Everyday People Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. Great food, great service, great location. If going for dinner, start with some cocktails, then go for the tuna appetizer, and I personally like the pork chop as a main. They are frequently changing / innovating their menu. I really like their wine list, some good value priced bottles, and also some nicer bottles to splurge. They also have a great brunch on Sundays, cant miss. They are GREAT at following COVID protocols.
I was very excited to try Everyday People! It however was disappointing for us. Upon arrival the sweet hostess told us we could have a drink at the bar …we ordered but our drinks never came. We saw them serve the two couples behind us but never brought our drinks. The kind hostess asked about them and mentioned to a different bartender we’d like a drink…snd she rudely said, “we’ll get to you when we can.” So we decided just to get a table and skip the bar. Our waitress was sweet and the food was very good! However, we had literally taken one of our last bites when the hostess said she needed our table and could we get our check….it was ver disappointing. We wanted another drink…but felt like we needed to leave. For the price the service and ambiance really disappointed.
This is one of two locations to grab a walking cocktail in Douglas, which is very cool. Theyre a bit understaffed at the moment, but the folks working there are doing an incredible job. Drinks were delicious, and Id have stayed got food if they had a table. Definitely worth a visit on your next trip to Douglas!!
Excellent service and delicious food. Definitely get dessert! The Key Lime pie is rich & creamy and the blueberry cobbler was like something a grandma would make.
Food was fantastic, wine was okay. My wife got the Roasted Chicken which had a fantastic garlic sauce and crispy roast potatoes. I got the Chilean Sea Bass with lemon beurre blanc which was wonderful. We each got a glass of wine, but tasted like the bottle had been open for a day or so. Maybe a cocktail would have been the better choice.
The good: great location, lovely server, fun options for non-drinkers.The not-so-good: dishes whose ingredients make no sense and are awful together (i.e. the Asian Caesar, which pairs parmesan with Japanese eel sauce and sesame seeds) or are not accurately described on the menu (the pork chop is breaded, which is unnecessary and adds nothing positive to the flavor or texture). The menu really needs an overhaul or a new chef.
My Hotwife and I have dined at Everyday People Cafe twice in the past three weeks. Both experiences were fantastic. Great food and service was spot on. Our first server Michael was pleasant and very helpful with the questions we had concerning the menu entres. Michael has been working there for ten plus years and very professional making sure we were satisfied. Tonight we had the pleasure of being served by Taylor and really enjoyed her as well! They do change their menu items every few weeks which makes it fun to try something different when we went back. Remember that when looking up their menu on line as we found it wasnt updated. They have a QR code at each table to view the menu on your phone which is a brilliant idea during this pandemic. The only slight negative was they do charge for three rolls. Yet not worth knocking off a star on their review. The cozy outdoor seating on the back patio with the lights in the trees prompted a romantic experience for us😉. Wed like to try some other establishments in Douglas/Saugatuck. However, Im certain well return to the Everyday People Cafe!

I have never had a less than satisfactory meal here from appetizers through dessert have been expertly prepared and presented. I have eaten here every time Im in Douglas and will continue doing so. I would highly recommend.
Was craving some mashed potatoes. I ordered their delicious chicken over mashed potatoes served with a tastey salad and a Hendricks, tonic with lime... hit the spot :)And its just 10 minutes from where we are staying atSaugatuck Cottage SuitesGreat hiking, great weather, and now an awesome meal at Everyday People to cap off the weekend:)
At the beginning the only plus was a nice waitresses.The Hostess had a TEMPER because we didn’t like the first place where she sat us which was the window where everyone walks in and the second spot in the back right by the loud kitchen and then we said could you move us again very policy and she signed HEAVILY and move us to the back where is very calm and nice music playing. We saw another group of three that wanted to go outside and there were a couple of open tables that had four seats instead of three but they said no. The waitress spaced out our order nicely. Outstanding warm breadReally care about there customers.Update 08/03/19: Second visit: The food is always fresh. It was amazing. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!

Bartending staff was highly skilled and very pleasant, despite a busy night. Sought-after, tasty food and drinks. Will definitely come back soon. Reservations are smart here.
Everything was good, but I feel like the portions and quality didnt really match the price. On the other hand, if youre wanting somewhere slightly less crowded and dont mind paying for it, this is a decent option.

Everyday People Cafe is a gem...hidden the town if Douglas Mi. The restaurant has an upbeat, trendy decor...and super friendly waitstaff. The Salmon and Chicken are awesome, though my favorite is the meatloaf. This is a must visit if you are in the Saugatuck area..
Was on vacation in Douglas Saugatuck area and tried twice to eat at this restaurant. First night was turned away 10 min before kitchen was closed which is ridiculously considering how many months they had no businesses during the pandemic. How can you turn away business during a pandemic ? Second night we tried we had to wait almost 2 hours for a table, just to get a table way in the back patio w tons of mosquitos bitting our legs. This place sucks.

