Easily the best hangout spot in town! A large selection of beer and games to keep everyone entertained and a sweet rooftop patio with heater for a chilly night, like weve had while our visit there. The bathroom is set up very cool and the decorations are like of a art studio. There is food for those that would like a grub but is purchased separately from the beers. The watering station was one of the coolest Ive seen this far! One spout for normal water and a spout for sparkling. This place kept me entertained to the max. Highly recommend!
Im from Utah, and I seriously loved this place. You order beer from one desk, and from a different you order your food. I loved the choices of beer that was local or around the US. They were awesome. My absolute favorite was the TACOS! OH MY GOD! I had the fish tacos and spicy pork tacos, and they were all super good. Mind was blown! Loved this place.
Dont come here if youre hungry.Cool spot with a great beer selection and sweet rooftop patio, but they dont offer any food! The bartender suggested I stand in line at the overpriced taco/burrito place next door(the line was about 20 people long, and moving slowly.) I could see it being easier to grab a meal during slow hours but definitely not a choice destination for hungry beer lovers when its busy.It would be an awesome place if people could order food through the bar/sanctuary
My favorite place I visited in Bozeman! I was visiting from Florida and they had an awesome tap list of beers and breweries that were all new to me and Mary was fantastic behind the bar. Definitely the kind of place I’d love to hang out at if I lived in the area.
I was feeling adventurous so I asked the bartender what her favorite was of the day and let me tell you when she handed me the Noble I was not prepared for the light flavorful aroma that saturated every taste bud. Dudes in 3 piece suits drink here or if your like myself, skate attire is also appropriate.
Decent selection of beers for Bozeman. Fantastic service and mediocre, wannabe, street tacos up front.Enjoy the visit. Great open seating out front, upstairs patio, and so far they have been pretty dog friendly if they are kept outside in the seating area.
Really impressed with the entire layout of this place. So smoothly ran, amazing food and drinks. Dont skip on this spot!
Travis was absolutely fabulous!! He was very friendly, welcoming, helpful and generous. A true beer aficionado and worth a revisit the next time we’re in Montana! Must see. Great selections of Stout, IPA, wheat selections!!
Shine is incredible!! The bartenders, especially Avery was so knowledgeable and so incredible to talk to. We loved sitting there and having a drink with them and learning more about Bozeman! Will absolutely come back soon!
The look is all new but the laid back character remains. Just enough visual cues held over from The Garage to let long-time patrons feel right at home. The menu by LaPa is a fresh change, with a few former dishes added in. Im glad to have it open again and will be back with the family on our frequent schedule.
Amazing beer list! The staff was very friendly. There is also amble seating, amazing smelling food, and nonalcoholic options so you can bring the family! They have games in the back that kids would love!!!!
Very nice selection of beer and cider. Staff was friendly and helpful. Colocated with Lapa so food is also available on site. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Great spot for a late lunch with the family. Grabbed a couple pints, some tacos and played some games. Even took a growler home. I like the variety of spaces to sit and staff was friendly.
Oh my gosh is Shine great! The beer was exceptional and the burrito was fantastic! 5/5 would eat again!
Delicious chips and salsa with Buffalo Gypsy Bowl from Lapa Grill. Nice flight of sour beers from Shine. All of the staff was extremely friendly. The server at Shine was knowledgeable of the beer options and provided several small tastings for my 4th selection. The upstairs deck is a nice place to hang out on a sunny Montana day.
So many choices! This place is great! I was in town for a boys weekend, and stopped in here for dinner and a brew. The selection of high quality beer was Amazing 👌 The staff were very knowledgeable and the food was great! I highly recommend stopping here and having a beer or 3. You wont be disappointed.
Great selection of beer with knowledgeable bartenders to help navigate it. Very unique setting and some fantastic food within the same venue - would highly recommend!
I have to say I’m always skeptical when I see these doing reviews for months and months ago. Why can’t they put current reviews. As with the other five star reviews the place is pretty cool. The burrito/soup place is absolutely delicious. Great value great vibe and great food. I got the salmon Burrito. Everything is fresh they make it right there tons of people working in there lots of turnover it’s just really good.22 beers on tap gigantic clean tables, and there’s also sound/deading so it’s not so loud. Everybody was pretty relaxed and chill. And overall 10 I’ll give the place. 100% I’ll be back.Thank you for staying in business during these difficult times. I hope you guys make it because your food is really really good and a great staff to. Best of luck.
