This review is for the kitchen at the back of the store. Ive been going regularly to have their appetizers which were really good. But recently they started selling at least 3 days old food even after knowing that we are regular customers, they dont care for customer satisfaction at all. I had to throw away for the last couple of times, also found out that they touch the food with bare hands and literally no hygiene. You definitely shouldnt eat at this place, today you may be OK, but tomorrow you might fall sick or poison yourself. So beware everyone!
A great store to explore for Indian groceries and all other stuffs. You can find almost all Indian brands for all products. Prices are very reasonable. They also sell cooked Indian foods. I never tasted yet. But I see lot of people to buy dishes. Fishes and goat meat are also available. The sell young goat meat.
Good place for Indian groceries. They are expanding and it would be nice if they offer some kind of deals. I never seen anything here and it would always makes customers happy when they can get offers or discounts.
These guys are really unfair and too much commercial towards any regular customers. I taken one of the four instead of its same type grains mistakenly and realized after reaching home and went back to return within hrs of purchasing those items but they refused to take it back. I really frustrated with their behavior and the way that treat customers like this. Goodbye Desi market. I never ever visit this store again.
Can find almost every Indian groceries, very much helpful for Indian people
They are expanding the space so that will give customers more space
Good place to get most Indian groceries.
A good place to shop for Indian food
I got a 4 Nepali raw noodles I eat two of them and next day I’m not feeling well and I got a vomiting, then I check the expired date on noodles packed I saw it was already expired on 21sep 2020 but they are still selling those noodles I can’t believe . So I’m gonna sue them soon . Be careful people .
The food was nice. I liked the customer service. I wouldnt rate it 5 stars it wasnt best. But overall its good!
Need more selection but a good shop
Good selection of products, but ridiculous pricing during pandemic lately.Their mark up keeps increasing every few weeks it seems. One can compare Apna bazaar and shiva bazaar pricing w this place and you know a huge difference.Dont fleece money from customers, because you are the only big store catering to Quincy/ braintree area.
I would like to recommend the food from the restaurant that’s located inside this market. They have one of the best Indian food in the Boston area. Chicken 65, Butter Chicken and Tandoori Naan is a must try! Enjoy :)
Good choices
Awesome food, especially the Samosas from the kitchen
Great grocery store ...can find everything on the list.
Great place in Quincy to get good chapatis that you don’t have to freeze, fresh vegetables and especially the a wide range of Indian brands in Masalas, Biscuits, Snacks! Thankful 🙌🏼
A variety of groceries to select within economical rates. The owner is very welcoming and takes care of his customers.
You get best mutton here
I wish I could rate zero star. It’s basically a fraud store. Store Manager and one of the staff are arrogant doesnt know how to behave with the customer. They will charge you twice for one item and when you go back to store to fix the discrepancy, they argue with you. Very Unfriendly staff. I wish we had older management. On top of that prices are exorbitant. I would not recommend this store to anyone.
Fresh Vegetables compare to previous owner. And now I don’t need to drive 25 mins for Apna bazaar. Its good, we have desi store in the nearby town.
Great Collection, for the size of it. Get your Desi fix
Has really improved over the years. Now I come back with most of the items on my list.
It was better than any other Indian store in Boston or its vicinity
It has improved a lot from its previous owner. It now has a variety of things and they are continuously thriving for betterment. Special mention about Kesharji for going beyond to help Customers.
Sells near expiry/expired frozen product and doesnt replace or refund.bad and arrogant behavior owner. filed and USDA FSIS(Food Safety and Inspection service) official complaint today. Not suggested to visit and beware and check dates on everything before buying. there are many better indian store near by suggested to visit than this.Such a liar, he clearly denied to replace or refund.i wanted to replace only if you would have replaced this, there would have been no issue and problem solved.also attaching the expiry date of product. i bought this July 22 and Expiry date is 2020/08/05. attaching the image as well, i will drag you to the court misinterpreting fact and giving wrong info.
Exorbitant double pricing of Indian grocery.Go only if you must.Aashirvaad atta for example is sold for 12.99 while apna bazaar sells it for 8.99This IS NOTHING SHORT OF DAYLIGHT ROBBERY.IN TIMES OF COVID, THE NARROW AISLES OF THE STORE ARE DANGEROUS AND STORE EMPLOYEES ROAM AROUND THE STORE WHILE CUSTOMERS SHOP.PATHETIC. STAY AWAY.
Lot of Indian stuff you can find in this place. But be sure to check few items, sometimes you might see an expired item.
They added many new items, including frothen fish, they have fresh produce at great prices, Indian, Pakistani, Arabic food and spices, at much better prices than your local grocery stores International food isle. They have fresh meat and chicken, definitely a place to visit if you are looking for something to spice up your palate or just try something new
Awesome place and people, great service, fresh vegetables, I love and enjoy their takeout delicious food. They always have fresh meat.Very reasonable prices. We highly recommend this South shore Desi Market.
