In any dealings I have with people their word and handshake is important. It is a true measure of ones honesty and integrity. It means something.Everyone I worked with at Brattleboro Subaru was professional, and personable in all aspects of my used truck purchase and trade in process. I have dealt with a good number of dealerships over the years and this was a top flight experience. My confidence in a transaction comes from my perception of transparency and honesty during the sales process. I had confidence with Dan and everyone at Brattleboro Subaru. When it came time for the inspection sticker on the new to me truck some things turned up needing attention. I was shown the list and associated costs. Rather than performing minimal service to legally satisfy the state inspection they did everything, with out question, without discussion, without hesitation, without be asked.In the few days before I came to Brattleboro Subaru I worked with a larger dealer in another part of the state. While the people seemed good, they were reluctant to honor details of our sales agreement. The truck needed a new inspection sticker. It was glaringly obvious from the moment I first looked at the truck, and the salesman agreed, the brakes on all 4 wheels needed replacing. Part of my agreement with the salesman and sales manager was they would do a complete brake job. We spoke of this repeatedly, they agreed and shook on this. Then I get a call telling me the truck passed inspection, it doesnt need brakes today, so thats it come get it and wouldnt acknowledge our repeated discussions and agreement. I cancelled the deal. Suddenly the dealer was were more than willing to do the brakes and asked what other considerations I wanted to keep the deal. I resisted the pressure and ran rather than walked away.As an anecdote, over the years I did a lot of sales training for the sales people of companies that represented the company I worked for. I would always open a session with 2 questions. The first was, when you think of a sales person what do you think of? Their answers were always negative, referencing car and insurance sales experiences. My second question then was, so what makes you different? The folks at Brattleboro Subaru get it.
Rachael, Luke and Jason were all very helpful during my search for a unicorn; a manual trans Subaru. They received my business because they did not pressure me about dropping the 6 speed, and tried to locate the color car that I wanted during a national lack of inventory. I received a more than fair trade in for my previous vehicle as well. Very happy with the new car, and overall experience.
The car they showed us had Been taken in on trade the previous evening and due to the labor shortage the staff had not yet had time to do all the usual necessities to make the car showing worthy. They have since apologized for their shorthandedness and the state of the vehicle shown.All together the staff was wonderful. Though a little intense understandably salesman got to sell because car dealerships generally pay in commission instead of actually paying their workers a living wage.One star removed for the state of the vehicle and excessive but not abnormal for the usa general capitalism.WILL visit again if not for a car at least to browse the selection (when capitalism deems me Worthy enough to afford a different vehicle than my current one of course. Lol)

This individual was argumentative and unprofessional, further confirming my initial unsatisfactory rating.Though the initial salesman I spoke with was courteous and respectful, my overall experience remains the same as does this rating. I do not recommend this dealership.

Bought a used Legacy for my son this weekend. The buying process was straightforward and simple. I contacted Brattleboro Subaru about three weeks ago at the start of my search. At that time, they didnt have what I was looking for. Marie Cook, their business manager, said she would keep an eye out for a trade that fit what I was looking for. Sure enough, I got an email with a trade that was exactly what I wanted. Our salesperson Ian was helpful and found us great financing. I cannot recommend Brattleboro Subaru highly enough. Great people.

Traded in my vehicle recently and happy with my newer car (which is why this is 2 stars instead of 1), but really distrusting of staff and plan to service my car in Keene with how my partner was treated. Being told that this is a “company built on reputation” and being laughed at and lied to when my partner had a price in mind for his used car (which turns out to be the price he could’ve received for his car) only reflects how manipulative car dealerships can be. To tell a client that you can’t offer them a higher price as you plan to wholesale their car, and then list it a couple days later on your website for thousands more, contradicts the values that you said you pride yourself on. Also, assuming and insulting both of our incomes by saying “oh that makes sense because you work for ____” and “oh they do pay you better than I thought” is truly ignorant to the community, where many financially struggle. As newer and long term residents of Brattleboro, I’ll be sure to recommend other places above this one.