Disappointed in the service and food. The chicken on my salad was so dry I literally choked on it. They took it off the bill so they get credit for that consideration. Last two times Ive been there have been disappointed.

Our daughter had made plans for us to have her birthday lunch at another establishment in town, but they were closed for the winter season so we decided to try Everyday People Cafe and we loved it.We were presented the brunch menu, available on the weekends, and everyone enjoyed their plates. We did not take advantage of the Unlimited Bubbles option available as an add-on price to any meal.I had the Chilaquiles Verdes, and we also sampled the EPC Burger and the American Wagyu steak sandwich. The children had the Waffles with bacon added.The bacon strips were really thick cut and cooked perfectly. The waffles were large, but very light and crispy. The syrup was absolutely amazing! I wish I could have gotten a bottle to take home.I thoroughly enjoyed the chilaquiles verdes. The eggs were sunny side up with firm but not hard yolks. The poblano green chili sauce was delicious.We informed our waitress that we were pressed for time, and she confirmed that there were no kitchen orders ahead of us even though the place was full, so we were able to get our orders and be finished in about 40 minutes. The tablecloths were covered with butcher paper and the children were given crayons to draw while we waited on our food.We still plan to come back and try the other establishment when they reopen next season, but we are super glad that we got the opportunity to try EPC!

Farm to table locally sourced food. Top- notch meal. They have happy hour from 3-5 with 25% off appetizers and drink specials. Dinner begins at 5. Our favorite place to dine!
Our experience this time around wasn’t so pleasant they sat us in the room near the kitchen and somebody had burned something unfortunately that odor had come in to the restaurant area where were you were sitting so it was unpleasant for a time.Food was delicious . Not as good as on our first visit but close.Definitely a Foodie place. A well known gem.
Usually come here once per year... Usually the service is great, but the food is average at best. Went last week and for once the food was AMAZING, unfortunately the service was as bad as the food was good. Never got my beverage I ordered. The waitress disappeared after out food was dropped off (by someone else} for half an hour or so.. had to ask someone to find her so we could pay and leave.

My favorite place to eat when I’m in the area
We had a gift certificate, part of a package deal from a local B&B. We tried to use it, and they said that it was reservations only. However, we had visited their website numerous times perusing they menu, as it is New Years Eve. On the website, and I quote, it says No reservations. However, for parties of 6 or more, you can call ahead and we will do our best to accommodate.. Nothing about reserving for New Years Eve. Please update your website for this very important information for people coming from out of town on a terrible winter day. I will say, that their food smelled delicious when we walked by the restaurant, to and from our car.
Everyday People Cafe never disappoints. The service is always great, the food is fresh and delicious and the outdoor dining experience is a treat!
My family and I visited Everyday People Cafe during their happy hour. The menu at that time isnt much, but everything looked and tasted incredible. We were also highly satisfied with the cocktails, which were delicious and definitely boozy. There are some cute stores nearby as well so you can walk around after your meal
The food was DELICIOUS and our waiter was outstanding. Wouldnt hesitate to go back. A little pricey but worth it.
We went here with another couple, and were lucky to get seated quickly, as the place was pretty busy. The place has a pretty high noise level in the front dining area, which is where the bar is. People generally wait in this area, so it is a bit close. Service was good, the have a full bar, and a nice wine selection. Prices are moderate for this area, and the food quality is excellent. The flavor of each dish is very well thought out, even the appetizer was unique and very good. We were pleased with the dinner, and the location in the downtown area. Cheers.
This used to be my absolute favorite restaurant. I bragged about it to countless people. Ive spent over 3k in the last two years here between clients and family dinners. But the last few times have been a disappointment. The food and service used to be top notch. The Burger and pork chop were the best around period. Service used to be the best Ive ever had. But the last two times the service was a joke, waiter was rude and impersonal. The last time the food was cold. I got the pork chop just like I do everytime and it was COLD! I bragged to my friends that the burger was amazing. As soon as it came out I immediately said Im sorry guys but that burger is not going to be that great, it looks like Burger King made it the cheese wasnt even melted. The best part was the dinner bread. Which is always amazing. But at one point our waiter went MIA for 30min. We all ran out of water and were extremely disappointed with how we were treated. And the place wasnt even busy!!! This place is going down hill and I hope they fix it. I own two companies and I can tell you right now. This kind of service in my businesses would warrant a very hard look at how I was managing and treating my staff. I get that good work is hard to find now days. But you have to be good at attracting talent as a business. These guys obviously arent doing it anymore.

Had the Vietnamese spring rolls with the marinated tofu option and it was amazing. The tofu marinade was tangy and spicy, tofu was super crisp, and literally everything tasted great down to the salad dressing on the side. Everyone in the group loved their meal, and Im sure wed all visit again.
Was told by our Inn Keeper to try this place and glad we did! Outstanding food! Lamb Porterhouse was excellent and the wife had the Asian Ceasar with Chicken. Both had awesome presentation and the taste matched it. Definitely will make this a regular spot.

