Thank you so much for this beautiful wedding cake. I ordered the cake as a gift for my sister and you guys exceeded my expectations. The cake looked beautiful and tasted great. The cake was so moist and the icing was not too sweet. I will absolutely order another cake in the future. I was so nervous about not having it delivered, but they did an amazing job stabilizing it so it would not move during transport. If you order a cake from The Baking Grounds, you will not be disappointed!! Their prices are also so reasonable.

The Baking Grounds have been a long time favorite spot of mine. Great selections of breakfast & lunch dishes but there sweets and pastries takes the CAKE(pun intended).. They make anything from birthday cakes to wedding cakes or just delicious desserts in general!! The Baking Grounds are a staple in the Buford Community and I recommend them 100%!!

Malinda and her team absolutely did an amazing job on our wedding cakes. Not only were the cakes so delicious, but the details were killer. My husband and I are huge Disney fans so we knew we wanted to have a touch of Disney to the day, so for his grooms cake we did a classic black & white mickey cake and loved it. We were honestly so obsessed with how both cakes came out! I would highly recommend The Baking Grounds for any wedding or special event.

The staff here is friendly and works hard to meet your needs and requests. They advise you based on their years of experience. This is my second time ordering a cake from here (I ordered my 30th birthday cake before - I’ll attach a photo of that as well.)! This time, my sister needed a wedding cake and I had a credit on my account from a cancelled order that they allowed me to use towards my sister’s two tier wedding cake! I love writing 5 star reviews for little mom and pop places, but this place just didn’t do it for me. I’ve been here several times because it was close to where I work and very convenient, each time hoping it would get better just was just generally disappointing. I gave them so many chances, hoping I just went on a bad day, but no such luck.The food and baked goods were beautiful, don’t get me wrong. Every time I saw a new, specialized cake come out it was breathtaking. The creativity and over all craft was impressive. But each time I have tried one of their baked goods it was just unimpressive. Which is disappointing because everything was so beautiful. I stand by, your goal is a beautiful cake, this is the place.The breakfasts were also only okay. Not a bad price, and everything looks just as nice...but it was just not what I was hoping for. Last time I went with a friend we got biscuits and gravy, which were not very fluffy and not very warm, and everything else was just a little bland. Each time I’ve gone I wasn’t fully satisfied.The staff was friendly, everything was clean and it was a cute little bakery – just not worth 5 stars.

Really a great place. Good and cheap breakfast, not the largest variety though. Service was quick and accurate. The house potatoes were especially good with their seasoning and appear to be lightly fried. Biscuits and gravy were good. While they arent #1 Ive ever had, would still order again next time.Huge variety of baked snacks and desserts. The cookie I tried was of the harder milk dipping kind rather than soft and gooey. Tasty though.Unfortunately they do not cater to allergy or dietary restrictions well.Would definitely come back here.

You know its good when you drive from commerce to buford for a cake. First off, the customer service is more than awesome. The minute you walk-in you are greeted with a lovely smile. Came here to order my daughters birthday cake and they did not disappoint. The passion they presented and brought to making the cake was incredible. Will definitely return and recommend everyone to try this place out.

Ate lunch today with a friend. We both ordered the special. Grilled cheese with ham. It was just 2 pieces of bread toasted, one slice of cheese and two very thin (Oscar Mayer) type pieces of round ham. Not grilled. Service was great though and very pleasant. We wish the sandwich had been better and more filling.

Was excited to have their services but unfortunately they did not make the cake to our specifications that were discussed at the meeting. Be aware of the shady owner who will say it will be done the way you ask and discuss and then not write anything down and charge you for services you did not receive. Also dont bother trying to communicate the discrepancies, sadly you will be told you are wrong. Do not order a naked cake you will not receive it after paying for it. Paied extra for naked and recieved the opposite after being told it could be done and confirming with his staff.

We decided to order a custom cake for our daughters birthday as opposed to one from Publix. When researching for a bakery, the Baking Grounds is a business that was consistently recommended. We decided to give them a try, and I am so happy we did! The cake turned out much prettier than I anticipated and really contributed to an awesome day for my 8 year old. Thank you for making her birthday even more special.

They make some amazing cakes. Theyre running low on staff so you need to have patience, it is well worth it. The staff is friendly and they pay close attention to detail. 10/10 would highly recommend.

I went in for a take out lunch and inquired about a birthday cake. I was greeted by Cheryl and she was absolutely the nicest person ever to wait on me and answer all of my questions. She gave wonderful suggestions on which choice cake to go with to suit my needs. She exceeded my expectations of this cafe as this was my first experience here. I will definitely be back to bring friends. Every restaurant needs more Cheryl’s!!

Honestly such a cute bakery and great spot for coffee and dessert which seems to get harder and harder to find. I went Yesterday with my parents and we all loved it. The lava cakes were so good my mom had to save half so she could eat later lol my dad and I had the small cakes and they were perfect with the coffee. I took some cookies home to my husband and they were a hit . We hung out and talked without feeling rushed the staff was great a definite 5 stars from us.