I went to this establishment when I was looking to sell my car to Subaru during the Well buy your car no matter the price or what it looks like, I was told different information from the first phone call, to when I went in for them to check out my car, to the salesmen trying to sell me a car that wasnt in my price range and wasnt what I wanted. Someone from the dealership reached out to me via phone call and we spoke about the misinformation I got from the salesmen, then I got an email shortly after asking for me to come back in. I didnt have a good time searching for a car. The salesman treated me like I didnt know what I wanted or looked for in a Subaru, told me I should read up on it. Him being a salesman from Summit next door, didnt have the correct information on half the cars he put me in for a test drive. Id rather get a Subaru from a different dealership.

I will never forget bringing my car here to get worked on and left it in there care. My car was broken into and tossed and made disgusting. Parked! right infront of there entrance with cameras facing and all. The manager and people working never at all made a single effort to get anything sorted out. I was told by thr manager he would get back to me and he said he was to busy to review the video cameras.. really. They never got back I should have called cops and sue them. What an embarrassing experience to think vermont sounded like a better idea to bring car and having that happen. I never forgot this experienceEdit.. update no I didnt see anything takenBut this was an emotional experience and traumatic regardless of how u feel about people going thru peoples property if your staff closed my door this wouldnt have happen not to mention no manager ever called me back nice reply but disgusting experience non the less never going back to yall again
Ive gotten service done here after my 2018 Forester had an AC compressor failure. Marty on the service team went above and beyond coordinating with my warrantee provider to get everything covered, and we havent had a problem with AC since. I cant speak to how their prices compare to non-dealership service centers, but if youre looking for Subaru experts these people are definitely a good choice.

Really great experience purchasing a car from these folks. Everyone was super friendly, accommodating, and forthcoming. The sales associate, Chris, was also super helpful few days after purchase when I was adding the vehicle to my car insurance policy.It was my first car so naturally I was dreading the process, and mentally preparing for the worst (even read few articles on things to look out for when buying a used vehicle from a dealership) but these guys did not raise a single red flag. Very smooth experience.And also - great price. I was searching for a very specific vehicle, and was willing to drive few hundred miles if I could find a better price, but Brattleboro had the best price within 500mi radius.
We drove up to make deal on Outback or Forester, totally ignored outside, went inside -totally ignored! No greetings. Someone eating lunch. Finally left, I said “Bye, y’all”, someone did say “Bye”. Find another Subaru dealer or go next door for a Jeep -greeted outside, totally knowledgeable, nice salesman. Will NOT buy a Subaru! At least not from this dealer!
There appears to be one employee that knows her job and does it remarkably well. Consequently she is way over worked and probably underpaid. This dealer would not be able to function without her.
(This is for the service dept) I recently had a oil change done here, and the team was great. They kept me informed the whole time. I had to go back for a minor check in, and Curtis helped me out. He was very polite. He and I believe Todd worked together and solved an issue I had. I recommend coming here for any service needs you have!

While on the road my Outbacks tire pressure sensor went off. I had a feeling one of its tire stems was leaking air, so I called Brattleboro Subaru to see if I could bring it in, last minute. To my amazement it was no problem! The front staff and mechanic were all friendly and courteous. It ended up being the tire stem. Oh, and they didnt even charge me for the service! Wow. Thank you Brattleboro Subaru for your kindness and generosity.
We are Extremely Pleased with Brattleboro Subaru to say the least. In the Fall of 2018 we purchased a new Subaru Crosstrek for my wife from them and when my 2012 Outback was growing old at 342000 miles it was time for an upgrade. We paid them another visit, but this time with a pre owned Subaru in mind for myself. Our Salesman Paul S. was great throughout the entire process. They dont come out to speak to you. There are NO PRICES OR TAGS on ANY vehicles. We went down the road a block and bought a $30,000 truck at a dealership that is serious about selling cars and customer service. Brattleboro Subaru would do well to realize that we dont NEED to buy from them as there are other, better alternatives.