The prices of vegetables and other items are increased where as quality is same as before. If the prices are back to normal then only we can visit the store again!
Amazing place to buy halal food. Also they have variety of Indian food. Service is amazing. I enjoy going their for my groceries.
My meat & veggie shop i wish it is more cut by order, even though its fresh. They need better Drinks collection
Great market for fresh herbs and veggies. Great low prices better than super markets.Kitchen for take out indian foods. Ask for menu
Indian store in Quincy, reasonable price, a one stop shop for vegetables and groceries..
So far had very good experience with it. I will rate 5/5 when I consider availability of Indian groceries. One of the best in Quincy. But be careful when you buy stuff here. I bought 3 coconuts from them a week ago and found that one was rotten and the other was in bad condition. Reported them with a picture and the bill. They said they cannot return for coconuts and said sorry. I will not buy such stuff like coconuts from there again. Otherwise thats a good place.
It is a fraud store. The weight in the meat section is atrociously incorrect. They add around .7 lbs to the actual weight. I bought organic chicken and its weight was 1.7 lbs but in the bill it was mentioned as 2.4 lbs. Normally we would not be knowing it. But this time there was no pre packed meat, so he cut and weighed before packing and at that time he added a stone. When asked he says it is wastage and he said they will add this stone for any size bird. For 1.7 lbs, 0.7 lbs is 41% wastage. How would a customer know if it was already packed with an incorrect weight put on it.This is Cheating. They can say each lb is a few dollars more and put the right weight.Management should look into this.
I wish I could rate zero star.I dont understand why these guys dont trash the meat when it starts smelling not sure why do they even sell it to customers. It happened twice to me and I am not visiting this store any more.
Good variety of Indian groceries.
Amazing you can count on this store for all halal meat and other stuff recommend it AMAZING
Beware of person at meat section, While giving me fish in packet he smartly put his mask down coughed on his hand and robbed on the plastic bag I noticed but did not say at face as I was afraid if he has virus he can cough at me . However later I called and informed .They can confirm if they have cctv recording . In general I want to say in public be very sure and on your toes.
The Management has Changed. They are really good and taking more care about the customers.Every week they are refilling new products and fresh vegetables are available every time.
This is a pretty good local market where you get Indian goods. lots of unique spices that you cannot get at the regular supermarkets like Stop & Shop or Shaws. The customer service was very friendly. I didnt know there were different brands of basmati rice! 🍚🍚🍚 If you are into cooking goat, they sell that here! Also theres a lot of frozen Indian food. If theres an Indian dish you want to cook from the internet, you can definitely get the ingredients here!
Fresh produce and good food
The new guy in the meat section is the worst. I took 3 pounds of mutton literally all of them are bones. Costed me 27$. The old guy was really good this new guy is worst. Management should consider this.
Nice Indian and Pakistani grocery store. Many varieties of items. Isles are narrow so can have many items.
I am a regular at this store for over 10 years. Used to be very well stocked and the owners family is very helpful in finding things. Their prepared food is very good too.But that is until few months ago. Now it seems the owner couple are the only ones around. Their shelfs are always empty, seem to be either in the middle of restocking or repairs.Still, their vegetable options are good. Owner couple has this sullen face always like they are angry always..a little smile when around would be nice.
Fresh veggies and fruits
A fraud store. The Manager and the butcher are arrogant doesnt know how to behave with the customer. They are becoming one of the reputed stale meat seller. Good luck!!
Nice placeVegetables are fresh. Halaal meat is also fresh . Average rates.
Desi Market, is a awesome place to shop.for Indian spices etc. theyve a fantastic staff there waiting to help you find all that youre looking forand the hot meals are so good and spicy my family, loved it and I didnt have to cook .
Very helpful staff and very well stocked grocery store for Indian food!
WORST STORE IVE EVER BEEN TO! Im not even exaggerating. I bought henna cones for my WEDDING and they were all dry. It ruined my wedding. And they gave me a refund for ONLY half of the cones I bought. Even after showing them the proof. The store manager is RUDE. They just lost my business and recommendations over A FEW BUCKS. It ruined my wedding!! Id give it ZERO stars if I could. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!
Its really good, you will find almost all indian groceries, more vegetables option, staffs are good...
They have fresh meat, fresh chicken ( daily every week ) specially indian,Pakistani grocery and view items middle east grocery with good price better than others store.
The rates are bit higher as compared to other Indian stores like Apna Bazar. Also they wont accept returns easily. I tried returning a product once and had to argue with them for more than 10 mins.
Much better since recent management change. Lot more varieties and items on the shelf now. Could improve the vegetable section..
Good one. If you want fresh vegetables then you need to come here on Wednesday. You will get sweets like jilebi and laddu here.
Indian grocery store covering food items.. I was expecting big collection like the some shops in NJ but it was not that big and have decent coverage of essential items..
Can find things easily, and the employees are amazing and help in any way.
Good store for your Indian cooking needs. Love the fact that you get fresh meat here, unlike the frozen ones you get else where!!
