I’ve been meaning to post this review for a while. R&S has been excellent to deal with and has kept our garage gates safe and operable for years. Specifically, Rick has been a lifesaver on multiple occasions. Rick always comes through whether it’s routine maintenance or an urgent after hours service call. His professionalism, knowledge, and expertise consistently exceed expectations.

From dispatch to the very talented technician - Rob - the experience was absolutely seamless, timely and professional. Rob went out of his way to troubleshoot a tricky issue and got our gate operational once again. We can highly recommend both R&S as a great company thats a pleasure to do business with and Rob as the star technician who truly cares about providing caring, authentic service. Ive been doing business with R&S of San Mateo for both business and personal. They have always given me 5 star service. Yesterday we had an emergency call to R&S to resolve an issue with our gates. Technicians Andy Stevenson and Damon Cruz were assigned to our service request. They diagnosed the problem and made the repairs. They also took the time to service other areas of the system in an effort to avoid future maintenance calls. Both Andy and Damon are now part of the R&S 5 star history.

R&S has the most incredible customer service! What a treat to meet the technician Rick, who was extremely knowledgeable and kind. I was in awe of everyone at this company from the receptionist to the technician. The responsive call-back to set an appt, the courtesy call to say the technician was coming... it was all appreciated and rare these days! Much gratitude!

Thought I was doing good when I purchased a new remote for my daughter and successfully programmed it to open the two garage doors and the gate across the driveway. Only to find out later that same day that I had erased all the other remotes and the two keypads to open the gate.R&S installed my gate in 2002 so I called them and they sent Rick. Rick had it all taken care of and even serviced the gate and operator in a hour. Very courteous and professional. A retired mechanic myself, I enjoyed working with him!! Thanks Rick!!

R&S Erection of San Mateo is the go-to company for garage door fixes! My family has used their services for three different homes that we’ve replaced garage motor systems and also a garage door. Each time they’ve come through with excellent service and a quick response. This last job that just finished was for a garage door motor replacement and tracks since ours was slowly malfunctioning due to wear and tear & age. Lol, it was 20yrs old. Andy came to the rescue, came on time within the window I was given, and he quickly changed out the motor and tracks within an hour of work or so. Everyone at R&S from the office to the technicians are efficient and professional. They always guarantee their work and I recommend their services to everyone!

Rick is awesome!!! I happened to be on call for work and the gate’s chain for my apartment snapped. I was unable to leave the complex. I called the gate company and Rick’s response was quick. He was professional and helpful. He definitely went above and beyond by staying in touch with me to keep me posted in regards to the status of the gate and whether they got a hold of the management company. He also told me that he was willing to face time to assist me in attempting to open the gate manually if help happens to take a long time. Highly recommended!

Highly professional in every way. They towed my car from my apartment and had it running like new. I knew the car was in good hands when they called to confirm about a special component you dont see in many vehicles. I would recommend these guys time and time again!

I have been using R & S for almost 20 years now. In that time, they have performed many garage door installs, multiple gate installs, and random repairs for numerous properties that I manage. All repairs that have been done, have been through no fault of their own (rats chewing through electrical lines, a neighbor crashing through a brand new garage door with their car, a snail that fried a circuit board, etc.)I am always happy to call these guys. Every single person that I have EVER dealt with here, has had nothing but the most utmost professionalism. Theyre all incredibly knowledgeable, personable, on-time (they even call me while theyre on the way, and give me a courtesy call the day before to remind me), super friendly, and they just go out of there way to do the greatest job imaginable, every single time. Martin, the General Manager, came quickly when I called for service in the morning because my remote openers were not working. He not only fixed the problem but serviced my garage door so it opens smoothly with no noise and charged me less the quoted price. I would definitely recommend R&S!!

Extremely pleased with the entire experience with R&S! The technician Roy did an amazing job. Roy went above and beyond to make sure our gate was working appropriately after not being serviced for many years. Marjorie and Les were also a joy to work with and they are part of the reason Ill continue to work with R&S for any gate and fencing needs.