I purchased an older subaru from auction and the carfax did not give specifics on the repairs that were done, most of them being done at Brattleboro Subaru. The service department was happy to fill me in on major maintenance done. Being 5 states away, I am happy this car came from Brattleboro.

There usually is a lot of other people you need to go through, and procedures you need to follow to make a sale happen. Especially when you are buying a car from another state. I am leasing my Legacy here and have visited several times for the necessary maintenance service (included in the lease). When I needed snow tires, I found a 10 percent discount coupon in the Brattleboro Reformer, which I, of course, forgot. They had especially warned me that I would need to actually present it at the time that I had the tires mounted... After consulting high management, they gave me the discount anyway! I mean, what more could you want?

By far the best car buying experience we ever had! Rose was fantastic. No pressure and very respectful. We arrived having done our homework and she wasted no time sending us out for a test drive. The car we bought was $4000 below what other dealers were offering and they gave us top dollar for our trade in. Approval for financing took 15 minutes. Paperwork was a breeze and they took care of everything, even contacting our insurance company. We declined some extras the day of purchase (cargo mat, etc.) and a few days later decided to get them. A call to Rose and a trip into the parts dept - and voila!! LOVE our new 2015 Forrester. Nice follow-up phone call, e-mail and note card. Two free oil changes. Whats not to like?

Outstanding customer service! Worked with Marie (who was great) over the Internet and also spoke with Luke. We were looking for a particular model and color. Had been working with another dealer who didnt put in much effort and told us it would take 8 weeks to get. Marie quoted a price that was lower than that other dealer and Luke found a car for us in one day. Later in the week we went to the dealership (two hours from our home) to pick up the car. Jason Peters completed the sale including a trade-in. Jason Posternak completed the paperwork. Both Jasons were great to deal with. In less than 90 minutes we were driving away in the car we wanted. Everyone was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient - it was customer service at its best. We saved money, time and the frustration that comes with interacting with too many other dealerships. We will definitely return for our next vehicle. Work with Marie online and then take the extra time for a drive to Brattleboro if you dont live in the neighborhood - to experience great customer service and then hit one of the good lunch spots in town before heading home in your new car. We have never had a better car purchasing experience.
My girlfriend and I were in the market for a Santa Fe. We found one that interested us at Brattleboro Subaru. After about a week of back and forth with their sales team, they agreed to an out the door range around the asking price (essentially saving us the cost of their fees). We took a half day of work today to make the three hour drive. When we went to confirm with Mike, he said they would not drop a dime. Not a cent, even with a written confirmation from them. His response to my pleasantly worded dissatisfaction of being lied to? Maybe this Santa Fe was just not meant to be for you guys. Yes, lets blame in on fate, and not on the deceitful lying sales tactics. Word to the wise, stay away from these guys. If theyll lie just to get you in the door, I cant imagine the treatment that would come if there were any issues with a purchased vehicle.Re: the response - Yes, you confirmed a price range, and then said you would not drop a single dime off listing and fees after we had made plans to come and see it. And then had the audacity to end the conversation with Maybe it was just not meant to be. Give me a break.
This has been the best dealership experience in my over 15 years of purchasing vehicles. I live 2 hours away so I was able to do everything online while following up with their internet specialist Jessica. I truly felt like I was one of the employees family member. We arrived went over all my vehicle options signed papers and back home I went. I dont think it could have gone any smoother. Will definitely be sending everyone I know there.
My experience with this dealership was great start to finish. After expressing interest in a car that caught my eye online on a Wednesday, Tricia responded and answered questions. We have never purchased a car out of state before, but we made the long drive that Saturday, and it was well worth it as we came home with the car. Laura was very helpful and pleasant, and not the least bit pushy. The finance guy Niz was also very pleasant and easy to work with to finish the paperwork. Even after the sale, I have been contacted several times to make sure I was happy with the car. I highly recommend them.

