I love safeway but honestly people when theres a line going to the back of the store, maybe you should open more than 2 registers

This is a good store with friendly staff. However, sometimes on Sunday early evenings the shelves can be short on popular items - not unexpected in the grocery arena.

I love shopping at Safeway however I was shocked how dirty the bathrooms were! They had no Toilet paper no toilet covers. The smell of old urine was terrible. The floors were wet. Maintenance can do better!

Dirty, uncortous, family planning product caged like it was gold. Not recommended.

This is is for the Starbucks people. In my work Imfortunate to try multiple Starbucks locations. The coffee you guys serve here specially Krissy I think her name is. Wow just really! You make me want to complain to all the other Starbucks. Just thank you for taking time to make my coffee taste great. Really appreciate it! I almost never post but have to give credit where credit is due. Can she train everyone on how to make coffee please 😅.

Good location! Enough parking in the elevated area, well stocked the people on the Starbucks are very friendly and on the deli department they make a good effort to make your sandwich. Need to improve the cleaning of the bathrooms . Will comeback to check again

I went in there to get two items and they had the express lane open what you very very rarely see especially at the Safeway on Delaware so I chose to go to this one instead of the one on Delaware much better if you live in the area

This is my local go-to Safeway. I absolutely love shopping here. Everything is always very well organized, clean and staff is friendly and helpful.

I went in here so it was quiet as the city began to awaken for the day. Starbucks is here so I got a cup of coffee and a bite to eat.

They had bathrooms! Other stores around them did not. So I shopped here. I was not disappointed with the store. I used to live near one that was kinda dingy 20 years ago, but this store was clean and filled with quality goods. Staff seemed a-okay, but I didnt interact with any for long, so YMMV.

Visited the Starbucks at this location which turned out to be a bad idea. The person that helped never greeted me and just stood there for about 20 seconds staring. Coffee was what it was to be expected but my pastry was smashed by the tongs after he removed it from the oven 🤦‍♂️. With this said I definitely wont be visiting this location again!

I was able to get a Covid shot at the pharmacy here. Big beautiful Safeway store, but the need to work on their Bourbon picks in store

Nice selection, a bit pricey, typical Safeway nationwide.

I came in for a COVID vaccine and was helped by Cynthia who was wonderful! She was so patient and answered all my questions with a smile on her face. She made me feel at ease and was super efficient and professional. When I left I felt like I had made a friend, we will certainly look for Cynthia next time we are at the Burlingame location.

The staff at this place is not helpful at all and very rude. Many times it gets crowded late at night, the line for billing is huge but they just wont start another lane. The fruits are also sometimes not re-stocked.

This is my favorite Safeway. very helpful staff. too bad it’s now closed at 11pm. it’s no longer 24hrs because of the pandemic. don’t forget your mask if you do. there’s walgreens nearby. if you come in the morning, all the shelves will be full and organized which would make your shopping more fun and easier. as long as you are focusing on your grocery lists at all time.

After nearly my entire order was rung up cashier tells me cannot use credit only cash. Order was $200. Says store announcing it...but not since Ive been in store. Luckily i had cash on me for emergencies. I also worked for Safeway for 10 yrs and this was not how things were handled in the past. Cashier should have notified new customer at the start of the order.

Very clean store helpful staff

Its a pretty store, and one of the bigger ones in the peninsula and San Mateo county.Their food is fresh and you cant complain about its cleanliness.But I often wonder where all the employees are? Occasionally Id like an associate to assist me in finding, or just showing me to the sales items.It seems like other then the 3 cashiers and this poor lonely soul at that Starbucks spot right in the corner next to the bathrooms, the house isempty, and being run by 4, maybe 5 workers atmost.When do they ever stock up? And it sure is always pretty replenished. Invisible Umpa-Lumpas?FYI for the unplanned trip, and we all hate toanticipate the need for a latrine, and it does happen, do not expect for things to go quick. Two bathrooms, and each and every time the inhabitants mustve fallen asleep while throning.So I give it 3 stars. The products are fresh and good! Thats the most important! Bring company though, it might get lonely in the isles!