The staff are so knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Theres always something new and amazing on tap, and if you cant find something in the Bottle Shop that strikes your fancy? Well...there might be something wrong with you.
The sweetest, most patient and fun staff! We had a little spill and they came and cleaned up immediately with a smile and brought a fresh beer and a clean mask! Love this place !
Great atmosphere, so much space, fun games/books, and beer choices will never fail to disappoint! Many great items on the food list as well. Spend a great amount of time here and I am never dissatisfied. Top hangout spot in Bozeman for food/beer. And open later than the breweries!
I walked upstairs to the rooftop patio only to find out the bar was closed… no sign at the bottom of the stairs! How much effort does it take to post a sign at the bottom of the stairs?
The best thing about Shrine is that it shares a building with the legendary local burrito joint La Parilla. The bottle shop is pretty nifty and surprisingly affordable. But the beers on tap are WAY overpriced. In a town packed with local breweries serving $3 or $4 pints of top-notch craft ale, why would you go to Shine and pay $8 a pint for the same out of state beer you could buy at Safeway for $8 a six-pack?For me the answer is easy: La Parilla.
Awesome place, and dog friendly front patio!
Excellent mix of brews, some places are a bit IPA heavy for my taste.
Amazing Customer Service! Fast Order, Affordable prices!
First time in, to Lapa Grill, and we will come in again when in the area! We got the Salmon dish. It had spinach and rice with just the right amount of seasonings. The place was clean. I thought the way they set up the restroom area was very unique. Love the staff. One of them was jamming to the music as he worked.
Fantastic, great beer selection. Great food
Delicious beer, incredibly friendly servers, relaxed atmosphere and games. This place is amazing. Also there is a bottle shop with local brews.
What a perfect place to try some great beers like LOVE BUBBLES or FOUNDERS NITRO CBS (2019) . If you have the munchies, there is a good assortment of food at the LAPA GRILL which is connected to the sanctuary. Atmosphere is perfect with board games and mini skeet ball and shuffle board. Service is great and staff super friendly and knowledgeable. 😃
Best wraps in Bozeman. I used to work there when I was in college. Great combinations. Flavorful zesty with lots of spicy options. Wish they wouldn’t microwave prawns but that’s my only very minor issue. I’m just in a camp of don’t microwave seafood. Still... great wraps. I’ll go best in Montana. Okay, I’ll go best in the northwest.Bravo
The Pork Chili Verde was very good. Great selection on tap. Nicely decorated.
They produce the most noteworthy nachos in the darling downtown Bozeman, accompanied by bangin’ beers.
Great atmosphere and beer selection. Nice clean bathrooms.
Awesome dog-friendly spot. Casual, friendly vibe. Lots of seat-yourself outdoor seating. Great options for beer and delicious bites. We loved it and will definitely visit again.
Great place! plenty of room to drink tasty beers and enjoy some tacos with family/friends
Was very pleasantly surprised at this place. Have been searching for great burritos since I moved to Montana and finally found them. Service was awesome, beer selection was great, food was super good & the place itself is sweet! Definitely my new bozeman go-to!
Food is ready good.
Definately a college hangout and still fun.
Tacos and Soup are both a hit. Love the street tacos from La Parrilla and the soup is delicious. Only complaint is the pricing for soup, not much bang for your buck.
Shine would be my favorite place get a beer regardless of food, but they made me a very happy boy by combining with my favorite burrito shop. Shine has become my weekly (or multi-weekly) habit since they opened. They have a constant rotation & the best selection on tap in town plus the bottle shop has amazing finds.
Walked in the door to masked smiles and kind words. Food to die for and beer choices as far as the eye can see! From out of town but come to Bozeman often. Will be back!!
This place has the best beer selection in town. The food I’ve had from La Pa, in the same big room, is just as good as it was at the old location. The soup from the soup shack has also been good. There is also quite a bit of outdoor seating. This is a tremendous upgrade from the Garage and Bozeman is lucky to have it!
I spend a good amount of time talking with the owner (while I was probably inebriated). She seemed very open to constructive criticism as well as what customers wanted/were looking for. While I didn’t enjoy the food, their beer selection is abundant and hard to choose from! Just my interaction with the owner herself is enough to give this place five stars, the service was incredible, and so very friendly. If you’re looking for a good place to have a beer with some friends, I would recommend SHINE!
Nice selection of local and out of state craft beers. Outdoor seating upstairs and in front reminds me of Chicago bars, but way better views. One of my favorite places to end night.
