Nice layout and good signage.Knowledgeable service staff that is friendly. Good selection of items with different brands available.Was able to pull my vehicle in to load several pieces of lumber.Observing social distancing and easy parking.

I’m always sent on errands and often not sure of what I’m expected to get. Today I needed some paint thinner, as soon as I walked in I was greeted & I asked where I could find what I was looking for, but instead of just being told I was walked over to the paint area & then I was walked over to where they had the thinners. It’s great that they went out of their way to help me. Very knowledgeable & friendly staff. Thank you!

2 stars for being local but thats about it. Its a little pricey and thats fine but the problem is ordering any lumber and especially if you are having it cut. The pick up and paying process is unorganized and takes forever. Good luck.

Sales person was excellent, but what good does it do to you the client if the yard person will not have the decency of selecting a somewhat straight piece of lumber for your project. Both pieces were twisted (spiral) One 4 X 6 x 16 was bent into position using 3/4 pipe clamps as leverage but second piece was trash.

All your specialty building supplies, found the wood oil I needed for my deck that was not available at Home depot or Lowes. They have a huge array of wood for all applications, and the staff is beyond knowledgeable.

I love ganahl but this particular one is pretty limited on selection. The hardwoods area was pathetic. Great staff friendly and helpful. its the closest to my house so its where I go a lot but I definitely prefer the big one in Anaheim.Was hoping they had some stuff for woodturning particularly pen blanks but they dont carry any.Only had one size walnut board in the hardwood section plenty of oak a few cherry.but I got the kiln-dried Doug fir that I was looking for.I love that you dont have to search forever to find a straight clean board at ganahl. but I did still have to go through a few to find what I wanted just not 40 like you do at home Depot.

They always seem to have what I need. Prices are reasonable and I love the personal attention you get from the friendly and professional staff.

Ordering the wood was great picking it up was horrible. Every piece of wood that was brought to us was cracked or had some kind of damage. The inside workers were to lazy to go outside to see the horrible pieces brought to us. They wanted to send us to another store but still didnt have what we ordered at that store. They were trying to sell us 12 foot pieces when we ordered and paid for 10 foot pieces. We got our money back and left they had us running around like chickens without a head! Waste of our time we will never go there again!

Im a contractor and have been shopping at Ganahl for years. I believe they are a good company to do business with.I prefer the Buena Park one off of Beach Blvd. Everyone is friendly and helpful and its not as busy as the other ones. Thomas Yunker is our regular doors sales man we deal with. He is helpful and I like that he doesnt make excuses but gives/finds solutions if there is a problem.

The best place for materials

Why does kiln dried doug fir cost over $8 a board foot? for reference, off a popular online retailer that is known to upcharge, you can get a board foot of 4/4 birch for $6. You can get select 4/4 cypress for $5 a board foot including shipping off wall lumber. what are you even doing? while the doug fir at home depot is #2C rather than #1C, it is literally 20% as expensive. that is 80% less money spent.

I love this store. Its kind of hard to believe but the almost is a One-Stop shopping for all your needs today I went there for an oak threshold. Of course they carried it. The other two major home improvement stores didnt. I love their selection of power tools and hand tools the customer service Representatives are very knowledgeable and very helpful. A few times they were able to make custom molding for me. I highly recommend the store

The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable. They have a surprisingly large selection of tools given the size of the store. I buy a lot of wood here for all my projects. Its slightly more expensive that some of the bigger hardware chains, but is MUCH better quality. Dont waste your time sifting through the warped, rotting garbage at other stores.

Everything youd want in a lumber/hardware store. Lots of different things than available at Home Depot or Lowes.

Awful customer service. The paint counter had 2 people in it and 1 customer, 1 guy walking.No hey could I help you with anything get to the check out 2 employees standing there. 1 plodding along on the register the other talking to a customer about their grandchildren. Last time I had this problem, I asked the guy behind the cashier counter. Same sort of scenario. I asked, is their any other cashiers. he points to the cashier and says She can help you. The station has 2 cash registers back to Home Depot next time .

It was a little drive from montebello, but i literally looked everywhere for a new back, door and double door for my water heater. I couldnt find any within a short notice.
