I walked in to search for a pair of glasses one day, the front desk were nice and informed me of not returning the glasses back on the shelf due to them needing to be sanitized which makes sense due to whats still going on. While looking for glasses, I overheard a women wanting a refund on her order. To be very clear I just want to comment on the one gentleman that was working that day and his strong need to speak to this woman in a very demanding way and basically refusing to give her the refund. I would assume he gets commission off their orders but does this man survive only on commission? he really was fighting hard with this woman and did not want to refund her money when she was explaining to him that she wasnt comfortable with contacts I think. Keep in mind this conservation was something aloud where others heard too and they were also staring at this insane man. please teach this man to be nicer to people and try to make them happy and informed of their purchases instead of being money hungry!!

The appt was professional and the staff was friendly, but they snuck in a $25 charge for an Eyewear protection plan that I was not told about and did not agree to. I did not get a full receipt until I picked up my glasses a week later. I complained but now have to wait for a refund check.

Our family stopped going to myeyedr years ago due to the terrible service, but we decided to try again and the service is still terrible and they mixed up our files and didnt file our insurance properly and sent us the bill. This was after they had verified the correct insurance before our visit, but somehow billed the wrong insurance. I definitely will not return.

We have been going here for years but this time. I was so disappointed that my daughter went in by herself and come out with $187. 00 charged (with insurance) for an comprehensive eyes and contact lens exam and Photo retinal evaluation (which is not needed). The office should have notified the patients with the charges before examining. They cant charge patients and force them to have exams while sitting in the Dr. chair. We might have to file a complaint to the HEALTH PROFESSIONS enforcement division to look into the way that they are running the office for over charging without explained to patient. To all the parents are out there please Do Not let your kids to got there alone for eyes examination. I am sure you will run into the same frustrating problems which paid too much an eyes exam compared to other office in the area.

Insurance - My work insurance guaranteed 2 eye exams per year and I was in there network so my exam should be free. The front desk took at least 30 minutes and was unable to locate my insurance information due to their out-dated system. Had to file a claim and ended up getting my money back for the exam.New lenses - After the exam, I was told to upgrade my glasses with the new prescription lenses (using the same frame from my current glasses) from their office and it should be done in a week. The price for the new lenses were about 300$. I’m sure not why I was persuaded into doing this method, since my glasses only cost me ($200 with prescription lenses from Warby Parker). I should’ve bought a new pair and give WP the updated prescriptions and it would have saved me $$. After picking up my new “glasses”, it looked normal from the distance. But after carefully examining my glasses, I realized two of the main bolts had been replaced. I’m sure they misplaced them and replaced them with whatever were available at that time. Over time the lenses are lose, and their bolts cracked my lenses...OVERALL, I would not recommend this place one bit.

We had an issue with the doctor not advising us of an additional fee, and refused to remove the fee. We were never told about the fee and it was very difficult to find someone to talk to. It took us 2 days for anyone to call us back after leaving many messages. Furthermore, we waited to be seen by the doctor for over an hour after our scheduled appointment. We have had many problems in the past, but thought they would get better. Don’t waste your time or money going to this poorly run and fraudulent establishment.

Been going to Burke MyEyeDr for over ten years since I was a little girl. Suzie is the BEST, she goes above and beyond every time I come. She always helps me pick the best frame, cleans, and adjusts my glasses perfectly. Dr.Katz is funny and personable. Definitely recommend this place!

It was time for me to get progressive lenses due to my age. I decided to try MyEyeDr remembering that they do discounts for those who dont have vision insurance. I was helped by Chris and eventually purchased a new pair of glasses. The service I received from Chris resulted a 5 star rating. He listened to what I needed, he picked frames that suited my taste, and he worked out a good deal for me. I also would like to mention that I was greeted promptly by one of the friendly sales associates who later offered her opinion of which frame looked better on me. From this shopping experience, I highly recommend this store.