Come here if there is absolutely no way u can go to Waltham. Better than other Indian shops around this area in terms of quality and price. This cannot beat the mecca of Indian shops Waltham at variety, quality and price.
Best Mutton and Chicken!!
Very good for Indian groceries than any other store in and around Quincy...
They have almost everything and very strategically located near Faxon Commons
Its an okay store. you dont get everything but most of the things are there on the shelves. Important thing you need to do here is, check the expiry date, as i forgot to do so and some of the items were already expired and i could not use it anymore. sometimes the stock is not available need to wait till it comes by.so if its something specific you want, then call up and check for it before you go like dosa batter or plain yogurt etc. I usually search for smaller packs of certain brand which is not available sometimes like rice, wheat.. but bulk items are available. snacks at the back rack just check through before you buy.
Not a very big store but can visit if some essential Indian stuffs are required.
Best selection of spices for Indian (and other cuisine) cooking at the best price. Love to pick up a treat while Im there.
A good place to get lamb or goat meat.Beyond this the store is in very average condition and does not have variety in all other grocery items.
Great one stop store for all desi food items irrespective of Vegetables, Fruits, Diary, Grains etc...
Good Indian store. But very small with less items available. The meat lovers can get good meat here.
Descent varieties and reasonable prices makes it easier for localites. Kitchen and meats options are good too.
Less groceries, fair amount of vegetables, would only prefer if I have no other option. Not the best place to shop for groceries. I would rather go to Norwood or other places to get groceries than visiting this place again. One there is less variety of items and two half of the shelf’s are empty. Note: waste of money/time traveling
Good Indian grocery store. Meat, Indian food, Indian grocery and vegetables
The owners of this store changed a few months back and they have improved the quality of store. It is now well maintained and organized.
Always love the place for my Indian supplies make sure you try the samosas
First off, it is nearby. It is not a chain like Patel Bros. The people are always helpful and friendly. Shelves do not always look full and sometimes things look in a bit of disarray but the prices are good.
Everything is costly than other Indian grocery stores. Though the labels say use by date in future, when the food is unpacked and tasted, it smells rats and tastes like yuck. Unfortunately it is only store nearby for Indian grocery, otherwise Apna Bazaar or Patel Brothers are always better choices.
Nice place to get Indian groceries. Although they may not have a lot of vegetables...
Its been progressively improving since the change in ownership a year ago approximately.. they have a limited space but the owner seems to be trying to maximize the space utilization by organizing stuff well.. overall this small shop is now trying look like some of the other bigger desi markets in boston area.. they also have a kitchen for meats and I know a few people who are regulars to that meat section.. the overall variety and levels of stock are gradually increasing .. this shop is definitely worth a trip for all essential weekly groceries.. the only downside which again is common for most indian outlets is that the veggies are not as fresh as you want em .. and also I have had couple of bad experiences with their frozen / diary products, i guess the diary products were not in refrigerated condition in transit & now the smell / taste wasnt normal.. so be careful with your frozen food purchases.. !
They have a good selection of spices and mixes, but a terrible, terrible selection of premade meals (like TastyBite™ or Ashoka™. They carry a bunch of strange brands, sooner made in India, but not all. I would say this place has gone down in quality over the last five years.
They are still setting up - but the staff was super helpful and attentive.
This is a boon for all the people around Quincy /Weymouth looking for Indian groceries and daily needs. They have fresh vegetables and produce, dals, pulses, rice varieties, frozen parathas and chapattis/rotis of various varieties, bengali sweets, a whole Isle of different snack varieties etc..
Always out of stuff. And they lie about it. They always say that they have it without checking and then it is waste of time driving there.
I would like to give less than one star but its not there. I bought tilda rice which is smelling so bad so i would like to return andspoke with the guys who are in the store and with the manager that i throw the bill but they said i can return. So next week i went with the bag and there is a guy called Kasar who is so mean and no manners and rejected with an argument. I recommend not to to go t that store and i never go that is the worst experience with an racist guy in Indian store ever.
Prices are still high..they need to bring up many varieties... Vegetables are fine
Stock of Indian items are just adequate. Also no looks a little disorganized.
Okay place, thrives as it doesnt have much competition in the area, and over priced, with suspect quality.
You can find betting Indian groceries, I get my lebanese coffee, tahini...They also have fresh lebanese bread every Friday! I recently started shopping their produce, best deal in the area
Good location stuff are nice and alot nice Indian cocking staff are friendly
The best place to do your shopping.
Have fresh Indian veggies, spices and grocery. Plenty of varieties. Well conneted by 225 bus and car. Best Indian food store in Quincy area.
U can get most of the Indian groceries but pricy. If you have bulk needs like monthly purchase for family go to Waltham or Norwood
People are good but the prices are very high as compared to other asian store. They just raised the prices so high because there is no other asian store close by.
Earlier this place was good but now they dont have much items and no more fresh veg