After a pretty bad experience with another gate service company, I was preparing for the first when I called R&S. But, the service from the first phone call to the service provided by Rick was exceptional. The lady who picked up the call was very helpful and I was lucky enough to get an appointment for the same day. Rick showed up on time and took no time to fix the issue. Prompted by receiving their reminder post card for routine garage door service, I phoned to schedule the service and was delighted to get an appointment in less than a week (was thinking covid might impact how soon they are available). Marty came on time and as promised by the scheduler, he called in advance of his arrival. He worked methodically to cover all aspects of routine service and was very knowledgeable when answering all my questions. Very pleasant to work with. I have been a customer of R&S about 8 years and they have been very consistent in their quality of service and pleasant & professional demeanor.

Robert was very professional and efficient during the service of our gate. His knowledge with both the operation of the gate and intercom system was great. I have been using R&S for my garage door service for many years. When I moved into my current residence (7 years ago) I again called R&S for a new garage door. They were great. Since then I have been getting their annual inspection service at a return customer rate. They are always on time and Daniel has been doing the door service. He is very efficient, explains what he will be doing and gives a rundown when he is finished. I highly recommend Daniel and R&S.

I recently received great service from R & S Erection Co . Les in customer Service and Jason in service were both wonderful . Jason fixed the problem in short time and Les set up the appointment .. If you have a Gate or Intercom problem call them . You wont be disappointed .

R&S came out to my house on a weekend as my gate stopped working. Rich the technician was able to trouble shoot the problem quickly, and was able to order the part quickly. He came back out an fixed the gate, and since nobody was home, he called to let me know that the gate was working and the property was secure. Rick was excellent, very professional and as a result I highly recommend R&S.

R&S Erection installed our 18 redwood door 40 years ago. Then one of the springs broke and our cars were trapped inside. Andy came out this morning, replaced the springs, did a full service on all the bearings and hinge joints, and we were delighted to find the door is now much easier to raise by hand. Guess those springs should have been replaced sooner. Andy is very personable and friendly, and very professional. Looks like R&S hasnt lost the formula for excellent customer service over the past 40 years. We recommend them for any garage door work.SincerelySteve Jones

Rich Willingham(sp?) came out to service my moms garage doors, and he was really wonderful! He went over and above in customer service..friendly, knowledgeable, explained everything thoroughly, even sprayed the tracks for noise reduction! He is a treasure. I will ask for him the next time for sure!

Want to give a big shoutout to these guys! Les spent over 20 minutes on the phone with me explaining the issue and potential resolution. Rob (tech) came out for assessment, ordered part same day, and then fixed the in-ground motor (in the RAIN) the next day. He was fast, clean, thorough and polite. Great company and Im glad found them. Highest recommendations!

I had R&S out to perform maintenance on my electric gate which R&S initially installed about 15 years ago. Still works like a charm. The technician, Roy Ilog, was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He also performed the work using safe Covid practices, with mask and social distancing. Will definitely use R&S for future maintenance and repairs on my gate.

After a very frustrating experience with another gate company we were delighted to find R and S. We were fortunate to have Dan Holben leading the project. He is exceptional: knowledgeable, diligent, a true craftsman. On a scale of 1-10 he is a 20 - truly! The entire experience was outstanding. The capable, well trained team did what they said they were going to do, were responsive and hard working.

Andy had installed two garage doors for me. At the time I did not order a keypad. My client requested one and I purchased one thru R & S Erection. It arrived in a very timely manner. I tried to program it, without much luck. I called the office for assistance. They said Andy was in the field and he would call me. An hour later he called and walked me successfully thru the process of programming my doors. My client is happy. Andy was very professional, knowledgeable and great to work with. I wanted to leave a message to note appreciation for the quality and steadfastness of work performed by R&S technician Rick.Close to 12:00AM Saturday into Sunday, Rick made the effort to come out and fix a faulty garage door issue at our apartment complex; we have had a number of break-ins over the past 2 months, so it was prudent we couldnt leave the door open and exposed to our parking garage to the outside public.Within 1 hour, Rick was able to determine the problem with a mis-configured remote, reset the system using mine, and get the door closed, maintaining security and safety for the tenants of our building. Would recommend Rick for any and all garage door needs.

They installed our front gate operators nine years ago. Theyre worked perfectly until last month. Called them out to service the units. The repairman came when scheduled, asked good questions and got everything working promptly for about 200$. He provided a well documented service invoice including some photos and recommendations for the future.

He found the broken spring on the garage door & replaced both springs, tightened loose hardware, lubricated all moving parts & tested door.He answered all our questions and didnt waste any time while he fixed the door.
