The entire staff is so inviting and knowledgeable about the dance wear that they sell. It’s always good to know that you are being serviced by experts. I will continue to shop here for my dance wear needs in the future and recommend this store to my friends and colleagues.

Simple and straightforward dance shop. They always seem to have whatever I need. Selection could be more interesting but Karabel does the job correctly, albeit simply.

I have been shopping for about 7 years and I LOVE it! Such cute leotards, warm-up, bra tops, tutus, you name it! They literally always have the newest cutest stuff! I got fitted for my first pair of pointe shoes here and it was such a enjoyable experience! I get all my shoes & dancewear here and the staff is always super nice. Would definitely recommend 👍🏼

They have a decent selection of adult size clothing which is great, but the lady who runs the place is not friendly at all. The young girls who work there are fine.

*DO NOT SHOP HERE**DO NOT SHOP HERE*We bought a pair of tap shoes here for my daughter size 10 and when she went to put them on for class they were too big. She took them off and I saw they were a size 11 1/2. When we went to take them back they refused the exchange because they were too damaged. THEY PUT THE WRONG SIZE IN THE BOX and REFUSED To take them back. This place is a joke. Buy your dance attire ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!

Do not go here near closing time.....the staff will harrass you several times personally before the store is even closed. They must make their money off of special orders from people in the industry and do not need new customers. Selection is just okay, not impressive.

I’ve seen some negative reviews for this store. I have to disagree. I found the owner to be really helpful. She even showed me an “old dancer trick” I would have never thought of on my own to help with an issue. I thought the prices were reasonable. Although they didn’t have a lot of options for what I was looking for, I found something that worked. And a few weeks after purchasing my costume for an aerial show—my costume from Karabel held up to the abuse of of being rubbed against a hoop with tape very well. Whereas some of the costumes the other ladies purchased from a leading online retailer had issues, such as fraying after the first day of use or fabric being too thin and showing too much.

I bought dance slippers for my little girl, and realised when got home they were too wide. I called an HOUR later and told them of this. They were still in the plastic and not ever worn outside of the store. They wouldnt exchange them. Ridiculous. I wont ever shop there again.

I was recommended to Karabel Dancewear from Marie at Baltogs. I needed to purchase a mock neck unitard in mocha. I was willing to take the size medium for my daughter, who needed the small. I was right away told no returns. NO worries, I am willing to pay additional for alterations at my local tailor. Lori was the rudest and crudest person I could have spoken to. Extreamely unprofessional !!!! She told me it was too much of a hassle to go to the post office to mail it... really in this day and age of overnight everything. I am paying for the item I wanted.... and I might as well tell you their price was well over many other stores. The item was out of stock at other stores but $$$20 to $$$30 dollars less. I just couldnt take the chance of waiting for a backorder.Lori asked if I have a fed ex # she could use. I dont. Again, I was told, its a hassle and its 1 item and she underestimates shipping. Lets be real.... it weighs a couple ounces, and fits into an envelope. I was bitting my tongue not to go off. By the third time she said its not good for her. I lost it!!!! I was recommended from the manufacture, I wasnt just calling random places. I told her with her price higher then everywhere else, and me paying for shipping that she was a ******* I know it wasnt nice, but at least I will sleep. I hope she cant sleep knowing what a dumb *** she is!!!!! A terrible business person, not helpful and does not care that a child needed something. I strongly believe in Karma..... and she will get hers! I dont believe she even deserves the 1 star, but your forced to give something. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE NASTY WOMEN!!!! ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!! DO NOT USE THEM>>>>nicer friendlier people who need the business are out there and I am sure willing to get things done for business.

I love to support local small business owners and mom and pop shops, but even though I live less that 10 blocks away from Karabel I will never patronize them. You know there is a problem when local dance teachers and dance studios advice you NOT to shop there. Their reasons were due to Karabel’s inflated prices because of a lack of alternative dance stores, mine is due to customer service. Their No EXCHANGE policy is beyond my comprehension. You have to physically drag your kid there if you want to purchase anything because all sales are final no exception. If you already made a purchase, and they have your funds, whats the big deal if you simply want to exchange an unused, unworn, in the original packaging ballet shoe in size 10 for a 10.5? Well according to the owner that will “put her out of business”. Its such a shame to see how narrow minded “my way or the highway” the owner acts. If she threats us, the customers with so little respect for our business I can only imagine how she treats her employees. Next time I will try Dancers Barre dance wear on Ventura that seems to be getting GREAT reviews.

Looking for a pair of Tap Shoes should be a fairly simple and pleasant task... NOT if you are going to Karabel Dancewear in Burbank! If you are not buying what you try on, you better not come in at all! I have a tip for the rude employees at Karabel... when someone comes into your store asking to try on something or for help of any kind, it would be best if the first words out of your mouth were not, well, are you going to buy them? Why dont you try offering your knowledge (if you have any), of what your customer is looking for? And then after you ALLOW us to try them on, please dont ask AGAIN if we are going to buy them.. as, we have already told you we are just looking in the first place! From the moment we walked into this store, my daughter and I felt like we were not only being watched, but snubbed at the same time. And then, to top it off, after we asked to see a third pair in a different heel, we were approached by the owner and asked to leave. Out of nowhere! I have met a lot of people and worked with Divas in my time, but this woman was possibly the most assuming, rude and unprofessional person I have ever had the UN-pleasure of meeting. She basically asked my daughter and I to leave based on her experience of others coming in and using her store as a place to try on items and then go on line. Now, remember, this person has never met me, and has no idea who I am or what I am doing there, besides looking at a possible shoe purchase. What she might have liked to know, is I was not only shopping for my daughter, but a choir of 50 kids that needs shoes and was planning on reporting back to my director in the hopes of maybe purchasing and giving back to a Burbank Business. What she also MIGHT like to know, is due to an illness that I have, it is necessary many times for me to take a picture of what I am showing to the director .. but, did she even ASK me? NO. She just closed up her boxes of shoes and rudely asked both of us to get out. My daughter was mortified and I couldnt leave fast enough. Oh, and then as we angrily left, she chuckled... GOOD GOING and BAD MOVE LORI.Ill tell you what, If I have anything more to say, I would think it would be, you have a nice selection of merchandise, but it isnt worth going into a store that clearly scrutinizes their customers BEFORE they even ask the first question. I would recommend that the paranoid staff and owner of KARABEL DANCEWEAR take a class in customer service and maybe even a manners class. After all, you really never know who you are talking to, dont you think you should always be on your best representation when dealing with the public? And, FYI, if you cant compete with the internet as you stated, why dont you lower your obvious hiked up prices to a place where customers may not feel like they HAVE to sneak around in the first place! As for me, until I met you, I may have just bought those shoes.. but you know what?.. good idea..the Internet worked out best in the end! Oh and Have a nice day!
