Love this place. Dave does good work and his prices are very reasonable. theres a great selection of strings and straps as well as a few used and new amps/instruments for sale.
After many attempts trying to visit this place because it has been closed. I finally went into the store today and found the guy Dave not to be very friendly or welcoming. So I only stayed a few minutes. I won’t ever be back!
I have purchased several guitars at very reasonable prices. I have had several acoustics fitted with electronics. The service has been great. I highly recommend RockTown Music for your repair needs or if you are looking for a quality used instrument or amplifier.
They are new to the area and trying to expand their customers and inventory. They had exactly what I needed. Its your local music shop that is desperately needed in the area. Go check them out.
Done great work fast and honest.
I met a super cool guy last week. His name is David McFarland and he is the owner of RockTown Music in Little Rock, AR. I was flying into Little Rock from Denver to do a single show at the Robinson Center. I needed a small amp for my acoustic guitar. David agreed to rent me an amp for the day. Because I was just coming in for the one gig and had a really tight turnaround, David graciously agreed to deliver the amp to the venue for me, right when I needed it. If this were not enough, again because of an even tighter turnaround from the gig back to the airport, Mr. McFarland even agreed to pick up the amp AND ME and drop me off at the airport! Wow! What a guy! I never met the guy before in my life and he totally helped make my trip a breeze! This is someone who knows how to go the extra mile (quite literally!). This is an owner who understands what customer service means and isnt afraid to make things work, even if it might be a bit outside the box. I wish RockTown was in Denver! David, you have a new friend in Denver and if there is ever a way I can help you out, you know how to find me!
Great guy and great work!
I walked into this place very unsure. From the first day, Bryan the owner made me feel at home. He was upfront and honest and did great work. I have become a repeat customer and wouldnt go anywhere else unless I had been there first.I had a incident where I had a guitar repaired by a different tech (he was new) and my string was slightly offset. I could have lived with it but Bryan saw me playing it when I picked it up, apologized, and made it right. I told him it was no big deal but he wouldnt take no for an answer as its his shop, so its his reputation. When I got my guitar, it was perfect. He also informed me that the tech had done the repair while he supervised to ensure everyone working there met the same standards. They dont pretend to know everything and are honest. They have done many jobs and they have a great selection of unusual cool stuff.Highly recommended.
Bryon did a great job upgrading a couple of my guitars. Im 100% satisfied with his expert work. I would highly recommend this shop for anything stringed (they fixed my friends cello for a very reasonable price). Also, Bryon has a vast knowledge of all things guitar and he seems very willing to pass on his wisdom.
I took my 2001 Les Paul to Bryon and Dave in February 2019 for a basic set up. I bought it new and always stored it in the case and very rarely had it out. Very careful with it. The guitar only had one very small blemish on the front. When I got it back it had several deep dents on top edge close to the back and a couple dents in the back itself. They swear they did not damage it but I know for a fact it wasnt damaged when I dropped it off. I had just polished it before I took it there. Bryon had promised it would be ready Saturday the 23RD and it was not. He then told me it would be ready the following Monday which it was. Im not sure if they just got in a hurry or what exactly happened but they pointed to the paperwork stating they were not responsible for any damage.... Not a good way to run a business. I should have inspected it and made note of any defect with them before dropping it off. Lesson learned!!!
The guys at least frets are just great!! I cant say this more. They provide great prices, quality work, highly knowledgeable, and provide a great chill friendly atmosphere. As my first time dealing with them and them repairing two of my guitars in a timely manner they not only did that but did super solid work cant be more happier
I stopped by to get some strings and have a question or two answered about my resonator guitar. I was helped by Cameron, whom I found to be knowledgeable and earnest. This is a shop that exists for the love of music. They’re not going to pressure you to pay for their services; instead, they just have a passion for working on instruments.Even though I (and probably you, the reader) can restring my own instrument, I opted to have Cameron restring my guitar. I left with a readjusted truss rod, polished fretboard, and re-seated bridge saddle—for $15 plus the price of new strings. GREAT DEAL. My guitar has never sounded better.Bottom line: if you’re searching for someone in Little Rock who can be trusted to do exceptional work for a fair price, you can stop searching now because Little Rock Frets is without a doubt the best you can get.
I brought in my wifes Seagul cedar folk guitar to fix the playability. Bryon determined the issues quickly, hydration and a neck reset. Picked up the guitar a few days later and my wife is pleased! Happy wife, happy life.Great service and great work for a great price, you cant ask for anything more ... thank you Bryon!
As a beginner guitar player I would highly recommend you have your guitar setup by Bryon before you get started on your new journey. The difference in how my new Squire Strat feels and plays after him working his magic is well worth the price without a doubt. Another bonus is that he is a super nice guy that will play your guitar and show you how it sound! Thanks Bryon.
Byron is a great guy and has always done fine work on my guitars. I highly recommend him to anyone.
Professional! That is the one word I would use to describe this business. Bryon was knowledgeable, helpful and best of all did a fantastic job replacing the nut on my Martin. I wish I had known about this place a long time ago. I will be going here from now on for all my guitar repair needs.
If you need a musical instrument repaired, Bryan is the only one in central Arkansas to see. He has years of experience and so does the company he keeps. Anyone who is familiar with the music scene in Arkansas has heard of Bob Boyd who I have seen working there quite often. They are fair and can help non-musicians make good decisions on purchases and repairs. He made my guitar play so much better than my ability! Thanks Bryan!
Small store. Veteran owned business. Bargain guitar straps $2 each plus tax. Bright solid colors, some instruments for sale.
Locally owned. Staff goes out of their way to accommodate. Great place!!
