My Stratocaster was in need of some TLC. Im new to Burbank and basically California, and I needed to find a place fast. And I did. Imperial Vintage Guitars. Upon walking into the shop, I was awestruck by the overall authentic vibe. Its what a quaint guitar shop should be—well-worn, full of character, and jammed full of guitars that take up most of the space. The staff is knowledgeable, and its pretty obvious that they are guitar aficionados. My guitar was left in the safe hands of Ryan who works in the shop. He estimated a very reasonable two week turn around for setup. The shop sent my Stratocaster to the guitar master himself, Ryan.Yes, you read that right - another Ryan. Ryan called me about a week later to discuss the logistics of the set up. He was very professional. The conversation felt like I was talking to an old friend I haven’t seen in a while. He was really personable. The guitar took a little longer than expected. While it was a little frustrating at one point, Ryan handled the confusion with immediate attention and went above and beyond to help me. After I picked up the guitar, Ryan even called me later that day to be sure that I was okay with everything. Again, top service. My Stratocaster looks amazing and it plays beautifully. The action on the neck feels just how I needed it and the switching between pickups is clean as a whistle. No more yucky static. Also, my red volume knob doesn’t spin anymore. Thank you Ryan for that extra fix. Hell, I even wrote a song today.Whether you’re new in town or a local, Imperial Vintage Guitars is the right place if you want the right service from people who really care.

Joe is totally the dude! Helped me learn what was what and was genuinely interested in my questions... I felt a sense of what it felt like to be a musician with all the knowledge and groovy equipment that was at Imperial. Super close to home and will be definitely going back to purchase some more strings, maybe even a new guitar. Thanks Joe @ Imperial guitars!

Awesome customer service, quick shipping and described exactly how they said. I’m not sure what the negative reviews were about, but being on the east coast, I ordered my guitar from IVG and I had no problems with communication, shipping, or items described. I am more than happy with my purchase, and I look forward to future business with them.

This is THE place to get a REAL guitar in Orange County... Lord knows we’ve been needing it. Be sure to check out their other LA locations (Burbank and Sherman Oaks) as well as I’m sure you’ll be amazed at the selection.Vintage guitars galore, all storied but in great condition.. they have stuff for players and collectors alike and sell to some pretty major cats in the music game as well. Small chance you might run into “somebody” there ;)

Really nice selection of vintage fender, Gibson any many other brand name electric guitars. Unique old amps and some other string instruments. Great repairs and reasonable. Prices start moderate to super expensive for the old rare guitars. Its like a guitar meuseum. Really friendly no pressure staff. I really liked it.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe Little of Burbank Imperial Vintage Guitars, and it was a phenomenal experience. He is hands-down the best customer service provider Ive dealt with in the music industry. If he is an accurate representation of Imperial, they have earned my business for life. Thank you, Joe.

My experience has been good.Ive had set ups for my guitar and bass done there, they did a good job and were fast. Also sold a guitar there, and was given a fair price, they didnt try to screw me, no negotiating, just what was fair. That really impressed me.So yeah, thats my 2 cents. Big thumbs up from me.I prefer dealing with them over anyone else, I dont get that yucky inside feeling I get at Guitar Center. You have to find people you are comfortable doing business with, and for that reason I cant say that this place will work for you, maybe GC is more your speed and thats fine, Just saying that for me, these guys work.

They misrepresented a guitar as being a valuable Martin collector guitar when it wasnt. Deceptive and dishonest people. After posting my review I got this message from the owner of Imperial Vintage Guitars ...We would strongly advise you to stop harassing our shop, or we will have to pull a restraint order and sue for slander. We have done it before, its an easy and efficiant way to get rid of germs like you.Do not do business with them.

A Junk yard, and dont even think of returning anything once you buy. You can kind of tell that the guys that work there are lying to you. On the bright side, if you have trouble falling asleep, just listen to the owner play guitar for about 5 minutes. I think his name is Tommy but Im not sure. Ive been there 2 times in the last year and things are still the same. The place is so small you cant walk 2 feet in any one direction

Horrible Owner. Poor Customer service ( I could go on a huge rant). Shop has hollywood type vibe. Will not do business there. After seeing the owners response. I had to come edit this. To sum up my experience I had to ask multiple times for help from the three guys sitting in there doing nothing. Then got attitude when I confronted the other guy about it. Then when I made my first offer was antagonized about it. Instead of getting a counter offer. Owner never wanted the guitar which is fine. MY friend that he talks about in the rant was trying to sell his guitar to them (not me). I was looking to trade towards one. Anyways just read how he responds to potential customers below. Judge if hes a stand up guy for yourself.

I have bought 6 or 7 guitars from Imperial (and full disclosure, my shop used to be right next door), and they have been always honest, up front and extremely fair not only with me, but with all their customers.Ignore these adolescently written bad reviews if you love guitars. Heed them if you just like being a dick.

Excellent guitar shop, one of the best in los angeles. Come here when you get tired of Guitar Center and want someplace where they really know what theyre talking about. Mainly vintage guitars and players guitars, also new Fender and good selection of amps. Most of the gear here is used, but the guitars are actually set up. I think the negative reviews are about the previous owners.

Dingy with all the character of a std clinic. The guitars look like they were once broken, then repaired, then painted. The guy working the floor is a major league gasbag and the prices for everything change by the minute. Their sales pitch consists mainly of insulting other music stores and players. I have never seen a music store so out of the loop as this one. Big egos, junk instruments, and bull crap....thats some combo!

Major garbage dump, glued together junk. Used car sales approach, they insult just about every store in Los Angeles and say a lot of negative stuff about everybody other than their friends. Total twisted vibe plus there is a ton of dust on everything in the store. Complete waste of time. You can get much better deals online