Im just trying to contact a Mr Barry Allen. He was the manager at the safeway store in Bastrop, La. 45 years ago. He was very instrumental in turning my life around. Ive been trying to contact him for years. If anyone at Safeway can tell me anything about him please let me know.

I never shopped here, but they have a nice Starbucks inside. However, i gave 3 stars because the restrooms, which I usually come here for are always dirty and smelly. For being in a nice area, youd think they be cleaner.

Great grocery store for the area but obviously pricey and in san francisco they charge you .50$ for a bag. Definitely recommend.

Deli serves excellent chicken with potasalad broccoli salad, ate in their lounge area, then went shopping, decent prices, store was clean, workers were very helpful and professional.

Half of the self checkouts broken and only one checker working. You’re not even trying.

The store itself is fine but the bathrooms are horrendous they stunk extremely bad and the floors and doors were dirty I didn’t even want to use the bathroom so I left

My experience at Safeway was not good, I waited 15 minutes at the meat counter, I asked two employees if they can find me someone and both said yes and did nothing, then I went to the check out and one of the girls said shed find someone and I walked back and the butcher was there. Not a well managed place, I dont live here so I dont have to deal with it but Im sorry for the people that do.

No Sourdough rolls...refused to make.me a sandwich if I purchased a Sourdough dough baguette from same store

Its OK. Expensive, products are mostly fair to good. Nothing special. The place was clean and thats a plus.

Nice grocery

Small store that rarely has any of the weekly ad specials stocked or even available. The customer service is below standard. Staff tends to make up reasons as to why the prices are inaccurate or why they cant provide any assistance. With the covid-19 virus running so rapidly a small store where everyone bumps into each other isnt safe anyway. Its in your best interest to go to the Safeway in Burlingame or the Safeway on El Camino Real in San Mateo where you can find great customer service and all the items on your shopping list.

This place is the best. The employees are top notch and go way above and beyond.

Best Employees and Managers and Best Service of All Time!!

There is a safeway in my neighborhood but I drive to this one because of the selection and the width of the aisles. Although Covid has reduced the number of items in the frozen section, this giant safeway has the best selection around. It will continue to be my first choice until everyone is back in stock.

The cashier, Greg, an Asian man is such an unhappy person who has had me feeling disrespected twice so far. First time messed up not charging some of my order while ignoring my reminder for the items to be charged and today was showing his unhappy attitude throughout entire check out process. Otherwise, everyone working in this store is very helpful and nice. Such a bad example how one person can ruin an entire situation for his team.

Love Safeway and the sales!

One of the nicest in the area.. just a little disappointed with the self check out area. It looks very disorganized and messy. The old set up was much nicer.

Great meat and produce sections, plus almost any Latin American ingredient you could want.

This is a typical Safeway store. While they have everything like any other market, they do have a lot of organic food. They have a good sized bakery and a Starbucks inside the store. The staff has always been professional, very helpful and polite. Again, it is a Safeway so its a little pricier than other grocery stores. Oh, and theres not a lot of parking so you almost always have to park in the parking structure and bring the elevator down into the store.

This location always comes thru. Typically well stocked and an ever present friendly staff.

I liked it. The store was clean. Service was fast. Sandwich and Soup was good. Soda machine was working. Eating area was comfortable and had a working outlet to charge my phone.It was all good!

Fantastic Safeway. Always clean, well-stocked. Unfortunately a lot of people must agree that this location is the best around because its usually quite busy.Be sure to check out the flower section, the variety and quality is actually quite impressive!