Ive been playing stringed instruments for a long time and Ive been to a lot of shops. Ive never been made to feel more welcome and the quality of work is top notch. Truly above and beyond service. Would highly recommend
Dave is the BEST. My husband and I have trusted several of our stringed instruments to RockTown/LRF. Setups are always very well done, very fairly priced, and Dave treats both instruments and customers with a great deal of respect and integrity. They have a cool selection of guitars, strings and straps as well! We will always recommend RockTown/LRF!
Great shop, great staff. I dropped my 12-String off on very short notice- they repaired the bridge and did a re-string in about an hour. They also inspected the guitar and gave me a retail value because I was interested in selling it. I would totally ignore the one bad review, these guys are first rate.
Had a problem with a Rise by sawtooth classical nylon string guitar. They wouldnt work on it because after their $175 repair, it would still be a bad guitar. Best guitar shop ever!
Veteran owned! Great service and conversation, the only place Ill go in Little Rock to have my equipment serviced! All things guitar
They took my 70 Les Paul copy Guitar in and treated me and my guitar with Respect! They love what they do and they do it well! I enjoy them and look forward to my next project with them!
Bryon rocks. I stopped by to discuss the local music scene and he gave me a tour of his shop and showed me his projects. Ive been breaking stuff for 23 years now - and I can assure you that this guy is a quality repair man. 35 years experience doesnt hurt either! VERY fair pricing (I am coming from NYC so that doesnt hurt either) and a very quality set of tools and work space. Id leave my guitar there for sure.
Took a vintage martin guitar for repair. Ended up with a bad experience. Ill just leave it at that.
Great repairs and set ups Ive experienced on several instruments over the years! The only friend you need for your instrument. Little Rock Fret will keep you pickn!
Prompt and friendly service. I brought in two guitars for a full setup and they had them working as good as new the same day. Excellent work!
Dont go anywhere else. New to guitars and when you let them know. They explain anything you want to know. Most places just act like thier time is too valuable to talk with you. Wish I could give more stars than 5.
Very honest and his setups are the very best. He knows his business. Moved away from Arkansas but will save my guitar repairs or next set up till I get back to Little Rock. It is worth the wait.
Bryon is the man. Always sets up my guitars just right, and goes beyond out of his way to make sure everything is the way you like it. Nicest guy in Little Rock.
These guys are the best and prices are great! Took in a new prs that was out of whack and they set it up unbelievably awesome. They did other work for me aswell. Day and night comparison. This company is a treasure to our state. Heres hoping that the company will be around for a long time.
Bryon will treat you right!!! Very knowledgeable with good pricing and excellent service! Be sure to shop there for your next guitar and certainly if you need yours repaired or serviced! Highly recommended!!!
The friendliest guitar place Ive ever been. Knowledgable and genuinely interested in helping and passing on their expertise. This is mostly a repair shop — just a few instruments for sale — but worth a stop in even if youre just looking.
Owner is extremely cordial and goes the extra mile to ensure that the work is done properly. I cannot recommend this business enough .
Great service and donuts. Never, ever have these guys failed to stand behind their work. My name is Tom Powell and I stand behind this review.
Bryon is hands down the best around at stringed instrument repair. Absolutely fantastic customer service, top quality repair work, and the perfect example of hospitality.
Dishonest and lazy. He has earned that distinction with me after implying that I attempt to make and sell a counterfeit guitar on the market. His boundaries are not clear. He should have refused the work order instead of hemming and hawing trying to teach me a lesson in trademark infringement. I also hired him to put Seymour Duncans in a Squire. When I called him for progress report he said he was working on it now. I go back 2 weeks later and the Seymour Duncans hadnt even arrived yet. I have no trust in dishonest and lazy people. Oh, and Bryon, please dont call me about this post. If youre a good luthier, I suggest you keep your nose in the workshop out of site from the customers.
Very experienced and knowledgeable, and always helpful! Ive had several guitar setups done here, always very happy with the results!
Bryon and David are great people and this is an awesome repair shop and more
Great knowledge, great service, great price. If your guitar is worth repairing or only needs a tune up, take it to Bryon and his crew at Frets.
Bryon is a great guitar/banjo tech and just a super nice guy. I trust him with any of my instruments. Stop by his shop and look around.
Nice, friendly environment. This guys is experienced in his craft and genuine in the way he conducts business. A rare find these days.
Good guitar store. Repairs are good.
Awesome experience with Bryon he aloud my son to come in and help build his own guitar.
Love this place. It is so hard to not just hang out all day.
Stopped in today and showed him my old mandolin, and he gave a great price for repair. Couldnt recommend Little Rock frets more.
Great customer service and musical knowledge can be found here. They show you everything they are going to fix, and they dont force a buy.
Its hard to find a place where you can feel welcome, or someone you can trust. You guys ROCK!! Never thought ill love my Ibanez RG floyd rose as much as i do now, Keep on goin, dont stop, and count on me for my next project!
Custom built guitars new & used guitars, guitar lessons & classes all the employees are top notch. I wouldnt take my guitar anywhere else.
Best instrument shop in Little Rock, Bryon does great work and always backs it up, he knows his customers, often by name, its just awesome!
A great stringed-instrument and amp repair shop, with an ever-changing assortment of cool used instruments for sale -- owner Bryon Knight is very knowledgeable and talented, and will treat you (and your instruments) right. Also has a wide assortment of strings and other accessories -- search him out, its well worth the effort!
Owner is knowledgeable about all makes of any guitar, will fix just about anything broken.
Byron is a super knowledgeable and very talented at instrument repair.
Great place! Great people!
Very professional Staff, had an issue at first but was worked out immediately and I was taken care of. Will continue to take my guitars here to get setup/fixed.
