I really want to thank Mimi Waters the AMAZING nurse I had for my second baby delivered at St.Joseph Burbank, I truly couldn’t have done it without her, she kept me calm, she was assertive and sweet and knew what I needed without me even telling her at times, thank you for doing what you do Mimi, having a baby during such a challenging and weird time is made easier with nurses like you.
Delivered my baby at this hospital, partially because it came so highly recommended by peers, partially because of the lack of birth centers or other options in the immediate area that were in network for my insurance. While overall the birth and recovery period were positive, it is now clear to me that St. Josephs only really supports a very medicalized form of labor and delivery. At several points I wanted to have a discussion the hospital staff and the ob about what kind of care I was going to receive, and I was frequently pressured to go with whatever high intervention procedure they wanted without question. Some of the nurses were awesome, and having two supportive birth partners made a big difference, but it was disappointing to be bullied into several aspects of the labor process that, in retrospect, probably made it harder and more painful - possibly even less safe - than it needed to be.No complaints about the recovery ward or the lactation team. I really enjoyed all the nurses and felt respected and listened to the whole time, while also benefiting from their wisdom and experience. :)If you want to have a birth with an epidural and/or expert medical intervention, then St. Josephs is a great choice. If you want a low intervention birth, then think carefully. At least have an ob and birth partners that are well-educated and willing to fight for your preferences. It matters. YOU matter.
I had a great experience in this hospital delivering my first baby. The staff is very supportive and professional. I would like to deliver my next baby/babies here!!!
I had an amazing experience at this hospital! The nurses are all wonderful but I have to give a special shout out to Sara, and the absolutely awesome Cathy! Level of care was unsurpassed and I had such a lovely birth experience. Dr Cashie was great throughout my entire prenatal care and delivery (so quick and easy). Thanks to all the labor & delivery, and postpartum team!
Had my child here. My wife loved the service and the staff is AWESOME! they are the best of the best, always answered my questions and the service was always good.
I mean they are pretty good and the employees are awesome there but they took 4 hours just to put on a simple cast for my sprained ankle and crutches and it took them 5 minute to do it an i waited on the bed for 4 hours
With the exception of a few nurses...This hospital is horrible. If you have an elderly loved one, do not let them get helped here. The 4th floor employees are biased. If you ask for service, they act as if they are doing you the worlds biggest favor. They frown upon genuine, hard work. If by chance you do end up having to deal with this place, ask for names of employees and monitor their activity.
Great Hospital, professional nurses, doctors, techs, treated my mother with respect and kindness, thank you very much.
Delivered my baby via c section and everyone was extremely helpul. They answered every question and concerns I had. Made sure my baby and I were good all the time