The store personel were great. Very patient with the customers borderline rudeness. If you wanted a whole chicken, mind you, you had to assemble from parts. I also noticed the only frozen pizzas left were the cauliflower crust and gluten free, I thought that was funny as h@ll. I went the Sunday before we got the notice to shelter in place for Corona-19. Everyone was in a mad rush to try to get two weeks worth of food, hygiene and pet supplies. Plenty of adverts left, so I guess you could use them in a pinch since there was no household paper products to be had. Since I am a mother and cook from scratch 90% of the time, the only thing g I missed were potatos, not even dirt residue in thier normal bins! So good job Safeway on keeping things clean and tidy as well as not being cranky right back at the customers! I would of been with ice cream left in the cereal aisle, who does that at home..oh freezer is full, I guess I will just put the ice cream in the cupboard with the cereal and sugar. Overall, Safeway I commend you on how you are handling the chaos with calmness and pleasantries.

They are still closing self checkout at night during COVID. So I get to have the pleasure of waiting half an hour in line so some poor checker who has shared germs with 100 people in the past hour can now spread those on my food. Putting profits over community health. Shameful.

A great store plenty of selections

Best place to get packaged grocery, very competitive pricing especially if you have a Safeway card. This one is about 4 years old but they have kept it clean and well maintained. Main parking lot can get crazy but the additional parking upstairs is helpful. Pleasant shopping experience overall. A good neighborhood chain store for everyday items. Fruits, produce, meats maybe better quality at Mollie Stones.

Very clean and spacious isles with reasonable prices and member discounts. They also have a very large selection of gourmet cheeses, a clean meat area and a bakery that sells yummy goodies! Fresh veggies, fruits, and an area where you can get a salad/sandwich/sushi.

Every time I’ve gone here, the cashiers have completely ruined anything good about the place. They have been consistently rude. Today I told them how I wanted my change (cash back) and the cashier responded, “ I’m not a bank”. This is just one example. Hire new employees with actual customer service skills.

Good, full-service grocery store. Decent selection. Great sub sandwiches at the deli counter. Although they charge for each grocery bag - not uncommon here, but come on!

Genuinely the worst grocery store I’ve been to in the Bay Area. Kudos to the management for having achieved such a fine distinction.Seriously though avoid this place if you can. Literally every other grocery store in the area is a better choice.

Terrible customer service at Safeway, Burlingame. The front end manager is the worst. I returned spoiled chicken. The manager proceeded to tell me that due to Covid Safeway was not accepting returns. How can that be when the item is spoiled. She kept saying no and then pointed to the sign on the counter about no returns. I then read it and pointed out that it clearly said if the item is bad or spoiled, refunds would be issued. She wasn’t listening and kept saying no. This argument had been going on for 10 min before she finally begrudgingly refunded the cost of the bad chicken. That’s the last time I’ll be shopping at Safeway. (After 25 years of living in Burlingame. ) The worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time.

Great service and amazing variety of items!

Clean, stocked and well mannered courtesy clerks.This is a nice store, though it can be a bit crazy during peak hours. Sometimes theres homeless people hanging around if you go later.My only complaint would be that they dont stock things in the same place every time so you have to do a bit of searching

The store is huge, you can easily be lost in this store. They offer a lot of different items. The only 2 complaints I have for this store are : They dont offer hot Asian food and the Customer Service people are very rude. They look like they dont want to help people or they get annoyed very easily.

This is definitely the best Safeway I have been too. Its very clean and organized and the fact that its 24/7 is a major plus!The produce section is always neat and smells like fresh fruits. The staff here are very helpful and most of the cashiers are fast. The meat / fish section is mostly very fresh and priced well.

Nice Safeway with a full selection. It was clean and well maintained. Self check out makes it easy and fast if you just want to grab a couple things.

There produce is terrible. And they still will keep selling it to you.... When I told them about some fruit that was no good and died out but looked ok. He just shrugged his shoulders tells me they Bank on you not returning it. And I have got burned that way several times... Same with Cosco.. They use to be good when they started.

This is the best Safeway in the area by far. It has everything youll need on your grocery list. They also have a great wine selection.
