Went here recently with my wife and son. My wife is a relatively new quilter and the rest of us were along for the ride. The store was nice and well organized into little rooms. Lots of fabric, lots of accessories and it looks like they offer classes as well. Good location as its only a few minutes away from either the mall or downtown Buford.

I visited this quilt store recently while visiting in the area. In fact, I got in twice! The sales ladies were all very nice and helpful. They have a great variety of fabrics and notions. I even found my favorite straw needles, of which I failed to bring with me! I look forward to visiting again next time Im here!

In response to the owners comment: I will not be back there, girl was very rude, really didnt want to give me any information. And the time I called was at the October - so plenty of time. Original review: Very disappointed. Called to get an item quilted. This was my home shop, but no longer. The quilt was only a throw, but they would not quilt it.

I had to use google to find a new quilting store - I usually buy my material out of town. The shop close to me shut down a few years ago. I was happy to see there was a cute store in Buford, so I decided to run over there and get a couple of specific things. I called ahead to make sure they were open on this holiday weekend and they were! YAY! Then, I realized with traffic it was going to make it close to their quitting time, so I called again and asked them to cut a specific piece of fusible webbing and when I got there it was done and they were ready and waiting to quickly serve my other needs. The ladies were delightful even though I was there at closing time with service with a smile! KUDOS!

We visited this store when we were on th shop hop many of the stores this year haven’t been giving very good free gifts but the patterns are great the salespeople were very friendly and helpful there are many fun notions around and many different idea provoking designes placed around the store this shop is fun and has many nifty items to help you out whe you are sewing the prices are good and the quality of fabric is great joanns may be close and not too far out of the way but if you are sewing a quilt that you want to be comfy and good quality that will last not to mention with fabric made in the good ol usa then this is the place for you the shop clerks are happy to help with whatever you need and are pleasant and will make conversation with you but are not oever bearing they have people coming for all over the place to shop here I met a woman who traveled all the way from savannah ga and she does so every where to go on the shop hop because the shops here have such good quality fabrics and are friendly an helpful it fun fun fun and kind

I moved here this spring, and the shop 2.5 miles from my house. I was really excited to have it nearby.Georgia Sewing and Quilting carries a lot of traditional and contemporary quilting fabrics, including Moda, batiks, and some Riley Blake. While I am more of a Free Spirit and Cotton + Steel girl, I was still excited to have a quilt shop nearby to purchase notions, and as a bigger bonus, they are a Handi Quilter dealer. You see, I recently purchased a used Handi Quilter long-arm machine, and I needed to order the $2,500 Studio Frame to go with it. It thrilled me to have a dealer in my backyard. But heres where my disappointment began. Ive since learned that the Handi Quilter expert no longer lives here, and she only comes to the shop a few times a month. As much as the sweet ladies in the shop wanted to help me - I went in May, July, and September - they told me that the person I needed to talk to was out. This last time, someone did offer to have her contact me, and they told me shed be in the shop two Thursdays from then.I would have loved to have purchased the table from my local quilt shop, but as a beginning long-arm quilter, Im looking for a dealer that can be available within a few days. Ive since found other HQ dealers, and Im in the process of ordering my table from one of them. And this is going to sound silly, but this is what really got me: Remember earlier when I said that I liked the idea of having a quilt shop to purchase notions from? Today I cleaned my sewing machine and realized I was out of oil. I thought to myself, No problem, I have a shop right around the corner! Well, to my disappointment, they were out and sent me to Hobby Lobby, which just felt wrong. I wanted so badly to support my local quilt shop, but as much as Ive tried, they just havent been able to meet my needs.Ive been told that the management has been going through a transition. Things happen in life, and I certainly respect that. I really hope that theyll be able to work through whatever changes theyre going through and come out stronger.Overall, the shop is well organized and seems to carry pretty much everything youd expect - from fabric to patterns to notions, etc., so Im sure its meeting the needs of most customers, but if youre wanting to buy a Handi-Quilter or you are looking for something specific, you might want to double-check before you go!