Admittedly I have found what I like and I dont stray too far into the rest of the menu (Wrap of Khan is UNREAL), but my husband says the rest of the burritos are bomb, too! A great way to get delicious burritos and support local at the same time.
This place is chipotle with ok beer. Garage was one of my favorites won’t be back.
Kind of a lame spot.
Big fan of Shine I love the beer, the food, the atmosphere everything. However, when I was there last week I came across something that I was not a fan of. One of the employees (maybe the manager?) was chewing out another employee at the bar quite loudly. Super unprofessional in my opinion, to do that in front of customers and other employees. I cant say I am impressed with how that was handled.
I have been going here for years and love it! I still do but when I got my burrito tonight there was a hair in it. Id normally go back but since I got it to go and was already home was un able to!The new restaurant does look very nice though! And Ill definitely return
Went here for the first time with my husband, and we both ordered the Buffalo Gypsy burrito to-go. When we got home and started eating them, we realized the burritos had some sort of weird blue cheese/wasabi sauce, which was NOT advertised on the menu. It was honestly pretty gross and we arent picky. Not sure if it was a mistake or if its supposed to be that bad. Either way, we were pretty disappointed. The worst burrito weve ever had.
The burritos, as well as chips and queso, were delicious! Quick and easy ordering, lovely atmosphere with the garage doors opened, and great social distancing protocols! The beer was also a great addition to the mood and meal.
Arrived for lunch and everyone was totally stressed and unorganized. None of the soups or meats were hot. Ordered and paid for soup and waited 15 minutes and still not hot. Ate our burritos was done with lunch and cancelled the soup order as it was still not ready. When the lady in back trying to heat the soups was told that the order was being refunded, she replied, “that’s better anyway.” Nope, won’t be back. Used to love the Garage.
Walking into this tiny little burrito shack, you would never know that these are THE BEST BURRITOS EVER!!! I love that they do different themed ones too, like a thai themed burrito! For whatever reason the website on google maps in incorrect so dont follow that. hopefully they get that updated soon. Other than that it was great! The service was fast and friendly and their prices are great for the amount of food that you get!
Happy to see SHINE open in full swing last night, Ive been in a couple of times for lunch, decided to give it a try with out of town guests last night. We werent super impressed with the food and heres why...apart from the soup everything was mediocre. We ordered a blackened salmon bowl, described as having cilantro lime rice, a vinaigrette and a sun-dried tomato spread. Sounds amazing right? I was asked if I wanted anything more on it, I asked if everything that was on the menu description was on it, answer was yes so I opted not to add anything. But it was without the Cilantro Lime Rice and the Vinaigrette and only had a small amt of Spinach. I went back to see if I could get the rice on the side and was told, We dont have that tonight. I think the real issue with SHINE is the food service concept, the line was long, one person was getting my long order while others were just standing there, the team behind the counter doesnt seem to click or care about managing the line of customers. I look at this place as 3/4 Beer and 1/4 food...if you want to be primarily a Beer hall then make this food service easier and quicker, give people a number and deliver the food to tables. Its not like I wont be back for the Pork Chile Verde soup, hopefully they will make some tweaks to food service.
This is truly an alternative dining experience- food is great and overall highly reccommended.
We didn’t try the food, but had some great beers on the roof patio and the staff were awesome!
Made a quick pit stop in Bozeman and was super impressed with the unique variety of food here. The Blackout Bayou wrap was really great and the service was quick and friendly!
Love the creative bowls/burritos! We tried the Bombay Bomburrito and Wrap of Khan as bowls and they were amazing!
Pretty alright for a rice burrito.
LaPa is my absolute favorite place to eat in Bozeman! The blackened salmon burrito is extremely flavorful, the portions are huge, and the service is second-to-none. The downtown location makes La Parilla a must stop! Enjoy!!!
I love their fish tacos and their rice sides. I try to recreate their rice at home but I cant do it so I have to come here for it. Beans, black, excellent also, I think they are salty and I like that.
Now that they are paired with the beer bar and have some of the best seating in town its hard to beat the overall experience. Love it.
Great selection and very chill atmosphere. One of the most unique places in Bozeman.
Ate here last night. The best way I can describe it is that Its basically chipotle with unique flavor combinations. Quality is basically the same as chipotle, and the tortillas seem to be the exact same. Even the guacamole tastes very similar as does the rice. The stand out is the combination of Asian and Mexican. Worth checking out If youre food adventurous.
I have eaten at LaPa since they first opened-and I still love them- BUT since they made their move to Main street the wraps are small and the flow is odd and slow. The food is still good. I will give them a third try on Main but it’s way more of a hassle.