Had the most delicious lunch today. I highly recommend the burger & fries or maybe you would enjoy the chicken salad and tomato basil soup! Both are fantastic meals 😋 The sweet tea is truly southern made. Not to mention the service was outstanding! Very price friendly/clean and just all around happy atmosphere. Needless to say it won’t be long till my next visit.

They have great service the employees are very kind. There breakfast and lunch is so good if your a burger fan try the buford burger. If your looking for a cake for any occasion they have or will hand design what you want and the cake taste as good as they look.... great place

I Ordered a Toy Story Themed cake for my sons 3rd birthday and it turned out PERFECTLY! The staff was a big help every step of the way and I appreciate them paying attention to every single detail from beginning to end. The cake was delicious! My son loved it and kept saying “wow” every time he looked at it lol. I definitely recommend The Baking Grounds Bakery Cafe for all your themed cake needs! Just an all around wonderful experience! Delicious food, all breads and pastries done right here. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and it was made to perfection. The hash browns were crispy and not greasy like at so many other places. The eggs tasted fresh and the ham was sweet and plentiful. My partner ordered the French toast cinnamon roll. It was also made to perfection. The place was packed on a Saturday morning at 10:00 am. An inconspicuous little strip mall in amongst business warehouses, this place has been made with love and art to detail. Lovely and great food. A must try this n Buford, GA!!!

Its unfortunate that I have to write this review as Baking Grounds was one of our favorite spots which is why we ordered my daughters wedding cake from them. We ordered 11 months prior to the wedding and paid in full. Unfortunately a month later the wedding was canceled and we had to cancel the cake (10 months prior to the wedding). We called 3 different times and all three times were told our refund would be sent. We are now over a year out and still never received our refund. Lesson learned. Will never make that mistake again!

Hands down my favorite place in Buford. They have the friendliest staff and most delicious food. Not only are their bakery goods amazing but their cafe food as well. Im lucky enough to work across the street and get lunch here almost everyday. I was so impressed by their quality of food that I purchased my wedding cake from here and was blown away at the beauty and price of the cake. This bakery is an absolute must if you are ever in the area!

It was delicious. Cake pops, cookies, breakfast, and lunch joint. I was that fat kid in a candy store couldnt make up my mind on which cake pop so I got one of each. The cake inside is moist and the crunchy icing on the outside. Its not over done with sugar. I understand they also do cakes so call them and reserve your next birthday cake.

Adorable little bakery! Lived in Buford for years and never knew it was here! The decor is amazing! We got cupcakes, cream horn and Cookie Monster cookie and loved everything! The selection is amazing so much to choose from! Can’t wait to be back and try their lunch!

At first glance I was taken aback by the impressive array of baked goods. The staff was pleasant and ready to assist with our needs. We purchased several items; we couldnt help ourselves as these delectable looking pastries called to every sense. We expeditiously sped to our home where we immediately began shoveling the goodies into our greedy mouths. BUT...These pastries had been shrouded in NON-sugary deception.Are these pastries crafted for diabetics?Are these pastries crafted gluten free?Were these pastries crafted without butter?Were these pastries made with Sweet and Low?We have never been so utterly disappointed in life. One good note: The community coffee was brewed to perfection.

This place is awesome! If I could give it 6 Stars I would! It has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, the employees are kind and helpful, and the selection of baked goods is heavenly! I know Im using a lot of exclamation points, but it is that good! Im so glad I stumbled on this place today for coffee and dessert, the hardest part was deciding what to order. I also liked that I didnt feel pressured or rushed; I had a book to read while I inhaled my sweet treat and I made sure to bring some home to the family.

YALL. I went one time and spent $35 buying 4 different cake pops, two different cupcakes, a cookie of The Child (clearly a must, because Disney is LIFE!), an elephant ear, a lava cake, a red velvet bar of some sort.. I just went HAM! My family had a great time taste testing and I cant wait to visit again! Also, a very important piece that sets this bakery apart.. the cakes I took a picture of are already made and they will add anything to the top you like for your special event. But they arent just cakes with flowers or balloons like you find at your usual haunts. They have ribbon and glitter and sparkles and ombre and intricate designs. I think that this is amazing because last minute you have the ability to pickup a cake that looks like a special order! This changes the game! Im so glad to have this treasure nearby.

We were looking at homes in the Buford area and decided to look for a local diner for breakfast. We noticed that The Baking Grounds Bakery Cafe was located near us and decided to check it out. Wow! This place is fantastic! Granted we missed their breakfast hours, but lunch (sandwiches and soups) was delicious! They also have a variety of baked goods and treats for everyone! We managed to grab some buckeyes and cake pops that were awesome!

Stop by to get a birthday cake..ending up with a cake and pie! Best bakery in town! Service was awesome! I will be back! Thank you for all your help! The cake and key lime pie was out of this world!!😃

I want to start of the New Year right by giving credit where it is due. My family and I love The Baking Grounds. We get all of our birthday cakes from there. The reason we love them is not only because of the delicious cakes but also the awesome customer service. The staff members are always so sweet, helpful and polite. Today was no different, Cheryl was amazing. We are blessed to have such a sweet place to get our sweets from🥰. Customer service was amazing!! Employees made sure we were taken care of and really cared that we were satisfied. I got the oreo and raspberry macaroons and they were amazing. If you go ask about the cake dipped in donut glaze.. It is super good.