I seriously wish I could give this place ten stars. I lived in Ann Arbor all of my life, and many moons ago I was looking for a place to vacation. Someone recommended Saugatuck to me, and said you Must eat at Every Day Peoples. God bless the person who recommended the place to me. I have never had a bad anything here. I’m a major foodie and when I spend my summers in Saugatuck it’s 1, for Every Day Peoples. 2, Its for the lovely city and beach. I’ve done a nice amount of traveling, and visits overseas. Everyday people is in my top 5 places I’ve dined. I can’t wait until I am able to spend another summer of Lake Michigan and have a great meal at one of my favorite spots again!
Don’t waste your time. Table of 9 and we were told everything from “do you need help finishing your drink” to “you are going to make me piss off the kitchen” for ordering 5 burgers. Server would only take order from the long end of the table, not easy. Food quality was poor at best, when food was ordered medium to well done, well done (or more) was the norm. It was all incredibly overdone (don’t get the bacon, it could pound a nail).

Very nice bistro in Douglas. In my opinion it is 1 of.2 restaurants that actually makes a good attempt at serving fine dining. I enjoyed the service, the simplicity of the dining room area and the quality of my dish. The polenta I ordered was not your traditional corn polenta but tasty, if you like sweet. I will definitely go back.

Both our meals were outstanding, amazing!!!My husband had the octopus special. I had the lamb porterhouse. O.MG. I would make the 3 hour drive just to have that meal again!
We come here all the time for Bubbles and Bites brunch. The food is great and the bottomless champagne combo is a great deal! The malted waffle is the best ever. But, customer service could use some work. Ive never had a waiter thats made me feel welcome.
Went on a Friday night right when they opened. There were quite a few people in line, but we were able to get a table right away. We had their Farm Board (meats, cheeses, and pickled items) it was fantastic! It also had house made crackers that were so good! For dinner we had the Seafood Linguine & the Chicken & Gnocchi. Both were absolutely outstanding. On par with the food, the service was a 10, or in this case Five Stars! Cant wait to come back.
Just as fabulous as the first year I went there over 15 years ago. Everyday People has consistently kept the quality of their food and service at the highest level, year after year. You know a place is good when you see the same wonderful staff year in and year out and each staple dish is just as good as you remembered it and anything new youve had make you want to come back for more.Bravo!!! Past visits the food and service was good. However the chicken I ordered this time was under cooked. My wife ordered the pork chop but that was dry and tough. Service is still good. Restaurant may have new chefs. Hopefully, food will get better.
Had the best little fish plate there. Everything we ate was super tasty. It was easy to find and parking wasnt a problem. Our server was really great he answered all our questions about food and made some great recommendations. Outstanding.

I was referred to this place by a good friend. We walked in and were seated. We then waited for half an hour for someone to greet us and ask what we wanted to drink. We ended up leaving because we werent acknowledged. We will never be back.

Our server James was excellent. Attentive, knowledgeable and polite. Food was awesome and delicious. We did have to wait over an hour to be seated but it was well worth the wait.
Excellent ambiance and service. Food was well constructed and balanced, service was prompt and efficient, and the design of the restaurant was beautiful. A bit of a wait Sunday morning, but we went up the road for a coffee and ended in perfect time to get our table :) Highly recommend.
Not a very welcoming, friendly place (especially being in a high summer tourist area). The food was just ok, nothing great. Atmosphere was cold and quiet.
A little bit unorganized. Not enough staff for a holiday weekend. Food was good but not sure that the whole experience was worth 2 1/2 hours between the wait time and very slow service. In their defense they did take all our drinks off our bill because of some mistakes with our orders.
Delicious food, no wait and they had crayons for my daughter to color on the butcher paper topped table. Our waiter was fantastic- very prompt and knowledgeable. I had the gnocchi and my husband had the chicken fried steak, both were amazing! We will be back!
NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR PEOPLE OF COLORThis restaurant was highly recommended to me, the reception was a real disappointment. When we walked in, the owner of the restaurant rushed over to the host us, backed us and began muttering furiously. The host stood shocked for a moment and then look as us with a very embarrassed expression on her face. Without asking us where we would like to sit, she took us through front dining room, through the back dining room, all the way to the small table in the back corner of the restaurant (past several open spots). I thought for a second she was going to try to put us outside on the patio, away from all the other guests! I believe had it been warmer, she would have.It is possible that there was some sort of seating issue (needing to give a server more customers or some such), but if that was the case, then the situation was tactlessly handled. My mother and I both felt nastily treated. We decided to leave without eating - it was our vacation, after all, and we didnt want to spend any of it fighting for our personal dignity.Considering the price point of the menu items and its respectable reputation, I expected much more friendly and professional customer service.
This is a great restaurant! The food is excellent, great menu. The service is outstanding too. You wont be disappointed!
