Best of Main Line? Ordered 4 sandwiches and they were all wrong. Gave the order to the girl 5x and she still didnβt get it correct. In addition to the order not being correct, the sandwiches look terrible. Dried out meat, half filled rolls and all for $50! Total waste of money and definitely wonβt be going back. Awful.
Look Ill be honest this thing was delicious. The steak, cheese and pepperoni. Well blended, great flavor, soft but crispy roll. Everything about the flavor of this thing was outta this world.Now to be fair this is a DOUBLE cheesesteak with pepperoni. My absolute only gripe with Thunderbird is their cheesesteaks are pretty skimpy on their own so you have to order a double which is $18π³π³π³.Definitely worth the trip if youre looking for something classically local and good... But bring your wallet because it hits hard. They aint cheap.
BEST CHEESESTEAKS PERIOD!!! I grew up in the area and this is farrrr better than Pats, Genos, Delasandros, Jims or ANY other establishments that claim to have the best CHEESESTEAKS! Easy Parking, Fast, Friendly customer service & the place is REALLY CLEAN!!! Fair, Family Friendly Menu Pricing & They were established in 1956 and I think even some of the original employees STILL work there. WHENEVER youre in their area, I hope you give them a try. You certainly wont regret it. I live over 60 miles away and pass many, many well known Steak Shops and this is the ONLY one Ill come to. Thank You Thunderbird.
Must have been an off night since they usually serve excellent food and decent portions. Ordered a roast pork sandwich and cheesesteak that both came a little more than half filled with meat and the pork was a little dry (they usually put gravy on it). Sent a picture to management and their response was βthis is how we always do it.β If they always made their sandwiches the way I received mine last night (at what amounts to ~$13 a sandwich between tax and delivery fees), I wouldnβt have been a loyal customer for as long as I have. Going to keep this in mind for the future.
Ordered Thunderbird Special Cheese steak and was not that impressed. One half of the cheese steak didnt have much of the cheese but the combination of ham in cheese steak is really good. I think they struggle with consistency since my friend had less of ham and more of cheese. They need to up their game, few new stores near them might steal their base.
For years, weβve been stopping here to pick up food to take to the Phillies games. We love their cheese steaks and Italians, but when weβre trying to cut down on calories, we get a salad. Wish I had thought to take a picture of our chefβs salad last night. It was awesome! Fresh greens with plenty of cucumbers, tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, shredded carrots, and enough thin-sliced turkey, ham and cheese for two sandwiches! We alternate chefβs salad with steak salad, which is another awesome choice. We love their food, and the people are great! If you havenβt stopped here yet, give them a try.
Steak sandwich was good, but too much cheese. I always wanted to try their steak sandwiches, been driving by Thunderbird for over 30 plus yrs either on the Rt 104 to Cheyney or driving on my way to West Chester. Kept promising myself to stop by, well I finally did. The staff was very welcoming and polite. Im glad I stopped in. Again steak sandwich was good, the roll was fresh, quality of the meat damn good. You won this North Philly Boy over. Appreciate ya, see you again.

First time visiting because I heard it was good for breakfast. Its a greasy spoon with a large breakfast menu selection.The space is small but cozy and clean. The staff is friendly and very helpful. It was nice to have breakfast with my daughter.I ordered the bacon and cheese omelette which came with potatoes and toast. My 3 year old ate 2 eggs with potatoes with 1 slice of toast for $4.99.
Once or twice a year my husband drives from Northern New York to take me for lunch to Thunderbirds for their delicious and famous Cheese Steak!!!

Today I order an a lg cheesesteak Stromboli with onions and peppers!!for $21+ . Nice size cooked well. Why did they give me a sweet peppers from the jar; I didnβt ordered it they never asked!What happened to the fresh peppers; What happened to the gloves and the huts ; Sorry ppl this is a disgusting.( thanks for you dumb answer : first I didnβt order sweet peppers, clearly the order was onions and peppers, how the hell you didnβt get that, second how about your employees didnβt used gloves and huts;

Everything weve tried has been fabulous. We have passed this place many times over the years but finally decided to get take-out during our quest to find the perfect cheese steak in the immediate area. So glad we did. The cheese steaks were delicious, the pizza is like being on the boardwalk -- without the crowds and sand -- and the fries are great. (Tip, get them well done -- makes them even better.) This is our new weekly take out place and the only problem is deciding what to get. We usually like to taste various things on the menu but everything weve had is so good we want to keep ordering it. Seriously, those fries ...

My Son is Attending St. Joeβs University I was in the area in search of a good place to eat besides getting the same old fast food garbage. Iβm shocked there isnβt a decent establishment around Campus for College kids to get a good meal!! We stopped at the Original Thunderbird Pizza today, and I gotta say the Service and Food was Outstanding. I had a Corned Beef Special it was huge and delicious, pizza was very good also!! This will be my go to spot when I come from NJ to St. Joeβs to visit my Son. Great Job Guys at Thunderbird Pizza u got me and my Family Hooked we will see u again soon:)

