing me. Do yourself and your computer a favor and dont go to data doctors.
I took my computer on Friday, they kept it until Monday, they told me it had viruses and it will take 4-5 days MORE TO remove it...I called other company the sent an it on site and it was done in 2 hours
Im on month 2 of waiting for them to repair my laptop. I came in and told them the cable that connects the monitor to the video card was damaged and needed to be replaced. We spent 15 minutes playing with it to see that that was the case. After 2 weeks they called me and and said that they think its a problem connecting the cable to the monitor and that now Id have to pay to get the cable ordered and sent to them. Then they told me that installing it wouldnt count against the $200 in labor that they spent identifying what I told them the problem was. This is a procedure that the work study students at my college routinely do in under an hour, for which they are paid minimum wage. It should not take over 5 weeks and $250 (or more because they still arent done yet). This is gross incompetence that I cannot even fathom.
Good pricing and service
Fabulous as always!
Rating themselves to raise the rating. The place is really bad