They are honest to tell you the bottom price and willing to work with you on all the details. Also, the delivery (i am an out of state buyer) was free with all the paperwork ready to go. Made the trip up to Brattleboro Subaru to meet with Laura who I had made an appointment with the previous day. Unfortunately we were not able to piece the deal together, but at no fault of theirs as I was too early in my current loan to get out of it. However we all know sitting at the dealership for hours can be stressful and boring! This was not the case. I didn’t work with anyone else but I had an excellent time speaking and working with Laura. She was knowledgeable of the products and I would definitely recommend her to anyone in the market for a new Subaru or any used vehicle!

Most dealerships would have the communication skills and common decency to call a customer about a vehicle that has already been sold so they didnt have to drive three hours out of their way to come find out that it was just sold. Worst place to buy a car from
My sales person was Ian and he was great. It was a very busy day when I arrived, and Ian let me know up front that it might take longer to go through the process. He had the vehicles I had called about warming up out front, ready to go for my test drives. Once I was ready to purchase, he communicated clearly and thoroughly throughout the process. I especially appreciated the negotiation process, as he remained calm and utilized facts rather than emotion or pressure to get me to buy. Ian felt like a person showing me some cars, not a salesperson pressuring me to buy.I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking to purchase a new or used vehicle.
Brattleboro Subarus service department is the best part of my experiences with this dealership. They know their stuff..........when they say the work will take an hour and a half, it takes an hour and a half.....basically to the exact minute! Very thorough explaining service work to be done and upfront about cost, etc. These people should offer training seminars to other service departments.

It happened to be my birthday, so Mike went the extra mile and insisted I try out a special car to drive to my birthday dinner. The next morning, he found the perfect car in the exact color I was looking for. I worked with John McLean on my purchase of a 2016 Subaru Legacy. I have never worked with a better car salesman before whom made everything completely easy and a non-stressful process. I met the sales manager as well who was very polite and helpful as well. I have a 6 year old Outback - an older car now, with about 127k miles, so it often needs a little extra TLC. It -- and I -- get it from this dealership. Ive had contact here with Nate at the service desk before and always find him focused, attentive, professional and easy to talk with. He explains well my options for service and/or repairs and is always good to work with. He goes over every item on the list, and he answers questions directly and informatively.Good Customer Service sells! Ive always felt that Customer Service is an organizations secret weapon to gain more sales. If the customer gets to trust the individual they are dealing with, they are more likely to come back to buy another car when its time. Nate Bernard, Rachel Hawkins, Dave & others at the Brattleboro Subaru Service Desk have always provided me with that kind of service, and this will be the dealership I come back to for a car when its time.

I have owned 2 Subaru cars prior to purchasing the new legacy from Brattleborro Subaru a couple of weeks ago. I spoke to Mike Masters and he was impressive with his knowledge and patience. He found exactly what I wanted and made me feel comfortable during the entire process. I live out of state and had never bought a car out of state before or done all negotiations by phone. Mike made the transaction seem effortless. My husband and I made the trip over to see the car and Maria quickly took care of our needs even though they were very busy. Loved most of my first experience buying a new Subaru. Matt was attentive to our needs, patient and considerate. He found almost exactly what we were looking for and he went the extra mile. Buying my new 2015 Outback from Brattleboro Subaru was definitely the best car-buying experience I have ever had. Both Mike Masters and Matthew Hale were exceptional in helping me to get exactly the car I wanted and never trying to steer me toward something I did not want. Purchased a used Subaru through Brattleboro Subaru with the help of Internet Sales Manager Mike Masters. Both the dealership as well as Mike were extremely helpful in getting me information and put together a video on the car I was interested in. Completed the purchase via phone calls, email, and standard mail and the whole process was very smooth. The dealership worked with my shipper as well and assisted in the pick up of the vehicle, I had a really good experience with this dealership overall. Would definitely recommend Mike for online sales and the dealership as a whole.
Easiest process Ive had buying a car. Dusty was an easy going guy who was easy to laugh and joke with. Had to drive almost 3 hours away to get there but Ill be back for sure.