Ive lived in Broomall for over 40 yrs and during that time......Ive patronage other restaurants such as Italian Delite (they have rodent issues btw), Alfonzos, and others around in my neighborhood.........BUT, after trying Thunderbirds....... everything from cheese steaks to pizzas to their famous pasta dishes...... Im punching myself for not making THUNDERBIRDS my go to restaurant for delicious and satisfying food and their Customer Service is over the TOP!!!! KUDOS THUNDERBIRD! ππ
I finally got to The Original Thunderbird. I am definitely glad I went. Cool old place with lots of old pics on the walls and a couple authentic old timers eating at the counter. Very good cheesesteak. I loved that roll. The meat was very good it was not finely chopped which made me really chew/eat it. Which brought out the meat flavor. The cheesesteak can stand on its own but it is more of a place you go for the experience and I would add it to places to go to. Please do not send hate mail to Thunderbirds because they did not put βPhiladelphia Cheesesteak adventure lunch with Jim Pappasβ on the sign. They did not know I was coming

My husband and I have been going to your restaurant and recommending your cheesesteaks for years. When my brother tried them for the first time a month ago and said he was largely disappointed I wondered if it was just an off night. Yet when my husband and I ordered steaks and wings for takeout this week I could certainly understand if this was the level of food he was given. The wings were way overdone and the sandwiches were stingy at best. Very disappointing.

Tonights spontaneous dinner order was perfection! Buffalo cheesesteak bliss (plenty of cheese and juicy chicken) with mozz fries just the right texture, topped off with a side of buff sauce! So much pride at the T-Bird. Down to earth friendly staff. Tasty times!
No dine in due to the pandemic but dont let that stop you from stopping up to get one of the best if not The Best hoagies and cheesesteaks in the area. Real nice staff. Never had a bad sandwich. My favorite is the Italian Hoagie

The best vegetable topped pizzas consistently since my first in 1993. When my family visits the area we make a special stop specifically for them.
This is our new favorite place for takeout. Pizza and cheese steaks are strongly recommended. Small area to eat in, but most people grab takeout. Food is good and reasonably priced (two people is about $20). The staff are nice if you have questions and efficient in helping you with your order.

They have been making pizza and cheese steaks her since the 1956, way before there was a inter webs. You cant hang around over 60 years without doing it right. They do pizza and sam mitchs right. Quality products put together fast.It tastes great. You know better, but you want to burn the top of your mouth off cuz you just cant wait for that delicious pie. What else are you looking for in a pizza and a sam mitch?

Pizza was good if it was a truck stop in Montana, but I would never stop there again. 2 stars for the sauce which was decent. Plenty of other options down the road to check out.
The food is very average or below and there prices r way too high. I got a cheesesteak and FF delivered it was $19. Before tip. Go to Delco steaks food so much better and much cheaper. Never again will I get food delivered from here. Way too expensive and always cold

Excellent cheesesteak if you want a great sandwich go to The Original Thunderbird if you want a so so cheesesteak go to Pats or Ginos. With the Covid-19 restrictions its best to call or order on line, the staff will greet you in the parking lot and bring your order to you.
Always enjoyed their pizza but tonight not so good. Ordered a large pizza and when I got home the entire bottom was burnt and also the crust. Come on they didnt see that when they took it out of the oven. Very disappointed especially after paying 15.00
Its pretty good. The seats and tables need to be upgraded. If youre on the larger side, I wish you luck fitting in those booth style tables. Theyre more like church pews. The staff are friendly and the food is your garden variety hand stuff; pizza wings fries etc.

The best pizza..
We decided to stop and have some pizza and wings for lunch on our day off and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and fast. The wings were pretty good but could be a little more meaty and spicy. The pizza was excellent but with a little too much cheese.When we went up to pay the bill, one of the workers asked how we found everything. When I relayed my concerns, he honestly listened and made some recommendations for ordering next tome... and we are looking forward to a next time soon.
First time I went for breakfast, pretty good menu,plenty of seating. Service was exclent. Would of liked to see a big breakfast on the menu, Otherwise I was very pleased with the size of my order. Will definitely go back.
Big no go from me for now at least. The prices are outrageous and the cheese steaks are kinda lacking on meat. The onion rings I got on the side were super overcooked and for a large cheese steak and onion rings it was like around $20... yikes. If you take a drive down the street you can see other places offering more steak on the roll then Thunderbirds offerings. I think the pizza is okay in my opinion its good every once in awhile but I kinda dislike the way how the crust is too hard. (Im aware some people may like it that way) I do have to admit Im quiet sad to see Thunderbird slowly taking this decline but the competition is at a peak right now and Thunderbirds prices have only been going up while the others have been going down.
Really great food, great pizza, great cheesesteaks and burgers. Staff was friendly. The place is small, but that is part of the charm. There were certainly a few regulars that the staff knew, so thats a great sign. Will certainly eat here again soon.
We usually get pizzas and steak sandwiches which are always THE BEST! This morning we ate breakfast!!Large portions, great service, real potatoes, great sausage and priced good!! We will be back again !!!
Really excellent cheese steaks and variants. Can be a bit slow but thats ultimately a statement to how popular it is. Better than the better known places in South Philly.

Probably the best cheese steak you can get outside of Philly. The bread is what really brings this sandwich to the next level. If you are into spicy, ask for the hot peppers. They wont disappoint.
My favorite hole in the wall stop for a Philly cheese steak sandwich on my way to upstate PA. Staff is friendly, feels like family. Have not had a bad bite of food there yet. I go a few times a year as I pass through the area, and its a place I look forward to going.
Ive Recently started ordering from here & fell in love with the cheese-steaks! I really liked the mozzarella cheese sticks & jalapeno poppers.But i didnt care for the fries because they came in a bag and tasted a little funny but overall, i really like this place.