I have eaten here many times and every time I also purchase a lot of the sweets and breads. Never had a problem until I wanted to place an order for custom cupcakes. It was not enough notice to get something special which I totally understood. I was prepared to order standard cupcakes and use my cupcake liners to go along with the theme of the party. A young girl was trying to help me when another lady got on the phone and was completely rude and unhelpful. She made me feel like I was wasting their time. I say all of this to say to you, don’t waste YOUR time at Baking Grounds.

I love this place and often daydream about their delicious treats. So glad that I learned you can purchase slices of wedding cake. They also have yummy lunch.

I had the salad with chicken, egg and pimento salads and it was very good. The best part was the rice Krispie treat on a stick for dessert. It was coated with peanut butter, then chocolate and topped with a peanut butter cup. AMAZING!!!

I ordered my 3 tier wedding cake here and it was perfect! The whole experience with Melinda was wonderful! The cake was delivered early and tasted great! I can’t wait to eat our top tier on our anniversary! Thank you for baking our cake!!

Place is nice, clean with friendly staff. I went there for breakfast. Menu is acceptable. Food portion was big unlike its seasoning. It didnt have much flavor. The biggest bummer for me was grits. I was expecting an authentic (based on their family business story), home style, southern grits but, it was more like quick 1 minute grits and undercook. There were a few other customers there who look happy so hope youll like it

We visited Tha Baking Grounds for breakfast today. Theyre only open for breakfast and lunch but they serve both most or the day.The food is delicious and priced right. Youll be tempted by their baked goods during checkout. Cakes and cupcakes and donuts and popcorn and cakes and yumminess will surround you.If youre looking for dinner I recommend starting early and stopping by The Baking Grounds. You will leave satisfied.

The Baking Grounds came highly recommended by a friend. My fiancé (at the time) and I went for a tasting and I had to rely on his opinion as I am gluten free! He doesnt even really like cake but he loved all of the samples! I chose the design of our wedding cake based on four other cakes I saw on their site combined into one! I knew I wanted a Yeti cake for the grooms cake as my husband is a beer salesman. I was able to incorporate other things he loves by using sugar stickers.All of our guests raved about how wonderful and moist the cakes were! I was jealous that I could not partake in eating them but The Baking Grounds made me some super tasty gluten free cupcakes to enjoy!Our consultation went so smoothly that I did not worry one bit about our cakes for the months in between ordering them and them be delivered to our venue. I was so elated that both cakes looked even better than I could have imagined!I would definitely recommend The Baking Grounds to my friends and family!!

Have been for breakfast (loved the hash browns) and lunch (good sandwich, better cookie). So, we ordered a salted caramel cake for a special occasion. Very disappointed. It just tasted sweet, not like caramel except for the very top. My granddaughters took one bite of 2 different flavored cupcakes and threw them away.

First time there last Friday. Excellent food and Friendly staff. The wife and I will be back.

Consistently good sandwich/soup/bakery. Almost everything Ive had tastes homemade. Went today and sent soup back, too cold. Brand new bowl sent back out quickly, all was well!

The cakes are beautiful, and the food was okay. The coffee was perfect, but everything is a little bit expensive. It is a good place to go occasionally or for a special occasion cake.

Ive being blessed with being able to have The Baking Grounds in my backyard since I found them while looking for my daughters bday cake. That was 4 years ago. I have bought my entire familys birthday cakes there since then. Not to mention I have also tried breakfast pastries, seasonal treats, pies, bread and food offerings too. Call me a fan! They dont just delight with theyre delicious offerings but they also have beautiful decor and a wonderfully warm staff. It is a place to cherish.

We came here for the first time this morning and I was excited to tell my husband that after months of trying to have a baby, he was finally going to be a daddy. I asked a lady up front if she could have my server bring him a cookie with youre a daddy written on a napkin and they went above and beyond and even secretly recorded the special moment for us❤ the pancakes were also phenomenal.

I came here expecting great quality products and homemade fresh bakery items. this was not the case after trying some of their desserts and pastries I realized almost all their product is frozen and marked up to match real bakeries. whats even worse is I herd the owner berating his employee out front. how awful of a person do you have to be to yell at your employee during a pandemic.

This was my first visit to this establishment. I drove an hour and a half to get to Buford. They did have a large assortment of goodies to choose from. I liked the cookies better than the cupcake just because I dont like the texture of the frosting on them. It was worth the try, though!

The buford burger is very good and unique, huge selection of treats and coffees. Customer service is impeccable couldnt have been better.

Eh...cute, clean environment, and really friendly staff. Decent sandwiches, but not great. Lunch sandwiches were definitely overpriced. Its a bakery that makes their own bread and lunch comes with a cookie...cant say I was impressed with the bread or cookie.

Come for the breakfast and cakes. But avoid the “French onion soup”. It is Lipton onion soup mix with a couple of onions tossed in. No bread, no cheese. How they can call this French onion soup is beyond me.