My daughters eye exam was great, best exam for her in the past 5 years, we felt so comfortable and the entire staff was relatable. They worked well with her and she is 9yrs old. Great experience, so confident about her prescription and overall eye health. Thanks Dr. Katz.

First, the good thing: Shadiq/Fashiq, and Jay for their patience and help. They are victims working in a system focused solely on profits, not our health.I would avoid this place unless you like being scammed. This includes being given the more expensive types of contacts without your consent.

Lied to me about still taking my insurance when I made my appointment, then their corporate lied to me about this location being willing to make me a deal to make up for their “mistake,” and then this location was rude and refused to make due for their mistakes independently of corporate when I showed up after waiting on their return call about the deal.They wasted so much of my time and made me feel trapped in their office. They have my medical information (including severe anxiety) and they seemed to be using my fear of owing them $100 to keep me from leaving. Finally I got them to admit their wouldn’t be a missed appointment fee nor would I be charged the $100 if I just walked out.Last year they were okay. This year they might’ve lost me my ability to use my eye hardware benefits before they expire.As with many places in NoVa they might be okay if you’re not at all mentally ill or disabled... but you risk getting mistreated if you have any cognitive issues. Especially when it comes to verbal communication problems.

Dont really understand all the negative feedback here. Ive been to this location multiple times. When I went to get new glasses this past week, they didnt have any frames that I liked so I just bought uncut lenses to be put in new frames. The actual eye exam was also a pleasant experience as well as Dr. Katz is a pretty down to earth guy. I never felt rushed or anything. The only negative is that they dont have their own machine to cut lenses into frames, but the Vienna location does. They happily offered to take my lenses to the Vienna location for me once they came in. Ill definitely come back here as long as Im in the Burke area.

I have been going to the Burke location for many years. I concur with the other two earlier reviews; Having said that, twice in the past decade I have received awesome service and product. Once ten years ago and then again in 2012. 2014 was terrible, but this random day in 2016 seems to be great with them. Thus, the ten year average is OKAY. Hope this helps.

My family and I have been seeing Dr. Richard Katz for at least 10 years now. He is the best, extremely caring and very interested that you are happy. Also for the last ten years Susie has been so helpful regarding picking out the correct frames and to make sure they fit correctly. Her product knowledge is amazing..

Lied to me about my insurance benefits. I told them my children did not have vision insurance. They said they would check our insurance plan. When we finished with our visit, I asked how much I owed for the exam; she said the kids had vision coverage on their plan, and they would bill the insurance. I received bills in the mail for $215 for each child(!) because they processed the insurance and discovered that they did not in fact have vision coverage. I asked why it was so much - they said that if I had paid the day of service, I would have been charged $97/ child, but since they had to run in through insurance, they had to charge extra. Cheats and liars.High pressure sales, but they will price match.

AWFUL! I was charged for a test that I didnt approve of or sign for. I cancelled my order less than 18 hrs after leaving and was told but the lab already finished them. They argued with me about the refund. They were rude about it too. I had no idea going there would be like buying a used car. I dont recommend this place at all.Just spoke to customer relations at My Eye Dr. It seems they not only charged me $27 for a test I never authorized. They added the $27 i to the costs of my lenses/ frames and taxed me on it.Again. Car salesman tactics.

I call these people, I felt like fool there. They wanted me to get a warraty on glasses I purchase and they did not honor it. My glasses was lost and they wanted me to buy replacement pair. Its better to go to a eye doctor who honor you as a patient

When I go to an eye doctor, I want to feel like a patient. At this place, I feel like I am buying a car. They keep trying to sell you stuff you dont need and giving you upgrades you dont want. Its a distasteful experience to have at a place that is supposed to care about your health.

Customer service doesnt seem to be a concern at this location. Went in to try on frames ahead of an appointment. Not only were we never given any assistance in finding frames, we were never even acknowledged by any of the staff. Two receptionists, two opticians, and an optometrist all ignored us for almost 20 minutes. We wont be purchasing frames here.