I am not one to write reviews on both yelp and google but honestly when it comes to the food this place is lacking HARD. The beer was good... but the food was a huge disappointment.
This is my happy place. Great and ever changing beer selection and super tasty food.
Awesome food Awesome staff Just AWESOME!!
Good food, good prices. Def a locals place and popular with the college kids. Interesting menu with lots of unique option and suggested burritos. Located in a former house in a residential area so you would have to know its there to go. Might go again....
Underwhelmed by fish tacos. Tiny piece of fish, mainly cabbage. Not worth it. Could be good, but its not. edit: thanks for the response, flavors were great, just needs more fish! Ill be back to try again.
Very diverse menu with healthy and fresh ingredients. Quick service even when busy and a great value. Staff is always friendly. Tons of choices that even the pickiest eater will like. La Pa is often imitated but never duplicated.
My husband and I have enjoyed going to Lapa for 15 years. We have gone to the new location 4 times and it has gotten worse each time. Today, my soup had a hair in it and the fish in my husband’s burrito was raw. Very disappointing. We won’t be back.
The beer selection here is outstanding and they change it up so it never gets boring. I like that this is the kind of place that lets you have a sample taste before you go for the pour. The attached LaPa Grill and Soup Shack is happily busy, but the service is expeditious, so its a perfect spot for a quick bite and a brew if youre in downtown Bozeman. While I miss the old Garage a bit, this place is open, vibrant, and you wont have to drop an arm and a leg to get some nosh. Its fast becoming a three-times-a-week habit.
LaPa and beer what a combo!
Really great beer lineup and super chill vibe at this place. Bozeman beer lovers finally have a place to find variety from Montana and beyond. Im excited to see what the bottle shop brings in too!
Great food options served quickly and in larger portions to fill you up. My wife and I enjoy the salmon salad with wasabi sauce and my sons and daughter like chicken or steak salads. The prices are excellent for the portions served, either to dine there or to take out. My restaurant of choice when Im in a hurry or dont have time for a long, leisurely meal with family or friends.
Great beer selection, friendly staff, cool seating, and the best bathroom set up
I dont think Ive ever written a review for anything online, but feel compelled to let the owners know they have a lot of work to do. Im a 19yr patron of the coolest little restaurant in town...until now. Ive been to the new location twice now and had the same experience. Slow line, excruciatingly inexperienced employees, and the worst is the quality of the food. My last experience on 2-28-20, Chicken Khan house style..should be easy. No corn salsa, no wasabe sauce, peanut sauce on only half the burrito and you better check the rice for the top of the salt shaker, because its gone and all the salt was in the rice. I seriously couldnt even finish it. Im sure because of the brewery adjoining it, it will continue to plod along in a great location, but the real La Parilla is dead. RIP LaPa. Hopefully the Garage will fare better in a more obscure location.
Food is good quality but prices are way more expensive and final cost is hidden on the menu. Spent $32 on two soups and they were gracious enough to give me one whole chibatta roll. Walked away with $15 burritos last week. Like most other self checkout POS systems they have it default to guilting you into leaving a tip. Not tipping for pouring soup guys! Wont be coming back, cant afford to.edit: Thanks for the reply. To clarify for anyone else reading went to look at my bank statement and my total for two takeout burritos including a tip came to $28.75 for a quick takeout lunch. There is another place down the street that serves 32oz homemade organic soups for $9.50, pays their staff a livable wage and I dont get hassled to leave a tip. If you can afford $16 + tip for take out soup it is homemade and pretty good.
Always delicious! Buffalo Gypsy for me and the husband thinks the Blackwater is killer. Pro-tip: know what you want before you get to the counter! If you dont know, let those behind you go ahead. Its faster for everyone, especially during the lunch hour.
Employees were helpful and friendly and my meal was very tasty!!!
Best place in town for soup, beer, sandwiches and the atmosphere. Highly recommend
Best of the local burrito places. A ridiculous amount of options (pasta burrito!?), really chill atmosphere and staff, and its pretty centrally located yet still very hole-in-the-wall. Get The Stash ©, but respect it and heed their warnings.
Had rude service and rushed me to make my order. The staff had lots of eye rolls and sighs.
Good and interesting food. Good for take out or lunch. The jambalaya burrito is awesome and super spicy. Also delivers through Uber eats.
The veggie options for the food are very average. Cold tacos, burritos with ingredients that don’t go together, room for improvement in my opinion
